BlackBerry Smartphones international travel - England

I was in England at Christmas and I could send and receive texts (no problem), I could receive emails fine, but when I tried to send an email, she would not cross.  Icon next to him was a clock and it just sat there and never sent.  I thought they would go through the next time he checked for emails, but this never happened.  I went through all the adjustment options, and I don't see what could be the problem.  I have a data plan with AT & T unlimited and as I said I could receive emails fine.  I was usually connected to the O2 or Orange network while I was there.  I also had this problem in Amsterdam.  I am about to leave for England again on Wednesday, can someone help me with this problem?  Thank you!

Unlimited data on ATT plans are nothing unusual and they still offer them.

The reason for which you were able to receive emails... you have the BlackBerry data Plan on your account and you have Service directories for your e-mail. Look at your Bill, you may very well be charged for abandonment of the use of US data at a higher rate. Be careful and check.

SMS is totally different - no data, a different plan, have nothing to do with the data plan.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones International BB Pin Exchange

I have friends in other countries (I live in the USA) who wants to communicate via Messaging Instant of BB. If share us Pins BB & communicate via instant BB messaging will I have to pay anything to my door - AT & T... Also if I go to other countries & would like to communicate via Messaging Instant BB will take a "international"... data plan

1 PIN messaging and BlackBerry Messenger is part of your BlackBerry data Plan and as long as you have a data Plan unlimimted, PIN and BBM messaging is 'free' in the context of that. As far as localality is concerned... the United States the United States or US in the UNITED Arab Emirates and the Philippines in the Canada, anyway, there is no restriction on the SPINDLE and BBM Messaging.

    2. If you are traveling to another country, you need an International data plan to your account and then PIN and BBMessaging would be a part of this plan.

  • BlackBerry smartphones who travel in China

I will travel to China in March 2011. I was wondering if there is a Chinese prepaid sim card I can temporarily use blackberry (bb Messenger, navigation) for a month while I'm there?

If there is, I should release my identification number of the provider of services of blackberry in my country that I am currently using?

Any info on this would be greatly appreciated.

    Hello!

I spent some time in China last year, but never actually did exactly as you request. I used a unlocked BB (Torch) and obtained a China Unicom SIM with voice services and SMS only... I did not attempt to use the services of BIS-level this device. I had a second (Storm2) BB with me, it was on international roaming ASBL, so I was able to have all my services BIS/Bes, come to me that BB (as well as telephone calls to the my number we VZW). I simply used the torch as my phone in the country to stay in touch with my contacts there while I was there.

Now, that being said, I've heard people who "come out" with the reception of their BIS services for a short period once that they change carriers. Maybe it's that, if you were indeed get your unlocked BB and get a SIM card from a carrier of China, you can continue to receive your BIS services via your existing carriers BIS (fuelling just above the aircraft carrier from China). But, the thing given how restrictive are in China, I wouldn't count on it.

Best advice - find someone who speaks fluent Mandarin, English and talk about BB... to tell them about the details of what you want to do and have them help interface you with the carrier in China.

BTW - for what I needed, I found service on China Unicom to be much more reliable than China Mobile. She also tends to be faster (for data). I've been able to determine by directing my Storm2 to wander on one or the other and determined that, when I was (Beijing) China Unicom had superior coverage.

    Good luck!

  • BlackBerry smartphones who travel in Spain

I am a Canadian user and will travel to Spain in the near future. My question is: even of the BBM Will work and if so there will be a surcharge if I BBM friends at home.

    Thanks in advance,

    Pete.

You will need to connect your mobile operator with Bell, and inquire about any international data plan, while traveling in Spain. The details vary from one company to the company, and you will need to get specific Bell's costs.

That said, Yes, BBM works. If it costs extra while you travel at the international level will depend on the policy and a plan, you have in place on a trip to Bell.

    Good luck.

  • Need help with memory blackBerry smartphones internal. Please read

I had the storm for about 3 months and im really frustrated and confused because don't know how else to use it as a phone and email verification. I want to use it as a PDA, but I don't know how!  I tried to download apps but after 4 apps, he told me that the phone has no more memory to download more.  I'm sure that the storm is made to have more than 4 apps, so I know im doing something wrong.  Please help... I want to get the most out of this phone bc I like it.

    Thanks in advance

PS Ive also tried to transfer the applications on the external memory card, but I can't figure out how.  the only thing I can put on the external memory are music files.

Your AppMemory is very low... I recommend the following:

    • With power ON, remove the hood back and remove the battery. Wait a minute, then replace the battery and cover. Power on and wait patiently through the long reboot - about 5 minutes. See if things return to functioning. Like all computing devices, BB suffers from memory leaks and others... with a hard reboot is the best remedy.

See what increases your free AppMemory. You may need to do it on an occasional basis - some do it once a day just to keep things as clean as possible. Others (like me) use an application called quick sweater to simulate a batt restart - shoot once per day.

Regarding apps how it can manage - it is not a responsible question. It depends on the size of applications. Applications more large = less can be installed. Smaller apps = more can be installed. So it is really not possible to say that only 4 or 5 applications can be installed.

    Best!

  • BlackBerry Smartphones after International travel, cannot cross GSM network only WiFi internet

I live in Germany and recently went to the Netherlands. When I crossed the border, Vodafone made me cut my data services due to roaming, which I did.  When I went back in Germany and handed over running my data services, I now can't get internet access (browsing and e-mail) when I am connected to my network domestic wi - fi.  As soon as I get out of my house, I can't access e-mail or internet on GSM network.  Texting still works like the phone feature.    I hope there is a change in the fast configuration I can do, but so far, all indications are that it connects to the network vodafone.de, so I think it's a setting on the phone rather than a network problem.

I get the error message is "the network is currently unavailable...". »

Hi and welcome to the Forums!

I suggest the following, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2, each should result in a message to your BB to come...) Please wait for this before moving on to the next step):

    (1) registry HRT

    • KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with wireless network

    (2) remove and return Service directories

    • KB05000 Remove the maintenance book for the BlackBerry Internet Service email account in the BlackBerry smartphone
    • KB02830 Send the directories for the BlackBerry Internet Service

    (3) restart to take batt

    • Each time a random strange behavior or slow creeps, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the hood back and remove the battery. Wait a minute, then replace the battery and cover. Power on and wait patiently through the long reboot - about 5 minutes. See if things return to functioning. Like all computing devices, BB suffers from memory leaks and others... with a hard reboot is the best remedy.

I hope that will move things again for you! If this isn't the case, then you should contact your provider of wireless services for formal support.

    Good luck!

  • Applications blackBerry Smartphones to be recorded in the internal storage card or media other than RAM.

    Hi guys,.

    512 MB of RAM
    4 GB of storage internal

If I install any appps blackberry app world are those get saved in the RAM memory, which reduces the speed of the aircraft, to help me how do to install applications to the media card or internal storage

    Thank you best regards &,.
    Sandra

    Hello!

There are three types of potential memory on a BB: 1) application memory, the device memory) 2 and 3) Media/SD Card Memory.

Application memory - it is the most important; It is protected (not available to the user), dedicated and (fixed size) space as the destination for the installation of applications (more a few storage applications, overhead and other costs). You can't touch AppMemory. You cannot improve the maximum AppMemory that your BB has. It is what it is. Applications can install only here... There is no other choice.

The device memory - it is space on your BB you can touch these files, images, media, etc. In general, it is not very big, but it is available.

Memory card SD/Media- is what it says... your SD card to store files, media, photos, etc.. It can be as large as your BB OS can support... see this KB:

    • KB05461 Sizes of card MicroSD taken in charge by the BlackBerry device software

On some devices/OS levels, you can see 'Free file' (Options > status), I think this is equivalent to AppMemory. You can see on other devices, all the memory usage levels three (Options > memory). Here are some tips to use:

    • KB02843 What is the function of low memory manager on the BlackBerry smartphone
    • KB14320 How to maximize space and power battery life on the BlackBerry smartphone
    • KB14213 Call logs, SMS text and email messages are deleted from the BlackBerry smartphone

Finally, it is always important to correctly close applications when you are finished with them. Using the back or on the red button won't do that - those leave the app to decide what to do... and some let themselves memory-resident, consumes resources on your BB, slowing down the overall performance. On the contrary, to close an application, tap on and select 'Close' or 'Quit'... which force the application to be closed, freeing resources for your new use it consumed. Some applications will always be running (in general - BBMessenger, browser, homescreen, phone and Messages)... but, you should always close them properly - especially the browser... If we leave on a web page, it will not consume only additional resources, but the power of the battery as well.

In addition, each time a random strange behavior or slow creeps, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. Some have taken to do this on a regular basis as a preventive measure... some as often as once a day. Others got the app QuickPull to automate a simulated Batt Pull.

    Good luck!

  • BlackBerry Smartphones built in storage media errors, not now restart...

During the last two weeks, I received several cases where I received

the following error message: "built in storage not accessible due to a detected errors. You want to repair? »

I said yes and he fixed the problem.  Yesterday, I sent a BBM message and the phone reset... on suddenly it reboot only gets 3/4 of the way through the startup process (stops under the 1 'r' in the Blackberry logo).

I tried a multitude of things I've seen on many forums, including let it stand all night with the battery, try to start in safe mode (which I never could get it to do).  This morning, it does the same thing.  I found a post that suggested to reformat the internal memory, which I should have done when I had questions.

Is it possible to get this reformatted internal memory if the phone does not start?  Any suggestions would be helpful.  I will ask a new phone of my business, but know that I won't get it until tomorrow... so I'm willing to try anything to make it work again (today).

P.S. Yes, I'm one of those guys who will lead to 10 miles around traffic stopped, just to keep moving! ;-)

    Hi chmberry

That's what I set my phone freeze (9860). By JSanders.

    (1) make sure that you have Blackberry Desktop Manager installed.
    http://NA.BlackBerry.com/eng/services/desktop/
    (2) on your PC, go to start > run and copy and paste the following line exactly (i.e. with quotation marks):

    'c:\program files\common research in motion\apploader\loader.exe' /nojvm

    (3) the Application Loader Wizard will appear - click on "next".
    (4) in the ' connection: ' drop-down menu, you should see "USB - PIN: UNKNOWN". Click on the button "next".
    (5) you should see a list of applications ready to be installed for your Blackberry. Press Next and finish, and that you are well on your way to get your Blackberry to life. Congratulations! Just unplug and let the process finish completely.

NOTE: If you do not display the list of applications mentioned in step 5 and instead to see the message "the Blackberry Desktop Software has no Blackberry Device Software for the device you have connected to the computer. Contact your wireless service provider or system administrator', then you must download the Blackberry operating system for your support and your device.

BlackBerry Device Operating System downloads: http://www.blackberryforums.com/blackberry-device-specific/
Simply select the model of the device in the list and download the latest version. Install this download and follow the steps above again and you should be on the right track.

IF the above does not work or help, you need to use JL_Cmder to wipe the device and then load the operating system on the device. Follow the instructions here:

    Download JL_Cmder http://www.blackberryforums.com/rim-software/18789-jl_cmder.html
    or download BBSAK http://bbsak.org/download.php

  • Sellers of understanding of blackBerry on blackberry Smartphones

    Hey

My boss gave me his old blackberry. He used proximus (Belgium). I don't think that the phone is locked (how I see this?).

He also had a problem with in the past, this has been fixed but suddenly no more Dutch language.

I searched this forum and found a software link (Desktop & Device Software Download Sites for BlackBerry users):

If you have not purchased your BlackBerry® smartphone directly from Research In Motion (RIM), please select the link to your service provider below to download the BlackBerry® Desktop Software and BlackBerry® Device Software that your service provider has authorized for use with your device.

If I understand correctly: Let's say if I'm going to buy a new company BASIC SIM card (a provider of services in Belgium), I need to install the software for this service provider.

Does this mean that if I am abroad (outside), I can't use the phone more?

I need blackberry device software to reinstall the blackberry, so the Dutch language is back.

Is there a difference between these software (sorted by country) or what's available that's different languages?

Hello and welcome to the community!

You have several misunderstandings... then this post will be a bit long... Sorry about that...

    # With the appropriate tips (below), you can use any bundle of BONES of any carrier, as long as it's your specific model BB number.

    haramo wrote:

    Completely independent.

To use your BB when out of your network home, and if you want to keep your home SIM card inserted, you must have stored with your carrier network for roaming, international data plan if that's where you are roaming to.

To use your BB on a network of different carrier with their SIM card, you must first have unlocked your BB is carrier home (see above for that).

Other (applies to both), your BB must be compatible with the carrier data network technology and frequency... If the radio inside your BB does not support the network of the carrier, then nothing will work. If it is compatible, then you should be able to receive voice-level services. But for data level BB services, must still ensure that your specific model BB number is supported by this network of carrier for AutoShip of HRT and maintenance to your BB book... If not, then you will not be able to receive data of BB services.

    haramo wrote:

Is there a difference between these software (sorted by country) or what's available that's different languages?

It's actually more and less complicated than that. Looking at all the 4 bytes of the version number of the operating system, if the two carriers have the same version, then the package is the same from the functional point of view BB. However, each company tends to "Pack" the package they release with some specific things from carrier, but none of this is really necessary... it's usually just things like icons of teaser for applications that a carrier has agreed to try to push their users. Not important.

Regarding the language, it is not simply a matter of the carrier you choose. It is rather a question of the OS package you choose, such as governed by this KB:

    • Article ID: KB05305 Location of support for BlackBerry smartphones

    haramo wrote:

I need blackberry device software to reinstall the blackberry, so the Dutch language is back.

OK, with all the foregoing of the road now, the easiest way is, on a PC (you can not do this on MAC):

    (1) make sure that you have a current backup and your BB complete... you can find the instructions at the link in my auto-sig below.

    2) uninstall all the BB OS packages from your PC,

    (3) make sure you have the BB Desktop Software already installed

    (4) download and install on your computer, the BB OS package you want:

    • If all you want are the levels of BONE, it is first sorted by carrier - the carrier supports, your search will be fast. However, some carriers are much slower than others to release updates. To really get the package up-to-date OS for your BB, you need to dig through and find all businesses that support your specific model BB and then compare the BONE levels they support.
    • Use the location KB link above as your guide to choose a package that contains the language you want.

    5) remove all copies of the SELLER on your PC. XML... There will be at least one and maybe 2, and they will be located in the same way or to (it changes based on your version of Windows) these files:

    • C:\Program Files (x 86) \Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader
    • C:\Users\(your Windows username) \AppData\Roaming\Research In Motion\BlackBerry\Loader XML

6 (a) to change your level of BB OS installed (at level or lower), you can run the Desktop software and connect your BB... the software should offer the operating system package you have installed on your PC.

6 (b) or, for recharging your BB OS level installed as well to change, work around the Desktop software and use the CHARGER. EXE directly, through step 2 in this process:

If, during the process of 6a or 6 b, your BB has an error '507', simply unplug the USB of the BB cord and reinsert it. do nothing else... This should allow the installation to continue. When installing, be sure to check deeply to all available applications to choose to settle... don't forget to dig deep into each element of multi-level and don't forget that you have selected everything that relates to your language (s) you want.

Good luck and let us know!

  • Storage of applications for blackBerry Smartphones

Hey everyone... I use my 9790 bold, he repeats to me my memory to applications is 512 MB internal memory of the phone's 8 GB! So is there anyway to increase this limited storage for applications? In addition, this space does not increase if I use an external MicroSD memory?
