BlackBerry Smartphones Desktop software version corresponding device OS version?

Hello and good day,

I am very new to blackberry.  I just got a 8830.  I'm getting ready to download the Desktop Manager and was wondering if (since the OS on my device is v4.2.2.123), if I have to only download the desktop v4.2 Manager... or can I get 4.5 or 4.6?  Also, I downloaded the upgrade for take my OS v4.2.2.196 device so I can use a full 8 GB card.  Tips on how to install this on my device (it's currently just on my desktop where I downloaded it)?  Thanks for your time and patience and have a great day!

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Desktop Software - HELP! It syncs more

After updating the software of office about a month ago I am more able to synchronize Organizer data. It worked wonderfully well before this, but I can't seem to find a link or site for the previous version of the software download. I tried to uninstall and reinstall the new software without success. I have reset the settings several times but without success. I connect the phone (torch 9860) to the computer and open the software. I put it on auto-sync and synchronize dialog box appears for a split second, then disappears. At this point, there has been no synchronization. I then click on the "sync button" bottom right of the screen and the Synchronization dialog box.

Photos & video can be synchronized but not data. I left it like that for hours but nothing happens. The only way I can close it is CTRL + ALT + DELETE and close it through Task Manager.

I'm doing something wrong? Can anyone help? It's bugged the hell out of me as it was working perfectly before. Is this the right place to ask this question because I'm having no luck elsewhere.

    Bravo!

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Desktop Software v6.1.0 B38 (Multilanguage) - works in Windows 7 [64 Bit].

    A working solution!

I tried many links with the foregoing that other people have found and I have always come with the message "Desktop Manager is not working - Windows is looking for a solution."  Finally I found one that works without having to adjust all the settings on your PC or to uninstall other programs.

I am with O2 UK and done a search on Google for Blackberry Desktop Manager for O2 [try the same with the name of your own service provider].  After following a number of sites, I ended up on a page of RIM that I had not seen before which gave me a drop-down list of options for Windows and MAC OS and all handsets Blackberry Desktop Manager.  I clicked on the Windows operating system and got the attached link

    https://swdownloads.BlackBerry.com/downloads/contactFormPreload.do?code=A8BAA56554F96369AB93E4F3BB06...

It loaded OK and found and installed my Bold 9700.   I've set up and ran configuration 2 lanes and normal service resumed!

I recommend to download and use Revo Uninstaller, as it seems to give you a clean uninstall of programs, the registry keys and redundant files that any uninstall.

    Happy syncing!

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Desktop Software 5 on Win 7 - not Outlook synchronization

    Hello

had to reinstall my laptop and went to Win7. Installation went well and most of s/w works. So far so good. Installed BB Desktop Software 5.0.1 and got the error message during installation (as shown in the photo).

DS starts up normally and detects my BB 8800. The only function that does not work is the synchronization with Outlook 2007. In the config box it does not offer the ability to sync with Outlook.  Is the error and it related? What should I do to fix this? DS already removed and installed again. No change. Outlook works fine and the installation is completed without any error message.

    Thx for the help.

    Hello

THX, it worked.  Repair fixed the issue in Outlook. If the problem is a problem of MS Outlook and is not a problem of DS.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Desktop Software - 8310 - true Newbie Question - Contact synchronization

I did some research but I'm unable to find the contacts for my office management software.  I'm a BB user first. I had a palm a few years ago and I could change my details on my desk and then synchronize my palm device.  Is it possible to do with BB?

It's for personal use, so I have BES.  I downloaded the Desktop Manager, but I have no application to synchronize.  I had all my contacts from my phone last imported into the BB and want to change the information.  I was hoping I could do that to my office and the synchronization with the BB instead of doing everything on my BB keyboard.

    Any thoughts?

The BlackBerry Desktop Manager is not like the Palm software that you do not change the information directly in the Desktop Manager software. You will need to have an organizer like Microsoft Outlook when you change your contacts, then you can use the Desktop Manager to sync module to synchronize information from Outlook to the BlackBerry.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones upgrade software version 5.0.0. What does the warning on the summary

    The written warning

"Once completed, you must activate your device wireless to continue to send and receive e-mail messages and use other services of blackberry. If you do not want to continue, click Cancel.

What does this mean and maybe why I do not wish to proceed.

What does activate your wireless device and that will affect my current email put in place?

I have a "BOLD" of Telstra and I am only connected to my computer and get my own personal e-mail on the phone and not an external server.

This warning is especially for BES users.  You'll be fine.  Update now!

  • Convenient to blackBerry Smartphones, based on recommended experience device (f/w? /) s/w version (s) for all PC activities oriented the TELUS Mobility BB Tour 9630

Hey all the... I wonder if I can pick the brains of the people and get good advice re: practice based experience recommended device (f/w? /) s/w version (s) for all PC activities oriented the TELUS Mobility BB Tour 9630, including PC-resident s/w (pkgs) & USB / USB Serial drivers (on XP Pro SP3).

I will probably be wanting to improve various (f/w? /) components s/w after a hiatus of three years on the BB before... However, based on my own experience of technology, newer / more recent (f/w?) / s/w (pkgs) is (are) not always the best for the end user and, same can be limiting in some identifiable ways... I'm speaking in general terms here... so... it might be the last BB s/w is the absolute best way to go for my PC o/s and turn device platform... I'm just out there throwing this idea to make a educated to determine what updates to install and what level of version, in the case where the generalized suspicion that I have described above have no worth.

I don't have (or want) data enabled on the 9630, then, have screen capture or copied the text that he (like all the information in the Options > topic: "BlackBerry (R) 9630, smartphone (3G, CDMA), v5.0.0.419 (Platform 4.2.0.179)", 3G bands 1... "") ([and, or course, there is much more information on this screen...]) me (any suggestion or help on this front would be greatly appreciated) have so far escaped... perhaps the most relevant appliance version information required by the members of the forum to help me to decide this question also appear in my PC screenshots below.

Here's what I left over on my PC from my relationships with my BB Storm 9530 3 years ago:

    Thank you, FFF

Hello! Thanks for the clarification... they help greatly to understand your request. Here is my opinion:

    Frankenstien wrote:

In simpler terms... should I upgrade my TELUS Tour 9630 software (currently at: v5.0.0.419 [Platform 4.2.0.179] of the most currently available software, regardless of the version # / platform # which may be?)

Or, is it an advantage in the upgrade only to a certain level of version of BlackBerry OS on this particular device?

For your 9630, you're already on the last level of operating system that fate/Telus media. I don't know if other carriers have published anything more advanced, but you can read a very good discussion here:

Of after what I saw, I would assume that there is nothing 'new' than you... at least not officially... but you can dig through the portal to download official to validate the fact that:

Given that it's carriers who hold responsibility for the release of BB OS packages to their clients, this portal is indeed sorted first by carrier... so you must first dig to find out which carriers support your 9630 and then compare packages of OS coming to present each company support. Unfortunately, it is also the responsibility of carriers to release change log information, but too much of them is rather lax on this point. But this thread I linked to above has I think some very good information that could help you in your quest. You should also look for other threads here (and elsewhere) on similar topics.

And, I had to upgrade the driver USB BlackBerry / USB Serial Driver / Device Manager / Desktop Manager software on my XP Pro SP 3 PC to newer versions? (1st post screenshots all present the current version # s... this software was installed all around mid-2009)

Or, is there an advantage in upgrading only at certain levels of version of the BlackBerry software for each of the above elements... in the case of this particular device?

Desktop software does not care the specific device. On the contrary, it gives some capabilities that you choose. For example, if you need the ability to export your BB to CSV/ASCII, then you need to stay in the range of version 6 because this feature has been removed from version 7. Similarly, if you intend to synchronize your BB with a computer (-) office or PIM, you must make sure that you run a Desktop software version that is compatible with your PIM:

    • KB12268 Support for synchronization for BlackBerry Desktop Software for Windows

If none of those that are important and/or compatibility is fine with the latest version, it is often wiser to stick to the latest bug fixes, feature enhancements, etc. Is doesn't want to is not to say that people have no problems with the latest version through the Desktop board software on this site is confirm that pretty quickly! But, in general, there should be no harm/no foul to the use of the latest version of the with your BB desktop software.

In addition, it is always a good idea to also download and install on your PC the BB OS package that is actually running on your BB. This is a little personalized Desktop software so that it can better work with your specific environment of BB. You cannot choose which components within the desktop software you want to update (mentioning "point line" you did)... instead, you install the whole package, and it contains within everything there as 'in progress' based on the global version of the Desktop software package.

    Hope that helps! Good luck!

  • BlackBerry smartphones download old Version of BB Desktop Software

    Hi all!

I just downloaded MagicBerry so that I can get my SMS on my PC. It works well for backups, I did a long time ago, in the IPD format, but fails with most recent backups. So I want to use an older version of the desktop software so that I can get an RPI update to open with MagicBerry.

Can anywhere tell me a download of the installer for a version of the desktop software that can do it (I think the version I used was version 5)?

  • BlackBerry Smartphones how reset the active device in the Desktop Manager?

    Hello

I lost my old phone blackberry (Curve 8320) and replaced by a new (Bold 9700). I want to put the new phone as the active device for my manager to Desktoip. Whenever I connect the new phone, it is listed as "Device connected" but my old phone still appears as "active Instrument '. When I connect the new phone, it also gives me an option to change to the new company profile. But when I click on 'Yes' it still shows the old phone as 'active Instrument '. How can I reset this setting so that my new phone becomes the active device. I use Desktop Manager version 5.0.1 and I do not wish to move to 6 because I use the Desktop Redirector functionality in version 5.0.1 which is absent from the v6. Thank you.

    John,

So I figured out how to reset (w/o call my IT dept ). In order to reset the current device:

    1. If you use MS Exchange directly: create a new profile through control-> e-mail settings panel.

    2. If downloading emails from exchange server to local folder, and then add a new pst file and make it the default.

After making the above, restart the Desktop Manager and follow the instructions.

    Thank you.

  • Smartphones blackBerry V6 desktop software / V5

    My phone is a Storm 9530 w / os V5.

Is the software of office than V6 supposed to work with a phone that has the V5? My software has an option to update from V5 to V6, but when I do this it does not click on the "apply" button to update the changes that I'm trying to do over the phone! I installed it on several pc and it does not apply changes on a pc.

The current version on my Storm 9530 is V5. If I try to update my phone, it says there is no update available. Is there an another update for this model of phone, or I just need to keep the desktop V5 software?

    Thank you

Does anyone know if the 8530 software can be run on the 8330 without problems?  If Yes, what is the best way to update with the new software?

    No no no.

The 8530 GET it's own device software and the 8330 gets its own software for the device.

Hello. Recently, my Pearl 8100 went swimming with me and drowned. Before his death, I backup data via Desktop Manager. The device has now been replaced by a Pearl 8110. I am now trying to import the previous addresses/contacts address which is held on the 8100 via the Desktop Manager but can't seem to find them. I don't have have the 8100, but hoped there is a way to recover my address book/contacts via desktop manager or other files in my PC, I better start typing...

    Thanks in advance.

The backup, you say you have run would have created, somewhere on your PC hard drive an ipd file... Search your entire hard drive for *.ipd. Review results (date/time) and then use one of the people as a source for the process of restoration in DTM.
