  Hello

  I have a blackberry torch last week and beat me to configure yahoo mail and access the facebook application.  I don't have an option to add the internet e-mail (POP) only one company in my email settings! all ideas welcome?

  I am also struggling to access the Facebook app - when I open it say that my package does not support! I checked with my carrier and everything is ok their end! The Facebook Chat application works very well!  I was previously using a Nokia N8 and all these functions has functioned and my carrier and tarrif have not changed!

  As a user of BB newby, I tried everything I can think of.  I'd appreciate any tips and tricks, so I don't have to sell and go back to my Nokia.

  To use FaceBook and the ability to e-mail Push RIM owner, you must have an adequate data of your carrier plan. Data for devices plans non - BB are different from those of BB devices. Carriers BIS (BlackBerry Internet Service) host for their BB users. In general, BIS is not available through generic data plans. Several ships make stop what is needed the Blackberry data plan. Whatever they call it, it is the carrier that delivers BIS users of BB - contact - the for assistance. Once you have a compatible BIS data plan on your BB (fees regardless of your carrier will charge, btw), then you will have personal email added to the e-mail Setup Wizard.

• BlackBerry Smartphones my BB suddenly stopped to receive messages

  When I turned on my BB tour this morning he has not received all e-mail messages. I checked and the network is enabled and working and I can receive calls.   I suggest the following, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2, each should result in a message to your BB to come...) Please wait for this before moving on to the next step):

  (1) registry HRT

  • KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with wireless network

  (2) remove and return Service directories

  • KB05000 Remove the maintenance book for the BlackBerry Internet Service email account in the BlackBerry smartphone
  • KB02830 Send the directories for the BlackBerry Internet Service

  (3) restart to take batt

  • Each time a random strange behavior or slow creeps, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the hood back and remove the battery. Wait a minute, then replace the battery and cover. Power on and wait patiently through the long reboot - about 5 minutes. See if things return to functioning. Like all computing devices, BB suffers from memory leaks and others... with a hard reboot is the best remedy.

  I hope that will move things again for you! If not, then you should try remove and re-add your BIS lines for these accounts.

  Yep... sure can, as long as you always have a BlackBerry BIS data Plan on your account, you can use only (data WiFi turned off).  But you still have the data Plan.

  We have a restriction in our Organization in the world of the app, and we make a point of Contact for Facebook and Twitter applications. We want to allow users to download/access some applications only.

  We plan to publish this on the combined user thorugh BES. Can someone tell me where can I get the Installer (alx and COD) for Facebook and Twitter. Also, is it safe to use these files in the installation of the company, I want to say there is no problem right?

  Hi Ashish,

  Glad to hear that you have consulted with your BES administrator. Have you tried to ask the BES Admin giving you temporary credentials to get the files you need.

  If this is not possible, continue and then talk with your BES administrator to find the files for your POC on Facebook and Twitter. Please follow the steps as your Admin BES asks you to do (if given by Admin).

  OK, well, it still works on some sites, but on most the websites when I go to them, a box appears that says:

  In addition, it could be that Web sites have been modified so that they are more well interact with the settings inside your BB browser.  You BB browser has many parameters which can interact better wth different websites. More importantly, I think that how your BB identifies a website seems to make the most difference - starting in the browser, press the BBKey, then select Options. In the "Browser Configuration" screen, there are several options that can be useful. "Browser Identification" option is that who I think made the more than difference more often - on mine, I can have my BB identify Web sites as a BB, IE or FF browser, producing different results in websites coded better for one or other of these browsers.

  Try fiddling around with different settings to find the combination that best meets your needs. Sorry, but there is no 'best' recommendations for the right combination - everyone's needs are unique, requiring a single solution for them... and only they can find since only they need.

  How can I keep the Facebook [CICAL] are taking over my calendar whenever I want on Facebook. After I closed out of Facebook, I have to go to my service books and to remove it, otherwise it becomes my default calendar. When it is, I can't sync my calendar with iCal, I have a Mac. I can tell by looking at an entry because it is blue and purple is my default calendar.

  Well, I have solved my problem. I realized that I don't no [cical] for any of my emails and that is why facebook has tried to become my default calendar. Now I have to redo all the entries anyway, plus those that I just set default IE and I need to create a new one for the timing. Woohoo I have things to do on my lunch break, 2 breaks and my day off on Wednesday.

  If someone knows a way faster than you re-create each unique event, reocurring one, appointments, b-days, and anniversarries, etc., let me know...

• BlackBerry Smartphones Facebook app has no icon "favorite places".

  My wife has a BB Torch, and we do not find the "Favorite places" icon on the Ribbon or banner of the Facebook app.  I pressed the menu button and control options, but there is nothing in there.  I tried to check the updates from the front but it was leaving tick check automatically.  GPS location is enabled in system properties.  Any suggestions?

  I recently had to do a wipe, and since then I can not change the options in my Facebook BlackBerry App to sync with my calendar; It is all grey and unselectable.

  Remove your Facebook app in Options > Advanced Options > Applications.

  Reinstall it from www.blackberry.com/facebook and when running through the Facebook set up the wizard, see if you are now able to connect to your calendar.

  Hi all

  Have recently upgraded via the updater for Facebook v1.8.0.49 appworld

  In the previous version when a notification came through Facebook it would make appear an icon on the home screen of facebook and NOT send an email to the email address on blackberry.

  For example, I have an email address BIS set up on my camera (mobileemail.vodafone.net) and also have the blackberry facebook app messaging service enable (checked) in the facebook app and also the "blackberry Smartphone notifcation" checked in the facebook of PC through iexplorer.

  Before only facebook notifications came as the app or facebook knew it was the same address, since the upgrade I now get both an email to my BIS email account and a notification icon appears.

  I change anything in the options.

  (now tried logging in and out, reticking options, etc, nothing)

  Y at - it a new option, or is this a bug of upgrade. The application of face book has only delete the email and now sends to the device?

  Since typing this my wife with the 8520 just told me that she has the same problem.

  Does anyone else have this?

  This isn't a major problem as long as at least I'm getting a nowt rather than email and notification.

  I'm totally new to Blackberry, and I find it very frustrating with an action of 'Check' security software often happening on my phone. The screen goes black with the Blackberry logo, and a white line slowly updates. Everything that happens I can't action one of the buttons.

  It passes through loads of ticks and said passed safety tests. But this action has not prevented frequent checking.

  Hello again everyone, well I messed with my phone and now something is going. I use the facebook app and when I get the notification it comes in the form of the f at the top, but also in the messages. It makes me crazy to think that I got a facebook and a different text. It's not until I go to two places that I learned that they are one and the same. Does anyone know how to fix this?

  Also, I just discovered the sample photos, not not seen them so far, they are pretty cool. Anyone know if you can change the background behind icons, as in landscape mode without having to get a theme? I'm not crazy to make a theme, but I'm tempted to the dark and I would like to see something different besides the phone in portrait to see the photo.

  I want to just make sure that if I uncheck the message option in the options for facebook, I will always receive notifications, right?

  Also, could someone recommend some themes treated? I know there are a lot out there and I have no idea what I would. I'm just really tired of the black and I use the phone in landscape for most.

  Did you mean that your emails and text messages are coming in the same folder? If so then try the following-

  Separate messages-> Options-> General Options-> E-mail and SMS: separate

  If you mean your different built-in emails appearing in mail and separate mail folder then please be informed that this default happenes. BlackBerry smartphone is designed as such if you think this is awkward, can hide Messages folder (press the Alt button-> click-> Menu select hide).
