BlackBerry Z10 putting a Z10 on mute

How can I put the Z10 on mute quickly before a meeting or at a meeting.  The iPhone has a special button on the side that you can quickly drag down to mute.  I don't see such a button on the Z10 and it seems that the only way is to go to settings each time.

Thank you

The middle button shows the voice command on my device, but I suspect there will be a setting somewhere to control which button does what.  However, I find the button "down volume" to make more sense.  Push and hold to go to zero, then push once more for mute.  In this way, you won't find yourself accidentally muting and missing alerts.  I had this problem with the Otterbox Defender, trying to get the phone in and out of the Holster and by pressing the volume button too many times.  Returned that box and now I am much happier.  So, you would need a way to turn it back on again... "high volume" done this to me and is also a logical method.

If you have problems with contacts, etc., I suggest that you try to ask this question directly (if you have not already).  I was very happy with how my information came.  I think I saw a comment somewhere on importing your data to gmail, then pulling the phone... that could be an option.

Problem: BlackBerry Z30 stuck in a reboot loop

    Comments/Details:

    1. when it is connected to the wall charger, the red LED flashes for a few seconds, the display shows "BlackBerry" name. After that,.

    a. device either goes to a restart mode, the icon reload Blackberry OS, the charging progress are shown and about 60-70% progresses he new go to the mode (flashing empty charging symbol) load

    b. or device is standing right in the mode, load with screen showing beteer empty, load, seeing to the top flashes still with the typical color of LED for empty-drained/low battery levels.

    2. keep on charging for several hours, or even overnight will not help to restart. And he remains in charge mode with b symptoms of "scenario". Start button / stop fails to start the machine and after several attempts, it flashes only 'Blackberry' on screen and again charge mode.

Now its been 2-3 months I see my Z10 stuck in restart loop and hoping that maybe it lights up or I will be able to find the solution.

    Kindly help.

    Hi J Sanders,

Z10 was connected to the wall charger and all the tips/advice you mentioned have been tried. He could not start device.

Before trying the ADF, to check if battery is dead or defective; I kept it in my brother Z10. The battery was load and after a while, he turn the unit on its own.

However, the pile of work of Z10 my brother could not initialize my camera. I guessed corrupted software connection or the battery could be a problem.

I carefully observed battery connection ports, specifically the part that establishes the conncetion of metal tabs of the battery with the unit (given in the image http://www.gsmzone.co.uk/Blackberry-8900-Z10-Battery-Connector).

I found one of the metal connector stuck / out partially / fits loosely / spring-movement irregulars / and is not able to communicate perfectly with the metal strips of the battery.

I tried to solve this problem by manually removing the metal connector. After several test, I managed to do it.

I put my battery in my Z10, he acknowledged, and red LED flashed, name BlackBerry flashed, Blakberry OS Reload icon flashed-has increased 100%, Blackberry 10 name flashed and Z10 began. Device came to operational status.

Current operating system version is 10.3.2.2836.

No SIM or media inserted in it.

Charge the unit and check if all functions work fine.

  • BlackBerry Z10 need to add a Signature to my text to comply with Bill C-28

Hi all.  I'm new to the Forum and would like to thank everyone in advance for any help that you can answer with.  I searched some topics before posting without much success.

Course coming July 1, 2014 Bill C-28 will start which requires all companies to include a link 'stop' of some kinds of all electronic devices.  I need to know how to add a signature with a 'stop' option to my text messages.  Yet once this isn't for the emails that I already put in place for that.  This is for TEXT Messaging.

So far, everywhere I looked States that Blackberry does not have this option.  Well, if they do not, they understand something quickly.  Apple and Andriods have.

Please if you have any suggestions that can help, it would be greatly appreciated.

    Again, I use a Blackberry Z10

    Thank you!

Since the new update of my guard battery dies unexpectedly, it resembles a minute, I have about 20% battery left, I enter the peripheral battery monitor and it tells me that I still have some time left on the device and the next minute, he is completely dead.

There is no way to calibrate the battery because I can't seem to discharge fully, or perhaps it is completely discharged to about 20%, but it doesn't.

  • BlackBerry Z10 tries to remove newly BBID Z10 configuration and use an existing BBID

Hi, I recently bought a new Blackberry Z10 camera. I started setting up. I wanted to create a Blackberry user ID if I entered an email address that I use frequently. I got an error message stating that the e-mail address is already in use. I thought that I never used a Blackberry ID/product/service forward. I couldn't understand why this email address was used, then after you have re-entered it a few times I decided to try using another email address that I use as often. I put the BBID using another email address, however I have not confirmed it yet. A few hours later, I realized why Blackberry gave me an error message on the first email address, I tried to use. On two or three years I created BBM on my Iphone with a Blackberry ID for text messaging. I used a couple of times and didn't use it thereafter. The next day I went in my email account to see the email confirmation for the BBID I put in place a few days ago. Rather than confirm the BBID, I saw an option: If you did not create or do not recognize this account, remove this BlackBerry ID. Which is what I did. I deleted it. Because I didn't use this BBID. Then I tried to connect the Z10 with the BBID, I created three years ago (before logon on the phone I have to reset my password on the site Web of Blackberry). I could not log in with the old BBID, I created while all the information is correct (I can log on to the Web from Blackberry site, see my profile and settings). The phone tell me the username and password is wrong when I click on the button check that it is just for the opening session with my information screen. The problem is that the phone keeps the profile settings and e-mail address since when I put in place a few days ago and I can't get rid of it, because it is associated with the phone. I read on the forum somewhere, that, in order to get rid of a BBID who is on the phone, I would need to do a reset and community support of Blackberry. Not sure if this is true. The issue is when I try to do that, I have to enter the password that I deleted so I'm stuck BBID. Don't know what to do. I'm all new to Blackberry and would appreciate any support you could give me to solve this issue.

Hello and welcome to the community!

Unfortunately, you are now in a difficult situation...

Indeed, this information is true. The only way to remove the association between a device and a BBID must WIPE the device. But... you've discovered...

    Mioprincipe wrote:

This means that the device must execute the last branch 10.3.2.xxxx of the operating system, which includes the anti-theft function required by the Government, which requires that before a device is deleted, the anti-theft function BBProtect be first to be defeated before the wipe. Without this step, after the wipe, the same BBID is required (to prevent a thief using the device at all).

Here is some useful information (all the "official" BB staff):

  • BlackBerry Z10 SOFTWARE PROBLEMS

I have a Blackberry z10 STL 100-3. I'm heading, that there was an update, so I decided to check for this in the menu settings every time I check what he always says I have update of software of lates which isn't true because I never updated the interface and it looks the same. So I tried to update via Windows Blackberry link and if I check the updates it says also that I have the latest version of Blackberry software. So I decided to check the updated online and I download a thinking that this is the original which turns out is the edition of testers. I tried to put in day or it downgrade to the previous version because this version of testers contains all the features of the real version of the OS and I don't know how we downgrade or update the real new version of OS update. I read online how to go through link to Blackberry, but whenever I connect my phone to my computer it does not show me reload the software. What should I do?

My advice is to reload the original operating system as released by your carrier. At least so, then assess the situation. See http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/BlackBerry-10-Functions-and/How-to-Reload-your-Blackberry10-O... and review. If you were trying to read anyway and try again following the instructions.

If reloading using the link works, see http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/BlackBerry-10-OS-Device-Software/Upgrading-OS10-devices-using... Read carefully.

Insofar as the upgrade, this is usually controlled by the carrier. There are exceptions, such as devices without brand sold by the store BlackBerry or Amazon.   Unless your device is one of the exceptions, and you know that your operator has released an update, contact your provider's customer service.

You will have to wait until the official release.  Everything I read, you cannot downgrade to an official release.

  • BlackBerry Z10 Default earpiece/Headset Bluetooth / output Audio Plug

During the drive, I have a kit hands free bluetooth (speaker jabra) and I have the audio output taken mini plugged into my car for audio (stereo / music).

During audio playback to my car, it uses the audio Jack very well, the problem is when I receive a call, I want to use the bluetooth headset device instead.

Now when I receive a call, the audio of the call is routed to the mini taken and I have to manually select the helmet after answering the call which is a pain in the...

Is there a way to set the default device for different outputs.

    for example

Use the mini as the audio device output by default when the music plays.

When I get a call, use the headset as default device bluetooth for phone calls.

When I hang up, swinging back to the mini taken (because it is the default device for audio)

    In addition,

I ordered the bridge thinking music that he could solve my problem.

Will I have the same problem with it when 2 bluetooth devices are connected? for example, the audio gateway and my bluetooth headset.

Should be able to assign the bluetooth services specific to the results of the default value.

for example Audio > mini plug if it is present as a default value if no, he can use bluetooth

    Calls > bluetooth headset.

    Hope that makes sense.

    Dave

The Blackberry music gateway solves this problem (kind of) works better... when the two jabra or any other headset device is connected and the music gateway is connected it muffles call correctly and works correctly...

The new problem is introduced only if you have a headset (bluetooth or hands-free headset) that also supports music services. (The two compete to connect to theses services)

I suggest buying a hands-free device that does not support music services (only a helmet) and then you should not meet for the problem below

Read this new thread to see the solution to this new problem, if it still exists.

  • BlackBerry, BLACKBERRY Z10 Z10 Os Downgrade

I m from Pakistan. I m using Blackberry z10 stl100-2 last night I reset my mobile but my mobile is not on and just the red light flashes, then I try to link blackberry but no installed os not on software update so I'm looking App Autoloader Blackberry os 10.3 and install on my mobile now my phone works, but some applications like photos video, video clip and some applications do not work properly I want to just install my previous OS 10.2 on my mobile please help me for this

    Thanks in advance

Unfortunately, ignoring all warnings with that you should have to be made, you have now activated your device in a developer test device. There is no intended for general purpose OS 10.3.3. 10.3.3 OS out there only are strictly for the application development process, and they are severely constrained in their functionality. It is an intentional situation, hamper the OS for the developer of the app to specifically test some things. That's why these OS developer packages are never intended to be installed at someones "daily driver".

In addition, the 10.3.3 Developer OS includes a similar restriction 10.3.2. a... Once you move to the 10.3.3 level, you cannot fall back to previous levels or 10.3.2. It is blocked, just like 10.3.2 is blocked to prevent falling back to 10.3.1 or an earlier version.

You're now stuck on 10.3.3 while BB released a production version of the OS 10.3.3. There is no way around that. The only thing you can do is try to make the OS as functional as you can through these tips:

It will not be perfect, and it won't be complete. Some things may work for you, and others could not. But it is not what it will be until BB releases a bunch of OS 10.3.3 production.
