Boot failure after automatic security updates
This problem occurred with up-to-date security automated earlier in January and last night (31-Jan/1 Feb.)
Dell Inspiron 545 (1 year old), 8 GB RAM, Win7 Home Premium (box special store.)
Shut down the PC, gave the message "do not turn off your PC - turns off automatically when finished. After morning Windows does not start. The PC runs through its BIOS stuff, fails to boot from the hard drive, then switch mode 'Boot from CD '. Turn off and restart the same results.
Finally I got in the BIOS boot menu and re-selected "boot from HDD" - which got in the Windows boot.
Note: some differences this time last time - I think earlier in January it tried to boot from the hard drive after several attempts to stop, a halfway in when Windows starts, and then could not go ahead. Finally, he successful well.
Let's see what updates are installed, Haggis1. I guess that the Dell start Windows normal mode now, correct?
Click on the round of departure, in the field type search programs and files in update
Under programs, click Windows Update
Click on the link to view update history.
The installed updates "both earlier in January and last night (31-Jan/1 Feb.)?
Please, note the number of each of them and post back with them.

Click on the arrow at the top left of the window.

Vista - boot failure after installing Windows updates
Hi, I use windows vista and for the last two days every time I shut down my computer, load 16 updates. Then when I restart my computer, it will start up repair and system restore. It would seem that these updates are causing a problem launching. 4 are the updates for office 2007, so I don't think it's one of those at the origin of the problem, but the other 12 are related to questions of security and authentication with vista and I suspect this is one of them. (4) delete C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution directory of the Windows folder
5) go to the Windows Update site and search for updates
(6) once he finds all the updates, go to the list and hide KB2360131
(7) install the rest
It will be useful.

boot failure after upgrade to Windows 7
Had problems with the commissioning on a Windows 7 Home premium based computer laptop HP after the latest updates of nights. I can see the Logo screen for a second, the computer shuts down completely. I tried pressing the F2 key with no result. The systems dvd in the drive at startup does not alter at all. What can I do?
Hello
· Were you able to boot to the desktop after the update?
· Have you received an error message while you were trying to install updates?
I suggest you to start in safe mode and then perform system restore to a date where the system worked very well.
To start in safe mode follow the link below:
http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/start-your-computer-in-safe-mode
Once you start using safe run System Restore to perform a restore of the system follow the article below:
http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/what-is-system-restore
You can also try to start WINRE (Windows Recovery Environment) and try the system restore in case you are not able to boot in SafeMode as well.
To start WINRE following the link below:

SBS 2011 Unmountable Boot Volume after a windows update
Server crash after a windows update. I don't know what update, it was 8. Seemed to have completed successfully. I restarted as requested. After the restart, he came and said configuration of updates, 100% done and restarted again. This time, no matter what I do, safemode, networking, last known, all get the blue screen. I tried to enter in the system recovery options to run a chkdsk /R and partition table repair and run fixboot, but when I get the drivers screen charge, I have all the drivers I can find for my raid controller. Found 8 of them. All of them seem to be add the driver, but in the end, the system will not respond.
The system is a HP Proliant ML150G6 and card Raid is a HP Smart Array b110i. RAID and discs all show 100% health. It is a medical office, 5 days old backup, so we're a little desperate.
This issue is beyond the scope of this site (for consumers) and to be sure, you get the best (and fastest) reply, we have to ask either on Technet (for IT Pro) or MSDN (for developers)* -

Boot failure after update BIOS on T110ii
I've just updated my BIOS on my T110ii (from 1.1.1 2.8.0) (because I've been doing a few crashes which must be fixed by firmware updates intel).
However, after the update, it does not start and displays the seeing '3' with no output vga or ipmi diagnostic.
The sequence is:
* 3 diagnostic lights
For a few moments 1 and 4 light as well, and fan goes to rpm max
* Then only 3 stays on and the indicator of the health of the system flashes orange.
The documentation suggests it is failure of CPU, but this seems very unlikely given that it was before the update of the BIOS.
I tried to clear the NVRAM and disconnect everything I can from the motherboard, but it does not help.
Is there anything else I can try?
Are there known issues with the upgrade from 1.1.1 to 2.8.0? (I couldn't see everything in the documentation).
I found some other threads where people have had systems that no longer start after updating the bios, so I wonder if there is an underlying problem.
JimmyHo.
The question wasn't just update the BIOS, it is to jump from a large number of updates. The people you see have reported the update problems that were often due to jump a lot of updates, including updates listed as Urgent. As each of the updates to the BIOS relies on the last, jump if you can lose substantial parts updates of BIOS. With going from 1.1.1 2.8.0 that you jumped 11 or 12 updates, so unfortunately it seems that the BIOS is now corrupt, which would require to replace the motherboard.
I would like to know if this helps, although it is not what you were eager to hear.

NourHello
Hmmm what to say. Sounds not good and in my opinion, looks like you have successfully updated the laptop computer with a bad BIOS or something went wrong during the BIOS update process
Are you sure you used the right BIOS of 110%?It seems that you will not be able to fix this problem yourself, without any additional help from the laptop technician.
In most cases, the BIOS has to be flashed again on the particular wayFor me it s clear, you will need to contact the ASP to get rid of this problem
Best regards and good luck

I recently enabled Microsoft Update for my XP Media Edition 2004 after his being unavailable for a year due to corruption Trojan. The solution that worked there was rename the CATROOT2 folder and the SofwareDistribution folder in the Windows directory in the Windows > System32 directory and reboot. This solution came from the Microsoft site. After that, I was able to download and install 50 of 51 updates. A fails repeatedly: update for Windows XP (KB2686509) security. I get error code 0 x 8007005. I tried several fixes, including one designated for error 0 x 8007003 (rename file) download at download.old as well as the use of aggressive mode on Microsoft Fixit. Always fails to update. All other updates installed correctly, including a new this morning, but of course update continues offering that failed. Any ideas on how to get this installed? This is a relatively new, so I'm not sure that the problem is that it is already there, but the first failure was around 40 of the 51 when I check the history update file. Thanks for your suggestions.
