  This is probably not really an issue of curve, but I currently have the 8320, and I had this blocked number call me 19 times between yesterday and today. When I pick it up, nobody says anything. I hang up and they call right after. Is it possible to know what number is calling me?

  I tried to contact my service provider (T-Mobile), but the guy with that I spoke was not helpful at all.

  There is no way.  That's the beauty of block your number.  The carrier would be the only way, if there is one.

• BlackBerry Smartphones Alt - Key when entering numbers

  Hey all - I'm new to the Board and looking for help. I have the 8830 world edition and use if for a little over a year now. When I type numbers I usually hold down the alt key and enter the number I want to - I could just hold down the ALT key and type in numbers; useful when you must enter a few at a time. Well, yesterday, all of a sudden this process no longer works. Now, I have to keep alt - ky, type a number for the next issue, I have to repeat once again - cannot simultaneously, hold the alt key and enter numbers. I know how Caps - Alt to enter long strings of numbers, but now it's a drag. Press alt, key number... repeat... ARGH!

  I checked keyboard settings and couldn't find anything useful, and hoping that this forum can help. Thank you!

  Here's what I did that worked. Turn off Blackberry, remove the battery, wait about 1 minute, insert the battery, turn way, back to normal.

  Hi @joedevo! Welcome to the Forums! I'm sorry that you're having problems with your BlackBerry.

  Please check this box:

  • Go to Options (the one with the wrench)
  • Select Security>Parental controls.
  • Please check if the Parental controls is enabled, this could be the reason why you cannot use the browser and the BlackBerry App World
  • If it is enabled, see if the "browser" and "Facilities application" are NOT checked
  • Uncheck the option "Activate" entirely o disable Parental control, you will be prompted to enter a 4-digit password. You must know this password to perform this task.

  Furthermore, you got this unit brand new?

  I need to download my contacts on my desk and then be able to view them. I think that they are downloaded. I can't find any way to view them. When I try, it says that I can not open a .ipd file. I tried to open with WORD, and that didn't work of course. Now, every time I save my contacts, they save in WORD format.   Well some applications are still running in the background (browser, homescreen, BlackBerry Messenger, phone, Messages)

  Remove the battery again, leave a few minutes and try again. If it continues to not start, you may need to wipe and reload the operating system.

• BlackBerry Smartphones BBM feature request: blocking messages broadcast

  I searched this forum and (surprisingly) not found references to what is perhaps the most annoying 'feature' that LINE has implemented since I've owned a Bay. In providing the function of dissemination in the new versions of Messenger, my berry is now subject to the same stupid, irrelevant, spam stupid and/or non-original jokes/rumors/prayer-request type that I keep vigorously against my Inbox. However, while I can set up filters and rules to block these unwanted e-mail messages, there are no these controls don't present in BBM and the only way to effectively counter offenders is to remove them from your list of contacts, which is a sledgehammer vs. nut solution, to say the least.

  In my contacts list, there are some people who regularly send such messages and then there are others who are completely irritated by them, like me, but then make the situation worse by sending broadcasts aggravated, bad character complain the previous messages. When you have a couple hundred contacts, it can really become quite ridiculous sometimes day when a popular joke or even walked around.

  So, I would ask that the BBM dev team seriously investigate add an option 'Block' diffuse - ideally on a per contact basis, but I'd settle for a solution like all or nothing, as I am willing to sacrifice the 1% of useful messages that I receive if it spares me the disturbance of other 99%. If my own list of contacts is something to go, I'm not the only person who'd be enormously grateful for it to be implemented as quickly as possible, or I'm the only one grinch in the building?

  I just want to remove these shippers from my BBM contacts list. If they ask why, I tell them the truth.

  Yep!  Just hold the «!» 123 "for a second or two and it will act as a your regular keyboard num lock button.

  I have a BB Curve 8520 and dowbkoaded Facebook on it, everything seems to work fine except "Favorite places" whenever I try to use the part of Facebook places the message I get says "Support GPS your device does not support location-based services.   The Curve 8520 has no GPS capabilities.  When you say that you and your friend have the same phone, which is perhaps not entirely accurate; the curve is available in different levels: 8520, 8530, 3G and there may be others I'm missing.

  It's like another month now when the new OS 7 phones are released, if someone were to say, "I have a BlackBerry Torch", you could answer with, ' which one of the four torches do you own?

  Oh boy... okay... what you want to do now is to run a device not supported on a carrier network. Be fully aware of what that means. A high probability of zero is supported by the carrier... zero. With this in mind, there are ways to run an another carriers OS on your device. You will first need to hunt through other carriers for a bundle of BONES for your exact model BB device. Once you find it, you can try this procedure to use.

  When you configure an e-mail address on your BlackBerry, you are associating the delivery of this email address to your phone PIN code.  You can have an e-mail address goes to two different pins at the same time.
