Can someone tell me what is a good (free) travel/mapping for blackberry application?  I had google maps and wasn't so much in love with her.

I checked the blackberry site and found "poynt."  What is a good?

Poynt is not a great map and the application of directives, but it is a kind of good yellow pages application.

Outside of Google Maps, there is AmazeGPS, Nav4All and may others.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones BlackBerry Maps is loaded on the NEW Bold 9700, but there is no icon to start the application

You just bought a new Bold 9700.  I ran all of possible update.  BlackBerry Maps IS loaded (v5.0.0).  The operating system is the most recent.  I see BlackBerry Maps in applications of the add-on, but there is no icon to start the application.  The seller is completely useless when it comes to helping solve the problem.  The GPS seems to work and provides the correct location data, but I can't find a way to start the BlackBerry Maps application.  What gives?

GPS still works on the device, even without BlackBerry Maps.

    Try Google maps. Free.

  • BB of Smartphones blackBerry maps for Torch 9860

    Hello

I just got a BB Torch 9860 and tries to download maps of BB with no luck at all. I received the following message:

«Sorry, your device does not meet the system requirements that are needed to support BlackBerry map»

The only requirement that I see on the website is "* BlackBerry Maps is available on devices running the device software v4.1 and above.

I already installed the latest version of the software.

    Any help is greatly appreciated!

    Thank you

Yes, there should be a free BlackBerry Maps application. Did you accidentally delete it? Double check for you ensure that you are indeed missing it by pressing the search on the home screen button and simply type cards. There should be a green icon with a purple trail (this is how it appears on my Torch 9860).

If it is stil missing, so the best way to get will out perform the following operations. Click on the link I provided in my post above. Download the OS by selecting the 9860 Torch in the menu dropdown. Once you have downloaded the file from the OS, install it on your computer.

Then, on your computer, open Windows Explorer and navigate to C:\Program Files (x 86) \Common Files\Research In Motion\Apploader (if your computer is a 32-bit computer, you won't see the (x 86) folder - just go for the regular Program Files folder).

Open the file named Loader.exe and connect your BlackBerry. Click Next, and then click Next again. The Application loader will now check your BlackBerry. Once this is done, you will be at a screen where you can select applications. Find the application called BlackBerry Maps, check the checkbox and continue by clicking next. This will add BlackBerry Maps on your phone.

So now, just to be safe, I recommend first backup your phone. Although it is not necessary, it is recommended, just in case something goes wrong.

Try and let us know if you have any problems.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones BB Maps icon missing. Not possible to re - install app

    Hello everyone.

I have a small problem that many users seem to have with BB 8900. A Blackberry Maps application has been installed on my device (version 4.6.1), but to start icon is missing. I saw a few posts about this problem, but none of the proposed solutions seem to work, including reinstallation of the application (to try, I get a message that Blackberry Maps is not compatible with the software I installed). I recently upgraded to OS 4.6.1.231 (Platform 4.2.0.108) so my app is permanently updated. I'm helpless about what to do now. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

    I understand your point.

BlackBerryMaps can be installed, but it is enabled via a directory of services pushed to your device by the carrier.

And without the Blackberry data Plan, you will not get the maintenance book.

And he does not fast laps with data. Just a white screen with horizontal lines indicating no data.

  • BlackBerry smartphones clear an application not installed

With the help of a Storm 9530. I downloaded Google Maps. The first screen asking to allow or deny access to the index. In addition, it has a check box for "Do not ask again". Well... I was told that if you do not use the Locator, Google maps use coordinated round so I chose Deny and I checked "Don't ask again". There is no warning that Google Maps will not work without any clue on... and since I checked do not ask again, when I try to launch it, I get a popup saying that the application cannot turn since the Locator is off. The application then terminates.

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling, but it reacts the same. Apparently, though even it uninstall, there must be a type registry setting that holds the info so I can't have the cards to run.

Someone know how to purge an application not installed?

usually with Google Apps for BlackBerry, you will need to restart your device (battery pull). Did you that between the installation and uninstallation of the application?

    In addition, generally you can:
    (1) open the BlackBerry Maps application
    (2) acquire satellites
    (3) launching Google Maps

and then Google Maps will be able to retrieve the satellite connection.

you shouldn't have to do steps 1 and 2 (Google has published a patch just for that), but that's what I have to do to activate MyLocation in Google Maps on my 9530.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones BB Maps and other issues

    Hi all

I have a few questions about GPS on the storm. I use Google Maps for GPS, but I noticed that without a signal (on very remote locations where the signal from the phone is very low), I can't use Google maps. My first question is, the GPS on the storm depends on the signal from the phone?

Also, I tried to download maps of BB, but I get the 'funny' opinion: "sorry, your device does not meet the system requirements that are needed for the suport BB Maps. My storm running the last update, what makes this mean agree? Is it possible that I can not download maps because I am in South America?

Finally, while playing music, I don't repeat just a single song (over and over again, until I get tired of it..) I can't find the way, given that the repeat option only works for a playlist or album.

A lot of questions! Thank you in advance for your help!

    See you soon!

Hi and welcome to the forums!

Regards the print under the download button on the mobile site.

"Blackberry maps is available on mobile devices under Device Software v4.1 and 4.2.x.

So basically, the OTA version is for older versions of the OS device. That's why you got the error.

Also, I had read information about Blackberry Maps on the cover.

I don't see South America on the list.

    Thank you

  • BlackBerry Smartphones BLACKBERRY MAPS SU CURVE 9360

    Hi dear. I have a BB curve 9360 version 7.1 bundle 1133

My BB cards do not work. Whenever I open them, I get the message (in Italian) on an unknown error and, if I continue, I see only gray and white controls. I would like to again download the BB maps on my smartphone, but I'm not able to find the way to do it. I went to http://it.blackberry.com/services/blackberrymobile.jsp , but I am not able to find the way to download the BB maps. I'm therefore looking for support on two things:

    (1) why I always get this unknown error when I try to look at my cards

    (2) how do I re-download the maps app

  • BlackBerry smartphones HELP! -Application error 606

I'm relatively new to the whole community of smartphone, and I fear I actually broke my Blackberry!

I noticed that e softwareupdated was available for my Blackberry, so I chose to download it. The problem is my phone kept freezing in the process, and I was getting a little impatient. Finally, my phone told me that there was not enough memory, so I should delete some applications to make room. So I selected a few to remove, and my phone froze AGAIN. Now, if at all, it has frozen or not, I'm not sure... Maybe I'm too impatient for the life of a smartphone.

In any case, I decided to take out the battery to reset the phone, I have grown really tired and has to work in the morning, I so wanted to just turn my phone and turn it on again, put my wake up and go to sleep. As I just re - turn the phone on, it starts to load up as it usually does, then a screen appears:

    "Blackberry 5.0.0.496 platform.

Then it lists a whole bunch of items in the phone, in alphabetical order, the first being "Addressbook."

Then, in seconds, the screen goes all white and a small message will appear "Error App 606" and it gives me the only option of resetting my phone. I click on reset, and it's a cycle... The phone seems to be loading as it normally would, and then he'll come back to this screen of the Blackberry platform, then the App error 606.

I ring my network provider in the morning to see if they can help me, but I was wondering if anyone of you here would know about this at all? I feel so stupid for the cause!

    Hi xxjadey_babyxx

If your device is not detected so you had to force the detection of your device by using the Application Loader. But remember in this process you will lose all data on your device, I hope you have your backup device, follow this Knowledge Base to recover your device:

KB10144 :How to force detect the BlackBerry smartphone using the Application Loader.

Please try it and let us know of your progress.

  • BlackBerry "BOLD", Blackberry Maps and AT & T smartphones

I'm on AT & T and I have a "BOLD".  When I FINALLY found the download for blackberry maps site it would download to my phone.  D/l site maps said it was compatible with devices that are running the version 4.1 and 4.2.x and my "BOLD" version 4.6.  Blackberry Maps will be always available for my version?

    Thank you.

P.S. I downloaded Google maps, but only uses the Weatherbug Blackberry Maps app.

I guess the service customer call and ask would be little about as useful as asking my dogs of technical support.  I managed to get the BB maps on the phone, but AT & T has done something to hide the icon so I am unable to run BB maps as a stand-alone application.  WeatherBug and Poynt all consider two blackberry maps so I have now all features of both apps and I'll just have to use google maps for directions.  In the AT & T forums, some people have reported finding BB maps just by changing themes.  Who has not worked for me.

I downloaded the new software for the "BOLD" here.  https://www.BlackBerry.com/downloads...E4F82F9F00E7D4

I installed the new software taking care to check the box to install BB maps.

BB maps icon is non-existent but the app is displayed in the list of applications and other applications are able to use BB maps.

If anyone has any input on how to make the visible icon, please report it here.

    Thank you

Hey! so are blackberry maps available in India yet? do not appear on my curve 9360...
You can also im unable to download google aps it says Error 907 something on an invalid COD
    any idea anyone?

Finally, I read, no BlackBerry Maps is not available in India

And the data source is in fact TomTom, not Google Maps.

I recommend that you use Google Maps, personally, they are a bit softer and richer than BBMaps.
