  [I know I am a "retarded" for even bringing this place, but we'll just go beyond the part and talk about what I really want to know here ]

  My wife and I went to an Android (Bionic) for me and an iPhone (4 s) for her. However, his old phone (Storm 2) has recently been replaced because his former 1 storm went wrong on her... and now, since my father thought finally get something to replace his old (not to mention, broken and unusable) Palm device, we thought we might as well give him the Storm 2 and see if it'll work out for what he wants.

  Here's the deal about my father and his PDA... already has a cell phone, so he won't move up to a smart phone, because he does not want to pay the extra money every month just to get a PDA phone when he probably never really use the data service much and all that.

  He wants a phone just to be a phone, and he also wants a PDA... just for the PDA part.

  So, I thought, very well... If he is not willing to move completely in the modern era, then we can at least give him something he can synchronize with Outlook (it works... I already tried) to have its calendar and contacts with him all the time (which it is not able to do with his simple mobile).

  So what I know is that it's possible, at least in a very limited sense... I have the Storm 2 sync with Outlook.
  However, here's my problem... for a reason, even if the wifi card appears to connect to the wifi here in their home access point, it is not actually get an IP address and can't get out on the internet with the browser integrated into all.

  My question is this...
  Is it because it is not possible (i.e. RIM has configured to disable the card wifi within the unit while there is no mobile phone service connected), or who should run, and I should watch more in the sense of something wrong at the level of the home network?

  The reason why I think that it could be something awkward like that within the device itself, it is my new Android and iPhone of the wife are able to connect to the network wireless home here very well.

  Sorry for such a long thing, goofy needs help, but I thought it is a good starting point. If anyone has ideas and is willing to help, please chime.

  p.s. I am a computer scientist. So I have that aspect covered... at least you do not work with a complete * beep * if you jump here.

  I thought about it. I did a search on google for the specific message I saw in 'wi - fi tools' (which was "no longer valid"ip address ") and found this thread...

  Replace the instructions appropriate for your other device instead of the transmitter unit KB section in the KB. Do not jump 'BT help to receive' step on the BB receiver... nothing will transfer if you do.

I tried to use the Fund Manager to update the operating system or reinstall, however, it does not give the possibility to reload the operating system.   I upgraded by OS for my BB Bold 9930.  Once the software has been loaded, my BBM icon has disappeared.

  2. Download and install (if you are prompted to allow version x.xx crush verson x.xx?, say YES)

  I would like to order the DTEK50, and before that, I need to know if there is a solution of Office BB to sync my Outlook calendar and contacts with the phone (no wifi, no exchange server, no cloud service, no outlook.com, just Windows 7 and USB connection).   BlackBerry does not sync software of office for use with PRIV, or DTEK50.

  While some third party options exist in the store to play for wired synchronization, I always ran wireless so I can't make all the recommendations. Therefore, I suggest to review some of these types of applications in the game store and see what kind of feedback people left, etc.

• BlackBerry smartphones can not get on Internet WiFi

  I have a Blackberry 8529. Provider is Vodafone. I always had problems with access to the internet (it is very slow and often says that the page is too large). However, I have broadband at home and thought, that I was connected to it--but apparently not. I tried to access our broadband from BT, but tells me to enter a PIN code (generated by my BB) in to the router to wide band. There is no way to do this (no keyboard, etc.). All I want to do is to connect to my Wifi, and it's really frustrating because it seems simply not work. I tried to do it manually (put in the name of the router, then the password), but he said that I could not connect that way or the other. Anyone have any ideas? Please? and please and please? I just want to work! Thanks in advance for any help or advice, you are able to offer.

  I recently got BIS activated on my blackberry bold 9780. I have wifi at home, which I use for faster navigation. I have two questions around that.

  When I connect the device with wifi, is it possible to know (or set) what connection is used for communication (BIS or wifi)?

  When I turned off the radio and keep only wifi on, I am able to browse all the pages except youtube.com. With youtube, I get an error message "cannot visit a web page when the radio is off. Please put the radio in the market, and then try again"

  Suppose I'm abroad without any intention to pay stratospheric roaming charges, is it possible to make the unit runs in wifi?

  If connection network and Wi - Fi are present, your phone will default the WiFi automatically.  To do this, connect to a Wi - Fi network and on your home screen, follow manage connections > Service status.  If you look under BlackBerry Internet Service, you should indicate a Wi - Fi connection.

  Navigation via the Wi - Fi should work for youtube, as well as other sites.  You have your data on Services?  In later versions of OS, you should be able to navigate even with disabled Data Services, but let's switch to see what is happening.  From your home screen, follow the connection management > networks and connections > Mobile network and make sure that data Services is defined on it.  Try this and report with your results.  If all else fails, remove the battery while your phone is on and then replace it.  Who has been known to fix several problems.

  I'm about to buy a Blackberry "BOLD" running on Orange UK (my first BB) I will be en route to Australia for a month, little time and I wonder if the push email constantly running is likely to run on the high costs of data.   The way it works is that you create an BIS on Oranges BIS page account on your PC browser, which is tied up your BB PIN code and this is where you can add (integrate) emial accounts. Now you can log into your BIS account and enable or disable the redirection of your BIS account and you can even turn off the data service on your device.

  Unfortunately without the BlackBerry Internet Service (BIS), you will not be able to use the Facebook for BlackBerry app, or any other application requiring BIS, on your device.  Your only method to access Facebook on your BlackBerry, if you use only wifi is to access the Facebook mobile site at m.facebook.com.

  Sorry, the news is not positive, but at least you can use the WAP browser to view the mobile site.

• BlackBerry Smartphones (App) not available for download from Blackberry App World

  I use a Blackberry Bold 9000 (personal use) on Bell Mobility.  The operating system is v5.0.0.681 (1137 Bundle, platform 5.2.0.64) and I'm in v2.0.1.12 App World.

  My App World worked well until I have asked me to set up my Blackberry ID.  Since then, App World is basically useless.  My main questions are:

  1. Whenever I try to connect on App World, I am taken to the additive screen of Blackberry App World membership.  I accept the conditions each time, but nothing is recorded, and I have to go through the same process the next time I log on.
  2. When I try to download updates to existing applications, I get the dreaded "...". not available for download on Blackberry App World. »
  3. When I try to download new applications (IE TSN Mobile), I get the same "... not available for download from Blackberry App World."

  After a very long session with Bell Mobility and RIM Technical Support staff, I was able to solve the problem I was experiencing.

  I initially created my Blackberry ID using my mobile device (9000 "BOLD").  Apparently, the program installation but unfinished and recorded properly and that was the root cause of all problems.  When I logged in Blackberry ID of my laptop, I was able to complete the installation in three steps process.  It was to download a plug-in on the Blackberry site, connect the phone to the laptop and then completing the installation program (including seizure of Paypal information, if you wish) on the laptop.

  After completing this process, I could connect the Blackberry ID on my mobile without having to go through the Blackberry App World membership additive and all my downloads have worked without error.

  IMPORTANT: the completion of recording Blackberry ID process must be carried out using Internet Explorer.  I had actually tried to do this a few days ago, but I've been using Google Chrome.  As a result, the global need App Plug In did not download properly on my laptop and I couldn't finish the rest of the installation procedure.

  I hope this helps other people who have faced this problem.
