  If you replace this file in jsonextension, you should be able to restore these data in Firefox.

I checked the level backup engine service block, Volume Shadow Copy and backup Windows are set to automatic and are running. I ran sfc and he found no problem.  I am able to start sdclt.exe / configure in a command window and it runs and gets "Starting Windows Backup followed by implementing backup...". and more of what seems to be OK.

  I can't just start it fron Control Panel. Everything else on the control panel works fine.

  1. what exactly happens if you mean when you talk about "clean boot does not work? Please provide details.
  2. have you tested the issue in a new user account, as suggested earlier?
   
  Boot fails only when you have disabled a vital service of Microsoft (S). You must observe extreme caution when performing the clean boot procedure.
   
  Note: Don't forget to restart your computer as usual after the clean boot.
   
  PS: Your son is better suited to the Performance category, so this would be moved (Again) to performance and maintenance

• My new laptop has crashed and disk backup does not work, can download a boot disk for Windows 7, I hit legitimate?

  My Acer 5745 laptop crashed, my backup boot drive does not work. The laptop was running Windows 7 when I bought new in November 2010. Y at - it somewhere that I can download a floppy or a recovery disc?  'The Source' store where I bought will not help, they said they had to go back to Acer and it could take up to two months to return to a charge of about $170.

  A laptop bought at that date will still be under warranty, there should be no costs involved, contact Acer technical support.

  I guess by the backup startup disk, you mean the set of recovery disks you did when you first used the PC?

  I am currently evaluating ESXi 3.5 and Backup Exec 12.5.

  First on my list was the backup and restore.

  I decided to try VMWare Consolidated Backup and Backup Exec 12.5 because it looked pretty good on the product pages.

  But of course not everything works as you expect, right?

  Here is my Test harness:

  ESXi 3.5

  Virtual MACHINE #1 Server 2003 (clean install)

  VM #2 Server 2003 (production system were migrated using VMWare Converter for testing purposes)

  VM n ° 3 Server 2003 (BE 12.5 + VCB Proxy, this configuration is supported by Symantec)

  Physics Vista x 64-use as destination of backup to disk

  On 12.5 BEING, I created a VM backup task #1. This job works perfectly.

  However, the same working parameters do not work for VM #2.

  Here are my observations:

  When I start the work for #1, I can see (on VI Client) there is a snaphsot beeing created, it happens within seconds and I then the temp on VCB proxy folder starts to grow.

  After some time the job ended. I was able to restore this backup.

  When I start the work for #2, the VI Client it says: "Create Virtual Machine snapshot - VM #2 – In Progress". On BE 12.5, he said: "export". That's it... nothing happens. No data on the temp folder can be expected for a folder.

  Even after 12, nothing has changed. There is no indication of a backup on the ESXi Performance tab process and performance for the virtual machine #2 is "not available for this entity.

  I can't cancel the snapshot process. I have to reboot the virtual machine #2, which brings back data on the performance and disappears it process snapshot.

  BTW, when I reboot #2 VM I've disconnected from the VI Client but can immediately reconnect (is this normal?).

  Apart from my backup problem ESXi makes a very strong impression after a few weeks of testing. BEING 12.5 does not, but it is still very powerful.

  Unfortunately there is no support for ESXi and BEING 12.5 evaluation. The help of this community would be much appreciated!

  If you need information that I left out/missed please let me know.

  The P2V conversions, especialy for complex systems, tend to bring out some weird questions. It would be my money on a problem of VSS subsystem on the virtual machine. Is the 2003 SP2? If try Yes the cumulative package VSS (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/940349) if not already installed.

  When I go to save my files under XP Pro SP3, nothing happens except I get a window semi completed for the backup that freezes and does not close.  I have used this for years and now all of a sudden this!  Any ideas?

  Restart your computer and wait 20 minutes for the system to operate before you download information. When the review much, not Event Viewer log files all problems show in the period immediately after the computer has booted.

  I tried Windows 10, but had trouble with the resolution of the screen.  I've started using the tool provided by MS Windows7 and now backup gives me an error and does not perform a backup.

  I finally had to call MS and they have managed to solve the problem.  Somehow when I started again from Win10 to Win7 the Task Scheduler or WindowsBackup was damaged.  The registry has also been affected.  The skills needed to repair this problem was well beyond my capabilities.

  With the assistance of MS, this problem is now resolved.
