As the title suggests it is possible to copy the contacts from the bold 9900 list uses windows exlorer to the computer? I can't install DM on the computer.

Please let me know

Victor

Hello and welcome to the community!

Unfortunately, not... the BlackBerry Desktop Software is required to retrieve information about the device protected databases. They are not available in Windows Explorer.

What is happening with not being able to install DM? Something goes wrong? Or you may even try?

Good luck and let us know!

  • BlackBerry Smartphones social RSS/BB Core apps - not available in the Desktop Manager?

Hello everyone. I'll have a bit of a problem with my Bold 9700 since update to Os 6. (Details attached).

    OS: 6.0 bundle 1676 (v 6.0.0.418) (platform 6.6.0.105)

    Career: Grameen phone (GP), Bangladesh

    Office Manager: 6.0.1.18 (released: December 6, 2010)

When I connect my BB to the Manager of the Fund, under the 'Applications' tab it does not show any add/del/put option to update the base of BB applications i.e. - BBM, factory installled games or messengers installed (Gtalk, Msn etc.). The only thing displayed are some games/apps I downloaded when I was still with os 5 (attached image).

I also want to add the stream of 'Social' and I understand that this is only possible through Desktop Manager. But, as shown above there is no option to do so.

Is it because I'm on an operating system that is not yet certified by my career? Or something else altogether? What is the solution?

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Concerning

    Ashraf

That's the problem with the Office Manager. It will not show the basic BB apps now. To do this, you need to open Loader.exe, a part of the Desktop Manager separately. If you use a windows pc, here's how:
    For x 86 systems:
    C:/Program Files/Common Files/research in Motion/Apploader/Loader.exe
    For x 64 systems:
    C:/Program Files (x 86) /Common Files/research in Motion/Apploader/Loader.exe

Run it and choose your device, type password if requested and then voila, you have everything you want.

BB6 updates to 9700, social feeds app and syn music wireless apps are not installed, sometimes also all the BB extra apps such as games like brickbreaker and doc to go are not installed, then use loader.exe to make. Loader.exe can also update your device and let's you choose which you want to install or remove during the process of updating, requesting the dekstop manager now doesnot apps. So better to use loader.exe to update as well. Regarding the upgrade to an operating system not yet supported by your network, unless yu have a problem with your network, that is to say the calls or the internet, keep the last Os because it offers you more.

All the info and other guides for all associated with blackberry and more are at crackberry, google it and you will get it.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones stopping incoming emails when it is connected to the Desktop Manager

    Hi all

Me, stupidly, recently upgraded to the new v6 of DM when you are prompted to do so.   Since then, I was not able to prevent emails coming wireless when my BB is connected on the software.   I WANT THAT ABILITY BACK!

OK, I realize I am perhaps odd in not wanting to have to deal with emails twice (Office AND on my BB) but I've been happily using my BB to the untethered email only.

So the question is: How can I stop my BB receive emails when plugged in the DM?   (I have not yet tried roll back to the previous version of DM as that shocks a bit my sense of progress.)

    Any suggestions out there?

    Z

I removed 6.0 DM and re-installed DM5.0 and everything is now working back again as it was.

RIM need to consider seriously any roll outs of the "update" software like what they've done is wet off clients at best a beta version, with fewer features, but hey, the interface looked good!

  • BlackBerry smartphone how to restore a backup of Q10 on a Bold 9900

Sorry, didn't like the Q10.   She was 2 months old and abandoned.  How to transfer all my contact information. the Q10 for the bold 9900?  Both phones run on different fund managers.  I have a PC and have the link and the blackberry Desktop Manager software.

Sheldon is correct, you cannot restore a backup of Q10 to a 9900...

However, if you are looking for just your contacts, installed the third-party application part Intouch Contacts of AppWorld on both devices. Backup your contacts to InTouch on your Q10, then restore this file to your 9900 by logging in on the same account in InTouch

  • BlackBerry smartphones is possible to get contacts will appear on schedule in the BB?

New in BB / seeks to know whether there is a way to get contacts that sync to Blackberry (from Outlook) will appear on the calendar entry in Blackberry.  I can't seem to find how - begins to wonder if she just cannot be done.

Hello and welcome to the Forums of Support BlackBerry.com.

Your question is unclear to me.

Yes, you can sync contacts Outlook to the BlackBerry. Use of Desktop Manager > Sync.

Appears in a calendar entry? As you can schedule a meeting with a contact and have it show in the calendar entry?

Yes, create a calendar and even if, in the editing for this entry window > press Menu > invite participants.

Select your contact, and the device will send to your contact the calendar invite.

    Is this what you need?

  • Is blackBerry smartphones there a way to edit your contacts in the Desktop Manager?

I'm trying to understand how to change your contacts via the Desktop Manager... is it possible?

So now you have the contacts in Outlook?

So, edit your contacts in Outlook, get them as you want.

And then you use the Desktop Manager > Sync > back to your BlackBerry.

    You are doing things.

You cannot edit contacts directly in Desktop Manager... it doesn't work just like that on a BlackBerry, as users might be accustomed to using a Palm, which has its own separate software to do this. BlackBerry decided not to reinvent the wheel by creating a whole new software, when many many users already have a demand on their PC that does it well.

  • Help blackBerry smartphones, I've lost all my contacts!

OK, so I just installed new software on my Storm 9500 (Version 5.0.0.451) and now I've lost all my contacts.

As far as I know they have been stored in the Blackberry Desktop Software, how do I now restore them?

    Hello!

KB10339 How to restore data from a backup file to a BlackBerry smartphone

If you don't know where is the backup file, search your entire hard drive for a file with an extension of the RPI (*.ipd). Inspect the results - mainly date/time of the file. Select the candidate most likely and use it as a source in the above procedure.

  • BlackBerry smartphones is possible to upgrade my Bold 9000 that is unlocked and I have no carrier?

    BB 9000

    Current operating system - v4.6.0.282
Used Rogers, now using BB especially for WiFi, photos, calendar, notes, music
Using 7/11 Speak Out for the phone's antenna.

Due to SIGNIFICANT budget constraints and a newer phone smart (No BB) dying, I'm back to my workhorse of 9000 "BOLD"!

Would like to pass so I can download most current applications, I see that you have need of blessing and access

a business to do so. Gee, download CD or the internet, would be a good way to upgrade my 9000 "BOLD" instead.

I am a long time BB user and it would be nice to always support BB... are you listening Blackberry / RIM?

Any other ideas of the forum on how to get an upgrade solution would be greatly appreciated.

PS - This is my first post on the forum.

    Follow these steps:

    1. start by searching for your operator and the system operating file that you want to use.

    http://NA.BlackBerry.com/eng/support/downloads/download_sites.jsp

Tip: I suggest this because they offer the OS 5.0 for 9000:

    https://swdownloads.BlackBerry.com/downloads/entry.do?code=1141938BA2C2B13F5505D7C424EBAE5F

    2. it's not bad to do a manual of your device first, backup using the Desktop Manager > backup. Close at the end Office Manager and disconnect it from BlackBerry. You can get the BlackBerry Desktop Software here http://us.blackberry.com/apps-software/desktop/

    3. download the OS from step 1 of the file on the PC then install on the PC by running (double click) the downloaded file.

    4. go into c:\program files Research in motion\apploader and delete the file named "vendor.xml." Also, check the following locations for the vendor.xml file and delete all instances of the file:

On Windows Vista/7, go to C:\Users\YOUR_USER\AppData\Roaming\Research in XML Motion\BlackBerry\Loader (where 'YOUR_USER' is your user name)

On Windows XP, go to C:\Documents and Settings\YOUR_USER\Application is In Motion\BlackBerry\Loader XML (where 'YOUR_USER' is your user name)

5 use BBSAK from BBSAK.org and wipe the device (after doing a full backup), then after you get the 507 error (no OS installed) then go to the next step.

    6. plug the BlackBerry and double-click on "Loader.exe." It is located in c:\program files\common research in motion\apploader

  • BlackBerry smartphones update AND EVERYTHING to LOSE! Warnings for the updates are necessary

I was and am still sort of next to me.

I received an announcement / notice on my blackberry Curve today that I needed an update, now being the novice user to the technology in the sense of phone I did as he asked. I've updated, woooohoooo, fine, now my phone will be even better, right?

    WRONG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I LOST EVERYTHING, MY PHOTOS (3 TAKES JUST 2 HOURS PREVIOUS) MY VIDEOS AND BUSINESS CONTACTS...

So what I did? Well, first of all, I cried (it has been a month really incredibly bad), so I'm crazy and cussed and almost taken over my van and drove my phone because how I just lost all the evidence, I would need to win in an upcoming trial. I felt that all hope was lost.

Well, instead of flipping out that I was going I thought ok, I'll call T-Mobile and speak to a REP Smartberry Blackberry, they will know what to do as always, right? Well, it was a loss of 12 minutes on hold. He said once you update, unless you have made a backup on the computer or have a memory card and saved individually for every single photo and video on what then everythings gone.

I said I just moved last week and a half and have not been able to download my stuff to the computer and don't know where my cord is, besides I said since when do I need to download everything and worry about losing things due to an update. I update my computer all the time and do not lose photos and others.

He said to update your BlackBerry is like defragment your computer, you will lose information. Well, I guess ignorance is a blessing because I defragment often and have never lost a file. (I know in all cases)

Anyway that I felt that he put the nail in my coffin, he don't mind not connect me to a 'specialist blackberry' waisting their time when I don't have back up before an update. I tried to inform him that the update didn't state that I could lose all the data, it didn't care. Let's say I was a little rude with my frustrations and hung up.

And then I contemplated driving on my new phone and then some.

I then started my own investigations in my phone. I can't tell you how or where I found it exactly. But I found a way to cancel my download and return to my original settings.

Well, I thought that I is not got nothing else to lose literally so I tried.

    Guess what?

I'M A HAPPY CAMPER! No mind thanks to you, T-Mobile or Blackberry forums. But my pictures and my video evidence is back.

And I can tell you this much, as I fear, the new update can puke!

For the brief time I got it, he stunk. To now record videos of it tells me to insert a memory card, there is already one in there? And it seemed not so good.

Technicians of Blackberry, creative or what you have, thanks to include a warning to your customers that they SHOULD back UP THEIR DATA before the UPGRADE IF THEY CARE TO KEEP THEIR FILES.

I'm glad to hear that you did a good job on your phone! Bravo for you!

    I have two questions:

I see two posts listed for you, both in this thread,

"I'M A HAPPY CAMPER! The spirit of no thanks to you two T-Mobile or Blackberry forums. "But my pictures and my video evidence is back... »

You asked for help in another forum or are you referring to this forum of Blackberry?

Also, please, let us know what version of the Desktop Manager you have, what kind of PC or MAC, and what version of device operating system that you are using. (on the blackberry, click the icon options)

Scroll to all on the first page, look for the version in this format vX.X.X.XXX... P; lease send it with your Blackberry model, OK? ')?

Now second question, do you need manuals, software, or procedures? I want to assure you, that you can access all the correct information for other upgrades. If we can help you with any outstanding issues please let me know.

A point for you to consider in the future. Just because there is a new version of the software whether 3rd party or device OS, you decide when or if you want to install it. If your phone works well, you can install if necessary when you have the time, a good backup and read about it here. If your phone does not work well (come here first) we can help you solve the two problems or say if you need to upgrade you differently.

Yes, there are some members of staff who stop every day and works behind the scenes and with users in messages, other that expressing the frustration was there any specific information you need of them?  An article on the upgrade, or by using the desktop software?

  • BlackBerry Smartphones far East language and other issues of Support for Bold 9780 - please provide your comments!

    Hello

Here is my card for your info:

BB Bold 9780 (bought 3 days ago - unlocked to carriers)

My carrier - Vodafone (Australia) - BIS active

    Computers - Macbook Pro

After some research on the web all day, I discovered that far East languages is not yet available on the Bold 9780.

I understand that I must language of d/l a far east of the carrier (mine is Vodafone Australia), in order to read and input Chinese, Japanese, or Korean language on the BB. It's extremely frustrating, and I feel that we're going backward in the field of smart phones - globalization have been an important factor for many bright smart phone users out there.

I have a few questions, I hope that you guys can provide comments:

    1. what kind of time we talk to have the language support for the far East region? I would never have bought the new BB (probably would have gone for the 9700) if I knew that East Asian languages is not available on the new BB! ?? I know that it is covered by the carriers, but surely RIM provides the build?

    2. as I am a newbie (I just 2.5 years of iPhones), I do not understand the concept (or it's documented all that clearly) to have a 5 device and software OS6? what the devil is the difference, or are they just the same? thinking, maybe this is... but why is already released OS6, but I still see the "last and best Device Software 5" throughout the site of BB? someone help me please understand this.

    3. is it possible that I can load an earlier version of the device software (Vodafone provides a Far - east Pak BB Bold 9700)? I tried several times, after running and unzipped the file in Desktop Manager, the device software is not even on my Desktop Manager (v6). is it because the Desktop Manager detects the version of my phone and does not allow vodafone to 9700 from the list of applications to load software? or does?

    4. on my MAC, I can't install the plugin App world - he says that it is not available on a Mac... How mac users supposed to do use desktop base access App World? I know that we are not a majority, but it is obsurd - that being said, I'm not unreasonable, I can live with that.

5 make BB have phone support in Australia? again, I can live with not one, but I've seen feeling is also unreasonable.

Please don't get me wrong - I could met whining - but I desperately want my new device works... I love so many things about the BB, and after taking the big step of the iphone, I find a lot of things that were never mentioned on crackberry, or any other site of fanboy of BB...

Thank you in advance, look forward to your comments!

    Hello

Okay... Let's start first... these forums are not a communication channel / rim. These forums are rather a community of support to users. RIM offers zero frontline support... all support is carried out by carriers and authorized resellers, who have the ability to escalate into WHEEL if necessary.

OK... with that of the road, we shall proceed:

Impossible for anyone here to know... or if they don't know, against the team of specialists on this site to reveal.

Another interest is the fact that, through the agent download portal for your carrier indicated, your BB model is not yet listed:

OS 6 is the next generation of BB OS (and there's even chatter on OS7 "out there"). The version the most recent supported by your operator is available via their download portal linked above (but with your conspicuous by their absence model number). OS 6 is now available for some model BBs only (I don't know if it has been released for your template declared BB). But the BONES are never published by RIM to the public... rather only to carriers who must certify and adopt an operating system and then release it to their users. The reason for this fall at the beginning of this post... they (carriers) are responsible for all support... so, they reserve the right to adopt or reject an OS that RIM just to present to them.

You can use ONLY a bundle of BONES that is your specific model BB number... nothing else will work. A 9700 isn't a 9780, so OS packages are not interchangeable. The best procedure, that I know about (upgrading, downgrading, reload) load a bundle of BONES is here:

Note that this only works on PC, Mac. But, you are not limited with this procedure, for only your carriers OS packages. You are free to use any bundle of BONES of any carrier until it's your specific model BB number. If you choose to do, then everything just insert, between steps 1 and 2, the deletion, on your PC, a file named PROVIDER. XML.

I send back you at the beginning... all support starts with your carrier.

  • BlackBerry smartphones can not get the Desktop Manager to recognize the connection to the device

I tried for days now to get the Desktop Manager to recognize a connection on my phone so that I can sync my Outlook contacts and calendar.  So far, I deleted and reinstalled the Manager several times.  I downloaded and installed the driver package.  I tried to do a battery pull before connecting the phone.

Whenever I connect the phone Microsoft "new hardware found" Wizard opens and it recognizes the Blackberry device but it cannot complete the installation of the phone because apparently missing a driver.

I love the phone, but it is useless for me until and unless I can sync it with Outlook.  Any suggestions?

OK, I found and fixed the problem!  It had to do with the new Windows assistant material not being able to find the driver for the Blackberry device.  When I did the uninstall process part included saving the pilot atl.dll.  I assumed it was the driver that I needed to make things work.  I searched on the C: drive for the file, and when the new device Wizard came I pointed to the spot.  The Assistant began to load the driver.  He asked another file that is part of the Service Pack 2 of Windows and I searched and found this one as well and directed the Assistant for her.  It finishes loading and the device is connected.

The problem at the end of the day was that the wizard could not find the driver that he needed, even if it is there all the time.

Thank you for the help, it lead me to the solution I needed.

I also recommend to download the operating system of your carriers site.  In this case, because you are with Verizon, you can access the download via this link: http://vzw.smithmicro.com/blackberry/download.aspx

In the drop-down list, select BlackBerry Storm 9530 and in the next page, enter your mobile phone number and download the MR3 (OS 5.0) OS.

Once you have downloaded on your computer, install, then open the BlackBerry Desktop Manager and first back up your phone.

NOTE: Do NOT wipe to FORGET to RETURN to the TOP YOUR DATA in reloading your OS will all your phone data.

If you wish, you can use the procedure described in the article provided by sdgardne, but if you want a BONE free reinstall method that I personally prefer now more trouble, you can use the steps I wrote here:

    http://supportforums.BlackBerry.com/T5/BlackBerry-device-software/how-to-reload-your-operating-syste...

Or the other method should work (apparently, I never tried the method of the KB article as it did not work in the previous version of the Desktop Manager software, but I have confirmed that the method I wrote doesn't work).
