BlackBerry Smartphones Smartcard - import certificates

I have BlackBerry 8900 and Smartcard reader v1 and I am trying to make them work together.

I am able to pair together, BlackBerry sees the smart card reader. I can import certificates, but after that I don't see all the new certificates on my list of certificate. The card is ok, the certificate is here - I checked on my PC

What I am doing wrong? Are there additional measures to obtain the certificates of my card? We think that the more I wonder about is that I'm also never requested on the smartcard PIN.

OK, I solved it myself.

Apparently BlackBerry requires that each certificate contains user e-mail. I tried with another card that has a certificate with information from e-mail and it worked. It is a pity however that I have received no warning/information that a certificate is wrong and buggy 'imported certificates' message mislead me that everything went very well.

  • A "Default" email for calendar blackBerry Smartphones is import from Outlook?

I have three emails saved in my BB; one is the Association. BB account, another is a GMail account, and the other is my main account I have import from my field of Network Solutions.  With the help of DTM, I can import my Outlook with the BB calendar very well, EXCEPT apparently saves the appointment with the wrong default e-mail account; It records the appointment with the GMail account, but I want to save them with my domian account.

When you synchronize with DTM, I see no option as to which e-mail account to link appointments (or even to my Contacts) to the.  I am very confused!

If there is an option in the DTM, I must be missing, so I wonder if there is a 'Default' on BB Storm2 email?

BBM contacts are not saved with Protect. However, using the same BBID, they will be restored if your previous 9790 had BBM 7 installed. Your BBID restore BBM contacts.

Hello! Have you done a hard reset?

A hard reset is similar to rebooting a computer that is not responding. A hard reset shut BlackBerry applications and restarts the BlackBerry smartphone operating system reboots the hardware components of the BlackBerry smartphone, including the wireless transmitter/receiver.

Note: A hard reset deletes all settings or the data on the BlackBerry smartphone.

To perform a hard reset, follow these steps:

    1. Turn off the BlackBerry smartphone.
    2. Remove the battery.
    3. Reinsert the battery.
    4. Wait until that smartphone BlackBerry start.

    In addition,

Confirm that all installed third-party applications are approved for the device

Make sure that all third party applications installed on the BlackBerry smartphone are approved for the device. If the problem persists, remove third-party applications to ensure that they do not affect performance.

    And don't forget,

    Optimize flash memory

You can keep the smart phone BlackBerry operating at peak performance by maximizing the available flash memory. Increase the amount of available memory on your BlackBerry smartphone by performing the following tasks:

    1. Add a memory card
    2. Remove unused languages
    3. Delete call logs
    4. Remove the sample video
    5. Empty the Cache and Cookies in the browser
    6. Delete rarely used applications

  • Sellers of understanding of blackBerry on blackberry Smartphones

    Hey

My boss gave me his old blackberry. He used proximus (Belgium). I don't think that the phone is locked (how I see this?).

He also had a problem with in the past, this has been fixed but suddenly no more Dutch language.

I searched this forum and found a software link (Desktop & Device Software Download Sites for BlackBerry users):

If you have not purchased your BlackBerry® smartphone directly from Research In Motion (RIM), please select the link to your service provider below to download the BlackBerry® Desktop Software and BlackBerry® Device Software that your service provider has authorized for use with your device.

If I understand correctly: Let's say if I'm going to buy a new company BASIC SIM card (a provider of services in Belgium), I need to install the software for this service provider.

Does this mean that if I am abroad (outside), I can't use the phone more?

I need blackberry device software to reinstall the blackberry, so the Dutch language is back.

Is there a difference between these software (sorted by country) or what's available that's different languages?

Hello and welcome to the community!

You have several misunderstandings... then this post will be a bit long... Sorry about that...

    # With the appropriate tips (below), you can use any bundle of BONES of any carrier, as long as it's your specific model BB number.

    haramo wrote:

    Completely independent.

To use your BB when out of your network home, and if you want to keep your home SIM card inserted, you must have stored with your carrier network for roaming, international data plan if that's where you are roaming to.

To use your BB on a network of different carrier with their SIM card, you must first have unlocked your BB is carrier home (see above for that).

Other (applies to both), your BB must be compatible with the carrier data network technology and frequency... If the radio inside your BB does not support the network of the carrier, then nothing will work. If it is compatible, then you should be able to receive voice-level services. But for data level BB services, must still ensure that your specific model BB number is supported by this network of carrier for AutoShip of HRT and maintenance to your BB book... If not, then you will not be able to receive data of BB services.

    haramo wrote:

Is there a difference between these software (sorted by country) or what's available that's different languages?

It's actually more and less complicated than that. Looking at all the 4 bytes of the version number of the operating system, if the two carriers have the same version, then the package is the same from the functional point of view BB. However, each company tends to "Pack" the package they release with some specific things from carrier, but none of this is really necessary... it's usually just things like icons of teaser for applications that a carrier has agreed to try to push their users. Not important.

Regarding the language, it is not simply a matter of the carrier you choose. It is rather a question of the OS package you choose, such as governed by this KB:

    • Article ID: KB05305 Location of support for BlackBerry smartphones

    haramo wrote:

I need blackberry device software to reinstall the blackberry, so the Dutch language is back.

OK, with all the foregoing of the road now, the easiest way is, on a PC (you can not do this on MAC):

    (1) make sure that you have a current backup and your BB complete... you can find the instructions at the link in my auto-sig below.

    2) uninstall all the BB OS packages from your PC,

    (3) make sure you have the BB Desktop Software already installed

    (4) download and install on your computer, the BB OS package you want:

    • If all you want are the levels of BONE, it is first sorted by carrier - the carrier supports, your search will be fast. However, some carriers are much slower than others to release updates. To really get the package up-to-date OS for your BB, you need to dig through and find all businesses that support your specific model BB and then compare the BONE levels they support.
    • Use the location KB link above as your guide to choose a package that contains the language you want.

    5) remove all copies of the SELLER on your PC. XML... There will be at least one and maybe 2, and they will be located in the same way or to (it changes based on your version of Windows) these files:

    • C:\Program Files (x 86) \Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader
    • C:\Users\(your Windows username) \AppData\Roaming\Research In Motion\BlackBerry\Loader XML

6 (a) to change your level of BB OS installed (at level or lower), you can run the Desktop software and connect your BB... the software should offer the operating system package you have installed on your PC.

6 (b) or, for recharging your BB OS level installed as well to change, work around the Desktop software and use the CHARGER. EXE directly, through step 2 in this process:

If, during the process of 6a or 6 b, your BB has an error '507', simply unplug the USB of the BB cord and reinsert it. do nothing else... This should allow the installation to continue. When installing, be sure to check deeply to all available applications to choose to settle... don't forget to dig deep into each element of multi-level and don't forget that you have selected everything that relates to your language (s) you want.

Good luck and let us know!

N.. completely different. For your mobile network, with a strong network carrier (for example, not only WiFi), I suggest the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2, each should result in a message from your BB... Please wait just before moving on to the next step):

    1) register HRT

    • KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with wireless network
    • Please wait a 'registration' message reach your Messages application

    2) Remove and return Service books

    • KB05000 Remove the maintenance book for the BlackBerry Internet Service email account in the BlackBerry smartphone
    • If you do not have access CMIME, continue deleting
    • KB02830 Send the directories for the BlackBerry Internet Service
    • Please wait "the Activation' Messages, one per already configured e-mail account, arrive in your Messages. If you have not already configured email accounts, please wait 1 hour.

    3) restart

    • With power ON, remove the hood back and remove the battery. Wait a minute, then replace the battery and cover. Power on and wait patiently through the long reboot - about 5 minutes.
    • See if things return to functioning. Like all computing devices, BB suffers from memory leaks and others... with a hard reboot is the best remedy.

I hope that will move things again for you! If not, then you should try remove and re-add your configurations for the relevant accounts. Otherwise, you should contact your mobile provider for formal support.

For the wireless, there is no sort directly 'reset' nothing beyond removing and reconfiguring of the WiFi network configurations. Beyond that, things as device WIPE, reloading the OS, and other very drastic measures would be required. And, important to note, I have no way of knowing if this is really necessary... you did not no matter what description of what happens, so it is not possible to understand your situation and you give more targeted recommendations.

    Good luck!

If Yes, then may be the unit you have purchased already has some strategies active COMPUTER that aims to prevent these applications or features. To remove all political IT from that device to first make a backup of your Contacts, etc. using BlackBerry Desktop Software.

Once you have your backup refer to this Knowledge Base and reset your device to factory setting:

Reseting your device as it will remove these COMPUTER strategies, but more importantly after a reset while restoring your backup does everything restore, perform a selective restoration which may include Contacts, notes, calendar etc. entries. If you perform a complete restoration then these strategies COMPUTER may return and you will have to repeat the whole process.

  • BlackBerry smartphones can not download applications

Hello, I recently brought the new 9320. I have the card memory base San Disk that come with the Blackberry. Also, as soon as I put the phone I downloaded Blackberry Desktop Support software. The desktop software and storage on the phone at the same time options I have a 14.4 MB remaining on the phone storage and 1.4 GB left on my memory card. When I try to download apps on the phone via my WiFi it is said that there is not enough remaining space. I guess that the phone will only attempt to download the application in the device memory. Is it possible that I can get the phone to automatically download the application directly on my memory card? Or is there another problem that prevents me download apps?

    Thank you.

Hello and welcome to the community!

There are three types of potential memory on a BB: 1) application memory, the device memory) 2 and 3) Media/SD Card Memory.

Application memory - it is the most important; It is protected (not available to the user), dedicated and (fixed size) space as the destination for the installation of applications (the BONE itself more certain applications storage, overhead and such). You can't touch AppMemory. You cannot improve the maximum AppMemory that your BB has. It is what it is. Applications can install only here... There is no other choice.

The device memory - it is space on your BB you can touch these files, images, media, etc. In general, it is not very big, but it is available.

Memory card SD/Media- is what it says... your SD card to store files, media, photos, etc.. It can be as large as your BB OS can support... see this KB:

    • KB05461 Sizes of card MicroSD taken in charge by the BlackBerry device software

On some devices/OS levels, you can see 'Free file' (Options > status), I think this is equivalent to AppMemory. You can see on other devices, all the memory usage levels three (Options > memory). Here are some tips to use:

    • KB02843 What is the function of low memory manager on the BlackBerry smartphone
    • KB14320 How to maximize space and power battery life on the BlackBerry smartphone
    • KB14213 Call logs, SMS text and email messages are deleted from the BlackBerry smartphone

Finally, it is always important to correctly close applications when you are finished with them. Using the back or on the red button won't do that - those leave the app to decide what to do... and some let themselves memory-resident, consumes resources on your BB, slowing down the overall performance. On the contrary, to close an application, tap on and select 'Close' or 'Quit'... which force the application to be closed, freeing resources for your new use it consumed. Some applications will always be running (in general - BBMessenger, browser, homescreen, phone and Messages)... but, you should always close them properly - especially the browser... If we leave on a web page, it will not consume only additional resources, but the power of the battery as well.

In addition, each time a random strange behavior or slow creeps, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the hood back and remove the battery. Wait a minute, then replace the battery and cover. Power on and wait patiently through the long reboot - about 5 minutes. See if things return to functioning. Like all computing devices, BB suffers from memory leaks and others... with a hard reboot is the best remedy. Some have taken to do this on a regular basis as a preventive measure... some as often as once a day. Others got the app QuickPull to automate a simulated Batt Pull.

Thus, issues of the app, it is a question of AppMemory... Please see the information above in order to maximize the amount of free AppMemory on your BB. If your particular model of BB has a limited amount of total AppMemory, then you must understand the mixture of 'must have' for you and then give priority to your "optional elements" in order to charge as much as you can, sacrifice these things of lower priority.

    Good luck!
