BlackBerry Smartphones Ringtones of old to new 9700 8100

I just got a new BlackBerry Bold 9700 and want to transfer my old BlackBerry Pearl 8100 ringtones. Ringtones have been purchased through T-Mobile.

I tried to transfer by Bluetooth. They seemed to be transferred, but could not be played by the "BOLD". Although the BlackBerry media player would open them, no sound would play and they were only about a second long instead of about 15 seconds.

I then tried to transfer with Roxio Media Manager for BlackBerry which is part of the old version of the BlackBerry Desktop Software provided with my Pearl. First, I copied my Pearl ringtones to my computer, then from my computer to my "BOLD". I got the same results as with Bluetooth.

Finally, I tried to transfer the ringtones memory from the device to the Pearl SD micro card and then put the card in the "BOLD". It works no more.

I don't know if this has something to do with ringtones. MP3.rem. the .rem isn't visible once I have transfer ringtones memory unit to micro SD memory. Encryption for my micro SD card is set to off.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

It is possiable, they could be restircted only be used on the device they have been downloaded to. The best thing I can say is that you contact the vendor of the ringtone or the original point of sale or download.

I hope this helps.

My wifes 3G curve died this weekend and she's getting her a new today. I was wonding if I can restore its contacts (address book and BBM) through the switch device Wizard in Office Manager?

If it is 'dead' as you say it and does not turn on, it'll be pretty hard using the switch device Wizard. However, this method is ideal.

Now, she a recent backup of the old device, it would have done using the Desktop software or she uses her BlackBerry Protect on his old device?

If it has a backup, it can use Desktop software > device > restore and the system should select the most recent backup, or you can perform a search to find and set it to restore it on the new device, all contacts, messages, calendar, etc.

  • BlackBerry® Smartphones email does not not on 9700

    Hello

Hoping someone can help me here.

I'm trying to fix Bold 9700 from my mother-in-law.  I know that I had this same problem with my 9700 old a few years ago, but don't remember how I fixed it.

Its BB was working fine, then emails came only sporadically.  She called Rogers, technical support and they told him to do a full restore.  After the full restoration, she has absolutely no email and when you click on the e-mail configuration in the installation section it goes absolutely nowhere... almost as if it has never been activated.

    I tried

-a reload of the operating system available (same problem)

-a return of service books (an email comes through recorded everything, but then nothing else comes through)

All the other features of the phone seem to work perfectly.  The person of Rogers told him that the problem was because the phone is old and it's broken and won't work anymore.  I do not subscribe to this belief and am sure that we can get it up and going again for her.

So can offer help here on how to fix this?

    Thanks in advance

Hello and welcome to the community!

You have tried a lot of things... Here's a little more perhaps.

You may want to consider using BBSAK (bbsak.org) to perform the wipe there is able to... sometimes a clean WIPE of this kind, followed by the reload of the operating system, can help.

You can also try this procedure might limit the specific causal element:

    1. Load your OS "bare bones"... If everything is optional, do not install it.
    2. If the behavior is immediately, then try another OS with step 1
    3. If the behavior does not immediately, then run for as long as necessary to make you to be sure that the behavior will not occur.
    4. Add one more thing - no matter how tempting, one.
    5. If the behavior does not immediately present, and then runs for long enough to be sure he won't have the same problem
    6. Repeat steps 4 and 5 until all things are responsible or the behavior presents

When the behavior shows up, you know the culprit... the last thing you have loaded.

If the behavior doesn't re-present, then you know that step 1 or 2 cured it.

If the behavior has anything, then you have probably a problem of material level for which no amount of OS or software can heal.

In addition, after each attempt reloading, I suggest the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2, each should result in a message to your BB to come...) Please wait for this before moving on to the next step):

    (1) registry HRT

    • KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with wireless network
    • Please wait a 'registration' message reach your Messages application

    (2) remove and return Service directories

    • KB05000 Remove the maintenance book for the BlackBerry Internet Service email account in the BlackBerry smartphone
    • If you do not have access CMIME, continue deleting
    • KB02830 Send the directories for the BlackBerry Internet Service
    • Please wait "the Activation' Messages, one per already configured e-mail account, arrive in your Messages. If you have not already configured email accounts, please wait 1 hour.

    (3) restart to take batt

    • Each time a random strange behavior or slow creeps, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the hood back and remove the battery. Wait a minute, then replace the battery and cover. Power on and wait patiently through the long reboot - about 5 minutes. See if things return to functioning. Like all computing devices, BB suffers from memory leaks and others... with a hard reboot is the best remedy.

Good luck and let us know!

  • BlackBerry smartphone how to install the new language? == > french

By mistake I delete all my blackBerry Bold 9900 formulations.

    Rest than English.

I would add yet another language ==> french example...

In desktop software, I don't have in Applications: "Language and support of entry" to choose...

Hello and welcome to the community!

The easiest way is, on a PC (you can not do on MAC):

    (1) make sure that you have a current backup and your BB complete... you can find the instructions at the link in my auto-sig below.

    2) uninstall all the BB OS packages from your PC,

    (3) make sure you have the BB Desktop Software already installed

    (4) download and install on your computer, the BB OS package you want:

    • If all you want are the levels of BONE, it is first sorted by carrier - the carrier supports, your search will be fast. However, some carriers are much slower than others to release updates. To really get the package up-to-date OS for your BB, you need to dig through and find all businesses that support your specific model BB and then compare the BONE levels they support.
    • Use this KB to help you choose the good alternative OS to include the language you want:
      • Article ID: KB05305 Location of support for BlackBerry smartphones

    5) remove all copies of the SELLER on your PC. XML... There will be at least one and maybe 2, and they will be located in the same way or to (it changes based on your version of Windows) these files:

    • C:\Program Files (x 86) \Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader
    • C:\Users\(your Windows username) \AppData\Roaming\Research In Motion\BlackBerry\Loader XML

6 (a) to change your level of BB OS installed (at level or lower), you can run the Desktop software and connect your BB... the software should offer the operating system package you have installed on your PC.

6 (b) or, for recharging your BB OS level installed as well to change, work around the Desktop software and use the CHARGER. EXE directly, through step 2 in this process:

If, during the process of 6a or 6 b, your BB has an error '507', simply unplug the USB of the BB cord and reinsert it. do nothing else... This should allow the installation to continue. During the process, when it presents you with the screen of the things Application Loader to install on your device, make sure to develop options and select all items that relate to your desired language.

Once the operating system is loaded, you can proceed with the activation of the language you want and restoring your backup (on the device).

If you are on a MAC, you are limited to only your sanctioned carriers OS packages... but can still use any level they currently have to sanction. See this procedure:

I bought the hands-free kit and cannot pair with phone because it is not able to find the car handsfree. I tried to pair it with the Samsung Galaxy and it wasn't any problem.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones restore backup old phone to new phone

Please correct me if I'm wrong...

I had blackberrys for ever.  About 50% of the time I got the phone because I damaged the previous.  I often have backups of any phone, but would never be able to restore the backup to the new.  Rarely, I had the chance to do the switch/phone method 'transfer '.  There must be a way to make this switch from backup?  In general all my emails and contacts were from a BES server - so not a problem.  - But the media, applications, all parameters should be set or downloaded manually again.

Please tell me I missed something that exists.

OK, it did not work for me.

Hello and welcome to the Forums of Support BlackBerry.com.

See the link below for download and simple installation instructions.

    https://www.BlackBerry.com/downloads/entry.do?code=06997F04A7DB92466A2BAA6EBC8B872D

Make a backup of your device first, using Desktop Manager > backup. Close the office at the end Manager.

    1. download the OS files to the PC then install on the PC by running (double click) the downloaded file.
    2. go in c:\program files Research in motion\apploader and delete the file named "vendor.xml."
    3. plug in the BB and double-click on "Loader.exe." It is located in the same place as the above vendor.xml file.

Remove your battery while your phone is off will do nothing to help.  You must ensure that your phone is always on when you remove your battery.

(And while you're here, please remove your e-mail address of your post.  Personal information, such as e-mail addresses, are not allowed in messages.)

    I hope that helps you.

  • Transfer data of blackBerry Smartphones in your old phone again using Desktop Manager

So I had an older curve, and now I have a brand new Curve 3 g.  The old phone is broken and I can't use the keyboard, but it remains recongizes the software when it is plugged in and I can load - that's why the data could not be transferred from my old phone to the new at the Verizon store.

So I want all contacts, my lists of things to do/pads, etc. transferred into the new phone with the help of Blackberry Manager on my PC (Vista).

"So I chose the ' device transfer Assistant" in the main menu and follow instructions - I get an error message that says, basically, I "should remove some applications on my existing device, because there is not enough space on the new device to their homes:

I don't understand this - the new phone has 256 MB of memory from 32 MB in the old phone, and I don't even have apps out there except facebook (I tried to delete my apps on the phone and he showed me as having been facebook...)

So, I tried unchecking various boxes on the screen asking me what I want to transfer and even with them all unchecked it always says there is not enough room for the transfer...

Am I doing this wrong?  I want to just my contacts and lists of tasks transferred to the new - I don't know what that thing on 'requests' and these words, but I want just that my data is transferred...

I will say that the Blackberry Manager application I have is very slow, not intuitive, and generally a huge pain in the * beep * work with - I think that a slick like Blackberry tech company would have would have a much better than this 'Blackberry Manager... "program  I am impressed with the Blackberry phones, but fear using this Blackberry Manager whenever I need to (for example when new ringtone on my phone)...

Many thanks for any help people can give me here!

You could go to www.blackberry.com and download/install the latest version. That may solve your problem.

However, have you tried simply to make a backup of the old device and restore on the new?
