BlackBerry Smartphones restarts = "reset"?

I downloaded 4 BB App updates earlier today, and after that each of them has been finished, the machine asked me if I wanted to restart now or more later.  Knowing that I had more to do, I said later.

So when the last of them was finished, he does not ask me if I wanted to restart.  (I assume that the software did not require it...)

So I have not yet.

But now, I want to restart.

I don't know how to restart... all I can find help in the region is an option "reset".

I want to "reset"?  Or I want to 'Reboot '?

They are the same thing?

Are they both carried out by removing the battery then put it back a few moments later?

Thanks for your help...

Dave.

Reset he would accomplish, but for me, I remove the battery and do the real thing.

Good luck.

I have no more phone support.

My old password does not work.

I want to just this device to open.

This means that you have your employers device, they have you removed from their network and forced a new password to you. You can call to ask what is the password.

BUT, probably, their intention to reset the password is for you to do a wipe of the device security so that none of the persistent employer email, data, etc., remain on this device.

After clearing security, you end up with essentially a new, fresh, device with no previous, ready to install as a personal device data.

My BOLD 9650 seems to be constantly rebooting. I'll see the clock icon running (same as on reboot) pop up randomly and the dough runs very quickly. This could be the cause and what can I do to prevent it. I'm on OS6.

  • BlackBerry smartphones restart BB Curve 8330

Just curious to know if there is a way to reboot my curve without taking out the battery or removing an application?

    Thank you.

I found the solution [Alt] [Caps] [del] to be unreliable, because sometimes it does not restart complete (I can tell because when the unit returns to the top, it is not locked), and if you have an application running that you can not leave, sometimes this key combination will do absolutely nothing!

I found the only Soft Reset solves this problem well.  Is a bit slow (I think it creates a file, open it, then asked to remove it by forcing the system to request a reboot), but you're absolutely sure that you get a full reboot without wear & tear on your battery door!

  • BlackBerry Smartphones how reset the active device in the Desktop Manager?

    Hello

I lost my old phone blackberry (Curve 8320) and replaced by a new (Bold 9700). I want to put the new phone as the active device for my manager to Desktoip. Whenever I connect the new phone, it is listed as "Device connected" but my old phone still appears as "active Instrument '. When I connect the new phone, it also gives me an option to change to the new company profile. But when I click on 'Yes' it still shows the old phone as 'active Instrument '. How can I reset this setting so that my new phone becomes the active device. I use Desktop Manager version 5.0.1 and I do not wish to move to 6 because I use the Desktop Redirector functionality in version 5.0.1 which is absent from the v6. Thank you.

    John,

So I figured out how to reset (w/o call my IT dept ). In order to reset the current device:

    1. If you use MS Exchange directly: create a new profile through control-> e-mail settings panel.

    2. If downloading emails from exchange server to local folder, and then add a new pst file and make it the default.

After making the above, restart the Desktop Manager and follow the instructions.

    Thank you.

  • Synchronization of blackBerry Smartphones will reset home screen image

Using BlackBerry Desktop Manager 4.3.0.17, BlackBerry Curve on Verizon.

If I put a picture of the home screen (wallpaper), when I synchronize with Desktop Manager, the homescreen image gets always reset the default image for the theme. No matter what topic it is - BB integrated by default or Verizon one that accompanies it - the image is always set to zero by default.

    Here's the little interesting:

    1. I put the image of the home screen to something specific to the topic.
    2. I do a sync and see the image of the home screen to reset.
    3. I go to the B theme and define the image of the homescreen to something specific.
    4. I do a sync and see the image of the home screen to reset.
    5. I return to A theme without changing anything, and the image of the specific home screen, I initially put in step 1 is back in place.

How can I stop my wallpaper to reset everytime I sync? Is there a setting I'm missing?

No sooner I haven't posted that I came with an experience that gave the answer:

Make sure you have your home screen of pictures stored on the device's memory, not on a media card If it's on the memory of the device, it will not be reset; If it's on a memory card, it resets.

  • BlackBerry smartphones loop reset of password by email

I received an email on my phone indicating that my Blackberry ID account has been locked due to too many failed attempts.  These were not the attempts that I made.  He gave me the link to reset my password.   When I get my blackberry e-mail address and captcha I received the following notice:

To receive your password reset e-mail to a different e-mail address, you need to temporarily transfer your e-mail before clicking on the submit button.

After that link (and), it tells me to go in emails to install it on my phone and enable the transfer of my mail.  I have this and click on save and I get the message that my secret question cannot be empty.  I do not know the answer to the question.  When I enter that and you save it asks me to enter my password.  I can't do as the password needs to be reset.  How to get through this last stage.  I know what was my password, but it does not work.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Help blackBerry Smartphones, after resetting my phone (due 10 password attempts failed), it will lock in T or stay unlocked to the network all the?

I forgot my password blackberry and only have one attempt left.  I read somewhere that if you enter the password more than 10 ten times then you can reuse the phone but it erases everything (which is fine by me) howevever my question is this, I unlocked my phone to all networks yesterday, my phone will lock t mobile again once it resets itself or it will remain unlocked to all networks.

Thanks in advance, im a new user of the blackberry so that you can understand my confusion.

    Hi kashipower

Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums

When we enter the wrong password longer then 10 (by default) it will wipe this device by removing all the data within the camera, if you previously had your device Unocked then no it won't lock your device to the carrier after a reset.

He will wipe away just the content within the unit.

    Hello

Well well... things are what they are...

    ipohsam wrote:

you need a plan sufficient active data to go along.if not the default blackberry browser will not recover any web page.

With the older OS levels (which, being a product of end of LIFE, is that your 9520 can have all), in fact there was a restriction on the native browser requiring the purchase of a package of sufficient data to be able to use the browser, even via WiFi. It's just the way it was. With new levels of OS (only available, naturally, for the most recent non - EOL products), this restriction has been removed, and the browser can be used with the WiFi only and no associated data plan. I wish it was different... but it's not.

BlackBerry devices in fact are very complicated... they have not really made for the occasional user who depended on things to be simple and easy. And this is especially true for older models of devices, as yours is. Unfortunately, being a former and device at the end of LIFE, there is no level of available most recent OS and therefore, none of the latest easy to use features are available for this model.

I wish that the situation was better for you, but unfortunately it isn't and is a consequence of choosing such an old and device for end of LIFE.

    Good luck!

  • BlackBerry Smartphone Soft Reset for 9850?

I guess ALT CAP DEL will not work on this phone without a QWERTY keyboard that I'm getting soon.  So is there anyway to reset the other than a battery pull?

I used the reset/reboot both fancy and QuickLaunch feature on my 9850.

As on the Storm1 and 2, I'm not a native feature of restarting the OS on the 9850.

    Good question.

can someone please help me because on my screen saying that I've updated knowing that I can not update the icon thing makes me want to throw the phone on the wall

    Thank you!!!

    fufuH wrote:

makes me want to throw the phone on the wall

Well, that might restart the device for once and for all!

Perform a simple reboot on the BlackBerry this way: with smart BlackBerry poweredphone, remove the battery for a minute and then reinsert the battery to restart. A reboot in this manner is prescribed for most defects and errors of operating system, and you will lose any data on the device doing so.

You can also press ALT + rightSHIFT + delete all three at the same time, to initiate a reboot.

You will find thousands of messages here in the forum describing how this reboot is done.

    Good luck.
