I would use one of the Mavericks on an iMac v10.9 Mavericks running.

Yes. InEl Capitan I created successfully using this Terminal command

sudo/Applications/Install\ OS\ X\ El\ Capitan.app/Contents/Resources/createinstallmedia--volume/Volumes/Untitled--applicationpath Applications / Install\ OS\ El\ Capitan .app X\ - nointeraction

and in Yosemite, created using

sudo/Applications/Install\ OS\ X\ Yosemite.app/Contents/Resources/createinstallmedia--volume/Volumes/Untitled--applicationpath Applications / Install\ OS\ X\ Yosemite .app - nointeraction

    First, review this introductory article: creating a Setup program bootable OS X Mavericks or Yosemite - Apple Support. Second, see this diagram how to create an El Capitan bootable Installer.     Drive partition and format

    1. Open utility disk from the Applications\utilitaires folder.
    2. After disk utility charges select the drive (entrance Out-bumpy with of the mfgr.) ID and size) in the list to one side.
    3. Click clear in the utility disc toolbar. Name of the player, "MyVolume". <-IMPORTANT!
    4. In the Group dropdown set the GUID partition scheme. Define the type of Format Mac OS extended (journaled).

    6. Quit disk utility.

    Create the installation program

    Open the Terminal in the Utilities folder. Choose according to the command line appropriate (in red) on the OS X installer you want. Paste this entire command line by underneath at the Terminal prompt:

    Order for macOS Sierra:

    sudo/Applications/Install\ macOS\ Sierra.app/Contents/Resources/createinstallmedia--volume/Volumes/MyV--applicationpath/Applications/Install\ macOS\ Sierra.app

    Order for El Capitan:

    sudo/Applications/Install\ OS\ El\ Capitan.app/Contents/Resources/createinstallmedia--volume/Volumes/MyVolume--applicationpath/Applications/Install\ OS\ El\ Capitan.app X\ X\

    Order for Yosemite:

    Control of Mavericks:

    Press RETURN. You will be asked your admin password. It won't echo on the Terminal window. Press RETURN again. Wait for the prompt to the Terminal, meaning that the process is complete. It takes a while to complete. Be patient.

  • Probably two stupid installation questions...

    I just do a fresh install of El Cap on an SSD in my Mac Pro being initialized in another installation of El Cap (on a HARD drive).

    For various reasons, I had to run the installation program via an ethernet cable from my Macbook because was unable to download the Setup program when you start installing OSX on the HARD drive.

    I ran the installer and then came a prompt that the Mac Pro could restart 29 s so I pressed restart.

    Then the screen went black and a cone appeared.

    The spinner was there for probably 30 minutes before I pressed the power button to force a stop down.

    I installed El Cap several times before but never seen this behavior.

    When I pressed the power button again, the normal gray screen appeared and showed a bar countdown the minutes of progression

    And then I was able to complete the installation by entering the AppleID, etc..

    My two questions are 1) if installing from the Macbook could cause trouble? And (2) if I could have messed up anything forcing the closure downwards?

    I had happen in the past (2 or 3 times that I can remember) after installation with no adverse reactions.

    (1) no comments because I don't know

    (2) I doubt it, but it is still possible. If the system works as it should with no quirks, I guess everything was fine

    When I try to create an installation program for El Capitan bootable on a new MacBook Pro (A1278) in November 2015 using the string SUDO included in

    HT201372: Create a bootable OS x Installer, I get an immediate failure with the answer "sudo: failed to initialize the PAM: no such file or directory." Diskmaker X loops on it and runs into the same answer of the problem.  Is there a solution or the solution to this problem?

    If you do not already have a current backup, please backup all data, and then reinstall the OS. * you don't need to erase the boot volume, and you won't need the backup unless something is wrong. If the system has been upgraded an earlier version of Mac OS X, you may need to the Apple ID and password to use.

    There are ways to back up a computer that is not fully functional. Ask if you need advice.

    If you installed the runtime Java distributed by Apple, and still need, you will need to reinstall it. It goes the same for Xcode. All other data will be preserved.

    Related support article refers to OS X 10.11 ("El Capitan"), but the procedure is the same for OS X 10.7 ("Lion") and later versions.

    The question, I got here is that the ODI Agent does not work and more I didn't know the FOLDER Structure of the AGENT under the Oracledi folder. I also found OraclParams.bat file.

    Can you advise why this is different from the ODI 11.1.1.5 version please?

    (3) also, when I test the ODI_Agent; getitng the below error:

  • OfficeJet 8600 more - Installation questions and gel

    This unit has been installed and functional for since December. The main computer is connected via a USB cable. Other computers using the wireless feature. Now, nothing works. I uninstalled and reinstalled the printer several times during the last three hours. This was done using the installation CD and also download the drivers/installation on HP website. I also tried to install just by pluggin installed in the unit. Nothing has worked. I tried then connected to the router and go wireless alone. A couple of times showed the Panel of the connected printer. However the blue light continues to blink and nothing has worked. When installing via the USB cable, it showed "USB storage device" failed. Most often, he showed the printer as printer FAX 8600. I do not use or want to fax. The scan function has never worked. When the device is blocked, the only cure is to unplug the power supply. Any suggestion is appreciated.

    I apologize if this is the wrong community asking these questions in. I thought that the community of vSphere to be the most appropriate, but there is no category generic vSphere. The General category of vCenter Server was appropriate.

    Our company is buying some matΘriel for vSphere 4. The cost to buy the Essentials most of vSphere bundle 4 we have budgeted ($5000) but I'm sure I can convince our Exec team to approve the purchase of vSphere 4 Advanced Acceleration Kit ($17000) once I showed them vMotion Live Migration and fault tolerance. That being said, I'm still new to vmWare and need a little advice products. Here are some questions I have.

    (1) my plan is to have the three physical hosts start their ESX/ESXi installation off our iSCSI SAN to avoid having to have local storage on each server. It presents an acceptable practice or if this is not preferred? Is there any loss of performance when the servers are running? Your advice here would be greatly appreciated.

    (2) I understand that I can choose between ESX and ESXi in my installation. I was under the assumption that ESXi is more than a low-end product (so the free version) however I read on VMware.com ESXi is the product preferred for new installations and ESX is available for legacy add-on products. Is this correct? Should I go with ESXi for three servers?

    (3) where vCenter Server move? It works on one of my three physical servers or need an additional server. I have no experience with vCenter Server, so I have no idea on this one.

    (4) would it be appropriate to install local disks on each server for the paging or swap file?

    (5) I'll buy Veeam Backup & Replication for backup. Does make a difference on the weather, I chose ESX or ESXi?

    You're right - if vcenter is down FT stops - but isn't that a problem is the first defective virtual machine at the same time.

  • Work records and other installation questions

    Hello, I am a user of long date first but have never been involved in the installation program. I decided to start making a personal video editing on my gaming computer and met with a few questions.

    The biggest one I have is with the work disk configuration. I read the help doc about 10 times and google all combinations of words I can think, but I'm still not sure how should I configure these for my setup.

    I have the first Pro CS5 installed on my C:, which is a 128 GB SSD

    For storage, I have 4 1 than to disks in Raid 5, yes 2.72 TB of total storage.

    How I want to configure my "scratch disks" for the best possible performance?

    Question 2: It could be linked to the work disk configuration, I'm not sure, but something that I've always wondered. What disk does save my projects to in this configuration? Is how important it? Then, I want to make my final video in this same folder or on another drive?

    Question 3: I a currently GTX 460 graphics card and enjoy benefits of CUDA acceleration. I have looked at adding a second in SLI for games purposes, but have read that the Mercury playback engine is not compatible with SLI. Does this mean that it will still work with a single card and I see no advantage in the first, or all CUDA acceration will cease?

    First of all, SLI is not supported by PrPro, so it will do you no good and may well get in the way.

    You have only two HARD drives, SSD and RAID, so you don't have much choice there.

    Given the configuration of your I/O, I wouldn't worry about the ultimate in performance and just locate your assets, your projects and your Scratch disks on the RAID.

    In a more perfect world, I would say to separate the assets of the project, but it would mean another HARD drive (actually a good supplement, as a configuration 3 x is better than a configuration of 2 x).

    The foregoing has one drawback - household later. I create a new folder for all projects and locate my disks scratch that.     Apparently, we are called to install both.
    I downloaded the latest driver only and installed without any problems. I have not installed the .inf file.

    What is the .inf file for and WHAT happens if you install so?
    If I have to install it, how to do?

    Can I install the INF file first or the driver?

    Is it possible to just install the driver and ignore the inf file?
    heard of people having all kinds of problems with the INF mod. I use Windows 7 64-bit on a 770 X.

    just get the ones from nvidia (the new beta version), they work fine

    I get an error message when I try to install new hardware on my laptop. Windows XP is trying to find the drivers and then comes up with the following error after a few minutes. The software starts to install but then comes with the following text:

    These data are incorrect

    What happened with a USB card reader and my mobile. Once I have the error box I get a message saying that the device will not work properly?

    I'm upgraded memory in my laptop of buddies, but for all intensive purposes, it will be here on out considered a mine.

    The L35 unknown for me. It seems to be a series of laptop designed for the American market.
    But the L30 is known to me and I know the L30 is very similar to the L35.

    However, the point is that the RAM can be upgraded only up to 2GB.
    This means that you can use a 1 GB module in a slot.
    A upper memory module size is not supported by the memory locations and therefore the laptop shows about 1.87 GB RAM.

    Cant 'Partition' this. It is surprising to the Partition button is disabled . Only "Mount" and "partition" buttons are disabled. but 'First aid' & 'Clear' is enabled.
    Just unpacked new 16 GB USB3 drive get ready. (Updated to OS from Yosemite to El Capitan 10.11.2 and yesterday I could use the "Partition" command for internal MacHD & created test drive encrypted partition 50 GB)

    I want to do a clean installation fees, so I wanted to create this boot ext backup disk before deleting the disk macHD internal.

    Erase the disk via disk utility and then partition the system - regardless of the current format was used at the plant probably lack the TPG structures which should.  Does erase everything on the drive, so be sure that there is nothing on the disk you need.
