Hi @Ark! Welcome to the community of BlackBerry Support Forums!

I think you mean security wipe. A security wipe will delete all your data and applications on your device.

  1. On the BlackBerry smartphone home screen, click Options > Security Options >General settings.
  2. Press the Menu key, then select Wipe Handheld .
  3. Select the include third-party applications check box to remove third-party applications. Clear the checkbox to keep third-party applications.
  4. Click continue.
  5. Type of blackberry, and press the enter key.

See you soon!

  • For the blackBerry Smartphones Reset network settings

    Hello

I was wondering if anyone can tell me how to reset the network settings on a Blackberry Curve 8520, I can find on how to do a complete reset but not a network reset. Your would be much appreciated.

    Thank you very much

N.. completely different. For your mobile network, with a strong network carrier (for example, not only WiFi), I suggest the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2, each should result in a message from your BB... Please wait just before moving on to the next step):

    1) register HRT

    • KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with wireless network
    • Please wait a 'registration' message reach your Messages application

    2) Remove and return Service books

    • KB05000 Remove the maintenance book for the BlackBerry Internet Service email account in the BlackBerry smartphone
    • If you do not have access CMIME, continue deleting
    • KB02830 Send the directories for the BlackBerry Internet Service
    • Please wait "the Activation' Messages, one per already configured e-mail account, arrive in your Messages. If you have not already configured email accounts, please wait 1 hour.

    3) restart

    • With power ON, remove the hood back and remove the battery. Wait a minute, then replace the battery and cover. Power on and wait patiently through the long reboot - about 5 minutes.
    • See if things return to functioning. Like all computing devices, BB suffers from memory leaks and others... with a hard reboot is the best remedy.

I hope that will move things again for you! If not, then you should try remove and re-add your configurations for the relevant accounts. Otherwise, you should contact your mobile provider for formal support.

For the wireless, there is no sort directly 'reset' nothing beyond removing and reconfiguring of the WiFi network configurations. Beyond that, things as device WIPE, reloading the OS, and other very drastic measures would be required. And, important to note, I have no way of knowing if this is really necessary... you did not no matter what description of what happens, so it is not possible to understand your situation and you give more targeted recommendations.

    Good luck!

I called virgin who said that they were sorted and bbm should be resumed after 24 hours but is not. How can I fix?

    Hello ladychelle

I guess you have already BIS on both of your devices, so first of all restart your device by removing the battery while your device is turned on, wait a minute then reinsert back .after restarting check if it allows,

If the problem persists then register your handheld computer on your corporate network, for the help, see this KB:

  • BlackBerry Smartphones reset to default values

I would like to reset all the settings of 8900 for default values. How could I make it save my contacts?

    1. make a backup of your device using Desktop Manager > backup. This creates a backup file to restore this device later or another BlackBerry.

2 reset: read this article from RIM's Knowledge Base to reset your device to factory settings.

If you get rid of the unit completely (which is a not state you), do a wipe > Options > Security > General settings > Menu key > wipe Handheld.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones reset automatically (without end) - Blackberry Bold 9900

    Hello everyone,

I have a problem with my Blackberry Bold 9900.

Indeed, this morning, after that the awakening of Blackberry rang, the phone turned on and asked me my code PIN (OK), then the telephone, password, as usual.

However, my regular phone password didn't work, so he asked me to type the word "blackberry" and then my password phone again.

But the phone has not yet identified it, and so, for the last test, he told me that if the password was wrong, all my data would be deleted...

Accordingly, I tried my phone password one last time, and a white screen appeared, with a symbol of loading.

Currently, I removed my Sim Card and try to turn the phone back on, but I got the same screen.

(Actually, I did the first time, remove the SD card too and then turn on the phone, but same problem)

I really don't understand what happened, and I'm very angry about this because I didn't ask anything.

Also, I still can't use my phone now.

So, have you any idea of the past and why? How can I solve this problem?

    Thank you.

PS: Sorry if there is no error in my message, I'm not a native English speaker.

If you put in the wrong password 10 times the device will wipe all data from the user on the phone leaving the phone just as he was out of the box. Your data is gone and there is nothing you can do at this point. You must leave the loading symbol complete the deletion process. Once it's done you can set the phone again.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones New phone - BB ID works not on the phone (cannot get the email)

I just got a replacement Torch (9800) yesterday and I have everything switched from my old phone using the phone BB function office swich.

I have not received emails from any of my accounts on my new phone, so I went into the settings of e-mail accounts to update my settings. When he was asked to sign in with my BB ID, it does not recognize my ID (I get the message "the user name is not valid. A user name must be at least 4 characters).

I confirmed that my username IS valid because it works on my PC and the appworld and I checked that it is entered correctly.

Rogers technical support cannot explain the problem and they told me that they are "untrained in ID of BB because it is something"RIM"

Any suggestion would be appreciated - thanks! Nick

I solved it by reading other forums. Why my Blackberry ID not working not for my email settings is because the BB ID has nothing to do with the mail.  I had to use a different username and password for my network of carriers email settings.

As I had forgotten this information, once more, I called my provider (Rogers) and this time I got someone who knew what he was doing. He informed me of my ID and reset my password so that I can connect without problems!

    Problem solved.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones transfer phone company to the personal plan with AT & T

I start from my place of work and the allowed me to take my Blackberry "BOLD" (AT & T).  My intention is to open a family plan with AT & T and use my Blackberry "BOLD". The problem I encounter is with the configuration of the installation of Blackberry.  For example, the blocking time is set up for 2 minutes and I have to log in to be able to make a call.  I would change the time of locking and some other preferences, but it is not allowing me access and it has a locked door icon where it would happen in the Setup menu. I thought that once I transferred to a personal account that the phone would "reboot" and reset all the preferences and me be it administrative rights.  I went to an AT & T store to ask them this question and they told me that I'll never be able to change the preferences because that's the way it was installed by my company.  And even if I switch to a personal account, the phone will be always programmed / setting up in this way. It makes no sense to me.  Someone has it on this experience and could point me in the right direction. Thanks in advance for any help or thoughts!

    Hello

First of all, I'm sorry you've been given above incorrect information. (edit: Sgardne is correct - it posted before I could!)

The necxt lock icon to the password option is set by your political previpous companies.

This forces the devcie to have a password so that it cannot be read by people who 'happens' to find the BB.

If the password does not arrive, the devcie is wiped clean to the factory settings.

The exception is that this policy is not erased when the phone wiped (agaoni, there is another parameter in the IT strategy!)

Thus, the ONLY way to remove the restriction must replace the it policy.

    Two ways:

    (1) reactivate the handset with a political BLANK/NULL. Some companies will allow you to do as a matte rof, but you need to ask your BES administrator to do this specifically. Alternatively you can ask them to simlpy reset IT policy if you are always active on the BES.

    (2) the method unofficial here:political Non-official Removal of IT

    Hope that helps!

  • Internet service blackBerry Smartphones Reseting account

Hi, I'm pretty, I use the blackberry curve 8900. Bought this phone almost new (used for two weeks). I used it for about 3 months and cannot access blackberry internet service. Failure to mention that I'm not able to reach the previous owner.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones restore phone again?

I bought a Blackberry curve 8520, thinking he had a GPS function. It's not, so I decided to move to a 9300 series. I downloaded and installed a few applications have many tasks, contacts and appointments in sync with my desktop computer and don't want to lose anything.

I made a backup with the Desktop Manager. It will transfer everything to the new phone when I get it back tomorrow?

How to restore the backup old phone to the new? Should what information I write on paper that won't be available when I turn in the old phone?

I'd better take my laptop with me and follow the instructions on page 14 of the Quickstart manual bit supplied with the 8520?

    Kind regards

    TwoHoot

Hello and welcome to the forums!

I suggest that you just use the device switch Wizard in Office Manager. Connect your old phone to your PC, open DM, click the switch of the device, and follow the prompts on the screen. It will transfer everything on the new phone. He could not transfer the apps if they are not compatible (or even at all, I don't remember), but if it's apps was purchased through appworld you should be able to download again to your new phone free of charge.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones embarrassing phone!

I have a Blackberry Torch 9810 (GSM). I bought it from the RIM, Canada in February. After buying the phone, I went to the India. Right from day 1, I had problems with my phone. The 'Her' related process crashes often. music does not play, ring tones are not heard, and worse, when I dial / receive a call, I don't hear anything. The only solution for this is to pull my battery out, put back in and wait for my phone to turn on again. This not only drains my battery but also me irritated. And lately, the touch screen is not working or the other. To restart the phone, the touch screen works perfectly. As sensitive and responsive as it should be, but it is not for a long time and ends by turns off. When contacted the service center, I learned that it's a software issue. Re-installing the software for which I was charged and the problem still persists. My phone is running OS7.0 Bundle 2395. This problem really gets on my nerves.

BlackBerry has a solution for me?

Operating system device provided are "released" by specific carriers once that they are certified and trained to their support technicians, but still, you are able to load any carrier the same model by following the instructions below.

See the link below to download it and follow these simple instructions.

Make a backup of your device first, using Desktop Manager > backup. Close the office at the end Manager.

    1. download the OS files to the PC then install on the PC by running (double click) the downloaded file.

    https://swdownloads.BlackBerry.com/downloads/browseSoftware.do;JSESSIONID=A9963E16B82CEC05BFB29B971C...

    2. go in c:\program files Research in motion\apploader and delete the file named "vendor.xml."
    3. plug in the BB and double-click on "Loader.exe." It is located in the same place as the above vendor.xml file.

Note: Some users may be concerned they will void their warranty of device by loading an OS from another carrier. There is really nothing to fear. Please read more information about it here: http://www.port3101.org/power-users/296-blackberry-os-upgrade-including-betas-myths-dispelled.html
