Brightness not adjustable LCD screen in win7

I recently had g500s lenovo with 64-bit preloaded windows8

I got bored of windows8 and retrograde to windows7 home premium 64-bit (a difficult procedure, or said by the way and with your help through the path)

Windows 7 has worked very well after installing device drivers, with the exception of the brightness of the LCD screen that is unresponsive to any fine-tuning...

in the windows power management home page, as well as shortcut keyboard, the cursor keys ainsi que les touches de raccourci clavier, le curseur va going either maximum or minimum brightness (no inbetween steps in windows 8 there were > 6 steps)

in the screen advanced settings, for as long as I set the brightness (for example at 50% on battery, plugged 70%) that does not lead to any change of the brightness almost

Sorry for the overload and thankx in advance

  • Tecra M2 LCD brightness to Windows login screen

    Hello

the brightness of the LCD screen of my Tecra M2 is too dark at the Windows login screen (only here). I'd say it's around one or two steps above the minimum brightness, which is really too dark.

After login, the brightness can be adjusted with the Fn key combinations or the Toshiba software. I know it wasn't dark before, but somehow I have seem to have changed without knowing.

I tried to change the parameter logged on as administrator, but nothing helped. After the reboot, the screen is dark again. The Fn keys do not work on the login screen.

So, does anyone know how the setting until a user's?

    Thank you
    Ingmar

    Hello Ingmar

I don't really know why is it so important to you, but something like that is nothing unusual. At the beginning the BIOS is responsible for all the activities and no OS. I imagine that in the BIOS settings that the brightness of the LCD screen is not set to the maximum level (not necessary). When the BONE starts OS take control over the material and that you have more high level of brightness (if you defined in the intelligence tool).
    All that s!

  • T500 WXGA + LCD screen adjustment challenges

Someone has any advice of setting LCD display for a T500 with 1680 x 1050 screen and Intel 4500HD GPU? I'm making adjustments in the Intel Graphic Media Accelerator Driver Panel. I am running Vista Home Basic.

A number of programs, different as Calibreze start by you calibration setting the contrast to maximum. When I do that it washes out the screen so I back off on the contrast and try to go through the ordeal, but the result is gaps in the color saturation. I'm still frustrated by the video settings on the same control panel button. When I change the settings here it seems to have an effect on the small test photos provided in the setting window. It has no effect on the screen itself. I found a bunch of Vista color management options, but I have no idea where to start with these. Finally, I tried to find a guide to the user for but came up with nothing. Does anyone know where to find one?

It left me wondering why I didn't just buy a computer with a dedicated graphics card.

    Hi Doublej,

You don't say what your purpose by adjusting your screen. If it is to have a monitor really calibrated in terms of photo editing, then I recommend that you just give up on the screen of the laptop in all cases and using an external monitor. The external monitor must be of type IPS, MVA, or PVA (Wikipedia / Google these if you're not familiar with them) If a flat screen or a (gasp!) CRT. All these options are expensive, except the obsolete CRT. Just about every screen of the laptop these days and flat screens more external too use TN technology, which is excellent for the game (fast response time), but total rubbish for angles of vision and the accuracy of the colors. Don't believe me? Load a color picture on your laptop, then try looking at slightly above, slightly below Center of Center, left of Center and right of Center. See color changes and brightness? How can possibly calibrate you that? (You can not - there is no way to always look exactly the same angle the screen, even if you can place your head perfectly, your eyes see different parts of the screen from different angles.) A good external monitor will give you as much better contrast ratios (brighter areas / dark).

After getting a decent monitor, it's always a good idea to calibrate it. (I saw some Dell monitors and Apple come pretty close without calibration and others who were the way out of default calibration.) The calibrator screen X-Rite i1 display 2 comes with the easy to use for Windows and Mac calibration software. (Other calibrators can be just as good, but I haven't used it so don't know).

The online monitor Test FlatPanelsDK is ideal for a quick visual check of calibration of your screen.

One last thing: discrete graphics have No. color calibration advantage over your beautiful card Intel integrated graphics.

  • Windows 7 is not supported (the screen brightness problem)?

I called Lenovo technical support to see if they had a solution for unable darken the screen in Windows 7.  The suport person told me to load the most recent drivers.  I did and then recalled with my file number.  I told them that the suggestion did not work (I knew he wouldn't).

The guy asked me if I had received the update of Win 7 from Lenovo, and I said, 'no, I bought Windows 7 and installed this version.

Finally, when he realized that he couldn't help me, he told me that they couldn't give me more help because I had loaded "unsupported software.  Apparently, they believe Windows 7 (if not received Lenovo) 'no software support!

I had the same problem, I have just upgraded to windows 7 this week and could not adjust the brightness, but after the bios updated everything it worked perfectly.

  • Portege R100 video cable does not reach the replacement LCD screen

Hi guys, I have replaced the LCD screen of my Toshiba R100, than they had in it was defective. It seemed that it was a replacement at some point however. In any case, I received my new screen, but does not reach the video cable to the top of the circuit of LCD screens. How am I meant to connect it to the screen? Is there an extension cable or what? The screen they had in there previously looked like they were welded copper wires about 8 digitizer.

Here are 2 pictures of what I mean

    Hello

Where did you buy this screen?
Are you sure that it is perfectly compatible with your laptop protected R100 to 100%?

Looks like it s not fully compatible
However, if an extra cable is necessary you can get it from the Toshiba ASP in your country.

In your case, I recommend you contact the guy and ask for compatible cable!

  • volume control stuck on screen - not work - not adjustable, Inspiron 13 7000 series 2-in-1

I have just bought a new laptop Inspiron 13 7000 series 2-1. It comes with Windows 8.1. It happened (don't know why) that the volume control is frozen on the screen at the top left with the volume level of 0% so I can not adjust the volume of all on both the keyboard and the touchscreen.

What I've tried is less than

-In the Control Panel, sounds, communications: when Windows detects communications activity

    Select "do nothing".

-uninstalled the audio driver and leave it is reinstalled automatically after reboot

-uninstalled the audio driver and install the audio driver downloaded from dell support

-clean the boot and uninstall - reinstall the driver

It was solved once when I tried the pull-off and push the usb for the logitech wireless mouse. When the volume control is stuck on the screen again, I tried this again, but it does not help.

    Any suggestion please. Thank you.

    NUCH

Thank you!  Has exactly the same problem today.  Here is a picture of the cable and screw in question.

  • HP Dv7 1448dx LCD screen display not

HP Dv7 1448dx running on Windows Vista Edition Home Premium

    P/N-NV213UA #ABA

    Warranty has expired

I wish I could give you more details but this is another post that I am currently working on and I'm trying to fix my laptop grandparents for them. Their HP laptop turns on but no screen appears. I tried reset hard and external display nothing is thus to try to connect it to an external monitor and my T.V. so with an HDMI cable. When you press the power button on the fan, hard drive, processor and the LED lights all work. I disassemble the laptop best I could without losing myself to check the defective wiring and I couldn't find anything wrong or out of place. Nothing was loose at all.

How it happened, it's from what I hear they were watching a youtube video and the sound go haywire and their screen went all white. They could not fix the screen or sound problem, so they manually stopping power button computer. When they went to turn it back on everything started upward as much as internals go but the screen stays black and if you let it run for a period of time you are not here to boot windows. I took their hard drive and tested on my computer and it works fine so I know it isn't the hard drive. Their RAM and processor are in place and appear to have no damage done to them. I wasn't able to to the motherboard when I picked this place because I didn't lose my place with the screws and connections.

IF anyone can help me solve this laptop I'll greatly appreciate. I thank you for having taken the time to read this post I can't wait to hear from someone who can help.

For anyone else who has seen this page looking for a possible answer, I solved the problem. The hard reset to laptops in now that the power button is supposed to get rid of static electricity leaves behind her question on use and General construction to the top of a constant load. How I fixed it, it was by a manual HARD reset by stripping the laptop goes down to the processor itself, release and go out for about 30 seconds. If you follow this route make sure not to wear latex gloves so also no damage the motherboard. Replace the processor after 30 seconds: (optional and what I've done - is to put a piece of copper spacer between the top of the processor and the heatsink in very thin copper). After that doing this step and put it back together my black screen problems seems to have been resolved.

  • Bad monitor or LCD screen cable on Qosmio X 505?

Looking for a little help to solve my problem.

About six months ago my web cam log if I moved the monitor back or front. A month or two later the monitor should fade a bit. I have to move the monitor to restore its brightness. The monitor will now completely black if moved. I have to close it and open the lid (monitor) completely so that he could appear at the back and it still does not work the first time... I am running an external monitor via HDMI to avoid the problem... I really need to this address.

This sounds like a cable of the LCD screen or a monitor problem? Looking at what part to replace everything first.

    Thank you for your time.

You know very well that this virtual path no one can say with certainty what the problem and this question must be verified correctly.
I put t know why you don t tell us what model of laptop you have.

Anyway, if you have the new Qosmio notebook with valid warranty I recommend to contact the nearest Toshiba service provider and let them solve this problem. Warranty will cover all costs.

  • Equium A110 - 233 LCD screen all shades of blue

The LCD screen very rarely works well. It is ALWAYS perfect and an external monitor.

The screen is bright enough, so this is not the stuff of backlight. Looks like a test page for a defective printer - primarily cyan with a small window on the screen 'good', plus a load of dirty lines blue & black in places up and down the screen.

One of them is the cursor when it is moved as I have messing around on the touchpad. I could take a camera phone picture if that helps anyone. This is a screen replacement or something else?

I suspect that it fell (here again, who has not never let down their laptop?) as the cylindrical hinge on the RIGHT side is slightly damaged.

The laptop itself works fine, was turned on for hours and hours without any problem, etc.

    See you soon

    SW

    Hello

I think it would be a laptop display error because the image on the external monitor is fine.
If the external monitor would be affected too then a graphics card could malfunction, but in your case, it shows more like a display problem.

So in my view, the display needs to be replaced to get this problem resolved.

    Good bye

  • Dust between the LCD screen?

I noticed it last night, at first I thought it was a dead on my T400 pixel, but then I realized that the color is not changed when I did a test... Who and when I put my laptop in my bag and went home, I noticed the "dead pixel" then moved up to the other corner, then I turned a brighter light and I noticed that it's dust between my LCD screen.

It's annoying, and I feel rather murky obsessive-compulsive right about now, what can do for 'delete', or would it be better to find a technician partner to remove it? Yes, my laptop is still under warranty.

Hi and welcome to the forum!

If you have the warranty, then Yes, the best option for you would be to contact the service of lenovo and be replaced by certified technician.

    It will be useful.
