BlackBerry Smartphones foreign in a strange land...

Gentlepeople:

I got a Blackberry Curve 3 g 9300 (v6.0.0.534 platform 6.6.6.200) a few days and I feel like I jumped into the deep end of the pool.  Before the weekend, I had only used a cell phone - any phone - only once before. Accordingly, the learning curve for me on the Blackberry is not just steep, it's bloody vertical.

My provider is Koodo, and they were very patient with my beginner status. I only had a basic plan, so I don't really get the extras. My basic reason for the phone was in first place because only pay phones in my area no longer exist. Try to call home when I was absent was a real frustration. So far, I've plodded through the Web and learn how to retrieve voicemail. I still don't know how the text yet, but I think I'm closer. On the only other thing that I really want to do is to learn how to transfer a picture of my dog (a crazy border collie) from my computer to the Blackberry to use as paper painted. I downloaded the Blackberry to help do that... everythink is part of the learning curve.

Thanks for listening. I can't wait to learn more about these pages... (a big assumption) .assuming I understand what you are talking about in the first place.

See you soon...

Michael

"Blackberry should display a sign on their devices: 'Ago gotta be smarter than the phone'." No, I don't have a media card. Neglected to pick up, when I registered. The software seems simple enough, so when I finally obtain, the universe should unfold as it should... Thanks a lot for your help...

There is a setting in the game that allows you to receive daily updates. Look in the game > options for it and disable it.

The version of the OS in the mine is 7.1.0.746 (2108), I was invited by the service 7.1 bundle downgrade and backup center 1646, which I am not ready to do what it takes forever and I have to reinstall all the software back and set up e-mail. What would you suggest?

This happens usually when application runs in the background, or because of any unknown third-party application installed within our system, or due to lack of memory. Reboot to shoot some time A battery is enough to solve this problem. If press and hold the Menu for a few seconds, it will appear a screen that will display all the programs running in the background, usually five will always be there (host, BBM, Message, phone, browser) you can always check if any other applications. are running in the background, if they then close them properly.

We should always try to close Applications correctly - avoid using key end to close the applications because it just minimizes the application and let it run in the background. Instead, press the Menu key, select close or Exit to exit the application. Do not leave your browser open on a page of Web active when not in use. If programs are running in the background, that this will lead to problems that you are experiencing now. • Strange problem BIS of blackBerry Smartphones

    Hello

I have a bb torch that has been saved to my former network uk, I got the orange uk/bis registered torch (and double checked), anyway I live in Spain and have signed a unique contract sim blackberry now. I wiped the fone, jumped out of the sim card in and let it boot. I got the message "your device is now registered with the wireless network" and the 3G is in capitals with the bb icon, but I can't use anything. And when I go in the State, he told me that I am not connected to the BIS, which is strange, I got the bb next to the signal issued. If I open the e-mail Setup Wizard, it tells me that I am not connected and request password of bes etc..

I can't return the directories of service cos I can't connect!

    Can anyone help?

Hello and welcome to the community!

It is always difficult to get a BB to work on another network. I'll assume that your level voice services work very well... otherwise which may indicate you need to unlock your BB from its original support.

It is possible that Orange is not completely unregister the BIS account. Sometimes you can run on another carrier still using your old BIS carriers for a short period... to catch up and completely remove account. In any case, it's the service books of your new provider you need.

I suggest the following, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2, each should result in a message to your BB to come...) Please wait for this before moving on to the next step):

    (1) registry HRT

    • KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with wireless network

    (2) remove and return Service directories

    • KB05000 Remove the maintenance book for the BlackBerry Internet Service email account in the BlackBerry smartphone
    • KB02830 Send the directories for the BlackBerry Internet Service

    (3) restart to take batt

    • Each time a random strange behavior or slow creeps, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the hood back and remove the battery. Wait a minute, then replace the battery and cover. Power on and wait patiently through the long reboot - about 5 minutes. See if things return to functioning. Like all computing devices, BB suffers from memory leaks and others... with a hard reboot is the best remedy.

If your new carrier natively your model of BB, that would put the SBs downwards. (Note that, in this KB, there are several methods to ask the SBs, including talking to your carrier and making them push).

If, however, your BB model is not supported by your operator, then they can have the ability to push the Service books on you... much only push for accurate BB models they support. If this is the case, then you'll have very delicate things to do in order to get it to work fully on that carrier... is feasible, but it is quite difficult.

So I suggest, you make the foregoing and keep working with your new carrier to try to get this resolved. You'll have to maybe talk to Orange once again just to be sure... you new carrier should know very soon... a BB PIN can have that one in the world, your new carrier BIS account would be impossible to create a BIS for your PIN account if Orange didn't him has not fully released. You may also need them (your carriers) to climb ABOARD for formal support from there.

    Good luck!

I hope that will move things again for you! If this isn't the case, then you need to get in touch with your service provider and insist that they honor the formal support that they are contractually required to provide you with. Do not let you fob before having 100% solved the situation. If they tell you to contact RIM, don't let them not on the hook, then either... insist that they tell you exactly how you should contact RIM. If they say anything OTHER that they will increase you rim (for example, if they tell you to independently seek the support of the RIM), and then accept it. Only through an escalation of your service provider can you receive all official support from RIM.

Looks like they have made significant changes to their network... and they must ensure that their paying customers will continue to receive the services that they pay.

There is virtually no diagnosis of those - they are the equivalent of random errors in Windows for which trace the root cause is futile. Basically, here's the last out in the programming code - some event occurred for which there is no event handler in the code. The patch is an update of the code that handles the event... but, again, what is the event is almost impossible. So, there are a few things to try:

Yet another method is to recharge the BB OS itself, leaving little time between the addition of other applications on the BB in order to be able to determine exactly what is the cause.

Alternative methods to implement the newspapers are in this KB:

    • KB05349 How to activate, view, and extract the the event logs on a BlackBerry smartphone

The other method is to remove the apps one at a time, wait a while between the two (I usually recommend a week), until the problem stops... revealing the offending application. Yet another method is to recharge the BB OS itself, leaving little time between the addition of other applications on the BB in order to be able to determine exactly what is the cause.

Good luck and let us know!
