Bridge & Cache errors - CS4

I get errors when I run the said bridge 'bridge has encountered a problem and cannot read the cache. Please try to purge central cache in the Cache preferences to correct the situation. "

I clear the cache, but the message comes back. I tried to delete the file from Bridge preferences, but continues still to be.

No doubt, it's something wrong on my computer. Always seems to be the case when I post a problem. But I thought I'd post just in case there is a solution.

Mac G5 Quad - OS 10.4.11 - 12 GB of RAM - 2 internal drives of TB with enough free space

Thought of adding a note: it may be appropriate to mention that I also use Lightroom 2 on this configuration, just in case the two programs are contradictory.

If purge the official way cache does not resolve the cache problem then temporarily move the cache of your bridge out of his normal home is worth a try. If nothing else it will tell you if it is the cache at fault or not. The folder that you want to move is Bridge CS4 and all the subfolders it contains. This folder is located in Users/username/Library/Caches/Adobe /. When you move the folder and bridge to relaunch a completely new cache will be generated from scratch. If this procedure corrects the problem, you ready to go again, but if she is not simply to remove the new Bridge CS4 folder, and then drag the old version back.

  • Bridge CS5 with CS4 files cache problem

If I use Bridge CS4 on a directory, then open the directory even with Bridge CS5, bridge insist on rebuilding thumbnails and previews (as shown on the lower status line).    If I reopen it then the directory in Bridge CS4, it rebuilt again inches and previews - but only inches seem to be rebuilt.   Preferences in both versions of the bridge are "identical".  The bridge cache files are kept in directories of images.

The construction of the cache seems to be pretty fast (faster than expected) - I don't know what, if anything, is being rebuilt.

    What is an operation expected?

This poses some difficulties that I have 530 000 images (7 terabytes) on Bridge CS4 and the reconstruction of the files would literally take weeks to rebuild.

Central cache built in Bridge CS4 allows not in Bridge CS5, as expected.  But there is a way to save a lot of time is the construction of a local cache in CS4, which will produce 2 hidden files '. '. BridgeCache «and» BridgeCacheT' in the same folder with your images.  After that when you open the folder in CS5, the thumbnails can get out of the local cache, which will be much faster to rebuild the cache.

For reference, there are 2 ways to build the local cache:

    1. check the option "Automatically export Cache files when Possible" in preferences > Cache.  This will produce a cache local to each folder as you navigate so you don't need to worry about build manually.  It is unchecked by default.

    2. manually build a local cache for a folder and all its subfolders by innovation in the folder that you want to build, then the selece tools > Cache > build and Cache export, with the option "Export Cache files" checked, click 'OK '.

Please try it and tell me if this solves your problem.

    Thank you!

Someone has successful sr get rid of this problem?

    Thank you

Instead of serving from the preferences, attempt to do by hand en deleting all files from the Cache folder (default C:\Users\\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Bridge\Cache - if you see it, enable the display of files and hidden folders in Windows Explorer).

If it doesn't, the other possibility is to do a reset of the preferences (to be addressed again):

    1. push and some the key Ctrl + Alt + shift.

    2. start Bridge.

    3. in the dialog box that opens, check the first 2 cases, and click OK.

  • Can I delete the old cache of CS4?

I upgraded to Photoshop CS5 and uninstalled CS4 a few months ago on my laptop.  Today, I got a popup telling me that I am running low on disk space.  I did all the regular maintenance of disk cleanup, but it does not generate much.  After some research to find out where all my disk space was used I found folders for Photoshop CS4 and Bridge CS4 in my user folders\application data\adobe\bridge cs4 etc.  These files are still used with CS5 anyway, or they take just GB of storage, that I could really use?

If you have uninstalled CS4, I would say something with "CS4" in the path is fair game and may be deleted.  Perhaps what I meant Shunith.  I'm sorry if I interpreted his comment incorrectly.

It is important to note that there is really no "cross polination" between versions of Photoshop.  As you probably know, you can have two different versions installed and they do not interfere with each other at all.  So if you do not use CS4, these files should be fair game.

Regarding the bridge cache, I simply don't use Bridge myself, I can't say for sure whether that can be deleted.  I am little happy that I do not use Bridge if it uses space like that.

  • Bridge cache

I have an SSHD, too small to accommodate the bridge Cache, as my C: drive. How can I run bridge to use another hard drive?

I can get bridge (CC version) to create a different folder in the Preferences menu, but were unable to assign another hard drive.

Yes, the desktop shortcut that did the trick. I should add that this 'correction' is, as said manual, very strange indeed. You run the bridge to this shortcut via preferences/Cache. However, after restart bridge, the location came under the shortcut to the real folder and, therefore, the entire hierarchy is listed. Weird.

  • Bridge CC Cache error/Crash

Bridge CC immediately crashes with this message: "bridge has encountered a problem and cannot read the cache.  Please try to purge central cache in the Cache preferences to correct the situation. "This does not solve the problem.  Any suggestions?

Yes, that is the recommendation.  Good detection on your part.

  • Bridge cache is corrupt, cannot open

Hello... First of all, let me say that I am NOT qualified techknow. OK, last week, techie trying to purge the cache and rebuild by the error message. Thing am jinky. He had to do something about that that doesn't have to rise again. Now, I can't load PS CC bridge at all. just, the wheel turns and locking the bridge. If you have answers please speak on novice talk about what to do. Thank you people, like a lot of help. @

The bridge has a Cache, preferences and Startup Scripts.  If the bridge lets get started and now will not.  My first guess would be that your user ID Bridge preferences are corrupted.  Try to rename you user ID Bridge preferences folder.   Where is the folder depends on you OS and version of bridge that you use.

    Hi all

We published a new version of Adobe Bridge (CC 2015) on July 19, 2016. This update is available via the Adobe Creative Cloud application.

Please try the new version and look for problems you encounter.

If you are not able to locate the bridge (CC 2015) on the creative cloud application, you will need to update the creative cloud application and restart your computer.

    Thank you

  • Bridge gives error only when previewing a .png

HI - when I open a folder with a .png file, I get an error that says: "the operation could not be completed. An unknown operating system error has occurred. "Only occurs with the .png files.

I figured out how to fix it - I go to/library/caches/adobe/bridge CC and delete the existing cache. Bridge to reboot and now I can get a glimpse of the .png files. But it has happened many times in the last month and it's a pain to fix every time. In addition, I lose my cache of bridge.

Does anyone have a problem with this, or know how I could fix this?

I just upgraded to El Capitan. I'm on an iMac end of 2013.

    Hi kswecker,

Please reset the Bridge preferences and then try it.

    Measures

Start Adobe Bridge, and immediately press Ctrl + Alt + Shift (Windows) or command + Option + shift (Mac OS down) until the dialogue box reset settings appears.

Select all three options - reset preferences, reset Standard Workspaces and all miniature Purge Cache - and then click OK.

  • Feature Request (new); Adobe Bridge Cache Manager

In Adobe Bridge, the Cache is still a problem and a huge memory hog. I asked for a good Manager to Cache more than 3 years while it was necessary to CS4.

Now in CS6, I am disappointed that the cache in Bridge system has not changed. Why do you have a section in the Adobe Forums that asks the "feature request" and then ignore them?

    http://forums.Adobe.com/message/2652688#2652688

"I would personally like a tool in the bridge that allows me to manage and control the Cache of more personal and effective manner. I would like a rocker that would keep 100% previews"in one folder for a period of time (1 day to 1 month) until the record cache is automatically purged. And an another rocker which would give me the opportunity to preserve permanently cache the selected folder (for example, an Important issue of portfolio or a folder of Images under management).

As a photographer, I take and edit a large number of photos. When I import a photoshoot with 1 500 photos (not uncommom at all), I have the previews of bridge at 100%, but for only a limited period. Unfortunately, I forgot to serve the individual cache of this file, and the cache relies on a point made very slow Adobe Bridge CS4. I have to then to purge the Cache of the entire bridge in order to make the bridge run smooth.

    Adobe couldn't care less.

Its sad but true. : (

  • BlackBerry smartphones without credentials cached - error ID 40721

I've updated Appworld on my Curve 8900 when it became first available a few weeks previously and immediately started to get the message to something to be wrong with this session and try again.  I tried a number of things like delete and re install AppWorld, and now I get the message "no credentials cache.  ID error 40721 "every time I try to upgrade applications or download new.  I have full access to AppWorld online with my browser of the computer.  I've updated my Blackberry ID and payment options.  I am still unable to use AppWorld on my device.

Believe me... I understand the financial constraints... I've been unemployed since his layoff in October...

Oh I hope that you did it correctly... There are very specific methods to do so, and many methods people think that work actually aren't (for example, the commands to ERASE on the device do not affect policy).

BTW it would be possible to downgrade my version of AW?

As a general rule, you can access both versions of AW. The latest version (which you already have) and the version that was delivered with your BB OS. To return to it, you must reload your operating system so that you can find this version of AW. But nothing in between is 'officially' available - although I've seen the links from time to time of people hosting the unofficial versions of AW (not... I have no list).

    Good luck!

  • Adobe bridge cache

I'm having cache problems on my... adobe bridge is that it is full and I need to delete it, but I don't know how.  Now my deck is going slow and I have problems with it.  I hit the drop of cache down to try to clear but it does not work and I have more questions. Please help me to clear my cache another way.

You can clear your cache in two ways, or allocate more space to it if you want

To empty, compact or resize, look here:

    Edit > Preferences > Cache

    This will also show you where your cache is stored;

Or using your file manager, you can locate your cache and manually remove it
