BlackBerry Smartphones REM Extension Confusion

Ok... I'm REALLY confused now!  I got a few videos that I saved e-mail messages and MMS messages.  After recording, looks like they have a .rem suffix after a 3pg the file name extension.  I can visualize find on the storm, but when transferred to my PC, they can not be opened.  No problem at all with pictures.  I tried emailing videos to myself, but each 'send' could not... HELP Please!  TNX!  Michael

BTW, I tried to rename without result!

On your BB device, you must go to Options > Media Card (or Options > memory, depending on the operating system on your BB).

Watch the encryption Mode and change it to ZERO.

Which will remove the encryption on your card media that you previously enabled and just forgot.

  • New icons of blackBerry Smartphones, I'm confused

OK guys, I'm really stupid phone... lol, I have a few new icons coming. One is a circle with a t in the middle with semicircles and its under my side of wifi and the other is new 1XEV for I never saw. Help please a girl...

Here is a list of the icons on a BlackBerry screen.  If you get anything other than these, they are probably associated with third-party apps or network.

  • .Rem blackBerry Smartphones extensions added to video files

My company digit my card micro sd on my 8830.  I transfer a movie to the 8830 through the Manager of media successfully. When I go to the 8830 movies list, it will show that the file name contains an addition, but under Properties displays the name of the movie with an additional .rem extension and will not play.  My security will not allow the card to be seen as a hard drive, so the only way I can transfer files successfully, is to manually remove the card and transfer via USB.  Is there another way to get around this?

    Thank you!

    Hello

If you go into options/card, the encryption mode is probably on a security setting.

If the media are encrypted and .rem extensions. Your company probably has a COMPUTER policy

  • Confused BlackBerry Smartphones with Blackberry Storm Desktop Manager

The Roxio program platform is really confusing me. I'm used to a Palm application and can't quite get the hang of this thing.

My biggest problem is that I can't find a way to use my computer to add contacts instead of on the phone. This program is an application where you can use the laptop to add information and new contacts and then synchronize with the phone?

I figured out how to add video (although its easier by using the mass media and simply drag / drop), add pictures and Itunes sync but contacts seem to be non-existent.

    As always, thanks in advance!

the Palm is 'Connector PC' + 'PIM' (personal information manager)
the RIM is just "PC connector.

In addition to the Desktop Manager, you must use a PIM on your desktop. Best solutions are Microsoft Outlook or IBM Lotus Notes. Both allow you to edit your contacts on your PC and then synchronize with your BlackBerry smartphone.

or you can use GoogleMail contacts, with real-time wireless synchronization. This solution does not require a PC.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones quite confused newbie with (iMac) & Blackberry Curve 8530 ordered

I thought I posted this before but can't ind station. Maybe I'm in the wrong bench?

Need to synchronize information on BB Curve 8530 with my iMac, Mobile me up and use to sync iPod Touch - questions are:

1 can I disable MM before you install Blackberry software for Mac (Snow Leopard)?  I need to be able to sync contacts/address book, iCal with the new phone and am afraid of conflicts so I don't "disable Mobile Me.

2 have you also looked at Mark/Space software to sync Curve 8530 - it might be a better program to sync with iMac - someone uses this or do you use the Balckberry software?

    3. do I have on the right forum for these questions I changed my subscription and I am in the right but not sure, so pls be kind enough to redirect me...

    thx for your patience.

    Hello, petunia

Before you install the BlackBerry Desktop Software I would recommend support to the top of your address book and iCal on your Mac. Do this please open your address book, and then select the file (in the top menu) > export > Address Book Archive, and then click Save and placed on the desktop. Let then open iCal and select file > export > iCal Archive and click Save to place them on the desktop as well.

You are now ready to install the BlackBerry Desktop Manager on your Mac. You don't need to disable mobile me to do this. After installation, restart your Mac and open the app to BlackBerry Desktop manager (it will be located in your main applications on the Mac folder). Follow the on-screen instructions to connect your smart phone BlackBerry for Mac.

After the device is recognized and connected, you will have to configure synchronization settings. To do it please click on the items you want to synchronize under information and then select two way to sync with the calendar to sync or Sync Contacts(In the middle of the page). Once this operation is complete, you can go ahead and click the sync button located on the top right to start the synchronization process. During synchronization it will alert you that it's your first synchronization and it is recommended to replace the data on the BlackBerry smartphone. Please select this option to overwrite the data so that all the information of iMac you will be synchronized on your BlackBerry Smartphone.

Once it is complete, you can eject your BlackBerry Smartphone by pressing the key of eject located in the lower right of the program.

Thank you and you defenatly in the right place!

  • BlackBerry smartphones built by error media

Hai, I am from Indonesia (I don't know if this help), I use 9810, a week ago I received a message 'built by mistake of the media' and asked if I want to fix, so I clicked on the button repair, and it worked, the integrated media has been recovered. But still, my bb has been frozen (the screen is frozen) so I removed the battery, and then I get the new message built by mistake of the media, so I clicked on the button repair, but this time I got a message that my integrated media required to put in shape. So I did the action of formatting, I lost my photos, my ringtones, etc, but even once, it went well. Until today, my 9810 got a little still frozen so I removed the battery and got the built in media error message again? Now I'm confused, I thought that the action of formatting solved my previous problem, but he'll be back once again? Can someone tell me what is happening? What should I do if the problem persists? I don't want to lose my photos, music etc all the time, can anyone help? Thank you before.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones-box E-mail icon does not appear, but e-mail account is configured in fact

I have a problem with the icon on a Bold 9790 email box. This is the icon of the envelope with the blue turning the planet.

I have two email accounts configured in the Options-> e-mail accounts.

However, only one is displayed on the screen.

Who does not have the envelope-and-planet icon can receive messages in the global Messages menu, but it's confusing, because this mailbox emails mingle with calls, BBM and electronic messages in the Inbox mailbox on the other.

    How can I solve this?

    Thanks in advance,

  • Deleted mailbox of blackBerry Smartphones that appear in the messages folder

I have a Bold 9900. I deleted my boxes to the letters but its always appearing in the Messages folder. Its so annoying can someone please help :-(

Still confused, because I do not see you. By "record", I assume you mean the separate E-mail icon that was created when you went ahead and created the email account this time again? When it works correctly, you have really no duplicates - instead, you have the same email showing in two different places... one 'mirror' of the other, in a sense.

But in fact should not do, however, so I'll notify then what do you is of (please, this time, to do this and nothing more!):

    1. Remove all THE email accounts of this device
    2. Perform a battery pull reboot
    3. Drive again the steps of the post 4 above (this time, however, please tell me that "done you these steps"... Please confirm each step translates exactly as I indicated above)
    4. Delete your database of Messages (note that this will delete probably all messages, including SMS history... you have to be careful because you realize this)

  • How to add Turkish language on my Bold 9900 blackBerry smartphones?

    Hello!

    I have a little problem.

On my phone, I don't have French, English and Arabic.

In my old blackberry, I had more than 10 languages, and I don't know what the problem with this one.

How can I add Turkish language?

    Thank you.

Ahhh... OK... This is the BB OS package you want to download, not the Ko (as you say). OK... Sorry I'm confused here.

The easiest way is, on a PC (you can not do on MAC):

    1) uninstall all the BB OS packages from your PC,

    (2) make sure you have the BB Desktop Software already installed

    (3) download and install to your PC, the BB OS package you want:

    4) remove, on your PC, all copies of the SELLER. XML... There will be at least one and maybe 2, and they will be located in the same way or to (it changes based on your version of Windows) these files:

    • C:\Program Files (x 86) \Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader
    • C:\Users\(your Windows username) \AppData\Roaming\Research In Motion\BlackBerry\Loader XML

    (5) run the Desktop software and connect your BB... the software should offer the operating system package you have installed on your PC. If, during the process, your BB votre BB a '507' error, simply unplug the power cord of the BB USB and reinsert it. do nothing else... This should allow the installation to continue.

    Do not forget to save.

You may also use these tips:

If you are on a MAC, you are limited to only your sanctioned carriers OS packages... but can still use any level they currently have to sanction. See this procedure:

Age of your device is not relevant. If your usage patterns consume a lot of resources, it's the situation. But I have no way of knowing what your habits are, so I can't guide you. Basically, however, you will need to find out what is 'normal' for your usage patterns and then only worry when things diverge significantly from that. If it means charge 3 times a day due to a very intense use, that's what it means.

    • KB14320 How to maximize space and power battery life on the BlackBerry smartphone
    • KB14213 Call logs, SMS text and email messages are deleted from the BlackBerry smartphone

It is always important to correctly close applications when you are finished with them. Using the back or on the red button won't do that - those leave the app to decide what to do... and some let themselves memory-resident, consumes resources on your BB, slowing down the overall performance. On the contrary, to close an application, tap on and select 'Close' or 'Quit'... which force the application to be closed, freeing resources for your new use it consumed. Some applications will always be running (in general - BBMessenger, browser, homescreen, phone and Messages)... but, you should always close them properly - especially the browser... If we leave on a web page, it will not consume only additional resources, but the power of the battery as well.

In addition, each time a random strange behavior or slow creeps, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the hood back and remove the battery. Wait a minute, then replace the battery and cover. Power on and wait patiently through the long reboot - about 5 minutes. See if things return to functioning. Like all computing devices, BB suffers from memory leaks and others... with a hard reboot is the best remedy. Some have taken to do this on a regular basis as a preventive measure... some as often as once a day. Others got the app QuickPull to automate a simulated Batt Pull.

  • Loading stuck to blackBerry Smartphones

    Hello

(Similar to a previous post problem: stuck on the update)

I have a Bold 9700 a little over 2 years now.  I downloaded the Blackberry Desktop software on the RIM site so that I could update my phone OS 5 to 6 of the OS. What I've read here OS6 is not a good idea for the Bold 9700 as I found it.

So here's the problem, I updated the operating system via the Blackberry Desktop Softwqare and everything was fine until the whole 5 minutes later the phone froze and since then not able to get it running. I think there somethnig to see with an App (iTookThisOnMyPhone) that is causing the problem. The phone turns on eventually (after several battery grips and 1 hour wait), but I can't go to the menu as the clock appears on the screen.

I think to repair (given by Blackberry Desktop Software solution) is however kind I can keep the data on the phone? Should there be a backup of file when I have updated OS5 to OS6?

    Thanks for any help

    Hello

    A few thoughts for you...

    (Credit JSanders)

There are two methods for recovering for you to try:

    One:

    • Open Blackberry Desktop Software & connect your device with the PC using the USB cable, without inserting the battery.
    • You have three Retry option, update or cancel, and then click Update.
    • Once it is at the stage of the "initialization of pocket" update, then insert the batteries.
    • If this does not work, and you get stuck on the safeguarding of social data feeds, go to the second method below.

    Second:

    • Start your BlackBerry in safe mode.  Article ID: KB17877 how to start a mode BlackBerry smartphone without failurehttp://www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB17877
    • Connect to the BlackBerry Desktop Software and allow handheld to connect. If you are prompted to update, cancel the upgrade for later.
    • IF you can not connect or your desktop software does not recognize your device in Mode safe, please follow the instructions here to force detection: Article ID: KB10144 how to force detect the BlackBerry smartphone using the Application Loader
    • Go to device > delete > SELECT DATA > select this option to remove the Social flow and smart card data bases and follow the rest invites you to complete.
    • Now, you can go back and click to update the device through the Desktop Manager, or restart the BlackBerry in normal mode and continue on the upgrade of the air.

FYI... in response to your earlier question, yes it must be a backup file on your PC to all your data. If you have taken a backup manually, it will be everywhere where you placed it. In addition, when you perform an update via the PC, the software offers to take a backup - as long as you do not defeat this offer, then there will be a backup file on your PC. The desktop software should have the location for the backup files stored... Look at this configuration in the desktop software. Also, search your entire hard drive for files with the extension IPD or BBB (it depends on the version of the desktop software you are using). The results will tell you what you have available, with naturally those with the most recent date/time stamps being the more logical choice for you.

For a stable start to the BB, you can also try Safe Mode:

    • KB17877 How to start a smartphone BlackBerry in Mode safe

It will take several attempts to get the combination of keys ESC (press/release/hold) OK, so be patient.

For the drastic recovery, here are a few things:
