  Please excuse my ignorance. I am very new to develop Blackberry applications. I use Eclipse that I have some experience with Java, although not much. Part of my problem is that I do not own a Blackberry, I'm doing this to help a friend. I spent the the last few days reading or watching the tutorials and passing by the code example and have now managed to create a couple of screens for my application.

  The only time I've ever seen anything like that on a Blackberry is on the 9550 Simulator provided with my Eclipse plugin. What I was wondering if there is a way for me to use the buttons as the standard buttons that I see on the Simulator or whatever I have to do my own bitmaps. Like these:--

  The function of 'transition' (sliding screenes in) is available on OS 5.0. See the Transitions API.

  You may not use these logos existing app (you called buttons?)-they are part of the RIM.

  You cannot use the toolbar existing - it must invent your own.

  That said, you can certainly duplicate these features if you spend a little time to understand the architecture of the user interface and existing controls.

  I am in a group of blackberry with some friends and we have two problems.

  First of all our administrator (we had only one) blackberry were damaged by water and if she had to get a new blackberry. So now, we can assign anyone to be the new administrator. I don't know if it fixed the phone water damaged or just thrown away, all I know is that she got a new phone.

  Kari, been there who makes only a single user is the Admin group and leave the group.

  If the old Admin is back with a new BlackBerry, they must always be in the group if they ever did a backup of OTA BBM and then restore the backup.

  Otherwise, delete the group, or abandon it and start a new.

  Once in the new group, assign Admin privileges to more than one user.

  (This time to voice mail) is not a feature of BlackBerry but is controlled by your mobile operator.

  And not a feature request (I'll ask a moderator to move this post).

  As a standard, most all carriers have a value default 15 seconds of ringtime until voicemail picks up. Which can be extended to 30 seconds.
  If you do not need additional ring time before voicemail, the simplest method is to call your operator and ask a longer time of the ring, up to 30 seconds.

  With the older OS levels (which, being a product of end of LIFE, is that your 9520 can have all), in fact there was a restriction on the native browser requiring the purchase of a package of sufficient data to be able to use the browser, even via WiFi. It's just the way it was. With new levels of OS (only available, naturally, for the most recent non - EOL products), this restriction has been removed, and the browser can be used with the WiFi only and no associated data plan. I wish it was different... but it's not.

  BlackBerry devices in fact are very complicated... they have not really made for the occasional user who depended on things to be simple and easy. And this is especially true for older models of devices, as yours is. Unfortunately, being a former and device at the end of LIFE, there is no level of available most recent OS and therefore, none of the latest easy to use features are available for this model.

  I wish that the situation was better for you, but unfortunately it isn't and is a consequence of choosing such an old and device for end of LIFE.

  I juz received a blackberry storm 9500 of my sister, and I don't know how to connect it to wifi (I'm very new to this). I tried google and found different answers, ranging from "storm 9500 cannot connect to wifi", "I'm an and it can connect just fine. I can't find the wifi option in the 'manage' link, and there is either no browser on the homescreen icon.

  Can someone tell me how to connect to wifi (it can be connected)? My carrier provider is at & t btw.

  Hello

  The original models of Storm (9500/9530) have no WiFi radio and therefore cannot use the WiFi. Models Storm2 (9520/9550) added, among other things, WiFi capability. Thus, with a 9500, you have no WiFi radio and so cannot use WiFi services.

  So it turns out that it was because the user doesn't have that good data plan on his phone. He called the carrier, changed to a business plan, now the icon appears.

  Hi, I just got my bb storm today and used the media transfer software that comes with the storm. I have conncected to my computer and added to the storm. When I try to go to the media and trying to find the songs it says I have nothing. ! ? ! ? I'm trying to find files via explore under card media and music folder and its empty! but when I've plug it back the computer and use the software to manage my songs it says its there? Help.

  Can you try to check for the songs real media card?  To do this, open Windows Explorer and look under your computer, for your BlackBerry smart phone listed as two separate disks.  One will be the media card, the other will be the internal memory on your phone.  See if your songs are there.  If they are not, then the songs simply didn't transfer.  If necessary, you can just manually transfer your files by copying and pasting the course to the media card.

  Just an another troubleshooting suggestions and a work-around for now.

  I have my Portrait made SurePress keyboard. It appears correctly for all applications except when I unlock my Storm. Instead, the multi-tap keyboard appears.

  Curiously, after I unlock my Storm, the SurePress keyboard appears for one second before the "Office" appears.

  When I select multi-tap Qwerty keyboards and full as my default Portrait keyboard, each of them display correctly on the unlock screen.  It's only the SurePress keyboard is not working.

  Any ideas?

  Interesting... a theory... SurePress in Portrait use two letters per key (for the most part). And so it uses predictive analytics to understand what you type. That, to me, would be contrary to the security to enter a password... Enter password, for me, has to be perfect and not helped a predictive analytics. Therefore, the use of the SurePress keyboard portrait for password entry would be blocked. Once again, just a theory... I have not seen all articles on the topic. So far... Only, I searched the BTSC and found this:

  While it does not specifically your question, it indeed addresses only two keyboards for password entry.

  I was installing apps 6 or 7 in my BB Storm and the memory of the app became only 4 MB of free space, amything ran incredibly slowly, allways appearing at the small shows with the arrow running and low memory message. Always slow; When I restart up to become the sgain it can be 15 minytes or 20. What can I do to win some memory?

  Apps that came with BB stomr that I do not like flick and my space and little more when I touck the menu button I have no option to delete or archive them to the SD 8 gigabytes memory or to the memory of the device.

I'm really disappointed by Blackberry; What is the importance of developing a large AppStore of world if only 1 or 2 apps in memory memory full rim app meke? why they app store if it is useless that store, impossible to install any application without making the slow memory, just 1 or 2 maximum applications.
