Boot & crashing!

My anti-virus AVG says that my PC is active. My Security Center Windows says that my AVG Malware is off [as all the others].

When I click on the "turn on Now" it does not work properly. So every morning, I get a blue screen hit in the first 5 min. to boot the system.
Strange thing is generally only blocked once, so I'm able to use my PC.
I ' v living with this problem for months and have made all sorts of attempts to go inside of it. Mr.

Fix it dosen't seem to be able to help. Can you?

  • Cannot remove Windows XP Dual Boot with Windows 7 (partition logic-bootable) (main System Partition)

When I put XP and 7 dual boot I them created on a drive with 2 partitions.  I don't have Windows XP and need space for windows 7 so I followed the instructions to remove it.  I used the Windows 7 disc in repair mode via Diskpart to delete the XP partition and (after release) change the master boot record to Windows 7 using Bootrec/fixmbr and /fixboot.  I then tried to activate Windows 7 new in Diskpart but received the error message:

The VIRTUAL DISK SERVICE ERROR - the specified partition is invalid for this operation.

It's because I had configured Windows 7 in an extended as a logical disk partition.

I had to restore from the image I had taken and copy backup my data files.  However this left me with the following configuration:

    Primary partition

C: Windows XP - local disk, system, Page File Active, primary

    Extended partition

G: Windows 7 - Local, Boot, Crash Dump, logical disk

D: programs - Local, logical disk

Files - Local, logical disk E:

Photos - Local, logical disk F:

I have EaseUS Partition Master which apparently allows me to convert drive G of elementary logic.  However he would not only because it is noted as boot drive.

How to convert G to a logical disk in a primary partition so that I can activate it?

Start Windows 7, and format the partition ON THAT XP is installed. (This assumes that XP is on the 1st partition)

Since the Windows 7 bootloader (BCD store was on the XP partition) you will need for this restore on Windows 7

  • Replacing hard drive XPS 8300

I have an internal 1.5 TB harddrive in my workstation of XPS 8300 (bought in 2012). Now, he has only 200 GB of free space. I bought a hard drive double (ST1500DM003 Seagate 1.5 TB 3.5 SATA).

Given that the new drive is twice faster (6 Gb/s with a 64 MB Cache) I want to use the new disk as my main drive (C :). I clean the current C: drive and install later as a second drive internal.

I want to clone my C: drive (which consists of three partitions: 39 MB OEM, 13.25 GB NTFS RECOVERY and 1383.98 GB NTFS Boot, Crash Dump, primary).

I have the Clonezilla Linux utility, but I don't know how to copy all three partitions on my C: drive to the new drive and still be able to boot from the new drive.

What should I do at this point?

    Regards, Chuck

I've never used clonezilla, and admittedly, it's been a while since I had to do something like this, but from my experience...

All major suppliers of HARD drive usually have a cloning solution, something they license to a company like Acronis (True Image) or Symantec (Ghost) with the restriction that they only work if one of the hard drives was manufactured by this seller. All of these programs I used, when a partitioned drive source, would give you options for:

    1. only clone a partition.
    2. all partitions to scale proportionately. (ranging from 1.5 to 3 TB to 500/500/500 GB give 1000/1000/1000 GB, yields of 500/1000, 1000/2000)
    3. manually define partitions.

If you chose option 2, everything should be good. You will download an ISO of the manufacturer and burn it to a CD. (Make sure you use "Burn Image to disk" data with the file .iso disc will not start your computer) fix the two HARD drives on the motherboard and the power and boot from the CD in F12 menu. Once you have cloned the drive, remove the original (Source) disk and check the new boot disk. (if the cloning was successful it will be)

At this point, you can delete the old drive, (make sure that you wipe the right pair!) re - partition and install it as a data reader. I would recommend using disk management to assign the data drive partition a drive letter fixed, just to ensure that it will not change if your optical drive turn off or something.

  • iMac, boots on the desk and then immediately crashes on the color wheel

Thanks for taking a peek at my question.

When I boot my iMac, everything starts up fine in the beginning - he's going right on the desktop, the mouse moves around and, if I'm quick, I can even click on 1 maybe 2 things until the computer completely locks the spinning wheel of death color.  I can still move the wheel on the screen with no latency, but I can't do anything in fact.  Typing on the keyboard does nothing, although the caps lock key will light up.  Boot in safe mode produces exactly the same results, except that it asks me to log in first.

Something must be start I need to get rid of, although I not much to install on this computer and rarely changes (it is a demo machine that lives in a small computer lab that I managed, off-grid). I never had any problems with it, then one day, this problem started.  Maybe I ran an update of the OS and that caused his crash?

I am very familiar with troubleshooting a Windows computer, but Mac does not really offer many intuitive troubleshooting options, IMO.  This seems to be a fairly simple matter to reslolve, but my research online have not produced results - people seem to suggest the safe mode and command line solutions, but safe mode doesn't change anything and I can obviously not open a command line to type anything.

The iMac was bought to 2010 and I'm 99% sure there Yosemite installed, but unfortunately I have no way to be able to check at the moment.

    Any help welcome, thanks!

Start of recovery volume (command - R on a restart, or hold down the option/Alt during a restart and select the Volume of recovery). Run the check/repair disk utility and repair permissions until you get no error. Then re-install the operating system.

  • Audio interface Thunderbolt to crash Windows Boot Camp

Hello, my audio interface crashes Windows Boot Camp on my MBP 15 "retina. It works very well on the side of the BONE. I've updated everything (including the drivers and firmware for the device). The audio interface is the MOTU 828 x. It is designed for use with Windows via TB - my concern is that this does not mean Boot Camp Windows

When I turn on the device, Windows crashes immediately on a blue screen saying: "your PC has encountered a problem and needs to restart...» PNP_DETECTED_FATAL_ERROR ". I tried all combinations of plug etc. aside first turned off, turned on mac.

Thanks for any help or ideas!

  • Mac crashes after trying to drive from the Boot Camp partition

    Hi all

Let me start of by saying I am new to Apple computers and I mainly used Windows or Linux operating systems.  Let me describe the problem.

One of my friends asked me to install Windows on their mac, after running Boot Camp by selecting my ISO, and allocation of 32 gigabytes for the Windows partition, it started downloading the required software.  After completing download he began to partition the hard drive, about 15 to 30 seconds in partitioning computer crashed.  When I turned the computer on the partition was gone and the usable space was smaller.  After looking around on the forms, I found a solution using the command:

    diskutil repairDisk disk0

It restored the main partition to its original size.  I've not run Boot Camp once again because I'm afraid it will crash everything simply.  I found the error report and I'll it paste it here:

    Hello

In this case, you can try the following method.

Download the file to Image of Windows 8 on the following link - Note that this Image file is subject to a ceiling of download, you may need to try over a period of a few hours before the download starts correctly.

    https://docs.Google.com/file/d/0B0W9PBigPy94aVJWSndyTFNFMzg/edit?PLI=1

Use an app like ImgBurn ( Note: you can deselect additional software during installation of ImgBurn offerings) to burn the ISO correctly on a blank DVD - a guide on the use of ImgBurn to write an ISO on a disc is here.

If you instead create a flashdrive bootable for this Image, try the free app below.

    http://Rufus.AKEO.IE/

The product key for Windows 8 is encrypted in your bios chip and read automatically during installation.

Other software and drivers you need can be found here.

  • my XP is not booting (white screen) and crashes at isapnp.sys then in safe mode.

My XP Home Edition is not booting (white screen) and crashes at isapnp.sys then in safe mode. Please help as soon as possible because I need this platform for school!

What is your system brand and model?

Describe your current antivirus and software anti malware situation: McAfee, Symantec, Norton, Spybot, AVG, Avira!, MSE, Panda, Trend Micro, CA, Defender, ZoneAlarm, PC Tools, Comodo, etc..

The afflicted system has a CD/DVD drive work?

You have a true bootable XP installation CD (it is not the same as any recovery CD provided with your system)?

The symptom often means that your system is of a malicious software.

With this particular symptom of hanging on isapnp.sys in Mode safe is to search for a driver of zero-byte length file in the c:\windows\system32\drivers folder.

Of course, you have to boot the system on something in order to access the hard drive to find the suspicious file and get rid of it.

If you have any installation CD bootable XP real where you start in the XP Recovery Console, or you are not sure what type of bootable CD, you have,
make a CD of bootable XP Recovery Console or Hiren Boot CD and don't forget.

There is no XP media needed to make a Hiren Boot CD or a bootable XP Recovery Console.  You can access the folder and check if
There is this action suspect file and take.

Once you're booted to the CD of your choice, navigate to the following folder (assuming that XP is installed on your C volume):

    c:\Windows\System32\Drivers

Looking for a file that ends with an extension .sys and zero bytes in length.  The file can also have a curious name because she may have been generated at random.

If you are in the XP Recovery Console, issue the following command in the c:\windows\system32\drivers folder:

    dir *.sys

Files Scrolls one screen at a time.  Look at the list of files with .sys extensions and their lengths.  You don't need to
worry about directories...  If you see a file with a .sys extension which is zero byte, it is suspect.

If you use just the Mini XP Mode a Hiren boot CD (which works as Office XP), navigate to the folder of the my
Computer desktop icon and locates the suspect files.

You really want to remove the suspicious file once you get running and you run some scans for malware, but if you are
not sure what is the suspicious file or if it might be necessary, just rename the suspicious file for now, in case you are not sure.

For example, if you find zigxrtml.sys folder had a length of zero byte, rename it:

    Rename zigxrtml.sys zigxrtml.bad

Renaming or removing the suspicious file to get the system running is not resolved the problem.  It is the symptom of the problem.

The problem is your system is infected by malicious software and you should always follow up with a few scans to remove infections.

Once your system is running, followed with MBAM and SAS to be sure that the affliction has really been removed.

Reduce the risk of malware by running some scans.

Download, install, update and do a full scan with these free malware detection programs can solve any problems:

    Malwarebytes (MMFA): http://malwarebytes.org/
    SUPERAntiSpyware: (SAS): http://www.superantispyware.com/

It can be uninstalled later if you wish.

The scans by operating clean, restart, test your task manager and we can repair any other pending issues.

Do, or do not. There is no test.

I worked on the machine to get to start XP. Sometimes it will boot in Safe Mode, but most of the time (and when it does not start in 'normal' mode), it crashes with a blue screen. The blue screen flashes fast to read, and then the machine tries to restart.
Once I do start safe mode and got WIndows update but can't update due to the update that needs to be in normal mode.
I was able to install Malwarebytes and a full scan. Also installed Spybot S & D and performed a full scan.

The night last update (May 11) caused my system to crash after re-booting. There were 4 updates that have been selected.  I've disabled the automatic update (will always to down load) and hidden updates (KB905866, KB890830, KB2509470, KB2536413). Otherwise, someone with this problem and know who is "bad"?

  • system crashed, I need to select the first boot device in the boot menu...

my computer crashed and has a black screen I have reboot by pressing F8 and then to the start menu

    +

Hello, thank you for using the Microsoft forums!

What happened when you "press f8 and went into the start menu. ?  You should have seen the inscription as:

'safe mode', "safe mode with networking", "last known good", etc. etc.  In these situations, it depends on what the computer or the user was doing when the computer crashed, what the line of resolution would result. Just from the top, select Safe mode and try to start.  If windows starts, there are probably a problem with drivers not loaded through a secure boot which only loads the windows drivers of base needed for windows open and run in a limited mode. While in safe mode, we will offer you the choice to use the SYSTEM RESTORE to restore your computer to an earlier point in time where everything worked well. In unknown situations, when I'm in front of a computer when you know not what caused the accident, I take a point of restoring older and not the most recent one, preferably a machine made on its own schedule, not a constraint by a device or driver installation. Note that a SafeMode restore is not generally reversible, i.e. canoe must be cancelled at the point before the restoration (in this case, the condition has crashed), yet other points before and after can be subsequently used.

Once you have done this, or even before, if you would not rather try this again, you can use Event Viewer to try to find out what happened before the crash. Check the system and application logs, for the latest entries and repost here about this if you need help with the content of the newspapers, and we will try to help you. Alternatively, if you get it running, then you can visit this site to help you with additional questions. This is the new, free and fully automated from MICROSOFT support portal, and it can help you with most of the problems windows with a few mouse clicks.
