Reinstall Windows XP SP3 activation question

Compaq Win XP - Windows wouldn't start after installing Win Update KB2607712 on 9/7 - error: not able to start Windows because of missing or damaged: \system32\ntoskrnl.exe.  None of the suggested fixes worked.  Data is backed up and have reinstalled XP SP3, but it won't take the activation KEY.  It's the key # on my tour of office.  What can I do?

Who reinstalled your Windows XP. Is this you? Another key product or Windows XP edition may have been used.

Try to proceed as I said here: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_xp-windows_install/whenever-i-open-my-pc-something-like-windows/98bb5d39-53d2-4008-8a39-4b076bcd518c

  • Reinstall Windows XP SP3

I recently reinstalled Windows XP SP3. Reinstallation was successful, however, I think having acquired a "drive F" that I didn't have before. This disc is only 3.14 GB. All downloads (for example. Microsoft Office) seem to default to this disk and the available disk space is so low that the download does not load. This disc also has software like Windows files that seem to be duplicated on the local C drive.

Why is my Local Disk F?

Why are there records that appear to be duplicates?

How can I increase the size of this drive?

Note: I have not loaded one of my programs and files, and yet I seem to be low disk space!

If there is anything you want to keep it on one of the drives (don't forget!) then during installation you can choose to delete the partitions and just leave XP to create a new. In this way it will fill the entire disc usually.

There are other ways to do it via diskpart tools or a third party to kill the partitions, but the installer can do it too.

    original title: NVRD32. SYS ERROR

When I try to reinstall Windows XP SP3 on my Toshiba laptop, it works until the first reboot. When I boot on CD it comes up saying nvrd32.sys is not found: press any key to continue. When I press a key it is said: the Installer failed. Press a key to restart your computer.

So, I don't know what to do. I tried searching on google and found a set, but talk of computer that I couldn't begin to understand. Basically, what I consider somewhere or can I fix it myself? I just paid for a new disk of Windows XP SP3, so I'm not looking forward to having to pay someone to use it.

    Hello

    ·         Windows XP came preinstalled on your laptop?

    ·         If so, you have a recovery partition?

    ·         Where did you buy the disc of Windows XP SP3 for?

nvrd32.sys file is a chipset driver and must be installed via floppy F6 during initial installation.

Method 1: To do this, follow these steps.

    a. you can download the chipset drivers from Toshiba Web site and copy it to a floppy drive.

    b. press F6 at the start of the installation of Windows XP.

    c. follow the on-screen instructions to install the drivers for the chipset.

Method 2: You can contact Toshiba to restore to factory on the laptop.

  • Reinstall Windows XP - HP printer print sometimes gibberish

I had to reinstall windows XP sp3 caused by a virus.  I have formatted and reinstalled windows disk.  I installed the drivers required from Dell (Dimension 4700).  Everything seemed to work correctly after the installation of windows all updates.  I then installed the HP Officejet Pro L7650 AIO software.  Now sometimes when I print, I get gibberish.  I can usually get it works by re-printing of the document.  Files PDF and excel spreadsheet appears to print correctly.  (Fax cover page) Word documents and web pages seem to have a problem.  The document will be printed with all formatting intact, but the words will be gibberish.  I don't think it's a problem of HP, but think I might be missing a step after the re-installation.   Any ideas?

  • Question of VAMT/Activation: Frequently reinstall Windows from Scratch - failing HDD and is about to replace it.

    Hello

My HARD current (500 GB SATA 3 HDD Toshiba) drive is defect and displaying a warning. I bought a new WD 750 GB HDD to replace by ensuring that it is compatible with SATA 3.

Problem: Reinstall Windows 7 Professional and Office 2010 Professional Plus activation of both of them.

Activation/products affected: They are "Retail" (MAK) versions, but University so the activation limit is between 2 and 5. (Yes, they are installed on a single computer, are genuine and conform...).

Background: I'm a college student, HE takes classes and we need to install a lot of software intensive resources. I usually reinstall Windows every 4-6 months to "Start fresh" I noticed increased performance and install only necessary software. It's up to the activations MAK is expected.

Aim: I would like to use the tool, VAMT 2.0 (or ideally 3.0 - but I have no knowledge of SQL). Also, I do not have a server, just 2 or 3 Mobile Standard (8.1 of Windows, Windows XP Home Edition and this Windows 7 PC).

I have already watched the video below on VAMT 2.0 before posting:

    http://www.bing.com/videos/watch/video/using-VAMT-2-0/10tkzhtlq

Can I use activation by proxy in this case to "preserve the Activations using VAMT to store Installation and Confirmation IDS to avoid having activation problems common? If Yes, can someone please help me?

I tried to put the Windows WMI firewall rules allow for the Public, home and work on both PC but could not activate during a previous attempt a few months ago.

Any help is appreciated more than. I am all my backup files and need to get this done before the resumption of classes at the college level (in 3 days).

Thank you in advance and sorry for the long post!

(I posted in the TechNet forums and I apologize if it's wrong to do it, it's just a relatively urgent matter - normally, I wanted to just wait a few days for a response).

  • Re: Reinstall Windows 8 - productkey question

    Hello

Caused by a destructive virus, I had to wipe my hard drive. Now I'm trying to reinstall Windows 8. I use a DVD OEM of Windows 8 for what I purchased with a new PC. He asks a productkey, which I did not. I understand the productkey should be in the UEFI BIOS and it SHOULD automatically be accessible. But it doesn't work. What I am doing wrong?

    Best regards, René

    Hello

What model of laptop do you have exactly?
The laptop has been pre-installed with Windows 8?

Where this was the case, you need to create the recovery disk clean containing the Windows system (Windows 8) and drivers Toshiba and utilities.
This image is already activated (or will activate automatically) and you usually you don t need the series keys.

  • Re: Questions about reinstalling Windows XP

    Hello...
I have a portable satellite, and I must confess that I do not understand why everything should be formatted when reinstalling the system.
I have several questions if someone could help please.

Is it possible to reinstall Windows without losing programs installed?
If I use the restore CD, all partitions will be deleted or only C:?

    Thank you very much!!

    > Is it possible to reinstall Windows without losing programs installed?
No, because programs written entries in the Windows registry and sometimes in the Windows folder.
If you need to reinstall all programs after reinstallation of Windows.

    > If I use the restore CD, all partitions will be deleted or only C:?
If you use the recovery disk will be formatted the whole HARD drive then back up your data first.
After reinstalling Windows, you save your data on the HARD disk again.
