You are able to connect to the Internet?

I suggest you to uninstall and reinstall the software and the driver for the network adapter and check if it helps.

You can follow the steps to uninstall the software to map network of programs and features:

Note: make sure you have the configuration file for the network card software before uninstalling.

(a) affects Windows and X set and select Control Panel.
(b) click on programs and features.
(c) locate the network software. Double click on the software and follow the instructions on the screen to uninstall the software.
(d) search configuration for the software file and double-click on it to reinstall the software.

Alternatively, you can follow the steps to uninstall and reinstall the network adapter driver:

Note: Make sure you have the configuration file for the latest network card driver before you uninstall the current version:

(a) affects Windows and X set and click on Device Manager.
(b) find the network card and expand the driver icon.
(c) make a right click on the driver icon, then select Uninstall.
(d) follow the instructions on the screen to uninstall the driver.
(e) to search for an installation of the network adapter driver file and double-click it. Follow the on-screen instructions to reinstall the driver.

Every hour or two iTunes for Mac displays a modal dialog box with the error 'we could not complete your iTunes Store request. The network connection timed out. "This interrupts any activity like playing airplay or order with the Remote App on iOS.

I can identify no problems of networks. If I go to the iTunes Store deliberately I have no problem. I have no download waiting on the iTunes store. I try not to buy anything from the iTunes Store. I have no reason to connect to the iTunes Store.

There is no update unapplied for iTunes. There is no update unapplied for Mac OS X. There is no update unapplied for my router. There is no network connection problem to any site I found.

I can't find all the messages that allow me to debug this problem. The support page to If you can not connect to the iTunes Store - Apple supported provides no useful information.

What this error message should tell me? What problem I actually feel?

I noticed that sometimes.  I just quit iTunes and restart.  The problem reoccur not (until it is once again).  But for me, it's months between occurrences.

  • Re: The network connection to the printer has been lost.

I'm having the same problem with a HO Photosmart 5520 and win 10. The solution to this annoying problem is far too complex and time consuming. Instead, it should be an option just to cut the sound notificaiotn.

Welcome to the HP community @janhoza!

I came across your post regarding your printer lost network connection and wanted to pop in to help.

Through your message, we don't have the option to disable the notification. But I think that we can solve this problem by simply assigning a static IP address. Here are the steps:

    • Get the IP address of the printer, you can touch the 'Wireless' icon on the Control Panel printer to get the IP address.
    • Type the IP address in your web browser to get the EWS page on your computer printer.
    • Go to the 'Network' tab - click on "wireless (802.11), and then click «network address (IPv4)»»
    • Click on the box that says "Manual IP", then click "Propose an IP address manually" to give an IP address manually to your printer.
    • Click on the radio button that says 'Manual of the DNS server' and under manual type favorite 8.8.8.8 and manual replacement enter 8.8.4.4 (it is Google's DNS server address)

Let me know if this helps. Good luck!

    See you soon

Please click on 'acceptable' on the post that solves your problem to help others to find the solution. To show gratitude for my help, please click the 'Thumbs Up icon' below!

    Cannot print wireless

I can't print due to the "wireless network connection" doesn't have a valid IP address.  How can I fix this problem myself (an absolute non-techie)?

    Hello

-Did you change your computer, after which the question began?
-Check if you are connected to the network?

The question seems more like a network connection problem. I would like you to do the following.

Method 1: run the Network Troubleshooter utility and see if the problem persists.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/using-the-network-troubleshooter-in-Windows-7

Method 2: release and renew the IP (Internet Protocol) address and see if the problem persists.

has. click Start. Type cmd in the search box and press ENTER.
    b. at the command prompt, type the following command and press ENTER:
ipconfig/all (there is a space between ipconfig and /)
The command ipconfig/all command displays for all your network adapters, TCP/IP in Windows settings.

If your IP address of your Local network connection is 0.0.0.0 or 169.x.x.x (where x is a number any), then your computer is not getting an IP address from the router.
If this is the case, try this:
    ·        enough ipconfig at the command prompt and press ENTER
    ·        ipconfig / renew in the command prompt and press ENTER

    Method 3:

    Network printer problems

Note: The steps also apply to Windows 7.

  • "Unknown error" whenever I try to access the properties of the network connection

    Hi all

whenever I try to access the properties of a network connection (e.g. via right click on 'Network'-> properties-> right click on a connection-> properties), type of connection according to what is, I get a message "Unknown error" box and I can't move forward.

As a result, any setting of any network connection is not editable, more. For example, I wanted to force the IP of the local network of "assigned to DHCP" to "static" with an address fixed IP, but I can't.

Another weird thing is that I even can't delete one of the existing network connections, even if there are a couple that are not in use for a long time...

It should be noted that, apart from that, the network of connections work.

What can cause this behavior, and that might be the way to solve the problem?

I want to upgrade the system to SP3 but I am reluctant to take the plunge with such an "alive"... error
As you may have already guessed, the system is running XP SP2.

    Thanks in advance,

    Concerning

Yes, I am facing the same problem too. The error message says "an unexpected error has occurred." This problem started out with me a few weeks back and I was under the assumption that it was due to a virus attack. But even after a thorough cleaning session problem continues to exist.

The problem - as mentioned above by the Bell, we can neither open the properties of a connection (i.e. Dial-up/LAN/WLAN), or remove or add a new connection. If you try to open the connection properties, all you get is the message "an unexpected error has occurred" and if you try to delete or add a connection - the system does not respond!

Surely, this link worked for me. I hope it works for you Bell. Check it out.

  • What are the 'elements' in a network connection settings (for example, 'client for microsoft networks') and which should I check?

the termonology throws me, so keep it simple please. BUT I'm just checking my NETWORK CONNECTIONS and when I discover the properties of parameters / the window will appear which indicates the items that you can check or uncheck.

'the clients for microsoft networks '.

"file and printer sharing for microsoft networks".

    "QoS Packet Scheduler"

    "internet protocol (tcp/ipi).

I can't seem to find the info on what they are and why I need one any of them checked, info by simple description is. I am just a computer and I mainly use a cable (ethernet?) a domestic device (modem?) that gives me access to the internet. So all the jargon on the networks and sharing are confusing. I unchecked 'file and printer sharing for microsoft networks' because it is based on the brief description I guess it's for some sort of office network (or other) computers? Finally, everything seems to work with that uncontrolled. I also disabled everything and I would not be able to connect to the internet, so I conclude at least some of them are essential for the connection to the internet anyway.

A link would be well as long is it centered on my query mentioned and SINGLE [!]. Thank you.

PS my interest is safety! I don't want to open doors that do not need to be open.

question side: why I can't copy this? would it because I have disabled 'file and printer sharing... ". » ? I can copy the text elsewhere although [?].

I've never paid much attention to the QoS, but as far as I KNOW, there isn't any kind of security risk.

There is a lot of information and misinformation about the QoS on the Internet connections, and I'm not an expert on this subject.

From what I understand, if you have a single computer connected to the Internet you won't probably no difference if this box is checked or not.

I was struggling for the last 2 weeks with my ip address does not change do not. I've been in contact with my ISP technology support and we found the network connections is locked. When I click on the Connect box icon nothing happens. When I right click the icon and select the State that nothing happens. I can't access one of the parameters. so I uninstalled and reinstalled it and its doing the same thing. I have 2 computers hooked up to the same modem and they another computer's network connections works when I click on the link, it opens a connection status window box. so, how can I unlock or whatever to make it work again? I tried everything I can think of. I have internet access and can get online.

This problem was caused by a Trojan virus. It spread across my operating system. I had to use a hard drive cleaner and completely erase the hard drive. That took five days to do. When he finally finished, I reinstalled Windows XP. My ISP Bright House gave me another modem, with its own security and firewall so that it will not happen again.

Thank you very much for the help.

  • Why is it so my network connection icon appear in the status bar in Win XP (anthing until 2 minutes)?

At startup, sometimes the network connection icon in my taskbar pretty quickly (30 seconds). It takes about 2 months and then suddenly the icon will take whatever it is 2 minutes to appear for a month or two, and then it will return to normal.

Can you tell me why this should be?   And I can do to stop what is happening?  It is VERY frustrating!

    HI Johnboy1935,

    1. did you of recent changes on the computer?

    2. do you have security software installed on the computer?

It is possible that some third-party programs installed on the computer is causing the problem.

I suggest that you put the computer in a clean boot state and check if it helps.

To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows XP by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

See the link below to learn more about how to clean boot.

  • Wireless networks icon disappeared in network connections

I ran a software malware recommended by my administrator (Verizon) internet agent after a long period of trouble connecting to the wireless router. After telling it to remove the files mentioned, I'll be back to see the wireless icon is missing under network connections in the Control Panel. No idea what happened to her. Now, I can not access the router somehow. What can I return this icon of wireless networks. ?

I do not think that you do not forget the files that you have deleted or 'malware software' you used?

I would like to start by uninstalling and reinstalling your wireless adapter.

If you have an external wifi adapter, go to the manufacturer Web site and download the latest driver for it.

If you have an internal wifi adaptor (probably in laptops), go to the computer manufacturer's website and download the latest driver for your wireless card.  Most computer manufacturers provide a link for the correct driver after you identify the specific model of your computer (in the case of Dell, use the "Service Tag").

Save the driver a place that you will be able to find (on a USB flash drive if you have used another computer)

Open the Device Manager (start > run > devmgmt.msc > OK)
Expand the "Network adapters" category by clicking on the +.
Right-click on the entry of your wireless adapter and choose uninstall.
OK, go out of your way and restart.

If the Add New Hardware Wizard does not open when Windows reboots and detects the device, go back to Device Manager, right click on the entry of the wifi adapter and select Update driver
On the Hardware Update Wizard screen, don't let it connect to Windows Update, but select "Install from a list or specific location."
Click 'Search for the best driver' and also 'include this location '.  Click on the "Browse" button and navigate to the folder where you saved the downloaded driver (unpacked already, if you downloaded in compressed form).  Make sure you select the subfolder WinXP (or a similar name).
Click next and the adapter must install.

Assuming that the above results in an icon for your adapter in network connections wireless, there is more to do.

Right click on the network connections icon, then select Properties.

Make sure that shows the 'General tab '.
In the box under "this connection uses the following items", you should have 4 entries:
    Microsoft Networks client {needed}
    {Required} (TCP/IP) Internet Protocol
    Sharing files and printers for Microsoft Networks {necessary if you want to be able to share files and printers}
{Optional, but usually present} QoS Packet Scheduler

If these elements are not in the list, make sure, using the install and following dialogs.

In the wireless network properties dialog boxes, click the tab 'wireless networks '.
Make sure the box to "use Windows to configure my wireless" is checked unless you have the utility of the manufacturer do this work.
    OK your way out
