  On your Homscreen Go to Options > device > Application Management > scroll down to BlackBerry Messenger, version will appear next to BBM or strong the BlackBerry Messenger application within this screen > press Menu > display properties > it will show all the details of this particular application.

  I've updated BBM from version 7 to 7.0.1. After the reboot, I found that my BBM was gone. I checked my world in Blackberry World, to see that it is installed, but it was gone.   You can try it again once, it might be useful. all making the first first delete BlackBerry Messenger of your device, for this on your home screen to go to Options > Device Application Management > locate and remove BlackBerry Messenger from there.

  You are able to use BBM before this update without any problem?

  If you are then try reinstalling BBM who may help, do that on your homescreen go to Options > device > application management > delete BlackBerry Messenger in the list.

  After a recent upgrade of my BBM icon label changed to net.rim.bb and when I click to send a BBM I get tell screen: Eception missing Exception of resource files.  How can I fix this?  I am running OS 6.0 Bundle 2647.

  I have a blackberry curve 8520 with OS v4.6.1.314 and I currently have the blackberry messenger (5.0.2.12) version I tried various links to try to download the new version of BBM, but none have so far worked, I can choose the download, but when the reboot is finished I find myself with the same version, and nothing has changed.   Sorry but right now BBM version 7.0.0.126 is not available for OS 5, as everyone talks about I think RIM will release soon before or after Christmas, so please wait until you get a notification on your device on the BBM upgrade.

  With a network carrier signal strong, I suggest the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2, each should result in a message from your BB... ( Please wait for this before moving on to the next step) :

  (1) registry HRT

  • KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with wireless network
  • Please wait a 'registration' message reach your Messages application

  (2) Service reference books

  • KB02830 Send the directories for the BlackBerry Internet Service
  • Please wait "the Activation' Messages, one per already configured e-mail account, arrive in your Messages. If you have not already configured email accounts, please wait 1 hour.

  (3) restart to take batt

  • With power ON, remove the hood back and remove the battery. Wait a minute, then replace the battery and cover. Power on and wait patiently through the long reboot - about 5 minutes. See if things return to functioning. Like all computing devices, BB suffers from memory leaks and others... with a hard reboot is the best remedy.

  I hope that will move things again for you! If this isn't the case, then you should contact your mobile provider for formal support.

  I was see a hell of a lot of discussions because of many problems with BBM 7, as "all my contacts are gone" and "BBM 7A ΘtΘ supprimΘ!"

  Why there no test RIM themselves? They have released a beta version before its release, surly, someone asks a question about the bugs and errors and why didn't RIM not correct them or at least delay the update?

  Hundreds of people are planning to leave BlackBerry because of that, just look at the comments on the App World!

  How RIM screws would like that? Or even take a risk of messing things up? Their shares have fallen, and more people are considering to switch to Android or IPhone!

  'How' and 'why', these issues require "inside information" to really answer. And all those who have such information would naturally not allowed to release it... so I really don't think that you will be able to get a definitive answer to this question. A lot of opinions, sure... but nothing that is authoritative.

  My guess is that, like all things designed and built by humans, there is a chance of anomaly that is greater than zero, and the possibility of perfect deployment is indeed zero. In addition, with a complex environment like this, my personal opinion is that it is simply not possible to really test all scenarios during the development phase... the final real test is what I always called 'field test'... when the product is actually published in the world and all scenarios can then be examined really. Unfortunately, the only way to do that is to really release the product.

  Also note that the RIM is not alone in this type of debacle. Don't forget Windows Vista? And Windows ME? And (I think) Windows XP SP1? But Microsoft remains in the company, despite these debacles. I suspect that, as bad as it may seem this BBM version, RIM will continue survive.

  In addition, it is impossible to really assess the rate of success or failure of this version of a forum like this. This site is specifically designed to help people who are in need... and so we naturally never hear from those for which the update is well conducted and no problems ensued.

  If you really want a rate of 'problem', the metric only, you can draw the number of complaints is divided here the entire subscriber base of BB... and even that will be inaccurate because it can explain these users who are not eligible for the update or simply choose to avoid it. Nor can he explain to those who have problems but to go elsewhere for help.

  Overall, my point of view (100% subjective) of the rate of complaint is that it is a little worse for some before release that RIM has had, but not dramatically so--at least not yet.

  You have been very helpful to many people here on this site... I hope that you will continue to be the case. We try to promote this site as a place to come to the rescue... at the same time, we try to prevent it from becoming a place to just 'bash' RIM... to make this really accomplish anything to help another person from a difficult situation. There are a plethora of choices in the world and no single solution is perfect for everyone... we no not regret their choice in mobile device solutions.
