Synchronization of blackBerry Smartphones will reset home screen image

Using BlackBerry Desktop Manager 4.3.0.17, BlackBerry Curve on Verizon.

If I put a picture of the home screen (wallpaper), when I synchronize with Desktop Manager, the homescreen image gets always reset the default image for the theme. No matter what topic it is - BB integrated by default or Verizon one that accompanies it - the image is always set to zero by default.

Here's the little interesting:

  1. I put the image of the home screen to something specific to the topic.
  2. I do a sync and see the image of the home screen to reset.
  3. I go to the B theme and define the image of the homescreen to something specific.
  4. I do a sync and see the image of the home screen to reset.
  5. I return to A theme without changing anything, and the image of the specific home screen, I initially put in step 1 is back in place.

How can I stop my wallpaper to reset everytime I sync? Is there a setting I'm missing?

No sooner I haven't posted that I came with an experience that gave the answer:

Make sure you have your home screen of pictures stored on the device's memory, not on a media card If it's on the memory of the device, it will not be reset; If it's on a memory card, it resets.

Bifocals, the link you gave is actually for the Curve 8300 and not for the 9000 "BOLD".

  • BlackBerry Smartphones dial from home screen problem

When I'm on my home screen and you want to dial a number, which is not in my contacts, I have to enter the first number twice. Example: when I hit 6, he goes to the search page and lists all contacts under F, but when I continue the numbering, it fails completely 6. Therefore, why do I have to enter the first number twice.

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.   bdja

I just made a few attempts to compose my home screen, and it allows me to continue to dial the whole number. Yes, I have the search box that appears when I dial from the home screen but the right to the title of the box, it shows the numbers that i entered with a green phone icon at the end of their. I've never had the problem you describe so my suggestion to you would be to make sure you have the latest version of your operating system installed, make sure that the applications you have installed on your phone do not affect the performance of your normal phone (because some applications difference on how your phone works) and in case you haven't tried yet I do a battery pull to reboot. You can restart without a traction battery, called a soft reboot, but sometimes it is best to remove the battery. It could also have something to do with the way you have your settings on your phone. Do not forget that I have never experienced this problem so these are suggestions simply vague to try to help a user of Style companions. But I'll do some research more and see if I can find an answer more useful.

Y at - it an option to change the amount of icons that appear on your homescreen on the "BOLD" BB?  I have a row of six icons on the home screen and I would like to add another line of Favorites icons on my homescreen.

  • Image screen blackBerry Smartphones BB 9000 home resets on sync

I got the new "BOLD" (AT & T) a couple of days. In the Explorer of Windows XP, I copied a .jpg file in the folder images of BB. Then the unit set this image as an image of the home screen.

    So far so good.

But whenever I have to synchronize the device with the PC, it resets the image.

    Am I missing a step?

    Thanks in advance.

If your image is stored on the media card and mass storage mode is enabled on the card, when you are connected to the USB port, the BB device cannot access the Media Card as it does not exist as a removable drive on your PC, and you'll see the default image for its time.

Usually, when you unplug the USB key, your image stored on the card of support will return.

Hello and welcome to the community!

I recommend that you try to start safe mode:

It will take several attempts to get the combination of keys ESC (press/release/hold) OK, so be patient. When properly in Safe Mode, thinking... what happened just before this behavior started? A new application? An update? A theme? Something else? Think carefully that the slightest change can be causal... and try to undo all that was.

  • BlackBerry Blackberry Smartphones will not allow apps to connect to internet.

    Hey!

I have the 9000 "BOLD", and I have installed Whatsapp on it,

Start of my phone, I get the message: "the Whatsapp application attempted to open an external connection, which is not allowed by your policy."

I tried to change the permissions to Whatsapp, but some of them are grey (those that are grayed out are: network, Internet Server, input simulation, browser filtering and security reset of the counter)

Does anyone know how to fix this?

    Hello

So I think there is a strategy IT already enabled on your device which does not enable these features, so solve your problem first make a backup of your device using Desktop software or refer to this Article How to backup your BlackBerry

Once you have your backup follow this Knowledge Base and put it back to factory setting, it will disable or delete any policy within your device:

KB31291  :   How to reset a BlackBerry smartphone to factory using BlackBerry Desktop Software Settings

After a reset using your BlackBerry ID and for restoring your backup, choose a selective restore. Restore only your Contacts, calendar, etc. do not perform a full restore otherwise these COMPUTER strategies that you deleted can re-partner and you must perform these steps again. Do not restore any application, install a fresh copies of each world of BlackBerry.

    Try it and tell us.

  • Synchronization of blackBerry Smartphones my BB Torch 9800 with the Microsoft Outlook calendar

I am very frustrated.  My BB Torch does not synchronize with Microsoft Outlook calendar.  I get the 0x8004fd28 error message and it will transfer all the entries.  I'm not a technical person very media, so I would like easy to understand instructions on what to do.  As far as I know, my mobile device and software are updated to newer versions.  I've only been able to synchronize both times - when I first got the phone 6 months ago.  Thank you for your help.

    Welcome to the forums, melora!

First of all, we will make sure that your browser by e-mail and the calendar entries are the same e-mail that you configured in Outlook.

On your home screen, click the Options icon.  From there, go to device > Adanced configuration > default Services.  Check if those who correspond to your Outlook email address.

Then you'll want to do a clean Desktop Manager uninstall.  Make sure you restart your PC after that you did.

Then you will reinstall the Desktop Manager software, you can get here.

Once you have installed new, go here for instructions on how to configure Desktop Manager to synchronize with Outlook.  You'll want to scroll through the instructions for DM 6.0 and higher.

    I hope this helps!

  • BlackBerry smartphone password reset after the end of support

I have no more phone support.

My old password does not work.

I can't get my ID blackberry for work.

I want to just this device to open.

This means that you have your employers device, they have you removed from their network and forced a new password to you. You can call to ask what is the password.

BUT, probably, their intention to reset the password is for you to do a wipe of the device security so that none of the persistent employer email, data, etc., remain on this device.

After clearing security, you end up with essentially a new, fresh, device with no previous, ready to install as a personal device data.

    Help, please!

Ah! It's another piece of the puzzle, indeed! Anything that might be useful that we do not know yet?

In any case, I suggest the following, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2, each should result in a message to your BB to come...) Please wait for this before moving on to the next step):

    (1) registry HRT

    • KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with wireless network
    • Please wait a 'registration' message reach your Messages application

    (2) Service reference books

    • KB02830 Send the directories for the BlackBerry Internet Service
    • Please wait "the Activation' Messages, one per already configured e-mail account, arrive in your Messages. If you have not already configured email accounts, please wait 1 hour.

    (3) restart to take batt

    • Each time a random strange behavior or slow creeps, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the hood back and remove the battery. Wait a minute, then replace the battery and cover. Power on and wait patiently through the long reboot - about 5 minutes. See if things return to functioning. Like all computing devices, BB suffers from memory leaks and others... with a hard reboot is the best remedy.

I hope that will move things again for you! If not, then you should certainly talk to ATT... It is quite possible that they are not completely passed your services with a BB to another...

Hello and welcome to the community!

Yes, the device switch Wizard has two devices so that he can have an up-to-date backup. But, if you have a recent backup, then the previous BB shouldn't be necessary. See this KB:
