  I installed OS6 on my bold9700 lastnite and my phone shows "error app 606" asking me to reset but when I do, it says the same thing. I would have tried to re - download another OS on the phone but I can't even open the phone via the desktop device manager. I really need help; I'm already bored without my blackberry phone.   I was always under the impression that I needed to download and install the latest software for my carrier device (for my PC) before I can update my BlackBerry OS.

  However, I had a PC brand new, installed the latest 5.0.1 BlackBerry Desktop Manager software and then plugged a device with an earlier version of the operating system installed.

  The loading of the DTM he told me that there is newer software available and asked if I want to update the device.

  Can someone tell me where it's getting this update since? It's directly at RIM or it sees somehow what carrier I use and get updates of my career?

• BlackBerry smartphones URGENT aid NEEDS! -Bold 9700

  Hello everyone,

  I am a user of 9700 in Western Australia, and I just recently upgraded my OS to 6.

  HOWEVER.

  Since last night, I was able to reboot my BB.

  Everything started after he told me to download the Setup Email application, which she knew perfectly - until he had to restart.

  I clicked restart, like you, but now my BB's STUCK!

  It bascially is found on the loading with BB logo screen and the loading bar - it loads completely full and then does absolutely nothing.

  I tried battery pulls, I tried to make the connection to the computer laptop thingy but still nothing seems to work. I also tried to take the microSD card and stuff.

  When you attempt to connect to the PC method, it worked little when he started to sync with my laptop. However, I hit a dead end when he told me to put my device password, and I couldn't do on the BB itself, it was stuck on the sync-logo screen.

  I tried different time periods for the battery grips and last night after I remove the battery for 1 HOUR - I stuck it left and in return it at NIGHT while I was sleeping when I wake up, it is still stuck on the loading screen!

  I'm at my wits end!

  PLEASE HELP ME! -I can't make anything work!

  I hope that someone out there has a solution (short of buying a new Blackberry because I can't exactly pay a new at the moment - AND I REALLY NEED MY BB for WORK!)

  Problem solved, but I had to go about it in different ways.

  In the end I had to use my BB on my PC software (I used my Mac before).

  I found myself without downgrading the OS, then restoring everything.

  Right now, I decided to give another chance to OS 6, so hopefully things will go fine after that!

  I'm not an expert on the use of the MAC version of office, but the messages that you receive, there must be something more to clear. You could try a WIPE on the BB to really clear everything... then try the update again. Unless, of course, WIPE is what you mean when you said "Format".

  I checked a bit in this and apparently there are problems with the download link.  Try to download again the link now (on your Storm).  Apparently people had issues, but it seems to work now.  If this does not work, let me know and we can try a few other things.  And just in case, clear your cache browser or do a battery pull before installation to ensure that it's not going to a version cached (and so wrong) of the page.  Also, make sure that your browser ID is set to BlackBerry (and not Internet Explorer or Firefox).

I want my wife to use this case for his Bold 9780 but the magnet does not work by putting the camera in mode 'sleep'. Why is this? The case is a little big, but still fits well on the Bold 9780. Is the magnet misaligned a very little bit for the "BOLD"?

  I use an old case of leather case that has worked for my old Curve 8330, Bold 9780 and Torch 9800. So why not this new business. Y at - it something wrong with my case specifically, or if it is not designed to work for the "BOLD"?

  The placement of the magnet is different for different models of BBs. Some are interchangeable, the more I think are not. Therefore, it is always best to use a case that is made for the specific model of BB.

  It is simply not true.

  All GSM network devices (BlackBerry, Android, etc) use SIM cards.

  Network CDMA devices don't use SIM cards.

  These devices called 'Phones of the world' as your 9650 use SIM cards to connect to GSM networks.
