BlackBerry smartphones in the face of what or why is there a white smiley on my screen "notifications" in the upper part of the phone

so that is the volume control & the symbol Magnifier/find a white Smiley appeared. (below the hour upstairs)   Anyone know what it is, or why it is there? I read the brochure & none of the notification symbols look like this. Help someone?

You have installed the game of Hangman on it, and the smiling is notification of the new game pack daily available in the Hangman game, once you play the day pack smily will go far, :-) it took me 3 days to find out, as I was also confused

Hello and welcome to the community!

I recommend that you try to start safe mode:

    • KB17877 How to start a smartphone BlackBerry in Mode safe

It will take several attempts to get the combination of keys ESC (press/release/hold) OK, so be patient. When properly in Safe Mode, see what happens.

If the behavior continues, then well... think what happened just before this behavior started? A new application? An update? A theme? Something else? Think carefully that the slightest change can be causal... and try to undo all that was.

But if the behavior continues mode without failure, you may need to consider more drastic measures - WIPE, OS Reload, BBSAK Wipe/Reload and the process of reloading OS 'skeleton '. To prepare, you should be sure that you have a full backup of your PC... Please see the Backup link in my sig auto on this post for instructions.

  • BlackBerry smartphones is the battery of my Blackberry Bold 9900 death?

So I had this phone for about a year and a half. I'm under contract. Its been a couple of days and his agi upward.  I have fully charged aura and within 1 to 3 hours, the battery will reduce by 50%, even with minimal use. I already checked if I have programs that run in the background and nothing. I also deleted all the apps that I don't use, and that did not help either. So I decided to restart the phone thinking it was probably just a temporary problem.  Well, when we turn back, the battery has been completely drained (according to the icon on the phone), it's the Red of the battery with no bar.  So I went back and charged him and he immediately showed them was still left half battery (it literally went a half of the white battery red battery).

Whenever I plugged it in the wall, it works very well and doesn't show any problem. As soon as I use it freely is when problems occur. I had to take my charger everywhere with me for the last two days.  What is happening with my Blackberry?

Thanks in advance to anyone who helps.

This is the reason to worry, just here.  A good smartphone battery will give you a year and a half to two years of reliable service depending on usage, of course.  What we can do is eliminate it is a software problem.  Once we have eliminated that, all that remains is for you to get a new battery, knowing that yours is on its last breath.

I would like you plug your phone to your PC and open BlackBerry Desktop Software.  Once your phone is connected, click device at the top of the software and then restore.  Choose the most recent restore point and load it on your phone.  Once that your phone has rebooted, see if the problem persists.  If so, go out and get a new battery (or, better yet, a new phone BB10).  If the problem corrects itself, then you are welcome.

Keep us updated on your progress.

    Help, please

Hello and welcome to the community!

I suggest the following, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2, each should result in a message to your BB to come...) Please wait for this before moving on to the next step):

    (1) registry HRT

    • KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with wireless network
    • Please wait a 'registration' message reach your Messages application

    (2) remove and return Service directories

    • KB05000 Remove the maintenance book for the BlackBerry Internet Service email account in the BlackBerry smartphone
    • If you do not have access CMIME, continue deleting
    • KB02830 Send the directories for the BlackBerry Internet Service
    • Please wait "the Activation' Messages, one per already configured e-mail account, arrive in your Messages. If you have not already configured email accounts, please wait 1 hour.

    (3) restart to take batt

    • Each time a random strange behavior or slow creeps, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the hood back and remove the battery. Wait a minute, then replace the battery and cover. Power on and wait patiently through the long reboot - about 5 minutes. See if things return to functioning. Like all computing devices, BB suffers from memory leaks and others... with a hard reboot is the best remedy.

I hope that will move things again for you! If any stage does not properly complete, proceed to the subsequent steps will be useless... and you will need to contact your mobile provider for formal support. It's their network that your BB is unable to communicate with, after all.

    Good luck!

I'm new to smartphones and Blackberry. I got one at my new job. I charged all night and I now can't seem to see my emails. The Red led lights up for a few seconds and then there is a pause, then a very small hourglass on the screen and the light around the touch pad.  None of the buttons are sensitive.  Can someone tell me what to do to participate? I went to the blackberry, demos manuals, but nothing is in it. I'm not very tech savvy either.  Thank you.

    The 9850.

Perform a simple reboot on the BlackBerry this way: with smart BlackBerry poweredphone, remove the battery for a minute and then reinsert the battery to restart. A reboot in this manner is prescribed for most defects and errors of operating system, and you will lose any data on the device doing so.

  • BlackBerry smartphones RECEIVES the MAILS to FOLDERS other than Inbox

    Hello world

I have this problem that I'm trying to work around. On my yahoo mail, I've created rules for certain categories of emails coming. These rules to move messages that meet the criteria for folders that I created.

Now I have yahoo mail configured on my blackbery device but not to receive emails from other folders. All I get is emails that appear in my main Inbox folder.

Through the settings on my phone and can't find an option or a setting that can help me solve this problem.

    Ideas anyone?

    * I'm using BIS service

    Hello

using BIS, it's the processing order:
    1 your Y! mail server receives e-mails
2 your Y! mail server applies the rules
3 your Y! mail server sends messages from the Inbox to your server of BIS
4 your BIS server sends the emails to your BlackBerry smartphone

Therefore, there is no way to do what you want using Yahoo!.

I can suggest you see if it is possible to have the rules applied subsequently (I don't think it's possible with the electronic mail of Yahoo!).

If you want to automatically move messages into folders and have them on your device, you must use an e-mail provider that allows it. To this day, I know Microsoft Exchange can (in a corporate environment) and Google Mail (because the records are considered labels).

  • BlackBerry smartphones, remove the "BOLD" Sprint 9650 identifiers

I have an old 9650 "BOLD" that was initially linked to the Sprint network.  I ordered a new SIM from Mobal international SIM card and now my 9650 has successfully used two local GSM providers (AT & T and T-Mobile) and managed to make phone calls.

When the phone starts up, it always says Sprint and shows my old sprint phone number which is not the same as the number assigned to my new SIM card.  Is there a way to remove this information and or wipe clear my BB to his "original non-Sprint State.

    Thank you

Hello and welcome to the community!

This initial carrier 'splash screen' is hard coded and cannot be changed. When the devices are manufactured, they are made for a specific carrier... and some of these companies have deals where this start screen is included. But it doesn't mean anything... If your device is carrier/MEP unlocked, then the splash screen shows just what the VendorID of the device (which is initially made for carrier). Unlocked is unlocked, regardless of the start screen (but you cannot change the home screen... it is permanent).

In regards to displayed phone number, see:

It might be that Sprint and/or from your current provider or do something on their networks... but you would need to enquire with them. Move a CDMA device to a non-CDMA service can be difficult, with many of the latent unexpected results (like this one). You can also find other useful KBs on point... you need to search for more.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones using the calendar/Agenda when you don't have a data plan.

Hi all, I just got a BB Curve 9320 model to replace my LG dead.  I use the phone for my convenience only but I fondly I remember my old Palm Pilot and it's wonderful calendar application that allows me to keep track of my life and where I was supposed to be and when.  I had hoped that the curve would be able to do the same thing with its calendar function.  I thought that using the BB desktop and connect my laptop to enable them to communicate that I would have the same function, like the Palm Pilot has made in my previous life of the curve.  Unfortunately, I have not been able to get it to operate than I had imagined... I do something bad or without the data plan is - it simply not possible?

Hello and welcome to the community!

What is wrong is your waiting... what you expect is not a feature designed... a few things to discuss... so bear with me...

Unlike other how things, RIM does not provide a desktop PIM. Others force you to use their PIM and only their PIM. RIM provides a driving software that works as a bridge between your PIM and the BB. See this compatible PIM KB:

    • KB12268 Applications supported by BlackBerry Desktop Manager to synchronize

So, to do what you want requires the use of a desktop PIM for your data... Choose a compatible PIM (from above). Then, enter your data in the PIM Office. Next, configure the BB to sync with the PIM:

  • BlackBerry smartphone on the Blackberry 9900 Photo

    Hello

I have lots of photos on my blackberry 9900. I just dropped it and broke the screen but still works. It was a wake-up call that's all really to make me pass my photos somewhere before I lose them!

However when I connect my blackberry to my computer via a USB port only some of the photo are available for open - they all transfer, but when I try and open the most recent, he said only: they are too big or corrupt.

However, I can still view them on the phone and I can e-mail them to myself. I'd rather not do that if there are loads!

Alexandra suggestions on why what is happening and if there is a solution would be very warmly reeceived.

    Thank you very much.

These photos are saved in the memory of your device OR on the press card?

If in the device memory, you can move them to your card.

  • Icon for blackBerry Smartphones on the homescreen - yellow globe

I've only had my Blackberry for a few days, but an icon appeared on there earlier today which is exactly where appear new SMS and e-mail notifications. It is a yellow globe as the browser icon and has a '1' beside him. I don't know what that means and would appreciate any assistance in finding a way to get rid of it or open anything symbolizing.

    Thank you, caroline.

A yellow globe... Open your main messages folder, and then click the Menu (to the left of the trackball) to SHOW the FOLDERS button.

Look first in the WAP messages, and clear or open all messages.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones GPS, the 8300 and ATT

I got my 8300 about a year previously and has waited until now to install the Garmin Mobile for Blackberry.

Cingular says it had GPS 'ability' and I thought that it meant "integrated."  I paid $100 for the Garmin

Download and got the version for phones WITH GPS.  Naturally he has no satellite.

It is then that I discovered that I have the 8300 and not the 8310.  In addition, I had no Blackberry Maps

featured and was ready to download/install, when I noticed the statement that IT DOES NOT

ON ATT.  So, now I'm here with a bad brain trying to figure out how to get out of this trouble before

I fed the rest of my money to Garmin or ATT or the PERSON, to get a less-than-perfect GPS Setup.

I could get the Bluetooth GPS receiver, someone else purchased for about $60. Garmin Mobile software

is an OF WHAT GPS with integrated phone and I noticed somewhere that it does not work for phones receive signals

a Bluetooth receiver.  To stay with Garmin, I have to buy their package for about $150, which includes a

receiver and the software to go with it.  Using THIS plan, buy one once, there seems to be no. $ 9.99/month

subscription to process. (I'm wrong, or am I missing something here?)

I could get the receiver for $60 as shown above and subscribe to Telenav GPS stuff that came with

My att phone. I downloaded the new maps of them today, but I am not at all impressed with their quality.

I also think that it is outrageous to pay the subscription of $9.99 / month to something I have trouble reading.

Then... I guess I wonder if I should cut my losses here and go get the Garmin Nuvi that someone else

has said was excellent for car navigation?  I like really use my 8300 for everything and have GPS it would sweep.  But I don't know if I combine a GPS system on the phone that he would give me the configuration of navigation that I would.

There you have it. Opinions and advice are appreciated. BJ

"One thing that made me hesitate to go to the BlueTooth receiver was the suspicion that he has not used the satellites, but uses rather server signals, or receiving cell tower." "I ordered the receiver Globalsat BT BlueTooth - 359C last weekend; I'll let you know how it works. »

    .

    .

It works very well... and really uses satellites.  With Blackberry Maps, the dashboard for the navigation shows the speed you're going on the left, the right direction and a satellite icon in the middle with a number, which I guess is the strength of the signal.  The unit works as well for the location with Google maps, too.  Note: the key to the Bluetooth passcode is 0000.
