Boolean reset alarm reset in LabVIEW 2009

Hi all, bit of a newbie here.

My goal is to read a set of virtual devices, when "moved" it starts a timer alarm sequence and if the "reset" is struck in time the alarm go off. I think I have to top that, where I am a little confused is how to reset alarm Boolean false if the alarm goes off. I think it must be outside the loop, but I don't know how. Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

Hello

Your drawing is very well organized - so good job on that.

There is no delay in your main loop. This causes a huge CPU load when no key is "moved".

The way you have implemented the function timer works but is not very flexible when you make changes to the program. Timers are easy to create using "engines of the action". You can use the vi Express timer, but I find that the side effects are often longer to process than to just make your own.

Your "alarm loop" has controls and indicators on the inside and he can hold up the execution of the main loop. This may give you problems like how to reset the alarm, and it causes the Stop button to not work when an alarm is in progress.

See the attached example. Using probes and highlight the performance to 'see' how the code works.

  • How to interface a simple way using LabVIEW 2009 simulink model and SIT?

    Hello

I finally found a way to use a template simulink with LabVIEW and the Toolbox to SIT, but I'm not satisfied.

If you have any suggestions, the link of resource that I missed, please do not hesitate to answer

Note that I do not know much about simulink, so that is my question seems stupid, let me know what

    Software configuration

OS: Windows (not an RT target)

    LabVIEW 2009

    SIT 2009

question 1: interfacing the model DLL (mapping considerations) with a driver VI

We have created a model of DLL by using the 'Workshop in real time' tab in simulink.

In LabVIEW, launch us the tool 'SIT connection manager' and try to use the DLL with a driver VI by mapping the e/s model for screw/lights orders.

The fact is that I fail to connect to my controls/indicators VI/o model because they do not appear in the mapping dialog box.

The simulink single objects that I managed to map are "constant" and "test points" while I need to edit the template simulink itself (example below)

Are in e/s model, not considered as part of the parameters of the model? (this could make sense because the mapping says in fact that it operates on "model parameters")

Is it possible to link the IO model VI commands/lights?

    Note:

-the "configure HW i/o mapping" dialog box allows me to map model e/s with e/s HW...

-The examples also use these "constant" and "test points".

2nd question: use of direct screw SIT

I tried to use the DLL directly with the screws SIT (code example below)

This kind of code works well on another project (target of 8.0/RT LV) but not on the current project (LV 2009/Windows)

The second stage of the model never ends:

-0-index of the loop works as expected (model doing its job).

-index of the loop 1 starts normally, but execution is stuck in the 'SIT scheduler.vi.

Then I have no choice that to kill LabVIEW ("Reset screws" windows appear if I try to stop/close them).

Is there a reason that I do not see what explains this behavior?

    Thanks for reading.

    Any help appreciated.

    Kind regards

    Hello

I spent some time analyzing the VI driver as you suggested.

    Here are my findings.

Question 1: the SIT connection manager does not pass to the model SW controls/indicators. Only, it allows the user map HW AIs/AOs.

The only solution I found (to have a SW - for example a shared variable - object that is mapped to an input/output model) is to customize the VI driver that is scripted by the SIT Connection Manager ("_Baserate Loop.vi" in the flat sequence structure named "read code")

Question 2: after spending some time in the VI driver, it seems that the VI to call right is not 'SIT scheduler.vi' but 'If SIT take model no time' (which uses the other as a Subvi)

My conclusions are correct? If I use the API in the wrong way, please let me know.

  • LabVIEW 2009 .exe works only with windows 2000

I created a simple vi with Labview 2009 for resetting a counter in the registry key. I changed it to an exe. The program works well on any machine with XP, but it does not work on the machine, that I need on which is running Windows 2000 SP4. I have installed the runtime of 2009, but I keep getting an error when it starts the vi is not executable and I need the full development to correct errors. But like I said it works everywhere else. I tried other exe wrote in LV2009 on this machine and they work. Is there something in my vi which is not compatible with Windows 2000?

    Thank you

You need generate the exe on a Windows 2000 machine to make it work.

Simply not true - even close to not being not right.

    Chris,

My guess is that the .NET component is not present on the pc of w2k.

  • Executable VI generating an error 222 on Keithley 2612 although his run correctly when starting labview 2009 directly

    Hi all

I have a VI that works perfectly and I can control, a 2612 Keithley has for measurements of transistor.

The VI run well when I realize it from the computer that has the Labview 2009 (XP OS) platform

Equipment (IE Keithley 2612 A) is related to another computer that is not labview 2009.

I installed the Run-time-engine 2009 (32-bit XP OS) on this computer.

Then, I create an executable of my VI with the option 'build application.

The executable VI starts normally on the computer, but when I run it, I get an error message from the Keithley 2612 (which wasn't the case when I ran the VI directly from the computer haing LabVIEW 2009 installed on it). The error message is 222 (ie the long parameter)

I thought I did something wrong and I create an executable from an original VI of Keithley (IE without modification). I get the same error message.

When I create an executable with the runtime engine 2009 included (because it is possible to do with LB 2009), I am geeting the same error message.

So I need to check step after step, when the message arrives but

Someone knows something about such a question?

    Thank you

    Hi all

Just for those who might experience a similar problem.

I found the solution after fighting all the possibilities.

The source of the problem was (for some reason) that the country setting of the computer was wrong

and decimals are written with one, instead of a point.

As I correctly reset the country setting, stand-alone files work normally.

  • LabView 2009 secondary Scrollbar

I have a minor problem with a Subvi I am running in a secondary school.  I am under LabView 2009 on Windows 7 computer and try disabling scroll bars that appear in the secondary, when the main VI is running.

I put all the controls and indicators of the Subvi which are not operated user or user to read (for example, refnum queue control) to be invisible and am sure that high school is large enough to hold the interface without needing the scroll bars.  However, they continue to appear, even after going into the properties of the Subvi window and turn them off.

It seems that the front panel of the VI, once having been greater, remembered its previous size even if there is more then spread the objects.  I say this because when the display on the front panel in its own window, I see unnecessary scrollbars, suggesting the same dimensions as the secondary scroll bars suggests you.  Is it possible to get a VI to reset his concept of the size of its Board before being only what is in fact currently?  Or is it possible to remove the scroll bars on a secondary, regardless of the size of the loaded VI?

I tried to use a property VI node to remove scroll bars, but if I am not mistaken, the list of property does not have scroll bars.

Is attached a screenshot of the VI main in operation and the Subvi.

You can change the visibility of the scroll bar option in the nodes property.  Attached is a code snippet that shows how to do this.

where is the field point to read and write VI in labview 2009

According to the version of LV, BT pallets can be sensitive to the context. Try to create a project and add a fieldpoint target to the project.  Right-click on the target of FP in your project and select new > vi.  Now FP functions should appear

  • Switch Executive stops working after LabVIEW 2009 installed.

I just installed LabVIEW 2009 and now Switch Executive 3.0 does not work.

NISE open session vi returns 0 instead of the valid session ID. It does now with LabVIEW 8.6.1 too.

    Everything looks OK in MAX.

    Any suggestions?

    Hi Pirkola,

I'll try to replicate that.  I understand it is a returned 0 for a session ID.  Is there an error returned as well?

  • Failed to retrieve the DIAdem DataFinder research data, using data-finder toolkit LabVIEW 2009

I am facing problem to retrieve the DIAdem Datafinder data.

At first, I developed this project in LabVIEW 2010. But because of a problem that I met in LabVIEW 2010, I thougth to work on the project in LabVIEW 2009.

Then, I reused the project that I created using LV 2010 using option economy for the previous version.

When I tried to retrieve the data from the tiara using data finder toolkit. I got a 305505 warning. Please see the attached message of Warninig.

But I have not seen this warning while I was working in LabVIEW 2010 and also, I was able to get the data from the tiara.

Please suggest me a way to solve this problem.

    Hi Nanda,
There is a bug when using the SDK use in combination with DataFinder Toolkit 2009.
This bug is already fixed in LabVIEW 2010 and use SDK 2010. But as you said there is another question in LabVIEW 2010, forcing you to LV 2009.
I suggest you use LabVIEW 2009 with use SDK 2009 and DataFinder Toolkit 2009 and instead to use the "Waveform.vi results" to read the search results, I would recommend to use the screw storage. I spread your example VI and it attached to this message. You will still see the dialog box to search for "lvStorage.dll" but it will automatically disappear and the VI works anyway because in this case LabVIEW will find the dll itself.
My extended VI uses the '_openWithRoot.vi' to open a file with a different use than CT or PDM. This VI is also described in the following knowledge base article: http://zone.ni.com/devzone/cda/epd/p/id/4181
With LabVIEW 2010 use support has been enhanced and fully integrated in the standard palette of storage screws. So in LabVIEW 2010, you can replace the "_openWithRoot.vi" with the 'Open Data Storage.vi' standard but with LabVIEW 2010, you can also use "Waveforms.vi results" to read the search results.

    I hope this helps.

    Kind regards

  • LabView 2009 Service Pack 1 does this cause a problem with the MAthScripts for lo

    All,

I just installed Service Pack 1 for Labview 2009.  All of my code that loops in my MathScripts now lets my MathScripts does not compile.  Have a clue what I do?

    Thank you

    Rich

    Windows XP (32-bit)

LabView 2009 uninstalled, reinstalled after you have removed all files related to 2009.  SP1 installed, then applied for LabView and MathScript.

  • LabVIEW 2009 Crash when record for previous

I'm having a problem when you try to save a VI in LabVIEW 2009 to a previous version of LabVIEW, in this case 8.2, but itseems crashing no matter which version I chose.  I've narrowed the problem down to this:

If the vi contains a structure of event I get the following error: unrecoverable internal error: 'MemoryManager.cpp', line 547

If I remove the structure of the event, she records very well.  I even go the error if I create a vacuum vi and drop an empty event on the diagram structure.  No control, no other code.

Is this a known issue?  Is this a problem with my copy of LV?  Is there a solution?  Removal of the structure of the event in the present application is not an option.

    Thank you

    Rob

So the solution is to save to LV 8.6, then open in 8.6 and save here to earlier versions.  It works, I have not tried to save 8.6 initially.

  • Narrow ARM of SPI VI reference works do not for me LabVIEW 2009.

I use LabVIEW 2009 Embedded for ARM in collaboration with the Council of development of LM3S8962 and the MCP3008 10 - bit ADC chip. I'm trying to use the base screws of SPI to communicate with the MCP3008 - see the attached excerpt from VI to my current attempt. I can initialize the SPI reference, read two bytes of data from the ADC, but when I try to close the reference, the application crashes. If I am the narrow ARM of SPI reference VI in a diagram to disable, the program terminates normally, and I get to see my two bytes of data printed on the OLED. Any ideas?

  • MCB2400 LabVIEW 2009 Embedded build error

    Hello

Linux crashes when I click on a constant resources VISA (block diagram) or control (front).  This happens on LabVIEW 2009 SP1 32-bit for Linux on CentOS (similar to RedHat 6.3) 6.3.  I have updated drivers VISA 5.1.2 and that did not help.  Thanks in advance for any ideas of five Linux guys out there.

  • does not by default the tab control in LabVIEW 2009

I have a tab control in my LabVIEW program. I put the default value of the three page tab control. In older versions of LabVIEW, when the program opens, it opens with the display of page three. Prefect! But now in LabVIEW 2009, it opens to 1 page view. I tried to adjust the default time and again, but it is enough to open with the display of page three. Looks like it's broken in LabVIEW 2009. (I know that I can get around that, but apparently botched when the program opens on page 1 and jerks on on page three.) And change the order of pages would break the code. I don't do that.)

To make the solution more smooth, you can uncheck see the façade when called property of vi and show it programatically after that you put on page 3.

  • In the connection wire diagram get blur while saving the VI in LabVIEW 2009

    Hello

I'm using Labview 2009, and while I'm saving a simple connection of VI son become blurred. What could be the problem? Is it affect my program during the race?

Go to tools > Options, select the diagram page and look for the section called Constant decline. If the CF for the sons of the box are checked, then this is probably the reason. You can uncheck the box, and this will not affect the way in which your code runs.

If this isn't the case, you download a picture of what it looks like.
