BlackBerry Smartphones Blackberry messenger doesn't open

Whenever I have click on or tap the messenger on my torch, nothing happens. I tried to remove and reinstall the application but no joy :-(

All ideas welcome!

Did you ALREADY used BlackBerry Messenger in the past?

I would say this:, perform a full backup of your BlackBerry using desktop on the PC Manager.

Now, even if you have removed and reinstalled it, let's do it "my way."

Then, go to Options > device > application management and scroll down to the email application and click it, just highlight it. Click Menu > delete and remove the application.

Now, do a restart: with the BlackBerry device powered on, remove the battery a few seconds and then reinsert the battery to restart.

Finally, use your BlackBerry browser to go to http://blackberry.com/blackberrymessenger and download/install again the Messenger application.

After installation and reboot if necessary, check your instant messaging, or downloads of the application folder.

    Only thing I can say would be to uninstall and then reinstall the application.  I've never heard of such a thing happening.

    I made sure that I got everything updated on my Blackberry. Yet the problem persists. I'm on a package version 6.0 of Blackberry Torch 9800 695 (v6.0.0.246, platform 6.4.0.105). When I click "Software updates" under Options, I get: "your BlackBerry is up-to-date.

    I could not add a contact to BB Messenger.  I called Sprint for support and they told me to remove BB Messanger.  I tried 1 million things to add again.  How do I update the software on the device when it has the latest version of the software?     Hi guys. I am new to the forum and I'll try to do this quickly. Since I installed the new BBM on my 9700 AT & T, it has a problem giving me my BBM. Sometimes it will not even make a sound alert, change the LED color or allow me to see the new message received unless I can get a glimpse into all my messages (e-mail, text SMS, MMS messages, etc.). Here is an example. I receive an alert by a BBM contact. I can see or see what they typed to me in all my messages, but once I try to view it by clicking on it, it won't be there. It will show only what I typed. So from there, I'll go into options in Blackberry Messenger and change any setting here that forces me to close by saving the new setting. Then when I go back to the message that I can't see, it will be displayed. I constantly have to do this just to show messages in my BBM contacts. Is there a setting that I've screwed up or y at - it something wrong with my Blackberry? I had to downgrade BBM was last updated and I don't want to do that, even when I don't have to.     First try a battery pull restarts, if it is still impossible to locate and remember it's not hidden, to check that the screen is in the Panel Home screen ALL > press the Menu key and select "Show all icons" or icon to display "." It will show all of the icons that were previously hidden. If you see BlackBerry Messenger icon like grayed then highlight it and press the Menu key and select the icon to display, also search your folders as the Application of Instant Messaging folder, etc..

    If it is still impossible, then try reinstalling the BBM, but first on your homescreen go to Options > device > application management > locate and delete BlackBerry Messenger from this list.

    Once it is perform a battery pull reboot by removing the battery while your unit is powered, wait a min, then reinsert back.

    Hmm... I don't know why your BBM contacts are suspended.

    • I would try to backup your BBM contacts on your media card (open BBM > Menu key > Options > backup locally to media card).
    • Then, to delete BBM on your device in Options > advanced > Applications (options > device > Applications)
    • Perform a simple reboot on the BlackBerry this way: with smart BlackBerry poweredphone, remove the battery for a minute and then reinsert the battery to restart.
    • Now, reinstall BBM using your Blackberry browser to www.blackberry.com/bbm
    • restore your identical to the backup above BBM contacts.

    2. Press the Menu key > Options > Backup.
