  Well, I got success install the OS4.5 last night on my 8320 TMOB. However, I had moments of panic. As mentioned earlier, I can move on a computer, but certainly not an expert. Now that I've updated and everything seems to work very well, I have a few questions. (1) with the new OS which size media card can I go up to? (2) can someone tell me how to format the card when I get it back? (3) I lost the prompt "delete on handheld & computer" during the removal of e-mails. How can I restore it? Is it possible to restore? To let everyone know, if I can update an operating system, anyone can. Thanks to the people who gave me answers quickly last night when I was doing the upgrade.   Hello. Like many others here, I'm trying to upgrade my 8700 c OS to the latest (4.6) 4.1. I followed the given instructions and downloaded the latest version of the Desktop Manager. However, after that my device is connected, I'm not prompted to upgrade the OS, I can't find any place to be upgraded under the Application Loader. It is said that no software update is required for my device. Someone would have seen how I might be able to update my OS?

  Desktop Manager is only the tool used to install a new OS for your BlackBerry.  You must also install a bundle of BONES on your PC for Desktop Manager to load to your BB.  You can find them here:

  When you try to do the upgrade? On your computer? If so, try simply to save your phone on its own first. If it still freezes at the SMS database, do a selective save.   I heard that I can upgrade its system to be OS 4.5 and yes I checked here page software blackberry and OS 4.5 is available for Rogers 8310. But I want to clarify something important before the upgrade.

  My phone came with an OS 4.2, it was a multilingual version, but it doesn't have a Chinese language support. I need to read the emails in Chinses all the time. Luckily I found an OS 4.2 Chinese version to the download page for Rogers 8310 on blackberry software, and I installed it on my phone. It works perfectly.

  But for the 4.5 OS, there is only one version available for rogers 8310 blackberry Web multilingual. I called Rogers, technical support, they told me that this OS 4.5 lack of Chinese language.

  However, there is a 4.5 OS on the blackberry software download page, Chinese language version available, but for the society of Hong Kong CSL. My question is, if I install this Chinese version of Hong Kong CSL, after installation, will my landline (phone call, emails...) work with Rogers services?

  You can use the software to another provider. As long as it is specific to the device.

  Once you have downloaded and installed the OS on your PC device,

  delete the vendor.xml file. The file is installed in the following directory.

  Problem: I tried to upgrade the software of the device to 4.5 and now THE DEVICE WILL NOT RESTART at ALL. Not with a hard reset. Not using the SIM card and the battery of my 8310 and put in his.   Yesterday I was prompted to upgrade my BBerry (Curve 8330) software and I did. Now, I run v4.5.0.138.

  I have four parameters separated on my BBerry, Hotmail 2 and 2 Gmail accounts email accounts.

  Before the upgrade, I could "synchronize items in the mailbox of [these] [are] and my camera deleted"-I had this option to 'Yes' for each of my mailboxes in the General settings for each. Whenever I chose to delete an e-mail message from my BBerry, I was invited to remove the only device or remove it from the device and the server. It was great! Often, I want to delete my BBerry and the server. It really helped me keep my Inbox clean e-mail.

  After the upgrade, I don't have this feature. Hotmail accounts have even this option available in the General settings. Gmail accounts have this setting, I put 'Yes', but I'm not invited when I delete the messages, and the messages will not be deleted on the server.

  Anyone has any ideas on this subject?

  The settings you are looking for are in the Mail folder. Press the menu/blackberry button > Options. In the Options go to the reconciliation of the enamel. You must configure each email from there. Change "Message Services" to the email that you want to configure, and then under it, change the "remove the ' to 'ask '. Press ESC and save.

  3. open the Desktop Manager and do a full backup of your current device.

  4 delete the vendor.xml file located in c:\program files\common research in motion\apploader

  5. plug in the BB and open the Desktop Manager

  I use the blackberry curve 8520... I have used it for almost a year already. I noticed, there are few things missing and some problems occurred when I upgraded to version 5. For example. Notebook, no column as an option for alarm signals, my BB get slower while browsing, whenever I try to connect to WiFi, it will be intermittent or not connected.

  Impossible to connect to the wifi, I suspected it's browser, but then I updated this default setting is always the same.

  No, the OSs are not carrier specific once you remove the file "vendor.xml" as indicated in the instructions.

  Your upgrade must regularly backup the current device and charge to save all your messages, data, settings, etc.. Likwise on third party applications, except that if you have any app purchased, be sure to write key registration or prior license codes.

  And, just for the future, it is wise to post in the same thread rather than start a new one.
