  Hey. Just a little Q now, especially my app works fine - thanks gentlemen -when the user logs out of a phone call, my code first updates the app icon, then displays a box of dialog.inform.

  When you test in the 9000 Simulator, if I use the arrow key to the left to close the dialog box, it works very well and the icon is updated. But when I click the end call (red button) to close the dialog.inform even, the icon is not updated.

  Ideas for a workaround, or is there an alternative to the dialog box that displays a message and has not this oddity? I tried to use updateDisplay and repaint, but no dice.

  in a normal UiApplication of red button called requestBackground. You can disable this by registering a KeyListener and return the knob.

  I'm developing a game for bb 9000 (4.6.0) and I would like the game stops when the user switches to another application (e.g. by pressing the red button or answer a phone call)

  I use threads to make the game work and there are a few static variables that I use to test if the shutdown or not the game.

  For example, if I press 'p' I can to pause the game.

  But... I can't find a way to pause the game if a call comes in or if the user presses the red button.

  In general, if there is an event which put back the application plan, I would like to pause the game.

  Do you know how to help me?

  Blackberry question, why don't have an application like Viber or Skype where users who have blackberry as 9900 or the 9860 in which the two phones have front camera could Skype call or an application like viber in the blackberry users can call on voip... it is a reall fall in expected an app for blackberry for almost a year rang also edge to do something about IT... most users go for iphone so because of these two applications that maintains the connected in time video reall... enjoy some answer on this...

  It is perhaps a question better directed to Skype and not HERE in the forums.  Skype has an application for BlackBerry, but it is only available to U.S. subscribers using Verizon.  (This information can be updated to date, it's updated information I have.)  Given that these forums are composed (not the right choice of words) of volunteers who love BlackBerry phones and not by RIM developers, your chances of getting the answer you are looking for may be thin.

  I found some decisions.  However, I think that they don't block rim to make improvements in their interface to reduce the likelihood of accidental 9-1-1 calls.

  The current interface allows the call 9-1-1 with two or three clicks that is easy to do in a Pocket (ask any 9-1-1 officer).   RIM should consider changing the interface such that after clicking on "Make an emergency call" the user must always dial the '9' - '1' - '1' in the order.  This does not delay the user any more than ordinary 9-1-1 call from a phone that is locked or asleep.  This should however prevent a significant number of accidental 9-1-1-calls

  I didn't really need my phone to Flash a red light whenever I get by e-mail. Someone can tell me how to change it so that it either is not flash at all, or only flashes with msg text or phone call.

  From your home screen, click on the speaker icon in the upper left corner, under the date.  In the pop-up window, select change sounds and alerts.  Click on sounds for the selected profile.  Click on Messages - authors of notifications.  Click on your e-mail and Visual alerts (LED), change to off.  Press menu, and select Save.

• Find blackBerry Smartphones and calling Contacts is ridiculous - not to try while you are driving.

  I have 2800 contacts in my new storm.  To call it by its name, I should be able to go to my phone, dial pad and start typing the name of family - say 72782 for PASTA and one by one the phone to refine my choices until I can see and that you can click on the right one.  But no, the storm requires a user go to Contacts and then click on a line of tiny human finger cannot possible just touch the first time and then start letters in horizontal mode, because God forbid, you should try the method of double letters vertically.  Forget it!  In many other aspects, it is a good phone and the brightness of the screen and the size is wonderful for internet and electronic mail.  But without an easy way to access my contacts, this phone will come back tomorrow.  BlackBerry, wake up!

  A dial contacts hands is easy.  Theres a shortcut.

  If you press the Send button storm Green will go to dial (as the installer of the factory) pad.

  If you press and hold the Green send button, storm will got to the contact page.  Then take your finger and the sweep of the screen from the bottom to the top and the keyboard will go up.  Then just type the name you want and contact will go up.

  Actually using this technique is very nice and can be done with strikes a minimum!

  Greetings!  I have the opportunity to keep only the last 30 days of messages (text, Blackberry messengers, MMS, etc.) together and it seems to work fine.  But it is not getting rid of MISSED CALL entries in my list that date back to the day (6 months ago), I bought the camera (curve).  Y at - it another option to clear the list of missed calls?  Just annoys me!  Sooner or later, memory fill.

  Missed calls can be removed from your list of messages, if you want to. From the home screen, press the green call button, press the menu/blackberry button and click 'options '. Go to "Call logging" and set it to 'none '. That will remove the missed calls from the message list, but not your call logs.

• BlackBerry Smartphones missed calls are missing!

  I am very new to the BlackBerry platform and just start getting used to my new Pearl 8130.  When I miss a call, it says that I have a missed call, but for the life of me, I can't find a way to see who has call I missed. In the call log, it shows a box where I can enter numbers to call, and from there I can also access the calls I placed. I'm sure that there is an incredibly easy solution to my dilemma I'm simply dominating, but can someone help me here?

  to start, go to your phone app: phone app-> blackberry button (left side of the trackball)-> call logging-> make sure you all calls is selected.  see if this fixes your problem, if not, made me know and we'll see if my technical team can come up with solutions.

• BlackBerry Smartphones Double flashing red light after failed update - can not turn on!

  Hello! When I installed my BB Desktop Manager and connect for the first time in my Bold 9700, he asked if I'd like to update various features on my phone, to which I agreed. The update froze - I do not altogether during that stage, but I remember that it is in the stages end as well as the scene in which he froze began with the JVM. After waiting an hour or two, I have disconnected my Blackberry, not knowing what to do. The screen stays black and the red light starts flashing.

  I looked up the fixes for the problem and they seemed a JL_Cmdr used to do a full wipe - simple - but I am on Windows 7 and it is not compatible. I get a brief command prompt screen for half a second before it closed.

  The second difficulty involved using the command prompt to get the charger in the AppLoader file - but I ran into another problem when trying to open Loader.exe, I have one "the Application Loader requires Blackberry device manager to install.

  Then raising THAT fix, I downloaded a new OS and redownloaded the Desktop Manager, but I get the same error.

  It's really depressing. Any advice or assistance would be greatly appreciated.

  JL_CMDR works fine in Win7. Don't launch from the file Explorer. Instead, open a command box (start > run > CMD). Then browse (just like in the BACK) where it is and run it from the command line.

  A parent showed me how Tango works on his phone.  I want this app, but it is not available for the torch.  Does anyone know of another application?  I like the Tango!

  Any phone that supports video calls would have a front and a rear facing camera.  Currently, no BlackBerry phone does include such a feature, so I guess that none will support video calling.

  This is normally a message 'Level 1' flag.  Messages coming in and are set up as 'Level 1' will be highlighted... in your case, red, in other models and providers that they can be bold.

  To change to normal email (Google, Yahoo!, etc.), connect to your provider's Web site and go to where you Manager your email addresses through their service.  Check the filters that you have for the phone... you can then add or edit to designate which emails come out as 'Level 1' messages highlighted.  I have mine set for my wife, for example.

  If you have a Blackberry Enterprise Server through your business you can also change the priority, through them, as well as via the Options > Advanced Options > Security Options > General settings, and then change the settings there.

  In addition, you can change the way your phone notifies you (even if you can not change the color) by going to your profile, select the profile, press the menu key (left of trackball), select Edit and then settings level 1 Messages.

  If that doesn't help or you have any other questions, I would like to know or contact your service provider.  Hope that helps!

  iBought thie 7100 off craigslist. the seller claims that there is no problem. the phone 'forgot' all calls and SMS that I've made since the passage on the phone. all the texts of my previous phone are there, but all texts & phone log since I use the 7100 disappeared. I registration of phone and ensured that it has been on "all calls" logging no help. I buy a lemon?

• BlackBerry smartphones cannot call or receive calls

  Hello

  I have the following problem and hope someone can help me with it:

  • Since yesterday my phone don't make me call or receive calls. In both cases, I get a "call failed". I see a connection activity in the upper right corner in both cases.
  • I use a prepaid card of Fonic/O2 where I can ask my balance by "call" * # 101. Normally it takes a few seconds to get the balance, now it takes much more time. Now, often even, I don't get my balance, but a "supplementary service error: General error:
  • I am still able to send text messages (but there was also a message that could not be sent).
  • Receive any text message does not seem to work.
  • A Wi - Fi connection works as usual.
  • When I put my sim card in another phone, everything works perfectly fine.
  • I was not trying to put another sim card in my blackberry.

  My phone sometimes called random numbers in my contacts list.  Phone is turned on but not keys, phone calls just a number... Usually, it's my dad and MOM... come on has understand... but is that sometimes when I go in and out of coverage areas, my phone will just my number of parents.  I know that I have great parents... even my phone love em.  This happen to anyone else?

  If I keep my phone in my front pocket (I wear rub) my phone call my son. I'll suddenly hear "Hello, help, I'm in your pocket, let me out."  And I look, and of course, I called my eldest son!  My keys are apparently sensitive, so I try to remember to press the button on the top that will put the phone in sleep mode. By allowing for the call and coming messages but prevents me to call my son in my Pocket!
