Blockages of the system with El Capitan

How can I stop my system crash after installation of El Capitan in October?  He planted 3 times since then. Would not boot.  Instead of the Apple logo - was a circle with / thru in the middle.  I used Firewire for restore from my MacPro.  Have currently updated to OS X 10.11.3 installed.

Is there no remedy?  I am so disappointed with this product!

Start in safe mode

<http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1564>

In almost EVERY case to install El Capitan and experience an accident, it is caused by the 3rd party software previously installed by the user.

Start in safe mode does NOT load that 3rd party software, causing the crash.

Thanks for posting the reports Kernel Panic: "/ Library/Logs/DiagnosticReports".

The panic report should have "panic" in the name of the file.

You could also post the EtreCheck output for the forum to analyze and made suggestions on your system.

  • Want J010dx m7: windows will not start until after full recovery of the system with new HARD drive

    Hello world

    I need help here.

My HP envy m7 J010dx works perfectly with my original hard drive (1 TB).

I am preparing a second HDD (NEW 320) as backup.

I took off the Moose HDD (1 TB) and replace it with the NEW HARD drive (320GB) and try to do a full recovery of the system with the HP recovery DVD.

After full system recovery and laptop computer needs to be restarted in order to continue, the laptop keeps restarting on the logo of windows 8.

I think it says device not found Boot. Also a test using the UEFI tool material HP and all pass.

Replacing the NEW HARD drive with the original of the old HARD drive and it start normally.

What can go wrong here in this case? Thank you very much for the help.

    Concerning

    John

OK, I read through the thread and this is my point of view on this based on works including restore process with the user created a recovery (UCRDs) media which the user indicated that they used.

If you just want to jump to the conclusion at the bottom, you can see my opinion. If you want to know 'why' Please read the entire post.

    Model No.: m7-j010dx

    Product #: E0K83UA #ABA

    Ships OS: Windows 8 (64-bit)

Recovery HP part No. Kit: 730336-002 (3 DVDs + extra)

User replaced the HARD drive with a 1 TB hard drive 5400 RPM with HP ProtectSmart hard drive Protection a new hard drive is a Seagate Momentus 7200.4 ST9320423AS 320 GB 7200 RPM 16 MB Cache SATA 3.0 GB / s 2.5 "Notebook internal hard drive.

With the help of UCRDs sent media recovery media (SSRDs):

When the UCRDs are created, only the drivers for the HW operation (this is a critical point, that I will look later) are burned to the user created a recovery media.  Consider this a snapshot of the current HW, the base drivers and software applications.   If you change the HW on your laptop or desktop where the additional device requires a different driver for these features, a few questions you might - recovery process could stop because he can't find the right driver, a blue screen, a lack of start-up or other unstable system.

A few years ago, I had a PC that would not recover because the Blu - ray (ODD) optical disk drive did not work.  I replaced the WEIRD Blu - ray with a generic DVD/CD burner into the new part of Blu - ray is presented.   I got the PC using SSRDs thinking I would put some time and just install the Blu - ray after the PC has been recovered.   The PC recovered and when the new Blu - ray showed I installed the unit and guess what?  All PCs have shown in Device Manager and applications was a generic ODD - no Blu - ray capability and ability to read Blu - ray content in the default HP provided for multimedia applications delivered with the PC.  Applications were there but no Blu - ray capability.

Huh?  It looks that I did not put any time at all.

I inserted the new Blu - ray ODD and distributed recovery with the HP SSRDs.

After recovery, I had all the Blu - ray drivers and applications supported Blu - ray.

The difference between UCRDs and SSRDs:

UCRDs provide a glimpse of what is installed and functional both disks are created.

Version Digest of the player on what is happening with SSRDs to retrieve a PC (before Windows 10):

SSRDs have all the drivers for all the HW and SW qualified for the unit.  There may be several drivers for hard drives, different types/screen resolutions, sides, etc.  Based on the characteristics of the specific laptop / desktop a process is run called "Do / don't.   After entering the recovery SDRD, the Notebook media boots to Recovery Manager.  The first step is a raw copy of all the contents of the disc on a temporary partition.  Following the Do / do not process looks at the characteristics of this specific unit and remove all other drivers and applications not used by this device.  Drivers and the only successful applications are the features supported.   And then, the new operating system and recovery partition is created.   The PC end recovery of cleaning process and restart the laptop / desktop. And, Yes, you guessed it, if you create the user created a recovery media, you only have the drivers for HW devices and applications of HP on the PC at the time.

So, that being said, what could be the cause/solution?

Hard drives can be different enough so that a different driver (not the UCRDs) is necessary for the newly installed HW.

The SSRDs are supported on the new HARD drive installed?

I don't know, I have an office boy, and I have not tried on this model of laptop.

If you have / acquire SSRDs, I recover the laptop with the new installed HARD drive and see if it works.  It may or may not.  I don't know what drives were qualified for this laptop.

If this does not work, the last option is cloning via USB connection (old HARD drive in the PC, new HARD drive connected to a USB 3 via the SATA Adapter (dongle) USB port, install or download software cloning and cloning the old HDD to the new.)   I just did this on the two older Windows 7 computers laptops using a SanDisk Ultra kit.  He has worked on both units.

    Conclusion:

I don't think that the problem is caused from a HARD drive of 1 to a 320 GB HARD drive, as it meets the minimum specs for a complete installation.  I think the problem is related to the use of UCRDs to retrieve and the UCRDs do not have the HARD driver/firmware/application disc.

    But then again, I know.

I use a Pavilion dv4. Windows just crashed on a blue screen with a message about physical memory dump. Now when I start the computer it will just a black screen with a blinking cursor to the place when windows normally should start. I can not access the system with the f11 key recovery. I went in with the f2 key diagnostic mode. Diagnostic tests except for the battery test that failed, but shouldn't the laptop to be able to run without a battery if it is connected? And besides, if the problem was the battery, the laptop wouldn't be able to turn on at all, no?

I tried see if there are solutions but, other than the use of an external apple keyboard, I can't find any other solution to avoid hitting this erronously trackpad!

Is there a setting that I can take advantage of to render the less sensitive trackpad and so avoid this disadvantage?

  • Recover the system with recovery disks

I have a Pavilion Elite desktop computer. I tried to reset/recover my system with the recovery disks that I created when I bought the system. But I get the following messeage: "system recovery disks do not support this computer. You cannot restore this system with these discs. "GOOD, then I thought that my disks must be bad and ordered a set of HP. I come from them and tried again to restore my system... EVEN COMING? What's wrong? Need help.

The recovery disk problems Troubleshooter need effects?

There is another thing that you could do that provide the Windows key is always visible on your COA sticker.  Since it was a multi-configurable system you should know it was professional, Home Premium or ultimate edition. Please be aware that what I propose will not contain the goodies HP provided with recovery disks, you will need to reinstall all your programs and data.

Go to this site and download the version of Windows 7 ISO which matches what you had initially and have your key ready.

  • Wmp54gv4 crashes the system with Airport Extreme

I had been using my Linksys wireless-G PCI adapt WMP54Gv4 on a PC running XP (SP3) and a wireless router Airport Extreme for the past 4 or 5 years without any problem. Then recently, my wireless signal had become scaly on all client machines (on PC and Mac, who reported the signals low and kept down and looking for a new PPPoE my DSL line). AT & T verified our line was very good and even sent a new modem problems, so I bought a new Airport Extreme last week. This solves the problem of reliability of the network on the Mac very well.

However, the PC with the adapter WMP54Gv4 now crashes whenever the new Airport Extreme is turned on. There has been no change in hardware or software on the PC, but it produces now surely a BSOD indicating "DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL". This accident also happens when you start in safe mode with network. I can avoid the system crash when starting in safe mode without network or start normally without my Airport Extreme on, although I don't see this error: "Linksys Wireless Network Monitor: access violation at address 0040756 D in module EMP54Gv4.exe."

So I can't run all the tests of the PCI card on the machine when the wireless network is enabled, because the operating system crashes.

Accordingly, the evidence points to an explanation where my wireless network against the new Airport Extreme is tripping the operation of the wireless adapter linksys in a way that hate the XP. I know that the wireless network is correct, because it works fine on my Mac. I confirmed that my (v3.0.3.0) driver is still listed under the current name of this PCI card, it is not a matter of having an out-of-date driver.

Here is another observation that may be relevant: when I started the new Airport Extreme with WPA2 protection, the PC could run without crashing, but it didn't connect to the wireless network. I also had trouble connecting through my Mac. Then I changed the Airport Extreme to use WPA/WPA2 security, i.e. when the crash of PC networked ensued (Although Macs can connect very well now).

Someone has encountered this problem before or have any troubleshooting tips? Thank you.

OK, problem has been solved, thanks to some fine work of Ron Hubbert to http://rhsoftware.com (my offer of $100 tip went not claimed). Here's what he discovered:

My PC power supply is gone belly up, why it could not be turned on. It is likely that before it is completely dead, bad functioning caused by the card to fail (and BSOD PC) as he tried to draw power in the presence of a wireless network. Feeding to bum probably damaged the card when it failed. With the new power in place now, the original card is unusable, and it prevents the computer from starting.

So I have a new card after all, wireless network card if the attempt to install with a bad power supply could lead to the new card is fried as well. Fortunately, the food was not functional when I put the new card, so it was spared.

I don't know if my story applies to the situation of MrQuizzle, but I suspect that it is related to food, because it doesn't happen only in the presence of a wireless network when the map starts demanding power. It's worth a try. Give a http://rhsoftware.com if you are in the SF East Bay, he'll fix you up.

  • Blockages of the system repeated in the past week.

Help! My system became really unstable in the last week or two.  I can't understand what is happening.  I use a laptop with Windosw 7 home.  I exported the results of the tool of reliability.  Can anyone help?  It keeps crapping on me.

    Hello

    1. when exactly the system breaks down?
    2. do you receive any error messages?
3 have there been any changes made on the computer before the show?

    Method 1:
I suggest to try the steps mentioned below and check if it helps to solve the problem.

Step 1: Start the computer using safe mode with networking.

    (a) Remove all floppy disks, CDs and DVDs from your computer, and then restart your computer.
    (b) If your computer has a single operating system installed, press and hold the button F8 as your rebooting the computer.
    (c) you need to press F8 before the Windows logo appears.
    (d) if the Windows logo appears, you need to try again by waiting until the Windows logon prompt appears, and then stop and restart your computer.
    (e) in the display Advanced Startup Options, use the arrow keys to select the desired mode safe mode with networking option and press enter.
    (f) log your computer with an user account with administrator rights.

    Reference: http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/advanced-startup-options-including-safe-mode

Check to see if the problem persists in Mode safe mode with networking. If the problem does not occur in Mode safe mode with Networking if you please try the next step.

Step 2: Try to put your computer in a clean boot state.

By setting your boot system minimum state helps determine if third-party applications or startup items are causing the problem.

How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or Windows 7:
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135

Note: After the boot minimum troubleshooting step, follow step 7 in the link provided to return the computer to a Normal startup mode.

    Method 2:
If the problem persists you can scan your computer anti-virus using the Microsoft Safety Scanner.

Microsoft safety scanner will help us to get rid of software viruses, spyware and other malicious software.

The Microsoft Security Scanner is a downloadable security tool for free which allows analysis at the application and helps remove viruses, spyware and other malware. It works with your current antivirus software.

    http://www.Microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx

Note: The Microsoft Safety Scanner ends 10 days after being downloaded. To restart a scan with the latest definitions of anti-malware, download and run the Microsoft Safety Scanner again.

Warning: If you run the antivirus program that is infected by the virus scan will get deleted. Therefore, reinstall the program. Also, if files and folders are affected by the virus, while they might even get deleted.

For more information, please see the link.

  • Restore the system with F11?

I could use some advice.  I have a new E530, less than a week.  I met a major error while trying to install Office.  I must have clicked once too many times and he tried to install multiple instances, failed.  I tried the uninstall from the control panel and reinstall, which also failed.  Then I tried a system restore of Windows 7, which failed.  Apparently, Kaspersky is not friendly with the system restore.  I could restore from an early stage, before installing Kaspersky.

I'm not confident in Windows and the registry.  I was coming just to make the F11 thing and start from scratch with the default factory condition?  I appreciate any advice you can give.  Windows does not start successfully, but I saw a weird behavior of the NumLock on message on my screen.  Since I have almost nothing on the laptop right now, I'm leaning towards a choice of F11 system restore.

    Thank you

    Harry

    Hey HarrysLaptop,

Yes Factory Default restore your computer to as it was when he left Lenovo you. He will have everything he had when you first got and lit. If all the pilots that he had instructed when you had initially activated the first time will be there again and brand-new, you added, you have to reinstall.

  • How does the opening with El Capitan?

Despite the merits of the new Photo app (which I did not assess noting that the trend of the subscription), I look forward to continue to use the opening. I'm even willing to vote a MacPro 2006 offline to the single task of maintaining the library and sharing in the House. However, I have an iMac of 2012 which currently stretches from Yosemite 10.10.3 and seems to do very well with an opening.

So the QUESTION I have is...

(((A) if I were to upgrade to El Capitan, opening is going to have a problem 1) to run a program reliable and 2) with the library of images and metadata etc?

    (B) if I can't stand the envy of others who went to 'Photo' at any time in the future, will be I "missed the boat" in some way to be able to transfer everything to the enviable systems of the future like Photo? (thinking that photos, organizational structure and metadata)

    (C) could I still use the structure of the Organization of the opening at the same time? (use the Photo and export to the opening)

    (D) Aperture Will be able to handle 30 mb image quality + (shooting RAW)?

(I am indeed not a pro but a passionate photographer of the family hoping not fossilize) - thanks for any help on the above!

Many seem to be running OK opening on El Capitan; works for me, but I'm importing is more a lot in. Others have had problems, BUT feel that some users of Aperture are also use old hardware also.

Don't forget that one of the salient features of the opening is the ability to store non-destructive image adjustments. So all these beautiful shots you cropped, tuned, converted to B & W, etc. May NOT be exist in Aperture. If you exported from those, exports exist. But if not and opening stop, because it willl eventually, you lose these adjustments not exported. Pouf. A backup would not allow the same.

The originals, however, probably will last some time, given that JPEG and RAW files even now are ubiquitous. This isn't like MacPaint documents. But still.

It is possible that in future versions of Photos you wouldn't not is more able to import libraries including these adjustments I talked about. Probably not for a while, but why take the chance? Keep your original Aperture library and convert a copy for use in Photos (or anything else). No problem except a little of space at low cost. If you continue to use Aperture, just think of that as a backup strategy. (And BTW, I doubt even paralyzed opening users will envy Photos users for a long time, if ever).

With the opening in parallel is possible, but works best if both are reference the same photos, do not use managed libraries. But which prevents you from using iCloud photo library, which might not be a problem. It requires some tedious workflow issues, but it's doable. Everyone can (at this stage) import virtually any TIFF other exports. But even once, you lose the settings in this way. If you convert an Aperture library for use with Photos, you don't need to export; parameters (settings) move instead of TIFF.

Opening will eventually choke on something. And he is not developing; stuff like mist filtering, HDR, focus stacking, RAW, pixel shift development plugins, etc etc all goes dead journal. Get a new camera and relying on the opening to treat his images seem to be rather backward, unless you like looking at photos on your flipphone in 8 glorious colors.
