BlackBerry Smartphones import Palm AddressBook

I just bought a BlackBerry 8330 and want to import my address book from my Palm T / X I tried the wizard device switch on the BlackBerry desktop manager, but it does not work. When the window "select Desktop Organizer" rises the options are not available (clickable). Any ideas?

What contacts? Your address book... IF you have BlackBerry Protect installed and running on your old device, Protect restore data including your address book and other data. See more here:

BBM contacts are not saved with Protect. However, using the same BBID, they will be restored if your previous 9790 had BBM 7 installed. Your BBID restore BBM contacts.

  • Transfer blackBerry Smartphones from Palm to Blackberry via the switch device Wizard

I am trying to use the device switch Wizard to transfer the data from my Palm Desktop on my Blackberry Desktop (my current Palm device is the Centro, and all data are saved on the desktop).  When I get to the window "select Desktop Organizer', both ' Palm/Treo or Palm Desktop software' and 'Software Windows Mobile for devices such as a Smartphone or a Pocket PC' options grayed out and neither to be selected.  Any advice on how to skip this step?

For some reason it should not be recognizing the Palm Desktop software.

Once in front, I had to export all data from Palm to Cs4l or XLS file (I forget which) and then import all on my Outlook and then sync Outlook to the BlackBerry.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones import pictures from my camera on my computer

    Hello world

I had my 9630 Tour for years and never had a problem with importing photos until yesterday. I can see the pictures I want to import on my phone but when I connect to the BlackBerry Desktop Software, they do not appear in the 'Images' under 'Media Sync' tab I get the following message: "there no pictures to import from your device.

Also, when I connect the USB cable from the phone of the tour, I also get this message, "do you want to turn on mass storage Mode? You will not be able to access some media files in this mode"this is the first time I've seen this message.

One last point, I went to Wal-Mart on Sunday (MARCH 24) and my card micro in their machine, printed a photo. This is where I believe my problem started because it seems that the Desktop software can read the micro card more. Can someone out there get me back to the point where I can import my photos using the BlackBerry Desktop Software? Also, is there a peripheral USB type out there that I can insert my micro card in and download my pictures until I solve this problem?

    Thanks in advance,

Hello and welcome to the community!

I can't tell you why Desktop software stopped working for you... I personally never use for it at all. On the contrary, I use mass storage Mode, which allows me to treat my BB as a USB (2 readers, if there is a media card in the BB) on my Windows computer... allowing me to drag and drop all the files I want to/from the BB in any way I choose.

If you want to pursue that, see:

There are several types of readers of SD USB card for computers. Some are great devices, installed internally in the PC. Others are an adapter with USB plug at one end and a slot for SD card on the other. And there are many variations between the two. You should do when shopping for a device of SD USB card reader and choose the one that fits your needs of capacity and price.

    Good luck!

  • BlackBerry Smartphones import/export of contacts, calendar, etc.

    Hello

I'm trying to transfer my data from my old Nokia to my new BB9900. I hope that the current version of the Desktop software is something like version-1, because I consider that it is entirely insufficient. I expect that this software allows to export/import contacts and other data. This would change/upgrade to update these data using tools more comfortable to my Mac instead of typing any change in my BB. However, nothing like this is available.

In addition, when you back up contacts, calendar etc. is is rather not transparent what happens. The program seems to ignore the selection 'calendar' or anything else and everything just records to my Mac. And - see above - in a proprietary format that does not yet use of these data.

Yes, this message is responsible for someone @ rim. Simply for the fact that the www.blackberry.com site does not provide a link "contacts" were, we could send these complaints.

    Greetings - Bob

Gotcha.  I don't know how you try to import the csv file.  Did you use this guide?

    http://BTSC.webapps.BlackBerry.com/BTSC/ViewDocument.do?externalId=KB11194&sliceId=1&cmd=displayKC&d...

I also found this link because you are using a mac.

    http://supportforums.BlackBerry.com/T5/desktop-software-for-Mac/re-how-to-Import-CSV-file-using-Mac-...

The number of email account... do you have you set up your email on the phone using the configuration of messaging application?  I'm trying to see how this could happen and how to fix it.

If you have a csv file good, you may need to start over if you are not using the guide above.

    Another option:

I had a similar problem.  I deleted all the contacts on the phone and ended up importing the csv file in gmail.  I set up my account gmail on the phone and everyone stood on the device.  What e-mail service, are you using?

  • BlackBerry 8310 Smartphones import contact issues.

Hello, I had some problems with my 8310 for the last 9 hours or more. First of all, I'm trying to import my contacts from a csv file into the 8310 using the BlackBerry Desktop Management software. I tried these steps, even if they were terribly wrong. I found here: http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/microsites/search.do?cmd=displayKC&docType=kc&externalId=KB11194&slic...

    1. Connect the BlackBerry smartphone to the computer.
    2. Open BlackBerry Desktop Manager and double-click Intellisync. (I still saw nothing that reads Intellisync.)
    3. In the Intellisync® window, click Configure PIM. (Again it is Intellisync with another unknown word PIM)
    4. Select the address book check box, and then click Choose.
    5. Select ASCII import/export , and then click export.
    6. Click Browse and enter BlackBerry.csv for the name of the file. This will create the BlackBerry.csvfile.
    7. Click Open. When you are prompted with the message that this file does not exist, click Yes.
    8. In the section select Application, click OK, and then click OK in the Configuration.
    9. Click on Synchronize now. This will create the CSV file with the field mapping to add contacts.
    10. Add the contact to the CSV file and repeat step 4.
    11. Select ASCII Import/Export , and then click import.
    12. Click Synchronize now. This important contact with the CSV file to the BlackBerry device.

So what I got to do is the following.

    1. Click on synchronize
    2. Menu left click on sync
    3. Click Sync out next to "configure my sync for my office program settings.
    4. Check the address book.
    5. Click Setup
    6. Exporting importing ASCII > next
    7. One-way synchronization device< ascii="">
    8. Then, I put the options delimited by commas and quotes (I don't know what it is)
    9. Next > finish > Ok
    10. Then I click on synchronize in the left menu.
    11. Check the synchronize Organizer data. And click on synchronize.
    12. It works for a second and gives me the following:

    "Error Code 0 x 80040057 check Documentation.

    System specs

    Windows 7 Build 7100.

    Intel Core 2 e5200

    2 GB of Ram

    ASUS P5KPL-CM

I'm so lost and so frustrated with this thing, it's unreal.

Thanks in advance for the help.

Problem solved! I figured out that the header of the csv file was not fair. They must have a header of category on them. You can do this:

    1. export to a csv data file you want to import your old software
    2. Adding one of the elements of data to your blackberry
    3. export data from blackberry to csv format
    4. copy old data first to the new file csv file properly formatted CSV of blackberry.

I repeat if you have this error Error Code 0 x 80040057 check the Documentation. Is your solution.

My requirement is to manage the sms sent from a blackberry smartphone like finding the number of SMS messages sent, the destination not like that. I tried running messagelistener, sendlistener and outboundmessagelistener, but something did not work well. So can someone please help me to solve my problem?

Hello! Have you done a hard reset?

A hard reset is similar to rebooting a computer that is not responding. A hard reset shut BlackBerry applications and restarts the BlackBerry smartphone operating system reboots the hardware components of the BlackBerry smartphone, including the wireless transmitter/receiver.

Note: A hard reset deletes all settings or the data on the BlackBerry smartphone.

To perform a hard reset, follow these steps:

    1. Turn off the BlackBerry smartphone.
    2. Remove the battery.
    3. Reinsert the battery.
    4. Wait until that smartphone BlackBerry start.

    In addition,

Confirm that all installed third-party applications are approved for the device

Make sure that all third party applications installed on the BlackBerry smartphone are approved for the device. If the problem persists, remove third-party applications to ensure that they do not affect performance.

    And don't forget,

    Optimize flash memory

You can keep the smart phone BlackBerry operating at peak performance by maximizing the available flash memory. Increase the amount of available memory on your BlackBerry smartphone by performing the following tasks:

    1. Add a memory card
    2. Remove unused languages
    3. Delete call logs
    4. Remove the sample video
    5. Empty the Cache and Cookies in the browser
    6. Delete rarely used applications
    7. Delete old data

  • Sellers of understanding of blackBerry on blackberry Smartphones

    Hey

My boss gave me his old blackberry. He used proximus (Belgium). I don't think that the phone is locked (how I see this?).

He also had a problem with in the past, this has been fixed but suddenly no more Dutch language.

I searched this forum and found a software link (Desktop & Device Software Download Sites for BlackBerry users):

If you have not purchased your BlackBerry® smartphone directly from Research In Motion (RIM), please select the link to your service provider below to download the BlackBerry® Desktop Software and BlackBerry® Device Software that your service provider has authorized for use with your device.

If I understand correctly: Let's say if I'm going to buy a new company BASIC SIM card (a provider of services in Belgium), I need to install the software for this service provider.

Does this mean that if I am abroad (outside), I can't use the phone more?

I need blackberry device software to reinstall the blackberry, so the Dutch language is back.

Is there a difference between these software (sorted by country) or what's available that's different languages?

Hello and welcome to the community!

You have several misunderstandings... then this post will be a bit long... Sorry about that...

    # With the appropriate tips (below), you can use any bundle of BONES of any carrier, as long as it's your specific model BB number.

    haramo wrote:

    Completely independent.

To use your BB when out of your network home, and if you want to keep your home SIM card inserted, you must have stored with your carrier network for roaming, international data plan if that's where you are roaming to.

To use your BB on a network of different carrier with their SIM card, you must first have unlocked your BB is carrier home (see above for that).

Other (applies to both), your BB must be compatible with the carrier data network technology and frequency... If the radio inside your BB does not support the network of the carrier, then nothing will work. If it is compatible, then you should be able to receive voice-level services. But for data level BB services, must still ensure that your specific model BB number is supported by this network of carrier for AutoShip of HRT and maintenance to your BB book... If not, then you will not be able to receive data of BB services.

    haramo wrote:

It's actually more and less complicated than that. Looking at all the 4 bytes of the version number of the operating system, if the two carriers have the same version, then the package is the same from the functional point of view BB. However, each company tends to "Pack" the package they release with some specific things from carrier, but none of this is really necessary... it's usually just things like icons of teaser for applications that a carrier has agreed to try to push their users. Not important.

Regarding the language, it is not simply a matter of the carrier you choose. It is rather a question of the OS package you choose, such as governed by this KB:

    • Article ID: KB05305 Location of support for BlackBerry smartphones

    haramo wrote:

I need blackberry device software to reinstall the blackberry, so the Dutch language is back.

OK, with all the foregoing of the road now, the easiest way is, on a PC (you can not do this on MAC):

    (1) make sure that you have a current backup and your BB complete... you can find the instructions at the link in my auto-sig below.

    2) uninstall all the BB OS packages from your PC,

    (3) make sure you have the BB Desktop Software already installed

    (4) download and install on your computer, the BB OS package you want:

    • If all you want are the levels of BONE, it is first sorted by carrier - the carrier supports, your search will be fast. However, some carriers are much slower than others to release updates. To really get the package up-to-date OS for your BB, you need to dig through and find all businesses that support your specific model BB and then compare the BONE levels they support.
    • Use the location KB link above as your guide to choose a package that contains the language you want.

    5) remove all copies of the SELLER on your PC. XML... There will be at least one and maybe 2, and they will be located in the same way or to (it changes based on your version of Windows) these files:

    • C:\Program Files (x 86) \Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader
    • C:\Users\(your Windows username) \AppData\Roaming\Research In Motion\BlackBerry\Loader XML

6 (a) to change your level of BB OS installed (at level or lower), you can run the Desktop software and connect your BB... the software should offer the operating system package you have installed on your PC.

6 (b) or, for recharging your BB OS level installed as well to change, work around the Desktop software and use the CHARGER. EXE directly, through step 2 in this process:

If, during the process of 6a or 6 b, your BB has an error '507', simply unplug the USB of the BB cord and reinsert it. do nothing else... This should allow the installation to continue. When installing, be sure to check deeply to all available applications to choose to settle... don't forget to dig deep into each element of multi-level and don't forget that you have selected everything that relates to your language (s) you want.

Good luck and let us know!
