BlackBerry smartphones I am being hacked?

Hi all

I have a BB 9360 curve.

For some time, I suspect that my partner has hacked my phone because all of a sudden she knows about text messages that I received even when I am out of the country and there was no way she would have access by any other means.

Just with text messages, but does not seem to be with whatsapp or any other application or by e-mail.

Is it possible? and if so, how do I know if she does this for me? I want to face him on this subject, but I can't do it without evidence...

Yes, I could guess this password if I knew you, one of 100 friends and family.

The mother maiden name is in the top ten worst passwords.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Can BB be hacked?

    Hello

I'm considering the purchase of a smartphone BB because their improved security features. However, a friend of mine mentioned that a user in his company reported being hacked on a trip. This person said that during his trip, the BB rebooted several times and that he had seen the cursor in its smartphone moving by itself. This is why he thinks that it was hacked.

    Would this be possible?

The worst cases involving your friend's phone might be that someone got ahold of him, read his emails, copied some of his contacts to their list, sent a few offensive SMS messages from his phone and made a few calls long distances on its nickel.  At present, there is no Trojan known for BlackBerry phones.

If the worst case is in its limits of tolerance, it will be fine.  If it is paranoid that more occurred that, he can simply make a backup of data, wipe the phone, restore the backup on his phone and continue knowing that her phone is secure.

I hope that clears things up for you and your friend.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones fraudulent E-mail / hack?

I sometimes send e-mail to myself as reminders - when I compose a message on my Torch 9800 and begin to enter my name in the field 'To', I select my name on the list of contacts, however the e-mail 'behind' the name is [email protected]. When I view my details everything seems correct, and when I search the email address of 'bad' it is not found. I also searched my gmail and hotmail contact lists (which synchronize with my flashlight) and the wrong address is not.

How is compose of [email protected] being injected into my e-mail address on a message? This only happens when you select my name from the options when composing a message.

    Try this...

Open your Messages folder > press Menu > Options.

Click the display of the messages and actions.

Scroll up to "Show recent Contacts when composing Email" and that turn off or clear it.

This option displays the names of users, you recently received mail from and sent to. Perhaps will erase this address off the coast.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones BBM Virus or Hack?

First of all, sorry that if this issue has already been addressed in another post, Yes, I couldn't find.

Today, I received a request to add a person to my BBM contacts with the name "Jil". I did, since I am friends named Jill and thought that maybe they just shorten their contact.

An entry for it appeared in my contact list with a photo and a PIN (which I didn't write). I does not recognize the picture though, so I sent her message through surveys BBM asking how we knew that the other.

Once I hit firm transmission window chat and contact entry disappeared! After stopping and a battery pull, BBM has shown a "empty cat" when I clicked on it, it also disappeared. I can't find any trace of 'Jil' on my BB when I search.

I use a Curve 8330, OS v4.5.0.127 and my carrier is SaskTel.  Also, I have a limited account of the Internet Service, email and BBM only, not Web browsing.

    This happened to anyone before?

I accepted just unintentionally a virus or some sort of phishing hack?

There is no virus for a BB and no "phishing hacks."

My guess is someone accidentally added your PIN or email then realized it and erased you at the same time as you sent a message.

Delete the empty cat and continue with the life of BB.

Second, I want to know the security of the BlackBerry Messenger. • BlackBerry Smartphones BB Messenger disappeared

I tried the update Blackberyy Messenger by downloading and installing a later version on being invited by the Blackberry World. Later, I realized that BB Messenger is gone off my phone, but App World it says it is installed. I tried to remove and reinstall and it won't allow me. Help, please.

    Hi TroymanMartin

Welcome to the Forums of the BlackBerry Support

First try a battery pull restarts, if it is still impossible to locate and remember it's not hidden, to check that the screen is in the Panel Home screen ALL > press the Menu key and select "Show all icons" or icon to display "." It will show all of the icons that were previously hidden. If you see BlackBerry Messenger icon like grayed then highlight it and press the Menu key and select the icon to display, also search your folders as the Application of Instant Messaging folder, etc..

If it is still impossible, then try reinstalling the BBM, but first on your homescreen go to Options > device > application management > locate and delete BlackBerry Messenger from this list.

  • BlackBerry smartphone app error 603 and BBDS does not recognize my device

Here's the situation: the battery ran out on my unit earlier this week. When I started to charge, the unit will start automatically restart. Before restarting, the messages "error app 603' and 'reset' appeared. If I click "reset", the whole process starts again.

The previous messages in the forum I read about 'error app 603' suggested I should restore the device settings or reinstall the operating system. I tried to connect my device to my laptop via USB cable, however the computer will only recognize the connected device with a chime at the beginning of the discount to zero, followed quickly by a chime of disconnection being rebooted. The computer or software Deskstop BlackBerry recognizes the device while it is stuck on the '603 error message' app.

    What else can I try?

Hello and welcome to the community!

Here's a knockout who deals with this error:

For the charging of the OS, you can better use this method... on a PC (you can't do this on MAC):

    (1) make sure you have a current backup and your BB complete... you can find complete instructions via the link in my sig auto below. Sorry, already a moot point counts with the error.

    2) uninstall all the BB OS packages from your PC,

    (3) make sure you have the BB Desktop Software already installed

    (4) download and install on your computer, the BB OS package you want:

    • If all you want are the levels of BONE, it is first sorted by carrier - the carrier supports, your search will be fast. However, some carriers are much slower than others to release updates. To really get the package up-to-date OS for your BB, you need to dig through and find all businesses that support your specific model BB and then compare the BONE levels they support.

    5) remove all copies of the SELLER on your PC. XML... There will be at least one and maybe 2, and they will be located in the same way or to (it changes based on your version of Windows) these files:

    • C:\Program Files (x 86) \Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader
    • C:\Users\(your Windows username) \AppData\Roaming\Research In Motion\BlackBerry\Loader XML

    (6) work around the Desktop software and use the CHARGER. EXE directly, through step 2 in this process:

If, during the process of step 6, your BB presents "507" error, simply unplug the power cord of the BB USB and reinsert it. do nothing else... This should allow the installation to continue.

You can also study the use of BBSAK (bbsak.org) to perform the wipe what he is capable.

You may also use these tips:

If you are on a MAC, you are limited to only your sanctioned carriers OS packages... but can still use any level they currently have to sanction. See this procedure:

  • BlackBerry smartphones to remove permanent Wifi browser - how?

I haven't bought a 9700 ROGERS no contract to replace my phone to work. The policy of the company, is that none of the mobile devices cannot have any method of navigation interenet. The 9700 will not network go, unless you have a blackberry data plan and I have nothing but personal messaging plan which works well. The problem I have is that the wifi browser still works and even when I remove the wifi browser in the service books, it is just when I do a battery pull. How can I permanently get rid of the wifi browser without being connected to a BES? (the company doesn't have a BES) - hide the icon isn't enough...

Thank you J Sanders. Sounds like something that will work. Forgive my ignorance, but where can I find version 5.0.0 for my 9700? -When I search the Blackberry site and enter my PIN (a ROGERS device) they do not show a BONE available for the 9700 yet...   I can't get the unit off I can? I really think what I need to know how to "install your current OS on your BlackBerry smartphone to your computer?  Thanks for your help, otherwise I can't use this unit that I paid $600 for

    Before you start:
Install your current OS on your smart phone BlackBerry to your PC.

    1. on the PC, go to C:\ProgramFiles\CommonFiles\ResearchInMotion\Share d\LoaderFiles\OS version\Java.
Create a new folder and name it deleted.

    2A c:\ProgramFiles\CommonFiles\ResearchInMotion\Share d\LoaderFiles\OS version\Java

Find the .cod named net_rim_bb_browser_dameon and move it to your new folder cod.

    3. plug the device and on your PC, open the Desktop Managver > AppLoader > Add/Remove programs and work your way through the process to remove the net_rim_bb_browser_dameon module. You won't notice any changes until after you see the screen of the Application loader, don't click on the boxes, click Next, then finish. ONLY you will see it after clicking Finish a quick notice that the module browser_daemon is deleted.

Close DM at the end leave your device restart.

After a reboot, you can get a java error at startup. Ignore it.

  • ESN of blackBerry Smartphones

I bought a used off a friend, blackberry curve but the serial number is not under the battery and I don't have the box. I tried to go to options then status, but all that was there was a code PIN, MEID (DEC), MEID (HEX) and WLAN Mac. Or the other of them are identical to the NGE and if not is there any other way I could get it? I need to put my plan in place.

    Hi kjohnson5,

You did not mention your phone model, so to cancel all if your device is a gsm device, it will contain IMEI no esn. The ESN is a unique number that identifies a smart phone BlackBerry for Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) and The MEID identifies a BlackBerry smartphone for CDMA and Mobitex networks. It was created to replace the NSU, which is being depleted. IMEI is a unique number that identifies a piece of wireless equipment (for example, a BlackBerry smart phone)

So what ever see you if IMEI, NSE, MEID will all the same purpose and is displayed according to the models.

    I hope it helps.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones location of saved Text messages and downloads please as a desire to update the device software

I have a Blackberry 9300. I noticed while testing option 'restore' in Blackberry Desktop Software 'Saved messages' is grey so not able to restore and downloaded programs were not included in the backup course so I'm delaying the update of the OS 6 bundle OS 6 bundle 1879 2949 until I can get these issues resolved. First of all, where are my saved text messages would be they located on the SD card? Secondly, where are the downloaded applications and how would bring him back, I should reinstall individually or is there a better method I guess updating the software of the device would eliminate any reference to them? Thanks in advance, Marcia

To reinstall your applications, see this KB:

You may also need to clear the cache of application AppWorld:

    1. open the App World

    3. follow one (and only one!) of these steps:

    3. for the BB keyboard-oriented - hold down the ALT key and press on, in the sequence R, then S, then T

I was also interested to read your information on the primary database of smartphone that made me wonder if it was at this location that the saved text messages were built. I mention this as I save some of my text messages I can consult at any time by selecting 'View the Messages stored' in the menu messages text, which lists the emails and text messages, that you saved.

The Interface of Messages is against the databases on the BB... Watch a saved messages can be as simple as a filter that is applied to display only those, but always from the same database. Also understand that the 'Messages' is a term Super set, with "email", "SMS", and other types of messages into subsets.

    willismc wrote:
Saving messages electronic elsewhere are not a problem but saved SMS backup does not seem to be an option, why would I need to check this feature before upgrading the device software. Appreciate your answer to that one.

As I said, I suspect saved SMS Messages to be a subset of the base of great set 'SMS Messages"together with the message 'saved' being a subset within this database.

I can't answer definitively for you because I've never had the problem you are experiencing. You may need to test to know for sure.
