Photosmart 6520: HP Photosmart 6520 hurt margins

I have a Photosmart 6520, which allows the 2-sided printing.

However, to use it, I can´t chose printing without margins, causing the printer to increase margins of 1 cm, even though I have more big margins.

I have no sense!

The printer does not reduce the size of my impressions as soon as they are within the allowed range.

Is there a way to overcome this problem (but keeping with 2 automatic duplex printing)?

Thank you.

OK, in your original post said you you want to print without margins and automatic duplex printing.  In the eyes of the driver for the advanced parameter settings, the value "preserve the layout' no, OK.  When this box is checked, the printer will shrink printing slightly to ensure that to appear on the page when printing double-sided printing.

I have a word document (office 2010), created on a 3 "x 5" custom card index that allows to print up to 3/8 "from the edge of the paper on my computer running Windows 8. I had to get a new computer, because my motherboard is dead and now the paper is cutting to 5/8 "from the edge. The settings of the document have not changed and I have the same printer, so I don't know if it's a driver problem or a problem of Windows 10.  I tried to set the margins of the documents to zero and checking if there are any settings that I could change in the printer preferences but nothing has worked. Thanks to join the Support Forums HP for a solutiton to your printing issue margin.

I understand that you are currently using an HP Photosmart e-all-in-one printer with a Windows 10 computer but when you try to print a word document that would print up to 3/8 "from the edge of the paper to Windows 8 to 10 of Windows, the paper is cut to 5/8" from the edge of the paper. I would like to help with that.

This could be a software problem and the pilot.

  • Photosmart 6520: can't get 2 sides Preset to save

I use this printer connected by USB to an iMac running OS 10.9.5,, but this isn't a new problem.

I want to print my bank statements using this configuration: double-sided and odd pages only.  I can't get this save as preset. It seems that when I try to save the current settings as a preset, the margins of Destination Size:U.S Two-Sided Letter paper nor the duplex option are registered.  I also tried to use Long Edge binding and which will not save either.  The same problem occurs if I print in a Safari window or if I save the document in PDF format and try to print from an excerpt.

I have no problem getting the desired result for a single document, but I don't want to change the settings every time I want to print.  Isn't this why we have Presets?

Is this a bug of driver?

    Hello @TigerMO,

I would like to help you today with presets for printing problem you encounter when you print to your HP Photosmart 6520 e-all-in-one printer Mac OS X 10.9 operating system. Because your driver is unable to "Save" Presets for future use, I'll run you through a series of software and driver TROUBLESHOOTING steps below to resolve this issue.

Step 1: Resetting the printing system:

To begin, I will have you reset the printing system on your Mac. Please click herefor instructions on how to perform the reset. When the site opens, follow the steps under"Reset printing in OS X Lion system" because the steps are the same for Mac OS X 10.9. This Reset deletes each printer on your Mac. However, it does not uninstall printers. Therefore, if use you other printers on the Mac, once the reset is complete simply make sure printers are attached via a USB cable or connected network and (+) add hide them po do add not your HP Photosmart back in right now.

Once the reset is complete, proceed to the next step.

Step 2: Uninstall the drivers and software:

Please click here to find out how to properly uninstall your printer. Once the site opens select the drop down menu 'Mac OS X v10.6, OS X v10.7, OS X v10.8 and OS X v10.9' and follow the steps to complete uninstallation.

Once the uninstall is complete, please continue on.

Step 3: Check and repair your Mac disk permissions:

    1. Open Macintosh HD and go to Applications
    2. Go to the Utilities folder
    3. Open disk utility
    4. Select the hard disk volume, you use (usually on the left)
    5. Select verify disk permissions
    6. Once this process is complete, select repair disk permissions

Step 4: Check the Apple updates:

    1. Go to the Apple
    2. Select System Preferences
    3. Select software update
    4. Click update now
    5. Install your available updates
    6. Computer restart

Step 5: Reinstall your software and drivers:

Finally, please click here to download the driver package for your printer. Once the site opens, select the download button at the top left. Once the download is complete, please follow the instructions on the screen to install your printer.

Once your printer is added in, check the driver to make sure that the driver of the HP Photosmart camera is used and not the driver Apple AirPrint.

    1. click on the menu of Apple , then Preferences System.

    2. click on Print & Scan and then check if the name of your printer appears in the printer list.

    3. click on the name of your printer, click the sign minus (), then remove the printer.

    4. click on the plus sign (), click Add a printer or a Scanner, click the name of your printer.

    5. click on the area of use or with the help of Print and then select the name of your printer on the shortcut menu. Ensure that the Photosmart driver is selected.

    6. click Add to add the printer to the list.

Once the printer is properly added to, please try to save printing Presets again to check if the settings to stick this time.

Please reply to this message with the result of your troubleshooting. Good luck!

I did some research on the problem of another user, and looks like it's just a ghost update.  Basically, an update 'ghost' is an update that was for the device, but unit has newer drivers which causes the update failing to keep.  The only thing you can do is to hide the update, or ignore it.  Windows will continue to try to push it, but your printer does not need it.  If she didn't need the update, it would install right.  You can find the thread where I helped another user below.  I hope this helps.

AirPrint is already built into the iPad. I have included a link below with some instructions on how to use it. As long as your ipad and the printer are connected to the same wifi network, AirPrint must operate, your printer is active AirPrint.

I don't know if this problem just since I recently changed from a Windows PC on a Mac.

I very rarely use the apps, so I don't know when it started.

Everything else seems to work very well I would say.

Can someone please tell me what could be the cause, or if there is something I can try to sort it out?

I seem to be going round in circles, and I can't work on what is happening.

    Thanks for your help.

    Hey @TraceyMac,

Welcome to the Forum from HP Support.  I hope you enjoy your experience here.

I understand that you are unable to use the pads (Print Apps) on your HP Photosmart 6520 e-all-in-one printer.  I want to help you with this.  A recent installation of printer would not affect your performance of platelets but no loss of connection or wireless Web services could be a factor.

Note that to access the applications and their use from the front panel of your printer requires two ingredients to be successful: 1) Wi - Fi connection and 2). the ePrint feature (webservices are enabled).

    • Touch the wireless icon () on the front panel of your printer - is the printer connected to your wireless network?  (If not, run the wireless configuration wizard, select your network name/SSID and enter your password wireless reconnect).  If you are connected, proceed as explained below.
    • Tap the icon of webservices/ePrint () on the front panel of your printer.
    • If webservices are not enabled, press OK in order to enable them and allow the automatic updates of printers.
    • This will cause your printer to print an information document describing the characters before @hpeprint.com your printer (ePrint address).  This is known as the claim code.  As another way to use printing applications available for your printer, you can sign in to http://www.hpconnected.com to program applications printing to print and review all the content that ideally will reappear on the front of your printer.
    • From there, you can click the devices tab and use the claimcode to add your printer to the site and take advantage of the available applications, it.

If these basic steps to respond to a resolution, please, try the following:

When users encounter this type of problem in general, I suggest from scratch with wireless printer, webservices, and apps printing configuration.  You can clear all of these parameters in a swoop by the factory default restore * your printer.

    Here's how:

    * Note that this step resets the setting up your printer wireless, address ePrint and other custom print settings. If you have created a custom address @hpeprint.com it is permanently erased. For more information about custom addresses ePrint, click here.

    • Front panel of the printer, arrow down and select Tools
    • Select restore default

Then touch the wireless icon, run the Wireless Setup Wizard to restore your network connection, and then tap the Webservices () and reactivate your webservices.

If you are able to successfully reactivate your webservices, tap on the icon of your printer wireless () and make a note of the IP address of the printer.  Then, follow these steps to configure a manual DNS:

    • Enter the printer's IP address in a web browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Internet Explorer) and press ENTER to go directly to this page.
    • Click the network tab.
    • In the submenu on the left, click Networking.
    • Then click on the network (IP) address.
    • Click Manual DNS server.
    • DNS preferred as 8.8.8.8 manual entry
    • Auxiliary DNS server entry as 8.8.4.4
    • Click on apply to finalize this change.

I got the series HP Photosmart 6520 for Christmas.  While I'm still not sure how to get my Macbook pro to recognize it... my daughter was able to use it with an application on his phone.  We test printed a few things and it works beautifully.  So the next time he said a paper jam.  We removed the paper does nto seem to be stuck.  Always says paper jam.  Don't know how to fix a paper jam, when there is no paper in it.  Can someone please advise?

    Hello

You can use direct funtion of turining the button your printer wireless wireless on the front of the printer.

This allows to generate the printer it's own singal wifi that you can connect through any wireless device.

To find the wireless password, simply hold the direct wireless for more than 3 seconds and it will display the password on plain paper (make sure that the paper is loaded).

  • Photosmart HP 6520 printer: hp photosmart 6520 cannot set print at 100% scale/size

What CD jewel box impression label width and higth suddenly became smaller. It works perfectly until recently. Have uninstalled and reinstalled the printer and drivers, but I am unable to find how re set the scale to 100%. in this hp6520 Photosmart printer.

Any help would be appreciated: very happy smiley:

After watching your @dlddemonscreenshots, I see that you use the HPDD896C (HP Photosmart 6520 series), it is a driver not driver HP class.

I suggest all first to remove this driver and add the printer again. In fact, I suggest to use the following steps to remove the printer from the device and printers and the driver from the properties of the server.

    1. in the folder "devices and printers".

    2. choose "print server properties.

    • Win XP - with no printer selected, click 'File' then 'server properties '.
    • Windows Vista - with no printer selected, press 'Alt' and then click 'file' then 'server properties '.
    • Windows 7/8, 8.1 and 10 - select any printer in the "Devices and printers" folder and click on "Print server properties" above.

    3. click on the "Drivers" tab at the top of the window "properties of the print server.

    4. choose the printer that you want to uninstall, and then click 'remove '.

    5. choose "Remove driver only.

    6. the next screen will give a warning, letting you know that the removal of the driver package will remove it from the system. Click 'Yes' to say are you sure you want to do.

If documents are stuck in the spooler to print, you see an error, cancel all documents waiting in the print queue or try restart the spooler to print, and then try to delete the driver from 'Print server properties' again. If she will not always remove the sachet, restart the computer and the printer should correct this error "in use" and allow the driver to be removed.

Once the driver is then deleted, open start > all programs > HP folder > folder printer > HP Setup and software (or the icon of the printer).  The installation screen and the software opens and you can click on connect a new printer.

Once you have added the HP driver, try to print a label again and let me know the result. In addition, you may need to change ' borderless printing: Print with border ' borderless Print.

Let me know how it goes.

  • Apps on photosmart 6520

I have the photosmart 6520 and like the printer.  There is a major problem that I have with the disney app and the app promo.  There is no way to disable these applications.  I do not want as they print constantly.  Even when I run out of ink, these applications print, print, and print without interruption.  I feel that I became a poor person that I am constantly running to the store to buy ink.  I even considered going to the store to buy another printer and not a mark of HP because of all of the ink that is wasted by these applications.  What can be done to stop these applications?  My son and I spent hours trying to find ways to disable them.  I am at my wits end and I hope that I find help from the experts.

    Hello

The best way to stop the applications would be to go the app on the front of the printer, and if it is scheduled you will have an option of settings at the bottom right. Click that and then highlight at the bottom of the list to stop automatic printing, push that, and it should take care of things. I know its not displayed on the first screen of options, then it can be easy to forget.

The other option is if you have an application on the printer called to manage, you can go and it lists all of the applications on-demand printing, you can then press on and stop there, too.

I try to print from my ipad and it still says that the paper tray is empy, when it is not.  I think he wants to "photo paper" and I don't want to print a photo.  ??

    HI Vicki_O,

Welcome to the Forums of HP's Support. I understand that when I try to print from your iPad using Apple's AirPrint feature that you have found an error output of paper for the printer Photosmart 6520.

I suspect that you are right and the AirPrint feature is that the document is printed as an image file, so it's like a photo manipulation. I have included document Basics AirPrint from Apple. For any additional consultation, I've also included HP How to use Apple AirPrint on a wireless network.

If you want more that what is available with Apple's AirPrint printing options, you can use the application Mobile HP ePrint. I've included the HP ePrint Mobile App FAQ document.

If you want to scan from your printer directly on your iPad, you can always download the AiO Printer Remote app from HP.   I've included the HP all-in-One Printer Remote Mobile App FAQ document.
