  For a mac for optimum operation, you need a apple ID (to download apps and updates on the app store).

  If your mac asks you a password at startup upward, you must return it to the store you bought it and ask to remove it.

  I understand with El Capitan, you must rely on the power switch to wake up from a deep sleep, but unless I hold it long enough to do a force quit and restart, I can't wake the computer. I use version 10.11.2

  Check your Applications folder.  If you see the OS X Installer, send to the trash, and then start the download again.

  I could not import new images into Lightroom 5 on a brand new Macbook Pro.  Lightroom 4 works fine, but the new Creative Cloud Lightroom 5 says that the images are unreadable.  The folks at Adobe have yet to be able to understand by phone and I find myself waiting for too long.  The images will be important in IPhoto so no problem.   You must check in the Finder using get info (command-I). Make sure that the destination you set in Lightroom has permission to write to you. Also check that the destination is really in the right place and not trying to write to a folder root on your main hard drive or something like double.

  I'm running on an end 2013 15 "MBP retina with 2.3 GHz Intel Core i7 and NVIDIA GeForce GT 750 M. I checked the compatiable for first Pro CC graphics cards, and the GT 750 M is listed as an acceptable. I did a lot of digging and can't find a solution anywhere. Can someone please?

  I solved this problem on my system by adding "read & write" permission for all of the Users/myusername/Library/preferences/Adobe folder and all its subfolders.

  I have a brand new MacBook Pro and I am trying to install a program of Real Networks, called rinse (clean up your iTunes).  Rinsing the system, I get a message that says that the program requires Adobe Air and I will need to download and install it.  I downloaded the Adobe Air Installer on the Adobe site, but when I go to install, no longer does anything - or it gives me an error message that I need Adobe Air to install Adobe Air (no sense).  Specifically, I get the following message:

  I found the right answer, thank God.  Had trouble with this for a week.

  The Cinema Display isn't a Retina display, so it will not show HiDPI resolutions. But it will work fine with your new machine.

I started at about 7:15 this morning and quickly downloading up to 85% of the program.  He is now 85 percent since then and the "time remaining" slowly went from 6 minutes to reaminig now 40 minutes to download. It is now just after 11 hours.  Is this normal or is - this program does not download properly?

  It is not downloading correctly which is dependent on your internet connection, not what programs you have running.
