BlackBerry smartphones can I import contacts from vcf file

I have contacts on a vcf file on my micro sd card. How to make. Contacts?

Errrr, not easily

You must move the files to your PC VCF > import or bring into Outlook.

Then, using sync Desktop Manager your Outlook to your BlackBerry update.

Download Desktop Manager here:

    Philip, you are welcome.

I would recommend first to import this file in to your Yahoo contacts on Yahoo mobile web page where are your contacts. These contacts would then sync over to your BlackBerry address book. This is the simplest method.

Alternatively, you can use a version prior to the BlackBerry Desktop Software v6.1 or lower, to import a CSV file into your BlackBerry.

  • BlackBerry smartphones can not move contacts from 9000 to 9800

My old BB 9000, or more likely, DM 6.0 organize my contacts on my old phone hostage!

I had my 9800 yesterday and tried to run the Wizard "device." Everything looks good, no errors, everything works... then I have open Contacts and it is empty. Look at my old camera, everything is still there. Try the synchronization again and again, no luck. Trying to back up "All contacts" on 9000 then just that give back to 9800, does not work.

I think the problem is that on the 9000, I see three "lists of contacts" - two named Desktop and the other with my gmail address. It appears in fact as those associated with the gmail address move okay - except that only one contact is associated with this account! The rest seems to be distributed randomly among the other two inputs of funds.

I have tried everything I can think to manually backup/recover contacts from the old phone, but no matter how I try to sync, I don't the addresses associated with the gmail account or when I restore what seems to be a 'complete' backup all contacts disappear.

A side note, I didn't want/need to keep these contacts separate so if there is a way to merge together to solve as magically I will gladly do - unfortunately entered KB talking about this all reference ridiculously old versions of the software, so I don't know how to do with DM6 and the 9800.

It's ridiculously frustrating. Permutation of devices was such a breeze and a grand more for me in the past, who would have thought that RIM would make it more difficult/worse?

Let me know if I can give you more info!

Well, 3 days it took me to solve this problem, quite poor of general RIM experience - I hope that someone is watching. Here is the solution I found, based on the process here: http://www.berryreview.com/2010/06/03/faq-duplicate-desktop-or-unknown-contact-list-databases-found-...

Original problem - several book entries of "Desktop" addresses on my old phone, which apparently caused problems when you use the DM6 ' device' Wizard.

    Resolution:

    (1) of peripheral origin, take a backup and select only contacts 'Address Book - All.

    (2) Download ABC Amber Blackberry Editor (why I need a 3rd party tool to use my new phone!) as mentioned in the article.

    (3) open the .ipd file that contains the address book - all entries, do a save as and put them in a new file - they are now simply part of the primary address book.

    (4) this is where I spread article above - still, restore that backup on my new phone doesn't work but restore on my OLD phone actually. If that's what I did.

    (5) I reactivated my old phone on BES then used wireless sync to synchronize the address book to the server.

    (6) to the new phone, activate on BES and turn on the wireless sync, and voila, I have my address on my new phone... FINALLY.

The obvious answer here is ' well, if you had the wireless sync works properly in the first place that probably would have been avoided "which is quite true. However, as it is a personal device that I use to work for e-mail only, the camera itself has always been the source of my address information and it sync to my business account has been low on my priority list. I thought that saw DM configured to make weekly backups (which still occur whenever I plug in my phone, regardless of whether or not - a week spent yet another problem with shit DM6) would be sufficient coverage of the information available to me.

I hope someone finds this useful info and should not suffer through 3 days of hair pulling as I did.

  • BlackBerry smartphones can not get contacts from gmail account * of * BB (OK I think the reverse)

Just got my torch last day... first BB for me. I've enabled IMAP on gmail account and went through routine quick (online) which allows for the BB. I saw that the synchronization of contacts has been checked and when I finished to activate the account on the BB it seemed I could see some sort of sync in progress, BUT it seems he went only one way which is BB FOR online gmail account. Thus, the 300 contacts email on my online gmail account did not go to the TORCH.

These contacts, I can see on my Torch are the 52 I had brought through Outlook a few days earlier using Blackberry Desktop V6 with the torch that is physically connected to the laptop.

I have checked the filters and I see PERSONAL and BUSINESS, and both are disabled.

I don't know if it's related but I think I've noticed in the short time I used the TORCH display new emails from gmail in question account, I would have thought that the sender's e-mail address would have been automatically added to the 52 "existing" BB Contacts, but always just the original 52.

Where these 300 gmail contacts will, if they met, at the TORCH.

    Any ideas?

    Hey Copperbeech,.

I looked into this question for you, currently Gmail contact limits of wireless synchronization and synchronize only the 'My contacts' and does not synchronize the "all Contacts". A possible work around that would be to copy the contacts to "my contacts".

    I hold that this aid.

  • BlackBerry Q10 can only export contacts from Q10 to a worksheet?

How can I export my Contacts from my Q10 in a spreadsheet?

    Hello

Directly, I don't think you can. According to how you have integrated your contacts, it could be simple or complicated. If you have used the recommended method to use an OTA service (e.g., Outlook.com, GMail, etc.) as the host of your contacts, synchronize your device, then these OTA services may very well have a facility to export you want. Or, if you've been synchronization via LINK to Office Outlook, you can export and then that. If you chose the more dangerous method to only use the device as a unique storage for your critical data platform, while the process is much more difficult... it comes to each synchronization configuration of Office Outlook and then export from there, synchronization with OTA service configuration and export from there , or by using the LINK and make a backup of your device, then find a 3rd party app PC that can translate the backup file owner on your PC for something you can use.

Sorry to give you so many things, but not knowing the outcome of your configuration in multiple alternative paths.

Good luck and let us know!

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Can I retrieve contact information for a database without the BlackBerry

This is my story - a couple of weeks, I dropped my 8130 Pearl in a large cup of water. After miraculously, he came back to life, I decided that it was time to SAVE my contact... information so I used the version of the office for 4.3.0.17 Manager do... Only, I clicked on "Addresses", which I guess means contacts. I joke that my poor BlackBerry not - the VERY NEXT DAY, went into the pool with me. Now, despite the fact that I just mentioned after swimming, I actually do not lead a lavish lifestyle... I live in the desert, and I had to enter my poor toddler, overheated in the pool as soon as possible. I have no cell phone insurance, but I don't have the $50 deductible to get a new BlackBerry. Now I use a Casio g opportunity ' Boulder area. I had so much contact info, I need. So, here is my question. Is there a way to convert information database (IPD file) I saved in a word document, or other legible form so I can get all my contacts?

    Thank you in advance,

    Crystal

Crystal, Hello and welcome to the Forums of Support BlackBerry.com.

Yes, google search for ABC Amber IPD Converter and use it. It is not free, but the trial software will manage a limited number of records.

If you end up having a new BlackBerry, you can restore this backup IPD file on your new device.

How can I now import these out of my office?

Looks like you will need to use a Microsoft program: http://fileinfo.com/extension/wab

  • BlackBerry smartphones can not call numbers from contact list?

Hi, I have a blackberry curve 8350 and for some reason whenever I try to call a number in my contacts list, it indicates the code or number I dialed is incorrect, and please try again.

I know that the number is just because they can call me very well, if I dial the number calling me, but when I try to do from the list of contacts it just won't let me.  Its a problem because I don't remember hundreds if the number I have stored.

I noticed that when my phone is to dial the number, it always puts a sign before the number as his try dialing international or something.  For example I want to call 216-478-9876, but my phone dial + 216-478-9876.

I'm so lost, and any useful information would be greatly appreciated!

    Thank you

    Welcome to the Bennie06 forums

I think it has to do with your smart dial settings. In the list of phone go to menu > Options > Smart Dialing. Make sure your country code is + 1 if you are in the USA/Canada. I think it will work. If this isn't the case, post back with the settings were there.
