  I juz received a blackberry storm 9500 of my sister, and I don't know how to connect it to wifi (I'm very new to this). I tried google and found different answers, ranging from "storm 9500 cannot connect to wifi", "I'm an and it can connect just fine. I can't find the wifi option in the 'manage' link, and there is either no browser on the homescreen icon.

  Can someone tell me how to connect to wifi (it can be connected)? My carrier provider is at & t btw.

  The original models of Storm (9500/9530) have no WiFi radio and therefore cannot use the WiFi. Models Storm2 (9520/9550) added, among other things, WiFi capability. Thus, with a 9500, you have no WiFi radio and so cannot use WiFi services.

  I searched for the blackberry storm 9530 touch long tone function without being the solution. In order to save money on long distance, I use the phone card to dial in long distance. But I can not send the phone number in my contacts as tones. The only way is to enter the phone number to hand.

  This is a very useful feature that has all the basic cell phone. Does anyone know how I can send the phone number (which is already in my contacts) as "tones"?

  for example, live GPS is a battery eater. Use of Bluetooth while talking also battery consumes. And of course, the 6 h of communication along assumes you have a perfect network coverage. In order to have 2 hours, it's a little weak, but not surprising for a smartphone.

  Hello everyone, I have a few hiccups with my 9500 Storm, here are two snags:

  (1) when I activate and connect via bluetooth to any device it will not transfer any files to my Blackberry but it will transfer without problems to the other device! I played with some parameters as the manufacture of the device's confidence and also one, but will not receive any files of another period of phone! Although the phone works without any problem with my bluetooth stereo in the car!

  (2) internet on my phone is formidable, he should be fine with a 3 g signal but doesn't work correctly only with a GPRS signal? I'm on Vodafone in the United Kingdom by the way!

  For the number of BT, what exact steps you lead? Try the following steps (after, of course, have paired both devices completely) is:

  On the storm, navigate to the folder that you want to the files are located in

  Media > BB button > Explorer

  Navigate to your folder of destination of your choice

  BBKey > receive via Bluetooth

  On the other device, start sending

  With the older OS levels (which, being a product of end of LIFE, is that your 9520 can have all), in fact there was a restriction on the native browser requiring the purchase of a package of sufficient data to be able to use the browser, even via WiFi. It's just the way it was. With new levels of OS (only available, naturally, for the most recent non - EOL products), this restriction has been removed, and the browser can be used with the WiFi only and no associated data plan. I wish it was different... but it's not.

  BlackBerry devices in fact are very complicated... they have not really made for the occasional user who depended on things to be simple and easy. And this is especially true for older models of devices, as yours is. Unfortunately, being a former and device at the end of LIFE, there is no level of available most recent OS and therefore, none of the latest easy to use features are available for this model.

  I wish that the situation was better for you, but unfortunately it isn't and is a consequence of choosing such an old and device for end of LIFE.

  We have several blackberry devices works on our professional Server (v4.1.4.15), however, we now have a user with a storm. We can't locate the device where to plug the server information and the auto-generated password?

  I don't have the camera in front of me so I can't just go around in it to know where to go, I'm talking about a user through it at the other end.

  Someone would be likely to make me know, from a very basic start screen, where to intervene in this device so that we can activate it with our professional server?

  So it turns out that it was because the user doesn't have that good data plan on his phone. He called the carrier, changed to a business plan, now the icon appears.

  Hi, I just got my bb storm today and used the media transfer software that comes with the storm. I have conncected to my computer and added to the storm. When I try to go to the media and trying to find the songs it says I have nothing. ! ? ! ? I'm trying to find files via explore under card media and music folder and its empty! but when I've plug it back the computer and use the software to manage my songs it says its there? Help.

  Can you try to check for the songs real media card?  To do this, open Windows Explorer and look under your computer, for your BlackBerry smart phone listed as two separate disks.  One will be the media card, the other will be the internal memory on your phone.  See if your songs are there.  If they are not, then the songs simply didn't transfer.  If necessary, you can just manually transfer your files by copying and pasting the course to the media card.

  Just an another troubleshooting suggestions and a work-around for now.

  Looks like you put in the wrong password for the device.  now, you must type the word blackberry to continue entering the device password.  After a few attempts over the wrong password, your phone will wipe itself.

  One of the drawbacks of being a Verizon customer for me in the past was that I could never use my device during stays in holiday trade.

  But now that I have this incredible storm with a SIM car built in... I have reason to think I should be able to use this device on the international level?

  Someone at - it no experience or knowledge of how I'm going to do? Is it fair to assume that I what would also have access to the data, or am I asking too much?

  The storm should work in more places than on any other device you have.  Don't forget to connect with Verizon's global service (there is information that comes with the phone on, its special service and they have an international number) and make sure that the phone is enabled for international use.  THIS IS CRUCIAL.   You can also ask them what countries they take over.   Essentially the SIM card that comes with the storm's of Vodaphone, so does anyone have a joint contract with Vodafone should work.

  When you talk to Verizon, tell them that you spend long periods abroad and you want to use other SIM cards in your phone.  They will be open to you.  So, if you find a place that does not support the agreement of vodaphone, you can pick up a local SIM card and put it in the BB. Of course, then you don't have a local number, but then you have something.

  Yesterday, I was prompted to install an update to BB for my Storm. I and now can't send or receive e-mails. I went to the site of Bell to make sure that the PIN was correct etc and it is, but it won't let me enter the MEID #.

  In other words, if you are in a meeting and on vibrate or silent mode, the phone will ring always if a call is received by a contact with a custom ring tone.  It is a defect and design MAJOR, in my view, totally unacceptable.  On all other BBs, vibrate and silent mode apply to all calls/messages - even those with custom ringtones.  Why is different from the storm.  He made the custom meaningless since once assigned ringtones, they can never extinguish. so for BB users who regularly attend meetings beware!  Assign a custom ring tone will be a career limiting move.

  As a loyal BB user for 5 years and more, I humbly ask RIM to fix this ASAP!

  I guess that when I changed it to the volume of the active profile that it would float to the active profile, being far away when it is to vibrate or silent or normal.  That doesn't seem to be the case.  It would be more logical than sense, though.

  However, I made a temporary fix.  I created a custom profile I call silent default.  I put the ringtone in this profile to:

  Ringtone: Ringer_ClassicPhone

  Volumeilent

  LED: Normal setting

  Vibration: on

  This causes the vibration when one of the call of people custom ringtone.

  When I enter an appointment in my calendar from device, and then try Outlook 2003 calendar SYC, it will not be synchronized (appointments appear in my Outlook calendar).  If I enter my Outlook calendar appointment it will synchronize the appointments on my device.  I have entered in the configuration of the Fund Manager and assign the two-way synchronization. Still no luck.

  I found the problem.  When you create a new appointment, there is an article that says "send help:" this is a list of all email addresses you receive from emails on your Blackberry.  In some ways, the email address was changed to another.  This has caused the problem of synchronization.  Once I changed it to one that was already there, the two way sync worked.

  I still don't know where you configure what email address it uses.  If someone knows let me know.  Or email to three addresses are emails that I synchronize in Outlook.

  Hello to all... great forum here and glad I found it.

  I try to get my Storm to synchronize with bluetooth to my BlueAnt Z9i headset.  When I try and add the device, then search, the storm cannot locate.  Y at - it something I am doing wrong, or is - it due to a firmware, the device update can need?  Do I need a different helmet?

  The BlueAnt worked very well with my BB 8830 World phone.
