BlackBerry Smartphones Pease take a look...

Hi all

Good day to all.

I have my BB Pearl 8130 and service provider is Airtel in India. I agree to data provided by airtel for Blackberry Plan.

Now, I m able to navigate through Blackberry Internet browser. I can open any website. Now I install my own application (IE third party) on my Pearl through which I'm trying to send messages through GPRS to a specified link. It will give an IOException 'Open Tunnel failure'.

Now, to same BB Pearl, I put different SIM of Airtel, which is normal GPRS active and of course I m unable to browse the internet because BB data Plan is not active in this SIM.      But... now messages are sent successfully through my Application using the GPRS...?  without 'open tunnel failure "?

Why is if...

Please someone tell the answer.

Waiting for response...

Thank you

Thakur

Anyone please respond...

I m waiting for your kind answers...

  • Emails from blackBerry Smartphones now take several hours to reach handset BB: dept IT don't believe me!

Have a BB 8310 on a British provider (O2).  It's a working BB so everything is done by the IT Department and the company's server.  The first weeks it worked fine.  Last week, I noticed that I wasn't getting emails. As I was on vacation, I wasn't too worried, but then I realized that I had not received emails for a day or two.  Check on my laptop, I had received a lot of emails in the intermediate days.  The BB just seemed to be stopped automatically reconclining with my Outlook.

Switch the phone on, turn off, forcing him to reconcile or remove an email on my BB seems to force to reconcile and will solve the problem temporarily.  The handset will behave so for an hour or two and then seems to go back to sleep.  It takes hours for an email coming through the handset and it's just bcause (I think) I went in a place with little or no service and when it detects a signal once again, he is reconciled with Outlook.

Back the BB to my local IT Department.  They went on and outside telephone, sent a test email (which happens quickly) and told me it was fixed (haven't tried to tell them that it is only a temporary fix). After persuading, they kept their hands on the BB for a few hours and sent emails from test etc which have all failed to pass through. Advisable to take for our largest IT Department.

Went through the same thing with them, but they do not see a problem (Yes, they he turns on and turns off again and of course the test e-mail came through). Would not quite believe me when I told them what was going on.  It's my second BB so I'm confident enough to use it etc so I can't imagine!

Any ideas of what to do or what to say the IT Department to do?

    Thank you.

    Steven

Thanks for the email.  Tried your suggestion, but nothing helped.  I had to restore the CMIME file.  I will send it to the IT Department once more!

    Thanks again.

  • Programs for blackBerry Smartphones adding takes 30 minutes!

Hi, I have installed blackberry 9000 OS and then the Manager of funds and Add/Remove programs. I selected the files I need to keep and that I need to add. The problem is that the procedure lasts 30 minutes and I have 100 pieces to Flash with only 2 computers. Can someone tell me please how to do this quick procedure?

    Thank you

Using Loader.exe (and not Desktop Manager) you can upgrade/flash as many devices at the same time as you have USB ports to connect to.

Between Monday and Tuesday of this week, I put 60 devices to OS 4.5 with 2 PC.  Each PC has 2 available USB ports, so I would just start Loader.exe, get an upgrade goes, then connect the 2nd device, start another instance of loader.exe and upgrade this device.

I learned about this process here: http://www.port3101.org/power-users/182-updating-os-multiple-devices-adding-3rd-party-app-install.ht...

Hello and welcome to the community!

The easiest way is, on a PC (you can not do on MAC):

    (1) make sure that you have a current backup and your BB complete... you can find the instructions at the link in my auto-sig below.

    2) uninstall all the BB OS packages from your PC,

    (3) make sure you have the BB Desktop Software already installed

    (4) download and install on your computer, the BB OS package you want:

    • If all you want are the levels of BONE, it is first sorted by carrier - the carrier supports, your search will be fast. However, some carriers are much slower than others to release updates. To really get the package up-to-date OS for your BB, you need to dig through and find all businesses that support your specific model BB and then compare the BONE levels they support.

    5) remove all copies of the SELLER on your PC. XML... There will be at least one and maybe 2, and they will be located in the same way or to (it changes based on your version of Windows) these files:

    • C:\Program Files (x 86) \Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader
    • C:\Users\(your Windows username) \AppData\Roaming\Research In Motion\BlackBerry\Loader XML

6 (a) to change your level of BB OS installed (at level or lower), you can run the Desktop software and connect your BB... the software should offer the operating system package you have installed on your PC.

6 (b) or, for recharging your BB OS level installed as well to change, work around the Desktop software and use the CHARGER. EXE directly, through step 2 in this process:

If, during the process of 6a or 6 b, your BB has an error '507', simply unplug the USB of the BB cord and reinsert it. do nothing else... This should allow the installation to continue.

You can also study the use of BBSAK (bbsak.org) to perform the wipe what he is capable.

You can also try the "skeleton OS Reload procedure" in an attempt to circumscribe the precise causal element:

    1. Load your OS "bare bones"... If everything is optional, do not install it.
    2. If the behavior is immediately, then try another OS with step 1
    3. If the behavior does not immediately, then run for as long as necessary to make you to be sure that the behavior will not occur.
    4. Add one more thing - no matter how tempting, one.
    5. If the behavior does not immediately present, and then runs for long enough to be sure he won't have the same problem
    6. Repeat steps 4 and 5 until all things are responsible or the behavior presents

When the behavior shows up, you know the culprit... the last thing you have loaded.

If the behavior doesn't re-present, then you know that step 1 or 2 cured it.

If the behavior has anything, then you have probably a problem of material level for which no amount of OS or software can heal.

You can also use these tricks - if suggest a website, please rather replaced by 6a or 6b above:

If you are on a MAC, you are limited to only your sanctioned carriers OS packages... but can still use any level they currently have to sanction. See this procedure:

  • BlackBerry Smartphones looking for backup file BlackBerry IPD Category Descriptions

    Hello world

For the life of me. I can't seem to find the list of category descriptions listed in a *. IPD backup file.

What I basically want to do, is to isolate the sound patterns (alerts) and * NOT * have the backup file wipe out the original default patterns that are loaded with a clean installation of the BlackBerry Device Software.  Also, that the list description would come very handy for future restorations!

Thanks in advance to anyone who can point me in the right direction.

    Thank you!

Hi and welcome to the Forums!

Hmmm... Category descriptions... I'm not quite positive which is... maybe it's databases? If so, here's a knockout that lists those:

    • KB03974 List of all databases on the BlackBerry smartphone

I'm guessing that your tent a selective restore of certain databases rather than restore complete. What happens, however, is the replacement of the complete database indeed... regardless of the database that is located on the device is is replaced by what is in the IPD file. For some databases, there are tricks to merge the data that can be undertaken - for most messages, calendar, contacts and tasks... 'the organizer' standard databases, but I don't know the method to merge the databases of configuration (as well as alert profiles).

    Good luck!

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Blackberry to take apart and put back together.

No, I don't mean remove the physical device.

My company (finally) made me a Blackberry (Bold 9650) so I could learn to do things like it backup, restore and so immediately and (better) to provide technical support for others.

So, I would like to know:

    1. how to back up my Blackberry?

I have e-mails, contacts and appointments calendar and your Internet favorites.

Would I need (as I believe...) to connect the device to a computer via a USB cable and somehow save these items on the computer?

Is it a synchronization for this software?

    2 restoration

I guess I want to reverse the process above.

    3 secure wipe

Some time ago, in another section, I was told that it would probably be necessary, if a Blackberry into a movement of one BES/BPS server to another, to wipe the device and then turn it back on.

Wipe the unit would, I guess, delete the personal data, hence the master back to the top and restore operations.

What a wipe erases exactly (and what don't we not delete)?

    4. What is (re) activation after a wipe?

Wiping the Blackberry does include eliminating the activation information (I guess for that), it seems that I have to reactivate with my ISP (Verizon, in my case), correct?

Now, I won't do this 3 times a week, every week, but can I reactivate my Blackberry as I want? I just call Verizon like I did at the beginning?

    Hello

Hmmm... I'm not sure on the migration of one BES to the other, but I know that a WIPE has no effect on the it policy. I don't know if the migration to an another BES replaces the policy of IT or not. Nevertheless:

Reactivation as with the carrier. For the Association, is a lack of prejudice no-fault to reactivate with them. Simply dial * 228 and select Option 1 (then again and select Option 2). You don't really have to call and talk to them because your BB is fully registered on their network the first time you activate... on CDMA networks, there is much more "hardcoded" into the network (where the greatest difficulty taking CDMA devices and use them on another CDMA network).

    I hope this helps!

  • BlackBerry smartphone Curve 9360 sometimes warms us up a little bit and the battery is discharged

Hi, my blackberry 9360 is sometimes a really weird thing. Once a week, after that I used the device to check email, check facebook or even simply by removing the door in leather and put it right back it drains the battery at a very fast pace and hotter than usual. I'm not aware immediately, but when I use the unit 3 hours later for example the battery is almost all gone and the unit is warmer than usual. Please not that it is warmer, but at a level acceptable, just as if it had been used during this period of time, not overheating. I charge the unit and check the activity monitor application and the CPU was mainly used by the... Idle CPU. The part of the device that heats is not the battery, but the device itself. It is rather annoying because I don't know when it will happen again. The only email account, I have installed is a Hotmail account and it goes as well with wifi on and outside. Someone has an idea it might be? Thank you in advace for help. Best regards, Alexander

    Hello alexandrejv

Welcome to the Forums of the BlackBerry Support

Are sure you you are in an area where you have a good network coverage signal strength or if falls frequently.

While our BlackBerry devices can feel hot tell a long browsing session, play games, download countinous or all supported. If we hold the Menu for a few seconds, it will open a screen that will display all the programs running in the background, usually five will always be there (host, BBM, Message, phone, browser) you can always check if any other applications. run in the background.

We should always try to close Applications correctly - avoid using key end to close the applications because it just minimizes the application and let it run in the background. Instead, press the Menu key, select close or Exit to exit the application. Don't let your browser open when not in use. If programs are running in the background, it will also allow overheating and also to quick battery drainage. Please take a look at those Article I don't know that it will help you overcome your problems:

But, if you feel that this device heats up more then average, then you should visit your service provider for assistance.

OK thanks... you came very close to what I need... except just saying 'mistake' in regard to music downloads... but, any...

I suggest the following, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2, each should result in a message to your BB to come...) Please wait for this before moving on to the next step):

    (1) registry HRT

    • KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with wireless network
    • Please wait a 'registration' message reach your Messages application

    (2) remove and return Service directories

    • KB05000 Remove the maintenance book for the BlackBerry Internet Service email account in the BlackBerry smartphone
    • If you do not have access CMIME, continue deleting
    • KB02830 Send the directories for the BlackBerry Internet Service
    • Please wait "the Activation' Messages, one per already configured e-mail account, arrive in your Messages. If you have not already configured email accounts, please wait 1 hour.

    (3) restart to take batt

    • Each time a random strange behavior or slow creeps, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the hood back and remove the battery. Wait a minute, then replace the battery and cover. Power on and wait patiently through the long reboot - about 5 minutes. See if things return to functioning. Like all computing devices, BB suffers from memory leaks and others... with a hard reboot is the best remedy.

I hope that will move things again for you! If this isn't the case, then you need to get in touch with your service provider and insist that they honor the formal support that they are contractually required to provide you with. Do not let you fob before having 100% solved the situation. If they tell you to contact RIM, don't let them not on the hook, then either... insist that they tell you exactly how you should contact RIM. If they say anything OTHER that they will increase you rim (for example, if they tell you to independently seek the support of the RIM), and then accept it. Only through an escalation of your service provider can you receive all official support from RIM.

Looks like they have made significant changes to their network... and they must ensure that their paying customers will continue to receive the services that they pay.

    Good luck!
