BlackBerry Smartphones Blackberry Messenger "More information" is wrong - I can't fix

When I opened first Blackberry Messenger, he asked me to associate a contact with my identity.

It was my first night with the touch keyboard and I accidentally chose the wrong contact in my list.

Now when I look at my profile for Contact and seek 'View My additional Info', it has the information to the wrong contact.

I tried to use the 'remove link to Blackberry Contact' window 'View info', but even when I type 'Yes' to the warning the wrong information still remains.

How can I change the information for the correct contact? or how to reset everything? or how to change the existing information?

UPDATE, the issue seems to have resolved itself... Don't know if it was when I updated the BBM survey software or when I reset the device by removing the battery...?

    1. are there different type of Blackberry 9000 "BOLD" which comes with a memory embedded different?

I'm confused, as far as I know, it only comes with 1 GB of memory onboard. But someone he announced in ebay as 16 GB Blackberry "BOLD". What is the difference?

Answer: not at the moment, but possibly in the future. The maximum amount of memeory that can support the "BOLD" is 8 GB SD.

    2. can I use Blackberry "BOLD" purchased in another country?

Are there differences in functionality, features, appearance or any other things on BB "BOLD" from different countries?

Answer: Yes, I use mine for Roger on T-Mobile and I can not use the BIS (Blackberry Internet Service).

    3. do all BB "BOLD" can be unlocked to use any network in any country?

Answer: Yes, any blackberry can be unlocked to any network. But, if it's only a SIM based phone.

  • BlackBerry smartphones Blackberry Messenger on OS 7.1 How can I delete

    Hi all

I wonder if and how I can delete my Bold 9900 BBM application. I sometimes get weird messages 'invitation' (although I never configured or used the messenger app), I thought it would be better to completely remove the Messenger and get rid of all the spam messages...

Thanks for your help and greetings from the Germany,

    Gerhard

Hello and welcome to the community!

Nope... under the current version, it is once again (it was in the past) an application of "core" that is not optional. Maybe if BBM is updated in the future, so we can make once again the trick which was used to work (update via AppWorld, then removal of BB). But for now, it seems that it is not removable (I even tried via Desktop software... no).

There's probably a hybrid thing to remove COD files there from the PC and then load this OS hybrid clean for BB, which would then exclude cod files that are BBM... but I have honestly no idea of the final impact, given especially the inter-app integration that has recently been coming out (and (, remove a basic application is hardly something we have to do).

    Good luck!

  • BlackBerry smartphones HELP! BlackBerry Torch 9810 error messages. How can I fix it

Hello. Would be very grateful for help. I brought a new Blackberry 9810 but at first, I was unable to make a Blackberry ID. I've sorted this problem by buying a new sim card, but after that, I was unable to download the Blackberry App store. Since then, I took the phone to a local repair shop, who restarted the OS software, however still unable to download the App store.

Since this fact I now some more different two errors appear. One is when I go to 'Create' in the main menu an error appears: "error starting net_rim_bb_toolkit: Module 'net_rim_bbid_common' not found ' I can't make regarding my BBID. Help?

The second is when I click on 'Blackberry Protect' again on the main menu, this message appears: "error starting net_rim_bb_dryad_gui: Module 'net_rim_bbid_api' not found.» New HELP?

I was really excited to try a Blackberry phone, switch from an Iphone, however at the moment just upset im and want my Iphone, without the flaws in return. I HOPE SOMEONE CAN HELP ME PLEASE!

First of all, you need to reinstall the operating system.  I don't know what the people at phone repair shop, but you should not get these errors.

    1. I recommend the 7.1 OS from here: choose the model 9810 and the 7.1.0.658 version and download it.

    https://swdownloads.BlackBerry.com/downloads/contactFormPreload.do?code=9FC664916BCE863561527F06A96F...

    2. If you have data on the device you want to keep then make a manual backup of your device first, using Desktop Manager > backup. Close at the end Office Manager and disconnect it from BlackBerry. You can get the BlackBerry Desktop Software here http://us.blackberry.com/apps-software/desktop/

    3. download the OS from step 1 of the file on the PC then install on the PC by running (double click) the downloaded file.

    4. go into c:\program files Research in motion\apploader and delete the file named "vendor.xml." Also, check the following locations for the vendor.xml file and delete all instances of the file:

On Windows Vista/7, go to C:\Users\YOUR_USER\AppData\Roaming\Research in XML Motion\BlackBerry\Loader (where 'YOUR_USER' is your user name)

On Windows XP, go to C:\Documents and Settings\YOUR_USER\Application is In Motion\BlackBerry\Loader XML (where 'YOUR_USER' is your user name)

    5. Please a clean OS Reload and use BBSAK from BBSAK.org and wipe the device (after doing a full backup) then after you get the 507 error (no OS installed) then go to the next step.

    6. plug the BlackBerry and double-click on "Loader.exe." It is located in c:\program files\common research in motion\apploader

This will reinstall the latest OS on your device.  Once this is done, you will need to make sure that you have a BlackBerry BIS data plan on your account.  Contact O2 to ensure that it is put into service.

That looks like a lot a plugin crashing at launch, specifically frees Kubota Dashboard, which I think I need to update to the new operating system.

Try to disable your third-party plugins.

  • Impossibility of blackBerry Smartphones using Blackberry Messenger with Wifi

    Hi all

I started having a problem with Blackberry Messenger about 5 days ago, I can't add contacts, send or receive messages while using on Wifi. I get like a small watch red on the side all I'm trying to send messages and my contact is never any of these messages.

I'm actually abroad so I try to use Wifi I want to pay a huge phone bill, I contacted my service provider, they say that everything goes well on their side, after making a few test (send me messages and beyond) and told me that the problem could be the Blackberry server. I've been abroad compared with the month last 2 and as I said problems only started a few days ago.

Someone of you adds a similar problem? Have you managed to fix it?

    Thanks for your time

    Vincent

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Cant find blackberry messenger on my phone more

I forgot to lock my phone when I put it in my pocket and somehow blackberry Messenger has been removed from my home screen. This isn't in my Messaging Instant folder and I have redownloaded it and still no icon.  The only way I can get to it is by going to apps to pass and then go and find the icon in there. IS anyway to recover the icon? Thank you

    Hmmm... Did you hide it?

On the main screen, press the Menu key > and VIEW EVERYTHING as well as show all is checked.

Now check all THE folders, homescreen, downloads, applications, etc., once again.

It seems that there are some of these discussions on other parties of the forums.

A hoax message circulating on BlackBerry Messenger (BBM) asks users to message BBM to their contacts in order to maintain the BBM service and claims to have been sent originally by Research In Motion (RIM).

Be assured that this BBM message did not come from the RIM and that it does not affect the security of BlackBerry smartphones. It is simply a string of hoax message. Unfortunately, many social networking applications in the face of this scenario, according to which no message, including a hoax message, can be transmitted to a user of one of their contacts. We recommend that users simply ignore the message and do not convey.

Is there any truth to this? I checked the link to Blackberry and got a message saying that the page was not found.

My favorite is the technical term that they use "very comprehensive."

    It is indeed a hoax.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Blackberry Messenger 5.01.41 help

Hi guys. I am new to the forum and I'll try to do this quickly. Since I installed the new BBM on my 9700 AT & T, it has a problem giving me my BBM. Sometimes it will not even make a sound alert, change the LED color or allow me to see the new message received unless I can get a glimpse into all my messages (e-mail, text SMS, MMS messages, etc.). Here is an example. I receive an alert by a BBM contact. I can see or see what they typed to me in all my messages, but once I try to view it by clicking on it, it won't be there. It will show only what I typed. So from there, I'll go into options in Blackberry Messenger and change any setting here that forces me to close by saving the new setting. Then when I go back to the message that I can't see, it will be displayed. I constantly have to do this just to show messages in my BBM contacts. Is there a setting that I've screwed up or y at - it something wrong with my Blackberry? I had to downgrade BBM was last updated and I don't want to do that, even when I don't have to. Should I have the new 6.0 OS for BBM to finally work for me? I have no idea, but it continues to be, more I plan to jump to an iphone. Thanks in advance for help and answers.

    Hello

In this case, I recommend the BlackBerry smartphone and all 3rd party applications of wiping. To do this, we would need to back up the BlackBerry smartphone. Please open the BlackBerry Desktop Manager and connect your BlackBerry smartphone. Click the backup and restore button, and select Save. Note the location where the backup is saved will allow us to access later to restore the BlackBerry smart phone.

Once saved, please follow the link below to do a wipe of your BlackBerry smartphone security.

Test the BlackBerry smart phone and do a selective restore as described below.

I made sure that I got everything updated on my Blackberry. Yet the problem persists. I'm on a package version 6.0 of Blackberry Torch 9800 695 (v6.0.0.246, platform 6.4.0.105). When I click "Software updates" under Options, I get: "your BlackBerry is up-to-date.

The error message is driving me crazy and sometimes it is even difficult to get any use out of my phone because it appears whenever he wants, without worrying if I type an e-mail, in contact with someone on BBM or navigation.

How can I get the error message stop popping up?

    Hey Netzimon,

When you receive this error message is your BlackBerry smartphone connected to a Wi - Fi network, behind a firewall? If so, please see the following article:

Let me know if it helps.

    Thank you.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones BB Messenger disappeared

I tried the update Blackberyy Messenger by downloading and installing a later version on being invited by the Blackberry World. Later, I realized that BB Messenger is gone off my phone, but App World it says it is installed. I tried to remove and reinstall and it won't allow me. Help, please.

    Hi TroymanMartin

Welcome to the Forums of the BlackBerry Support

First try a battery pull restarts, if it is still impossible to locate and remember it's not hidden, to check that the screen is in the Panel Home screen ALL > press the Menu key and select "Show all icons" or icon to display "." It will show all of the icons that were previously hidden. If you see BlackBerry Messenger icon like grayed then highlight it and press the Menu key and select the icon to display, also search your folders as the Application of Instant Messaging folder, etc..

If it is still impossible, then try reinstalling the BBM, but first on your homescreen go to Options > device > application management > locate and delete BlackBerry Messenger from this list.

KB10040  : How to display or remove installed application on a blackberry smartphone

Once it is perform a battery pull reboot by removing the battery while your unit is powered, wait a min, then reinsert back.

Finally, after the reboot, use your BlackBerry browser and go to www.blackberry.com/bbmdownload for download the latest available for your device.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Blackberry curve 8520-Blackberry messenger does not work

Recently got a blackberry 8520 burve, one of the main reasons I brought was because of bbm most of my friends have it and reguested me to add, only when I click on their height in waiting, it doesn't have an accept button - but all my friends say it should... I rebooted my phone a lot and I reinstalled bbm at least twice. does anyone have any ideas on how I can sort this out?

    Hello!

Yes "EDGE" should be symbolized close signal bar.

Well in your case, you should contact the service provider for activation of your BIS.

Once it is activated, you will be able to use BlackBerry Messenger with no impediment.

I hope that solves your problem!

If your problem has been resolved then would you be asked to click 'Like' and accept as a 'Solution' that other advisors invest it times on this Message more.

    Thank you.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Blackberry Messenger works do not!

My blackberry Messenger is not working...

I have the bold 9780. Today it stopped working... Ive talked to my provider and they say all right, my signal is fine... I can send and receive texts and people receive them but if I send a message from bb, so that it has a check mark next to it but not delivered... D still I will not receive messages from bb for 3/4 a bit and then come at once but mine don't always delivered.

My bb Messenger is up-to-date and therefore my system that I've updated all day

    Help, please

    Thank you

Hello and welcome to the community!

I suggest the following, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2, each should result in a message to your BB to come...) Please wait for this before moving on to the next step):

    (1) registry HRT

    • KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with wireless network

    (2) Service reference books

    • KB02830 Send the directories for the BlackBerry Internet Service

    (3) restart to take batt

    • Each time a random strange behavior or slow creeps, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the hood back and remove the battery. Wait a minute, then replace the battery and cover. Power on and wait patiently through the long reboot - about 5 minutes. See if things return to functioning. Like all computing devices, BB suffers from memory leaks and others... with a hard reboot is the best remedy.

I hope that will move things again for you! If not, then you must go back and see your provider... they are 100% responsible for the delivery of all services and support for you and you are now paying them for a service they are not a. If they can't fix it, they have the ability to climb it in RIM... you have no free path to obtain support from RIM otherwise than by escalation of your provider. It is a pity they you already brushed off like this, you may have to insist a little with them. You pay their money... they need to offer a service to you.

    Good luck!
