BlackBerry smartphones I am sure I know the answer

I am very new in the world of Blackberry and love it. Now I'm sure I know the answer to my question and it is just that it be verified by those of you have had your during some time.

I have a Blackberry 8530 with US Cellular, I have everything synced with Google/Gmail at the moment. I used to use Outlook ME, now I know I can synchronize Contacts, calendar and tasks. But when we talk about sync'ing of the post. As my Outlook is a POP3 account instead of an Exchange, the only thing that will happen is that my phone is going to transfer more of what I sent or recived via the phone to my OL, I won't have access to all the email and folders that are in my OL' on my correct phone?

Thank you

Ed

On a personal account of BIS, no mail or messages reconcile to Outlook, it is not designed to do.

You will need the BlackBerry Enterprise Services for this function.

I am curious and angry, when I installed the latest update of BlackBerry OS 6 on my lamp, I lost hours of work I had put in entering in the composition of the shortcuts in AutoText. Can my hard work and wonderful shortcuts, be found?  Anyone know the answer?  Is there a solution?

On a Mac OS 10.6.7, I couldn't find no *.ipd on the disk or .ipd file hard or in the Documents folder. Realize that to upgrade to the latest Blackberry OS 6, two or three weeks ago, I had to leave in the handheld itself because BlackBerry App World is not compatible with the Mac OS 10. Being new to this sort of thing, I have not run a backup on my Mac (Yes, the BlackBerry Desktop Software backup and restore works perfectly on my Mac) before the upgrade.  However, I found a text file automatically with 491 files in restore from a backup made on March 6, which represent the major part of my job (I codify often used long words using just 2-3-4 letters, for example the udg to understand, udb for understandable, unlike CFL, dft for different, etc..).  I restored it as a restore selected, as you suggest.  Now, I once again my lost work.  Hallelujah!

Hello and welcome to the community!

I recommend that you try to start safe mode:

    • KB17877 How to start a smartphone BlackBerry in Mode safe

It will take several attempts to get the combination of keys ESC (press/release/hold) OK, so be patient. When properly in Safe Mode, see what happens.

If the behavior continues, then well... think what happened just before this behavior started? A new application? An update? A theme? Something else? Think carefully that the slightest change can be causal... and try to undo all that was.

But if the behavior continues mode without failure, you may need to consider more drastic measures - WIPE, OS Reload, BBSAK Wipe/Reload and the process of reloading OS 'skeleton '. To prepare, you should be sure that you have a full backup of your PC... Please see the Backup link in my sig auto on this post for instructions.

Good luck and let us know!

  • Locking of the blackBerry Smartphone screen/keyboard keeps activating while the phone is in use.

I have a Blackberry 9810 "BOLD" and the screen/keyboard lock feature is always activate itself, even when I'm in the middle to send him a text or using the phone. Yesterday, it happened while I was talking on the phone and he cut the call. I can't find an option on my phone to activate switch. How can I solve this problem, because it's practically what makes my phone useless.

    Hello

Well, first of all... No... no 'BB support' can answer you here. This is because, when they gave to you when you register on this site, this site has nothing to do with any formal support any. On the contrary, it is a community of users where volunteers try to troubleshoot other kind souls to the best of their ability. Unfortunately, no response would mean that anyone who took the time to read your post has something useful to you.

From what you describe, I would infer that there is a wrong application behave which interferes with the function of locking, or maybe your operating system is somehow corrupted, or maybe a combination of the two. What I recommend is the following:

    1. Reload your own OS and as "skeleton" as possible (for example, whatever it is optional, let power off)
    2. If the problem immediately presented, then repeat step 1, but with an OS different package... maybe there's a bug in the specific operating system you run.
    3. If the problem does not immediately, then run for maybe a week-long enough to be sure that the behavior will not occur.
    4. If the behavior does not after a week, add just one thing (just one... no matter how tempting it is to add more!)
    5. Repeat steps 3 and 4 until the behavior is, how well do you know the culprit
    6. If the behavior does not, then you know that reloading the OS or switch to another operating system package was the cure.

If none of this he healed, then you will have a physical hardware problem for which assessment in the hand by a qualified material is of course necessary. If you are under warranty, you seeking your warranty provider - normally your place of origin of the purchase, your provider of mobile service or one authorized service center (it varies by location, but you should have received the documentation at the front that tells you exactly how to use your warranty).

    Good luck!

  • Device of blackBerry Smartphones, sending text messages invisible to the unknown mobile number

Hi, just bought a unlocked 9360, having a strange, new problem in Blackberry, so be, permissions or something, but the device sends texts to a number of mobile which is not in my repertoire, recent calls or texts. My allocation of text on O2 came down, I changed to a Giffgaff sim and who goes down also.

I know that the phone number as Giffgaff sent me a list of numbers, the texts were out to and they are all the same one.

Sorry to be a beginner, if it's as simple as the app permissions.

    Amanda

Let's be clear. There are SMS messages are automatically sent from the device and you're not sending them? If this is the case, then now, follow these steps:

Turn off the mobile network radio. Perform a full backup. Do a security wipe. When you do the wipe of security, check the box to delete applications.

    See http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB14058 about security wipe.

After clearing security, do a selective restore of just your personal data. Do not restore settings or application data. But, if you can start from scratch and go do a restore, do.

Go ahead: set a device password and lock your device when you have eyes on her. Don't lend your device. Don't let anyone use it. There is a setting in the options to require the device password in order to install an application. I recommend that you enable that. Finally, be careful what apps install.

My best guess is that there is a malicious application on the device. Maybe it was when you bought it, maybe someone put there after you acquired it, or perhaps you have inadvertently installed. Cannot be sure. But obviously this is not something you want, at the very least, and you don't know what it is to delete.   This is my reason for the security wipe.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones phone won't boot to the top

I downloaded a few applications to Blackberry World on my night of phone. One was booster. When I tried to open it I got an error message saying something about Java, and after failed attempts to open it, I deleted it. The other was AP Reader. I just tried to open it for the first time this morning. When I clicked on it, the phone started to reboot. He took an unusually long time to restart, then I put down and came back some time later. When I picked up, he seemed to be in the off position. I tried to turn it back on but nothing happened. So I took the battery out and put back. The fire came, stayed on a minute or two, but instead of booting, the phone is off again. I tried to remove the SIM card as well as the battery and then replace both, but he got the same results. I can't even reset the phone to default settings because I can't seem to start. Help! What can I do?

Sometimes you gotta try some variations... If you have tried only twice, you did not probably not enough variations. I remember a device where I had to wait for the touchscreen to become active, hold down the ESCAPE key for about 50% of the loading bar, release, then press and hold again close to 80% to 90%. A strange sequence, but it worked for me.

If you don't want to keep trying, your only recourse will be more drastic... I hope you have a good backup, as it is unlikely that you will be able to get one now.

You can also study the use of BBSAK (bbsak.org) to perform the wipe what he is capable.

Good luck and let us know!

  • BlackBerry Smartphones windows 7 does not recognize the device

I was connected my 8330 for a desktop XP for a long time.  The sw of the device is v4.5.0.175.  I recently got a new Lenovo T410 laptop, running Windows 7.  I downloaded the software (version 5.0.1) DM and checked my camera SW is updated, but the laptop is still not recognize that the device is connected (via USB).  I tried all ports USB on the laptop and also followed all the steps detailed in KB13146, with no luck.  I find nothing in any of the forums that refer to Windows 7.  Can anyone help solve this problem?

Hi and welcome to the Forums!

Here is the list of troubleshooting atricles... I hope that something will be useful:

    KB02640 Troubleshooting USB connections
KB15486 Top 10 smartphone BlackBerry and BlackBerry Desktop Manager troubleshooting tips

KB01451 How to enable Sync advanced logging if a wired synchronization fails
KB19717 The BlackBerry smartphone is not detected as a USB mass storage device when connected to a computer

In addition, make sure you use only the root USB ports... without hubs (sometimes the front-end ports are hubs... use a rear USB port). And don't forget to try to disable the USB power management in the configuration of your system (Device Manager).

My apologies in advance if this is redundant - there is no way to be sure that if you have already seen and tried these. I can attest that DTM does not indeed a BB under Win7... mine is exactly so.

I hope that something it is useful!

    See you soon!

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Keeper of password missing from the OS 6

I upgraded my OS from 5 to 6 (update of Sprint) and when setting everything back up, I could not find password Keeper. I know that many people do not use this app, but it has been very useful because of all the different passwords I use at different times. It is in this operating system or has it been removed? If it does not form part of the operating system, can it be added? I have a backup of my phone before the upgrade, can I at least get back this information to store elsewhere? Thank you for your contribution to this issue.

OK, I managed to confirm that apparently password Keeper is always on OS 6, so something was wrong with the OTA update.

While it is a bit of an extreme response, it's a way enough guarantees to ensure that you get password Keeper on your device.  Try to reload the operating system by following the steps located here: http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/BlackBerry-Device-Software/How-To-Reload-Your-Operating-Syste...  When you reach step 3, make sure you check the box for password keeper because he will not automatically be considered.

If you rather not completely loaded the operating system, skip to step 4.  If you do this, then it should just charge on the device password Keeper and leave everything else intact.  But if you want to be thorough, feel free to continue with step 4.

Since you have already loaded the operating system on your computer, you can only proceed to the saving and loading of the operating system (or the application, if you try this way initially).

If you reload the entire OS, and then restore the backup that you made.  Once you have done this, return to this backup of November and you can do a selective restore in BlackBerry Desktop Software 6 (also called an Advanced Restore in BlackBerry Desktop Manager 5.0 and earlier).  Then, you can simply select the data for password Keeper and restore just this database.

Keep me informed as to how it works.

  • Phone smart BlackBerry Smartphones had a problem connecting to the server - 8520 new message

No emails received from a few days ago. I tried to configure the wizard's original e-mail accounts and got the message appears on the header of the message. Have you tried restarting pop battery without success. Also, during another attempt to implement email message "your connection to the mobile network is turned on, but you are not in a wireless coverage area. came. Subsequent attempts gave me the message "device had a problem..." ». Checked my wireless connections and everything is nice and connected. Messenger of Blackberry etc. everything works fine. Phone worked fine until a few days - ideas please.

Hello and welcome to the community!

I suggest the following, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2, each should result in a message to your BB to come...) Please wait for this before moving on to the next step):

    (1) registry HRT

    • KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with wireless network
    • Please wait a 'registration' message reach your Messages application

    (2) remove and return Service directories

    • KB05000 Remove the maintenance book for the BlackBerry Internet Service email account in the BlackBerry smartphone
    • If you do not have access CMIME, continue deleting
    • KB02830 Send the directories for the BlackBerry Internet Service
    • Please wait "the Activation' Messages, one per already configured e-mail account, arrive in your Messages. If you have not already configured email accounts, please wait 1 hour.

    (3) restart to take batt

    • Each time a random strange behavior or slow creeps, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the hood back and remove the battery. Wait a minute, then replace the battery and cover. Power on and wait patiently through the long reboot - about 5 minutes. See if things return to functioning. Like all computing devices, BB suffers from memory leaks and others... with a hard reboot is the best remedy.

I hope that will move things again for you! If not, then you should try remove and re-add your BIS configuration for these accounts. Otherwise, you should contact your mobile provider for formal support.

    Good luck!
