Board access service impossible to replace or reinstall the DVD player:

Ok. I watched all the videos and all the how made to remove the service Panel.  Remove the battery and then unscrew the two screws that willl not delete because they are dependants of spring.

Mine has only one screw. Unscrew it. I have down can't want to breakthe Panel, but it seems even I am the only worldwide solicitor who has a Pavilion g6 with an access panel a ugly screws that will not come off unless I break.  Please send link to a service a panel live how to. Because I'm screwed.

The mark on the service panel said "protectsmart" on it.

I found this for a different but not for the g6 Pavilion model. I tried special screws under the battery but none have been found.

Let's start by making sure the "shockwave flash" addon is activated correctly in Internet Explorer.  Please, try the steps outlined in these two FAQS:

  • Impossible to download and reinstall the operating system after erasing HD

Yesterday morning, my iMac won't start.  It was fine the night before.

The progress bar reaches about two thirds to three quarters of the way to the end when the bar of progress disappears and I find myself with a gray screen. It does this by starting too.

I followed the advice of Linc Davis at https://discussions.apple.com/message/21333265 (hash) 21333265 (Note - I can't find the symbol of hash on my keyboard key so if you if know where he is, please replace by in the link - oh (hash) and tell me where it's too please ;-)).

I started the Revovery volume (now here actually).  Run Disk Utility/First aid finds no problem with MacIntosh HD (my boot drive). I can't find how to repair permissions.  The option no longer seems to be there. Reset NVRAM has nothing else that makes the iMac wonder my preferred language.

I used download and reinstall OS option.  The first time I tried to re-download El Capitan, it took 15 minutes and 45 minutes to install.  Installation failed leaving me to the grey screen again.  I think that the Setup program itself was trying to restart the iMac when he got stuck in the same place I'm stuck.  I left it there for about six hours before I tried to restart manually.

Tried to download the operating system again. This time, it was after using the recovery volume, select MacIntosh HD, by using erasing, then the option reinstall in THE.

I did two times now.  The first time I tried 'Erase and re - install' the download bar has got to a point about a third of the way across, and then he stopped. Time of download bar gradually got more and more long, up to what I canceled it (when the display estimated download time is six and a half).  The internet connection was problematic, or the Mac had stopped download (similar to the earier progress bar).  The second attempt to delete and download, the download bar has not yet started to progress.

My HARD drive has several volumes.

    1. The most important. My MacIntosh HD with OS 10.11.4 - El Capitan.
    2. The second, MacIntosh HD 2, is about 50 GB, a Mavericks installed on it.
    3. The third is 10.11.4 recovery volume.
    4. The fourth is another volume of recovery for the Mavericks.
    5. There is another called eDrive bulkhead.

Apart from MacIntosh HD, with none of these volumes I problems in starting up (with the possible exception of the Mavericks resumed, that I have not tried to access all since the update to El Capitan).

I used first aid utility disk several times, and no problems have been reported. I used the version of El Capitan permanently.

I can't understand why, after erasing the MacIntosh HD to do it again, I can't get the iMac to download the MacOS and reinstall.

    A couple of clues-

    • After his clear utility drive always reports what is MacIntosh HD. (When I restart, the dialog "Select Start Drive" only shows the volume of the Mavericks and eDrive)
    • Disk utility also shows "Apple Disk Image/OS X Base System."  OF THE said that it is ejection. But this button does not work.  I suspect it's what might stop download me the installer and start again.

I used e-drive to check the iMac and, in particular, the drive HARD; even performed a surface scan.  No problems have been reported.

Your 2007 iMac is too old to download OS X, you need to install OS X since the recovery partition directly. If this does not work then Yes, something is wrong with your HD run Apple Hardware Test Mode Extended 2 - 3 times back to back, if errors appear which confirms what I said. You will need the original DVD that came with the computer in order to run it.

  • How can satellite L300-19U - I reinstall Vista without having to work the DVD player?

    Hello

I have a big problem with my laptop Toshiba Satellite L300-19U.

1 month ago I installed Windows XP on it and it is now my DVD-ROM is broken, he did not read some CD DVD so I can't use my Vista recovery DVD reinstall Vista. Someone at - it had the same problem?

I heard there is a partition (hiden) where recovery is on it. I'm looking for this partition. And if I find it, I can boot directly from the partition to restore Vista? If not, is there another chance to get it back?

Please help me to reinstall the Vista recovery partition!

    Hello!

The hidden partition you want to say is a feature of Windows Vista, but you can restore t Vista with this partition. The point is that the partition is also deleted because you have installed Windows XP on it.

Restore Vista without recovery disc is possible if Vista is still installed on it. You can go into the advanced boot menu, and then select Repair my computer. Then you can choose the Toshiba HDD recovery option. This is a feature that restores Vista from the second partition.
But like I said is possible with Vista installed.

Just a question: why you n t to a service provider allowed? If your laptop is still under warranty, you should get a new CD/DVD drive for free. Normally it should take only a few days and then you're able to reinstall Vista! :)

  • Access denied to the DVD player

I put in a new DVD player, on the one hand it was not recognized, but I deleted the upper and lower filters in the registry and that worked. He seemed to be ok but had a read of a disc error and then it was not yet known - now he's here but access is denied. When I go into windows Explorer it does not show sound, but it does if I click on computer - when I right click on it and go to security, unless I put a disk in it says that the device is not ready. When I click ok on the Security tab it says info from security requested is either unavailable or cannot be displayed. When I go to the Advanced tab, I can try to put in info but it will not save all that access is denied... I logged on my account directors and the drive is there and accept DVD / CD although there seemed no mistakes to actually do something to play.
I tried the system restore, but that came with a missing sfi.dat error in order to not make changes either... I tried to uninstall the device, it's ok and reinstall it when I reboot but nothing has changed and access is denied.
Is - it there anyway to remove the current news for her to the computer and start again? Did nero or other software likely to be the cause?
    Ideas please!
    Windows 7 home
    Thank you
    Rebecca

I had to open disk management, right-click on the CD/DVD drive and open properties, click the Hardware tab, click the properties button, click the driver tab and uninstall the driver.

Then click on the Action of disk management menu, click on analyze the disks, it adds the drive and the error disappeared!

I don't think that ever there was a serial number for XI Standard reader since it is a free download. My Acrobat account shows no drive XI Standard or a serial number for it. The reader is free. There is no such thing as "Acrobat Reader XI". Looks like you have downloaded "Acrobat XI", which is not free...

To return XI Reader you can download it here (DC says the title, but you can choose to download older versions, in this case version 11): Adobe - Adobe Acrobat Reader DC Distribution

  • I need to. To replace a computer portable DVD player with the same model exactly?

I have a Pavilion Dv6 with a TS-l633j player, which is a failure. The drive is recognized in Windows (7 64-bit), but won't any DVD discs although it reads and plays audio CDs.

I tried everything short of reinstalling Windows. I think that the drive is toast now after trying a boot disk to start did not work... So the question is...

    Can I use a ts-l633 instead a ts-l633j? The l633 is easier (cheaper).

    Thanks in advance
    Kris

Yes, you can install any optical drive SATA to a good thickness. You may need to adjust the faceplate if you buy just a bare drive and optical drives are almost as generic than hard drives.

  • SSD in a DV5-1140ez as a replacement for the DVD player?

    Hello.

I have a DV5-1140ez (P8400 with 9600M) and I was wondering if would be possible to replace my DVD by an SSD drive.

In this case, what is the necessary link and how do I do adjust and maintain.

    Any ideas? Thank you!

    Hey Ray,

It is possible to do. Here is a link I found a quick search on Google, which replaces the CD Bay with a SSD caddy. Here is the link: http://goo.gl/CdbQo

This is just the first link I found, you may want to look around to find the best price.

    I hope this helps!
