  It seems that you have sound enabled on your BlackBerry® smartphone event.  To disable this feature, go to Options > Advanced Options > accessibility and change sounds event at no.

  I also find the error message on this forum and other, and what I've found, is that any third-party application installed in your device can be responsilbe for this. Then other 3rd party app you have on your device outside the native BlackBerry application. You can try to uninstall them one by one and test until you know which application is responsible.

  Thanks for the Info. not familiar with the forums. Have since found the solution. It is a problem of blackberry, I had to set up a new profile of .pst and import all data.

• BlackBerry Smartphones unable to update BlackBerry App World on Bold 9700

  I use a BlackBerry Bold 9700 BlackBerry OS version 5.1.0.121 with BlackBerry Device Software version 5.0.0.442.

  When I click on the BlackBerry App World on my camera icon, I get the following message:

  "To continue to use BlackBerry App World, you must upgrade your current version. For more information, please visit www.blackberry.com/appworld/support. »

  So, I click on the upgrade button. My BlackBerry browser then launches automatically and tries to open the "'http://appworld.blackberry.com ' page." However, whenever I tried this, the page may not load in Black Berry browser and remains off. I tried to leave my phone for increments of 10-15 minutes to load the page, but after several attempts, I was never able to open the page successfully. I still get a blank page.

  So, I visited the next page on my desktop: http://ca.blackberry.com/apps/app-world/download.html.

  I tried the first method of sending the URL on my device, but it ended up with the same result described above when I tried to access the URL that was sent to me. The BlackBerry browser displays a blank page.

  I then tried the second method described on http://ca.blackberry.com/apps/app-world/download.html. I connected my device to my computer via a USB cable and clicked on the download, it affects today by following the instructions on the page. But, when I clicked on the button, I was led to a "Mode not available" page that says the following:

  "Downloads via a USB connection are not enabled for this product. Please visit our mobile download site using the browser of your BlackBerry® smartphone. »

  So my problem is cyclical. The page that I need to access the site to download the App World can not load in my BlackBerry browser and I can't download the product via USB either. This seems to be a bug, and I want to report it to Research In Motion.

  If anyone has any advice on how to solve this problem, it would be much appreciated.

  There is virtually no diagnosis of those - they are the equivalent of random errors in Windows for which trace the root cause is futile. Basically, here's the last out in the programming code - some event occurred for which there is no event handler in the code. The patch is an update of the code that handles the event... but, again, what is the event is almost impossible. So, there are a few things to try:

  Sometimes, the code simply is damaged and needs to be updated - just like a reboot:

  • Each time a random strange behavior or slow creeps, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the hood back and remove the battery. Wait a minute, then replace the battery and cover. Power on and wait patiently through the long reboot - about 5 minutes. See if things return to functioning. Like all computing devices, BB suffers from memory leaks and others... with a hard reboot is the best remedy.

  If it doesn't boot properly, then you need to try Safe Mode:

  The toughest possible causes are a bad application behave. To find it, there are two options. Is to see if you can read the log file:

  Go to the home screen. Hold down the "alt" key and type "lglg". (You won't see anything as you type). This will bring up the log file.   I have Social RSS installed on my Blackberry and it is integrated with Facebook. I can see messages from my friends through this application. However, when I try to post on Facebook, it gives an error. The error is "your message was sent NOT Facebook. The pop-up message instantly, so I think that the phone is not even an attempt to make the post. I can post on Twitter and BBM, however.

  1. Launch of Facebook for BlackBerry smartphones
  2. Press the menu button and select Options
  3. Click Empty the Cache
  4. When you are prompted to select Yes.

  After that, try to restart your smartphone and try to post something new.

  the 8707 can play mp3. The problem is that there is only 64 MB of memory onboard and:

  • a large part of it is used by the operating system
  • You cannot install a memory card on your device

  I know, it sucks. Maybe it's time to buy another device if you intend to use it as a Portable Media Player.

  Have you tried a battery pull?

  With the phone, remove the battery, wait 10 seconds, then put the battery back in and waiting for the BB start (about 5 minutes)

  Some other things to consider... are the music files in the same format (mp3 or other)?  There are a few file formats which will not read on a BB, this could have something to watch - see this Web page (select your model of BB): http://tinyurl.com/2cxqnbk  

  Also, I experienced problems with the mp3s that plays fine on my computer (Mac), but once on my BB have not played or caused some undesirable problems with my BB because they had a 'virus' incorporated in them, which has not reacted on my Mac, but it was on my BB.

  activate USB mass storage and connect your device to your computer.

  using the file Explorer on your computer, on the memory of your device and your memory card support, show hidden files.

  in each folder that contains a media file (mp3, video, midi file, photo), you'll see a hidden file named BBThumbs.dat. It's the indexing file, which can get damaged when you perform an upgrade.

  I suggest you simply delete all these BBThumbs.dat files. After you detach your device, you will go to the multimedia application, that will trigger a complete indexing of all files. You should have no more bad play your files.
