BlackBerry smartphones reset owner information

SB. can help me: I'll try to reset my name, which is shown iwhen my bb is from ore in standby mode. where that canI?

Anna, I answered your question on the place where to enter owner information. That is right.

You will NOT get a LOCK screen to display this information to the owner until you set a password to LOCK the device, and then, also, you will see a PADLOCK icon on the screen.

Put the unit in standby mode is not lock or view owner information.

Sorry if you if you were confused on what you expected to see on the screen.

Hi @Ark! Welcome to the community of BlackBerry Support Forums!

I think you mean security wipe. A security wipe will delete all your data and applications on your device.

    1. On the BlackBerry smartphone home screen, click Options > Security Options >General settings.
    2. Press the Menu key, then select Wipe Handheld .
    3. Select the include third-party applications check box to remove third-party applications. Clear the checkbox to keep third-party applications.
    4. Click continue.
    5. Type of blackberry, and press the enter key.

    See you soon!

  • For the blackBerry Smartphones Reset network settings

    Thank you very much

N.. completely different. For your mobile network, with a strong network carrier (for example, not only WiFi), I suggest the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2, each should result in a message from your BB... Please wait just before moving on to the next step):

    1) register HRT

    • KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with wireless network
    • Please wait a 'registration' message reach your Messages application

    2) Remove and return Service books

    • KB05000 Remove the maintenance book for the BlackBerry Internet Service email account in the BlackBerry smartphone
    • If you do not have access CMIME, continue deleting
    • KB02830 Send the directories for the BlackBerry Internet Service
    • Please wait "the Activation' Messages, one per already configured e-mail account, arrive in your Messages. If you have not already configured email accounts, please wait 1 hour.

    3) restart

    • With power ON, remove the hood back and remove the battery. Wait a minute, then replace the battery and cover. Power on and wait patiently through the long reboot - about 5 minutes.
    • See if things return to functioning. Like all computing devices, BB suffers from memory leaks and others... with a hard reboot is the best remedy.

I hope that will move things again for you! If not, then you should try remove and re-add your configurations for the relevant accounts. Otherwise, you should contact your mobile provider for formal support.

For the wireless, there is no sort directly 'reset' nothing beyond removing and reconfiguring of the WiFi network configurations. Beyond that, things as device WIPE, reloading the OS, and other very drastic measures would be required. And, important to note, I have no way of knowing if this is really necessary... you did not no matter what description of what happens, so it is not possible to understand your situation and you give more targeted recommendations.

    Good luck!

  • BlackBerry Smartphones reset to default values

I would like to reset all the settings of 8900 for default values. How could I make it save my contacts?

    1. make a backup of your device using Desktop Manager > backup. This creates a backup file to restore this device later or another BlackBerry.

2 reset: read this article from RIM's Knowledge Base to reset your device to factory settings.
KB18998 How to reset a factory default BlackBerry smartphone

If you get rid of the unit completely (which is a not state you), do a wipe > Options > Security > General settings > Menu key > wipe Handheld.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones reset to the factory settings

Hi, I am very new to the world of blackberry and have a few questions that I hope someone can help me with. First of all, I bought a new blackberry on ebay and I would like to know if there is a way to reset my blackberry so I can start over without the previous owners on this topic information.

Also, I get a message in my message box and also my mailbox every time I receive by email, I want to keep them separate, is it possible to do, I would just receive text messages in my message box and an email in my email box. I hope I explained this right.

Thank you very much, I love this place, it has so much information. Thanks to whoever started it. Shellster

You need to back up only the information that you entered in the device memory.

For example, your address book (contacts).

Below there are links that show you the steps for the backup. Each link points to a screenshot.

(Backup and Restore) selected in Blackberry Desktop Manager

    Window [backup and Restore]

    Selective backup

Selective backup shows the following selected data to save:

    1. Address book
    2. Address book options
    3. Calendar
    4. Calendar options
    5. Memos
    6. SMS messages

If you want to save another information - right, select it in the list on the right and click on the "Left arrow" button on the window of dialogue, to transfer the list item selected in the list on the left.

When you click on 'Close' button the Blackberry Desktop Manager offers to save the *.ipd file to a specific location.

This file contains all the data.

If you have any questions - feel free to ask.

  • Internet service blackBerry Smartphones Reseting account

Hi, I'm pretty, I use the blackberry curve 8900. Bought this phone almost new (used for two weeks). I used it for about 3 months and cannot access blackberry internet service. The reason is that the previous owner has already opened an account and I don't have the user name and password. Is there a way to reset the said account, so I can create mines?

Failure to mention that I'm not able to reach the previous owner.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones obtaining personal information to display on the screen during "Standby".

I just got a new Blackberry Curve 8900 in Exchange for one who broke up with the trackball fault mentioned here a couple of weeks.

They couldn't fix it in the allocated time so they sent me a new.  It's very nice, but the software has changed a bit - although I have restored all my settings and data from the backup I did on the Desktop Manager.

What I find with this new, is that when you put it to SLEEP (using the button at the top left) personal information that I programmed in the phone IE name, address and home phone number and mobile number, does not appear on the screen as it on the old phone.  All I get is a blank black screen.

Hours of searching has doomed to failure to find any sort of swtiching 'on' and I can conclude that maybe in this newer version of the same model, they have stopped making this display.

The Version of this new phone is.

    V5.0.0.681 (Platform 5.2.0.67)

    Version 1.0.125.533B of brand

Anyone know if they shot this facility from the phone or if I did not put something correctly?

    Thank you.

    Hello Plado,

With the 5.0, owner's information Terminal software platform is displayed only when the BlackBerry is locked with a password.

  • BlackBerry smartphones reset on blackberry storm 2

Anyone know how to reset my blackberry storm 2 its on a white screen that says device error 370

Even if you have already done this, please do again, as outlined here:

Make a simple reboot, or what some call a "hard reset" on the BlackBerry this way:

With the BlackBerry powereddevice, remove the battery for FIVE MINUTES, and then reinsert the battery to restart. A reboot in this way is prescirbed for most the gltiches and operating system errors, and you will lose any data on the device doing so.

No matter what? If it isn't...

    (1) make sure that you have Blackberry Desktop Manager installed.
    http://NA.BlackBerry.com/eng/services/desktop/
    (2) on your PC, go to start > run and copy and paste the following line exactly (i.e. with quotation marks):

    'c:\program files\common research in motion\apploader\loader.exe' /nojvm

    (3) the Application Loader Wizard will appear - click on "next".
    (4) in the ' connection: ' drop-down menu, you should see "USB - PIN: UNKNOWN". Click on the button "next".
    (5) you should see a list of applications ready to be installed for your Blackberry. Press Next and finish, and that you are well on your way to get your Blackberry to life. Just unplug and let the process finish completely.

NOTE: If you do not display the list of applications mentioned in step 5 and instead to see the message "the Blackberry Desktop Software has no Blackberry Device Software for the device you have connected to the computer. Contact your wireless service provider or system administrator', then you must download the Blackberry operating system for your support and your device.
    http://www.BlackBerryFAQ.com/index.php/BlackBerry_Operating_System_Downloads
Just select the appropriate type of carrier and network, select your Blackberry model from the list and download the latest version. Install this download and follow the steps above again and you should be on the right track.

  • The Blackberry blackBerry Smartphones Reset account password

    Hello

I try to access my blackberry to App World account.  However, I can't remember my password or answer to the secret question.  is there another way to reset my password.

    Thanks in advance

It must be remembered the BlackBerryID password or secret answer to the question. Without either, you're stuck.
    Your choice is:
-Use a different e-mail account to create a new BlackBerryID (with which you will lose access to all apps purchased using the 'forgotten' first BlackBerryID, or)
-Find the initial email you have been sent to confirm the initial BlackBerryID and there are a link to click to cancel and delete the account. Click on this, delete the account and then you can use that same e-mail to create a new account.
    Good luck.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones remove personal information for recycling

How can I remove an icon called my email address that looks like an envelope with a small globe in the bottom center?  Or at least change the title of my email address?  Verizon service is no longer of this phone.

One of the KB has offered a number of options, including using the function of deletion/backup/restore of the Blackberry Desktop software application, that had not occurred to me.  It was not necessary to use these functions, because one of the menu options is to remove all the information.  This seems to have deleted any personal off the unit.  Thanks again.
