BlackBerry Smartphones have need to backup my Priv

Well, unfortunately I need to return it and get my Priv replaced due to a fault with one of the keys on my keyboard (SPACEBAR)...

Before I do well, I make sure that I backed up everything - Apps (no problem - Google has them), Contacts, password Keeper, music, photos, etc.  With OS10, it was easy to all of the backup device, wipe the phone and put the most recent backup on...

In any case, can someone walk me through how to make sure that I have everything backed up so that I can get my replacement up and works as well as possible.  Thank you!!

Replying to my own post

So, all is well in my world of BB private now.  I thought that... I think it's all saved (via Google, my Email, etc.) and my contacts, etc., may be reported to my Z30...

Went to Bell - nice to confirm by pressing a different private my misfortunes of space was not only in my head.  The clerk was awesome... had me running with another private in half an hour.  She is happy I was out... said permutation that the space bar as it was would lead his nuts too.

I think that BB needs to smooth out the experience for us users of OS10.  Maybe we'll get a 'connection' of all kinds in the future.

When I put my blackberry on the mass storage mode. A pop up on my blackberry according to ECEPTION EXCEPTION: JAVA. LANG. NULLPOINTEREXCEPTION... What does that mean? and how can I fix that so I can put music on my phone.

Hi and welcome to the Forums!

Whenever this kind of mistake happens, the best thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the hood back and remove the battery. Wait a minute, then replace the battery and cover. Power on and wait patiently through the long reboot - about 5 minutes. See if things return to functioning. Like all computing devices, this one suffers memory leaks and other... with a hard reboot is the best remedy.

As for what the error means, well, it means that some events were held for which there is no stage of the program to deal with - as a result, an untrapped exception. It of kind of a 'out' final in programming code and says that something is inconsistent with the device with this hard restart being the best advice to fix (at least temporarily).

    Hope that helps!

  • BlackBerry smartphones, I need to restore my address book on my BB8330 ONLY

My phone has been recently cleaned & I got it all back to normal except that I don't have any of the entries in my address book (phone #s, e-mail addresses, etc.).

I looked around the BB Desktop Manager app, but it looks like a choice all or nothing.

    Can anyone offer any suggestions?

    Thanks in advance.

You do not have a recent backup of the device on before deletion?

Open Desktop Manager > connect your BlackBerry via USB > Backup/Restore > advanced.

In the right hand window will be your data on the current device.

In the left hand window will be your most recent backup data found by Desktop Manager.

Review this left window, scroll to data of address book and see if it seems OK for the number of entries, etc.

If not, on top of the left pane, choose file > open and navigate to the correct file and load it.

Now click on this address book data file to select it.

Click on the Middle RIGHT facing arrow to move the data to the device.

Follow the remaining instructions to finish.

Things can vary by carrier, but in general I would say 'yes '. What I suggest you do is to look for the services that you want and then talk to your business in terms of the appropriate information to enable these services. In General is available in this FAQ:

  • BlackBerry smartphones really need HELP! Would have someone seen this problem of e-mail...

There are two of us at work using a 8830WE of Blackberry on the network of Telus Mobility with Shaw Cable as our ISP. We use Desktop Manager 4.6 and our device OS 4.2.2.176.

We are the '' ONLY '' BB users in the office and the question that we are expereincing affects only the two of us, so I assume that it is something to do with our BB, or maybe the service BIS (we have no MS Exchange or BES).

Most of the time we use MS Outlook to send the e-mail from our PC instead of using the small keyboard of BB. It said that the below occurs regardless of what device we use for email.

When we generate and send a new e-mail the recipients planned get, however, if they do, that we do not receive their response.

And is the same in the other direction... when someone send us a new email, we receive, but when they do not receive our response, we answer.

I deleted service CMIME book, waited, then cancelled - it does not work.

I have not changed any MS Outlook, BIS or device settings - at least I don't remember changing anything whatsoever.

Help, please. This has happened for two to three weeks. We missed several important answers.

    Thank you

I would like to connect to your BIS site delete and recreate email accounts.

Then select send service directories. You will get the email of activation for all e-mail accounts.

No data will be lost when you do the following: remove the battery while the device is activated. Remplacer replace after one minute, let the device reboot 1-3 min, see if the problem is corrected, thanks

  • New phone of blackBerry Smartphones Have - data transfer

I currently have a bb curve 9320.  I changed for sony xperiea and need to get the data across.

Sony told me that I should contact Blackberry to find out how you can save the handset so that the file is not encrypted so it can then be forwarded to your mobile Xperia.  Didn't know that my backup of data have been encrypted.

    1. connect two devices via Bluetooth, go to bluetooth on 9320 settings > you will see sony xperia in paired devices > option and select transfer press contacts. (you will see the option 'Transfer of Contacts' If this Protocol is available on your phone too, its available on most devices then you should try it).

    2. you cannot transfer your sms, emails or other accounts...

    3. use a memory card to transfer media files.

After much googling, it seems that if I get a PRIV ATT unlocked online, it will come with Lollipop. Assuming that I am capable of properly updated OTA to MM will I still have the crapware installed ATT or I now have essentially a PRIVATE GSM unlocked without customizations ATT that now gets all the updates directly from BB. Are there any other gotcha I should know?

  • BlackBerry smartphones, I need some advice from support

I own a Blackberry Curce 9330 and I love it.  I got it for a few years, maybe 4 or 5 years and no problem.  Recently I find it will be full as the witness said, but he remains charged for about 4 to 5 hours more.  I find in the past I could use it all day and I would load it into the night, and I always have my phone available.  I know this isn't the charger because I tried others and even answers.  I bought a new battery thinking that might be but he last slightly more like about 6 or 7 hours, but not as it is used to perform.  What could be the problem.  I don't know how long you need to charge your phone or do I have to reinstall something?  Don't know what to do, otherwise it works fine

If the battery icon indicates 100%, that's fine.

But yes, you check the 'screen' options, not the right.

    You want the main options.

There is an icon that looks like a key or gear, such as:

  • BlackBerry smartphones, I've updated, backup contact on my 8520 and it hung my phone

I've updated backup contact on my curve 8520 2 months since my phone has hanged. All buttons have seized work. The only thing being displayed on the phone is the app permissions page and I've tried several times to remove the application on my blackberry desktop software but it will just erase. Help, please.

    Thank you

When you get a chance, do a battery pull.  When the red light goes on the front of the phone, hold down the back button all the time while the phone is in boot.  When initialization is complete, the phone goes into safe mode.

I have problems to find where the Blackberry Desktop Manager is to store my backup files.  A search on my computer for .ipd files shows nothing.  I did a backup of my original device and wants to restore the contacts, calendar, and photos.

Edit: After another attempt at original device backup and restoring the device the Desktop Manager has the restore button grey replacement.  In addition, the device PIN reads "zero" with unit replacement set.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Newbie needs help setting up email

    Hello world

I've been the proud owner of a "BOLD" for about 48 hours now. This is my first Blackberry, so please bear with me.

I need to set up my Yahoo email. I remember setting up front, but I deleted it as my allowance for the use of network (3 Australia) showed 2 MB roaming allowance, of which half was used in one day.

I think that the e-mail message has been implemented via a browser page, but I can't go back to this page. The e-mail setup wizard seems to be to the establishment through BES which I did not. Does anyone know the address of the page?

I also remember, when I chose the browser (not of Planet 3) I was taken in a BB page that showed several options of setting up various things. There were about 5 or 6 boxes grey listed above the other? Anyone also know the address of the page for this?

    Thanks for any help,

    Paul

You also see a personal Email Setup on the device icon? If not try going into the Options | Advanced options | The host routing table. In this screen press press the button menu and choose to register now. See if you receive a message from check delivered to your device. Subsequently, reset the unit by removing the battery for 30 seconds. See if you have this icon now after restarting the device. If you still don't you can try setting up the account again on your carrier's Web site BIS to add return e-mail accounts?

What options do you remember on this Web site? Try to go to mobile.blackberry.com on your browser and see if it's the page.
