  I have a notification icon on my home screen is - a clear blue semicircle with a lowercase "i" in it.  Please, for the love of God, someone tell me what it is.

  OK, took a while, but I finally found what was the notification icon.  I was sent a blackberry messenger application community contact.  One of the guys at work just got a new blackberry and referred a request to add to my contacts.

  I had to swith to a different theme, and then I saw the notification icon.

I lost the receipt so I was wondering if there is anything that I can prove it's my phone. I still have the box and all devices that came with the phone. any help is greatly appreciated. Cheers.

  If you still have the box, it will be the PIN number on the side and you can check the identification number on the device.  If they match, it will check it as your BlackBerry.

• BlackBerry Smartphones unable to identify the icon

  Hello, this is my first post in this forum after hidden for a few months.

  After searching the forums, I am unable to identify an icon that appears at the top right of my screen.  It seems to appear mostly when I go into my Contacts (although I'm sure I saw it elsewhere, too).

  Two upside down triangles, right one slightly lower than the left, over a box or tray.  Can anyone put my mind at ease?  I looked in the manual supplied with the phone, and in these forums and can't find the answer.

  Either way, I love this phone!  I fell for the first time the other day (the last time!) and moved very quickly to retrieve it, looks like I dropped a baby!

  * SOLVED -it seems to be the icon that is displayed when the Multitap is the active keyboard portrait.

  The upper right corner of your phone must have the network and the meter.  I think what you're talking about is when the phone is really looking for a signal stronger and I think he has those triangles with arrows pointing if I remember correctly.  Generally, your phone will be on 1XEV but occasionally as he's on 1 X and when he switches back, it's probably what you see.

  I changed my SIM card for a week because I was. And when I got home, I got my old one back. And now my bb is locked with blackberry iD identify you. I remember my user name and a password and I am sure they are right. (Unable to connect to your account iD from bb) I don't know why. I tried to connect all day, but still its not. I don't want my phone to be formatted.
  PS. When I put the SIM card, I had when I was there were no lock.

  I hope someone here can help me.

  My Blackberry Curve stopped receives or sends data communications last night.  My provider (Rogers) service troubleshooting-the question down to the RIM servers.  Rogers stated that they could not access the envirnoment RIM to fix this and they gave me a phone number.  1 800 327 - 9085

  Looks like I have to pay for a support call to get my Blackberry restored. It's obviously ridiculous since it was no fault of mine that this problem has occurred.

  Error message: Suspended. Reason: 116 - invalid identifier

  How can I solve this?

  Reminder of Rogers and ask (ask politely) that your question be wound to RIM tech support level, free of charge. They will do it. There is no reason for you to pay for per-incident support.

  Rogers wouldn't you give no reason for the suspension?

  Which has been suspended, your Rogers account, your PIN, your what?

• BlackBerry smartphones, remove the "BOLD" Sprint 9650 identifiers

  I have an old 9650 "BOLD" that was initially linked to the Sprint network.  I ordered a new SIM from Mobal international SIM card and now my 9650 has successfully used two local GSM providers (AT & T and T-Mobile) and managed to make phone calls.

  When the phone starts up, it always says Sprint and shows my old sprint phone number which is not the same as the number assigned to my new SIM card.  Is there a way to remove this information and or wipe clear my BB to his "original non-Sprint State.

  This initial carrier 'splash screen' is hard coded and cannot be changed. When the devices are manufactured, they are made for a specific carrier... and some of these companies have deals where this start screen is included. But it doesn't mean anything... If your device is carrier/MEP unlocked, then the splash screen shows just what the VendorID of the device (which is initially made for carrier). Unlocked is unlocked, regardless of the start screen (but you cannot change the home screen... it is permanent).

  It might be that Sprint and/or from your current provider or do something on their networks... but you would need to enquire with them. Move a CDMA device to a non-CDMA service can be difficult, with many of the latent unexpected results (like this one). You can also find other useful KBs on point... you need to search for more.

• Text messages identify blackBerry Smartphones

  I am a new user of BBerry. Receive emails in both a business and personal account, each of which has an icon on the face I can check emails. The third icon apparenlty combines all messages and this is where text messages appear.  I can't recognize when there are Messages in the mix of all the other emails.  I don't get that txt msgs of my children so don't get much, but rely on this form of communication with of.  I get a beep when the text is available, but if am not by phone of course will not hear it.  Is it possible to set up separate inbox just for text messages so that they are more easily visible.  Or is there something else I use to better sort the emails and text messages. ?  Thank you!

  In order to separate the text messages from the Messages folder, you need to have OS 4.2.1 or higher installed on the BlackBerry. You can determine the operating system by going to help > topic.

  Once you have an operating system installed, you can separate text Messages by going to Messages > Options > General Options and set the SMS and email separate inboxes.

  The symbol will appear along the top of the screen, usually to the left of the provider network and the time.  It is a red circle with a diagonal red line at the top left to the bottom right. As a sign "do NOT".  Below the Red are three vertical lines, according to me, yellow, red, green, but it is too small for me to see things clearly.

  Anyone knows what the symbol and how to remove or address, that it alerts me?

  My curve was fine yesterday, does not need charging. Last night I went to use it and the screen is black and nothing works. I tried to load but still nothing. If you call it, it goes to voice mail, but does not ring. No lights, no. sounds without warning, no nothing. Any ideas?

• BlackBerry smartphones identifying a really unlocked 8320

  I recently bought a used version of US T-Mobile 8320, but it does not recognize my SIM card overseas. Said "Invalid SIM" and I get the indication 'SOS Only' of some networks and SIM card works in another GSM phone.  Is there a place to go to set the frequency of the network for GSM carriers overseas?  Or is the SIM card, I did not compatible with the Blackberry?

• BlackBerry Smartphones after reboot, phone does not work, nor can he be identified by cell phone, only exception messages can not go screen or anything, just messages

  all keys are frozen so could not load in safe mode either. Out stack but still no luck

  I use a Storm 2 and cannot identify an indicator which appeared recently.  I tried these tips without result.  It resembles an indicator of electronic mail, and the colors are those of Google.  I don't use Gmail email tool improved, but not Gmail or Google Talk application).  I rebooted several times, messages cleared, etc., but this thing is.  The number never changes.  Anyone know what it is?

• Keyboard for Smartphones blackBerry with three languages + other question

  Hello, question about the keyboard. I've used for several years, both physical KB (z30) virtual bb10 KB (passport - best physics kb). Something that both got kb was very well the ability to write in several languages at the same time, in the sentence, and the Ko magically would correctly identify what language I was using and could give me any suggestions according to this and more important still, if one has been written in English but then type something in my second or third language , will not auto correct. Now, I have a private and I have these two questions:
  1. - I can not type in several languages at the same time without changing the language first. I put the three I use most, but all the suggestions and auto correct options are in the main language only. I'm surprised because this has been well implemented with bb10 and yet a BlackBerry smartphone. Any suggestion?
  2 - for some reason, in mid sentence, a word would have the first capital letter, just the option in the space bar is the same word I wrote, but with a capital letter. Boring.

  Sorry for the late reply, I didn't know you posted a suggestion... I had put everything in settings multilingual, but did not work. However apparently, in android, there's the thing that I found in another forum so let me add here... I followed these instructions step by step and now I have a kb truly multilingual, with automatic detection... some steps I've done it before with no luck but to do all in sequence... If you previously installed the multilanguage, delete it and start from scratch:

  1. install and activate the BlackBerry keyboard
  * Go to the language and entry
  * Go to "default keyboard / current keyboard", press "configure the inputs.
  method' and activate the BlackBerry keyboard
  * Select BlackBerry keyboard as default keyboard

  2 configure the keyboard
  * Under the keyboard and input methods, tap on the BlackBerry keyboard
  * Press on multilingual keyboard
  * Choose your main language (which is in German) and the secondary
  language (IE. US English)
  * Press on save at the top right and click on "activate now".
  * You will now see a dialog language. Disable 'language use of the system '.

  AND NOW COMES THE BIG THING:
  * In the language list that is displayed, you will notice that your
  main language is listed TWICE (in my case GERMAN and just below a
  second GERMAN. Select the SECOND ENTRY and DO NOT select your
  language school (in my case English of the United States) in the list.
  * Press return to save the configuration
