Blu - Ray with external TV

I have a HP Pavilion dv7-1175nr with blu - ray disc player.  The player is a blu - ray movie very well to the laptop screen.  However, when I connect my plasma tv 720 external resolution via hdmi port, I get an error message when you try to play blu - ray movie.

The error is:

The content is protected

The content is not allowed to play in the current display mode.

Can someone help me understand what the problem is?  I'm sure I have a configuration problem, but that he cannot understand it...

Thank you...

You must turn off the computer screen, then it will work.

  • Virtual Blu Ray player or Blu Ray drives external programs... Which one? Myth or Muffin?

    Greetings one and all,

Alrighty then let me are the sitch. When I bought my computer two years ago I got to worth the money, cash, dough or dollars to buy, so I had to skimp on what I wanted. The main thing I have the proverbial axe was the disk/drive Blu Ray, my PS3 could handle plqaying already so I was not too broken not to have one in the computer, after all, it was a short walk to the center of pop entertainment in the dics and press play.

Well, it was then and this is now and I have become totally lazy and should rather not do the loooong now trek to the PS3 to play my Blu Ray DVD more and prefer to have this accomplished through my computer without the need to install another drive. So now I'm looking for ways to accomplish these tasks by getting either a Blu Ray drive/external drive, or use one of the many "virtual drive Blu - Ray reader/programs I've seen available for download on the net?

Now the first choice is to say... the external hard drive is pretty easy to install, just pop something cord USB into the USB port and tah dah Uncle Bob, you have a Blue Ray disc/player! The second path, that the program Virtual Drive/drive Blu Ray, becomes a much more confusing question, a question I am now in touch with you very smart people. Okay here's my stupid question...  These programs will work through my factory installed Combo drive CD/DVD Drive to play my Blu Ray DVD on my calculation? Or do I really have to buy something else to achieve?

    Hi Tiffany Snow,

Welcome to the Microsoft Community, thanks for posting your question in the Microsoft Community. You will need a physical bluray player to read physical disks. A virtual disk appears only on the computer disk images.

  • How can you play Blu Ray with Media Center?

I'm reading Blu Ray discs with media center, but it will give me only the error message that they are not supported.  How can I me media center to use powerDVD or another program to read?

    Thank you very much

PowerDVD will not integrate with WMC (assuming that you have a BD - Rom drive installed).  You may have more luck with WinDVD 9 which integrates with Media Center.

  • Cannot read Blu Rays with software HP DVD play BD and HD DVD

I have a Pavilion m9060n Vista desktop computer. Running HDMI on a monitor Samsung. It is used to play Blu Rays on the rare times where I tried it, now, it won't. I went through the procedure of updating through Cyberlink and now I'm stuck with this:

"Do you want to activate your reader now" flashes on the display and the program stops. This happens on multiple disks.

I reinstalled the DVD playback software, run the Cyberlink BD & 3D Advisor and it passes. I tried to read a comic that I ripped to my hard drive, video playback, but there is no sound, probably due to the fact that he is no longer a healthy option HMDI in DVD playback menu.

For testing purposes, I have download the Cyberlink PowerDVD 10 trial and everything works fine which must exclude a hardware problem.

Who did the trick. Everything I threw at it worked well. I tried to do an update, the police is unreadable on my screen and it gave me the opportunity to close this window. Impossible to tell what version it is.

    Hi George,.

I suggest you to use your favorite search engine to find and download any third-party application to read the blue ray discs.

  • HP Pavilion Slimline s5623w - try to find a burner blu ray with hook in case of ejection

I want to upgrade my optical drive to a blu ray burner and the problem is that the 5.25 Bay is not visible on this model of hp. It is mounted vertically behind a grid and the actual eject disk button is not accessible. Is there a button on the case itself to open and close the drive that is controlled by a small wire connecting from the button on the case of a small port at the back of the current drive.

I looked through pictures of every single blu ray burner on the market and it seems that not a single one has this feature.

I'm not a perfectionist, but inconsistencies upset me and that just asking the question... Why this didn't think? I even checked real HP burners-blu ray thinking of course what they would think of this small but important feature... but no luck.

If someone knows any of this a blu ray burner please inform me! I just wouldn't be able to bear have a button that does not work and have to use myComputer to open the tray!

    Hello

I believe that the HP Slimline s5280t has the BD-R/W drive you want.  The Remove/replace instructions made reference the reader perspective ejection of the connector.  Watch the video.

  • You can play itunes from a computer via a Sony blu - ray with a wi - fi connection?

I would like to listen to the playlist on my desktop that is connected to a wireless router. Can my blu - ray receive and play this music? How do I configure this?

    Thank you-

    Cindy

You can set up your computer as a DLNA server and access playlist from iTunes in the Blu - ray player using the DLNA feature. iTunes software can stream music using the Digital Living Network Alliance (DLNA) technology if it is connected to a file-sharing application.

Some examples of file sharing applications (Media Server):

    • Windows Media Player
    • Software VAIO Media Server
    • Media Server DLNA Serviio
    • Twonky suite
    • EyeConnect UPnP AV Streaming media

Instructions for the Computer Configuration such as DLNA server are mentioned on the technical support article below:

    http://www.KB.Sony.com/selfservice/documentLink.do?externalId=C1019860

NOTE: Not all Blu - ray players are compatible DLNA. To see if your player is compatible DLNA, check the features that are available through the manuals/Specs/warranty section after you enter model # Blu - ray drive in the link mentioned below:

  • I can't format a drive blu - ray with windows 7 64 bit. Everything else seems to work

I was able to drag some files to the device in windows Explorer and copy. However it is not the same thing as what you can do with a dvd. I want to be able to back up the system with the BD discs but cannot if there is no possibility to format. This seems to be a driver or windows probblem and not a drive problem. Furthermore, when I right click on properties the player is not used space.

    Hello MarkW00,

    Please clarify this for me.

  • How can I burn a Blu - Ray disc with menu?

I have a project of 38 minutes composed mainly of footage HD (.m2ts. MP4 and some. MI/GAL). I try to make the project to Blu - Ray with Premiere elements 12, it takes about an hour to reach 98% with the message "Media encoding", then switches to "Compilation of media" and freezes there (I let it go for 6 hours with no end in sight). Manager tasks indicates that it uses not no matter what CPU cycles, while using up to 96% of the CPU before reaching this point. I was able to make this project on a DVD, folders on my HARD and AVCHD disc on a DVD successfully.

For a test, I tried with the same results, a project of 1 minute. It wasn't until I removed the disc menu I could burn a Blu - Ray disc. I'm under the project on a PC with Windows 7 Home Premium, 64 bit, an AMD Athlon II x 4 2900 Mhz, 4 cores, 4 logical processors with 4 GB of RAM, processor 635. I found a number of references to the completion of 98%, but no real solution. Any help would be appreciated as I would like to produce a record high definition with menus...

Success. Doubling of memory up to 8 GB has done the job. I was able to burn a Blu - Ray with the disc menu and beautiful results (the video is of good quality). I guess that the step "compilation media" requires a significant amount of memory for Blu - Ray.

Surprisingly, it does not speed up the rendering process, but it must allow me to burn bigger projects in the future.

Thanks to all those who have contributed with great suggestions...

  • How can I use a Sony Blue Ray on my Macbook Pro

I have a Sony Blue ray with HDMI and I wanted to watch a movie on my mac, but when I use my HDMI port on my computer, the device is an empty file and the video player cannot display the dvd player.  knows there are adapters for HDMI to love at first sight, but why can't I use my existing HDMI port of pre?

Anyway, if someone could help that would be great.

If you are looking to play Sony's Blu - Ray discs on your computer, you can not, as the laptop is not all video input ports.

HP Media Smart is not reading recently bought Blu - ray DVD.  DVD Blu - ray with dates of production before 2012 plays very well, but when I try to play DVD, I get the message of ' check for updates ', and I can't get past this fast.

I think that I've updated the software with the latest HP media smart DVD version.

Operating systems - Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit Service pack 1

    BIOS - version F.27

HP Media Smart DVD - version 4.2.5122

  • Bridge to Blue Ray?

I think I have a Blue Ray player disc with an ethernet port, but without its own wireless capability.  Can I use a Linksys WET610N bridge to connect it to my home network (based on a WRT160N) wireless so I can stream Netflix or something else?  Shoud I use something different?

You are absolutely right... You can use the Blue Ray with Linksys WET610N. First you need to configured the bridge and then wireless router wireless, you can connect Blue Ray in the WET...
