Broken left hinge and base separating

Computer hp laptop g6-2016tx paviliong, I bought in 2012 and with an additional year warranty, the warranty expired in 2014-August/sepetember

recently, I observed that the left hinge and coverage of basic connection of the laptop is broken and get separated, when I searched on the net that this is a problem occurring most for hp pavilion g6/dv6/desire/probooks if I would have known this problem well before you buy it, that I would have stayed away from hp, I used dell laptop , who is first-rate in quality of construction compared to this cheap glossy plastic, I paid 45 k inr for this thing that looks like serious construction cheap,.

When the problem occurs repeatedly in many of your laptop models who also have the same problem, why hp did not do anythign like replacement/fixing such things in for free even if the warranty has expired, because seriously, it's a defect in design manufacturing/assembly line, is a sure iam mechanical engineer on this subject be of a LARGER company with good reputation, you should have addressed this question before, check or google, you will know about this problem with your notebooks hp in particular, broken left hinge everyone complains about the same, but there is no official announcement on your side of hp,

I decided to stay away from HP next time, thank God I thought to buy hp series of water courses that I am saved me!

Goodbye hp

GRK

Thanks to JeffHelp, Mr.ABG Tilak (hp authorized service), Mr. Biraja Prasad Bidhar(Case Manager, Indian customer relations) and Mr.kevin - t (Moderator-support forums) to help me and get the replacement of the broken base cover

Hello! I have a off-warranty book Pavilion g6-2342dx, which also has a broken left hinge. 2 days ago the display stop working. The system starts normally, but no display.

I have attached a HP s2031 monitor via the secondary monitor output cable and the notebook seems to work as it should.

As is the left hinge is broken, could the connection of display power came in bulk / cancelled? I don't really want to tear into it without some prior advice...

The warranty has expired may 3, 2014, but I noticed that many other people have experienced a problem with this hinge. Is it possible that HP can "Troubleshoot", and perhaps "extend" the warranty for the same problem?  You can give advice or advice will be greatly appreciated!

    Thank you

As an addendum to this post...

I received a phone call from an AMS TC escalations team case manager. He has very kindly let me know that HP would solve this problem for me! Yesterday morning I received a HP shipping container and sent the unit to their repair center.

  • The HP Envy 15 t laptop: broken left hinge, corner of laptop is cracked and opened.

    Hello

My laptop HP Envy 15t broken left hinge and the left corner is cracked and bulging. The laptop has not declined or fell. When I open and close the laptop the hinge moves and then separate tiny capitalization. The tiny screw are falling and I'm not able to close and open the laptop properly. The warranty has expired on this laptop. Help, please.

    Thank you in advance.

    @Albert5

The question of the hinge on the Evny of HP is well known to HP, and yet they refuse to do much, if anything, to this subject.  If you are in warranty, they will typically set for free, no questions asked.  Out of warranty, however, it's like a completely different society.  They will be responsible of very varying amounts, from $130 to $300 to fix their own design flaw.   Here is a link to a long thread that I started to update others on the issue and my relationship with HP:

    http://h30434.www3.HP.com/T5/notebook-hardware/defective-hinges-on-HP-laptops-envy/m-p/5378336#M204440

We hope that you will find useful information.  As further evidence that HP is aware of their own design flaw, the new 17 "want to have a case completely redesigned with a much better hinge.

    Good luck!

  • Broken left hinge on Satellite Pro A40 - need part number

Can anyone help? I broke the left hinge on my A40. I can't find anywhere to get a replacement and I don't know where I can find the part No. so I don't know, I get the right one.

Does anyone not know the part. and where I can buy a hinge?

    Hello

Replacing display hinges is not easy and kinda hard you must remove the entire screen, and I imagine that someone without experience could damage parts during disassembly procedure.
I recommend you contact the ASP for details and help.
The authorized service partner can also order the right and new hinges for this laptop directly from the head of Toshiba warehouse.

    Good luck and best regards

About two days ago, I noticed that there is a sound of snapping little after that display failed with a closer, I descovered that the hinge broke the game fulty manufacturing evidence is not only this site, but on others, such as http://www.notebookhingecrack.com/2008/02/27/models-with-hinge-cracks/ im not satisfied with running around on this already ordered iv gives the pieces that After looking at my command, return of the lady who took the same command after repeat correctly it always displayed the wrong parts. IM more then willing to fix the laptop my self actually id prefure to but I feel that hp should suply all the replacement parts for neccary to the cost here.

Problom being fixed is a correction is not a rp260ua there is zero with trhat number it turns out that for printing to be beat with a closer look, it turns out be a rp250ua if you think you have a rp260ua closer look because your probly hurt as if I was.

  • HP ENVY 1090ee 6 - left hinge broken

I bought HP, Acer, Lenovo and Asus because I thought that the only thing that HP offers each time, is of exquisite build quality. However, today, I was met with a surprise. The left hinge (one near the power button) has apparently unravel, as if on its own.

Surprised as I was, I contacted the technical support. Surprise, Surprise, my warranty information is wrong. Ive lost out on half a year warranty services.

FLASH BACK: DUBAI - laptop bought on 3 February, 13 - great expectations.

SKIP TO PRESENT: INDIA - lost hinge broken and guaranteed.

Then I took a deep breath and open the HPSA faithful once again, inform the specialist my "fake date of purchase" (note that I am in India at the time). I am informed by the technician that I have 'support of the HP tech to the Arab Emirates UNITED to rectify the problem. '

    A STRIKE.

Thus, everyone knows how 'good' the guarantee are services in India. I remember having an old all-in-one HP printer. The printer does not work, so we took to the "authorized" HP nearest after-sales service. The first day we went, we were not given any "service". The next day we went, that they claimed THAT NOTHING under the guarantee it covers. They could be right, but oh well, we paid for rectification.

So now I feel like its going to be a repeat of the last time. And it's funny, because I found a large NUMBER of people having the same problem. I don't want to support the customer, waste BECAUSE I SAW them HELP OTHERS. The sad part is that these people are mostly from the States.

Maybe its not justified, but it always seems like the developing countries get the worst of both worlds. We are the highest consumer population, and yet we get the inflated prices (I know are due to many factors beyond the control of the company) and poor service.

I can't believe that there is not a single HP to Mumbai service center is, well, purely HP, and not a 3rd party "authorized dealer". I suppose that can't do anything on this subject and maybe as I write this in vain, but if someone is listening (or reading), may I suggest at least to have a third party service center. This will help a LOT.

I hope someone can help me.

  • Laptop 15-R205TU: broken hinges and must be replaced

    Hello

I bought this laptop only 4 months ago and its left hinges broke because he has not escaped or hit anywhere. I called the customer service and told them that when I opened the lid on normal use it is broken, which is quite shocking to me. They said they will send to the engineer to fix the problem and next day engineer came. He concluded that it is the first case to him that without shots or hinges broke. And HP are covered in warranty and you have to pay for it if you want to resolve. Yet once again, I called the customer service and said of the case, then the customer to transfer the call to the elderly person to solve the problem. After experiencing my problem the old person refused to fix my problem in warranty and asked me to pay for it.

After thinking too much I decided to reimburse the costs that I am unable to do my job. Next day, I asked them to send the quote after a few hours later I got the quote and surprised. They are charging me Rs 20 000 which includes raw view, back cover and bezel WBC.

    Please help me on this.

  • HP Envy 17: HP Envy 17 left hinge broken

Today, I opened my laptop and the left hinge broke. I posted elsewhere in these forums.

Not a happy camper right now.

I had with HP customer support with the help of mods/admins here. Because my laptop is out of warranty, I had to pay for repair.

I didn't have to pay because this seems to be a major problem, but also I didn't take it to anyone. In addition, everyone wanted to double that asked the HP.

They charged me $178 give or take a few changes. I was surprised when I came back. Not only have they replace the hinge, they also replaced the upper and lower the machine sections. They also found another problem at the level of the material and that fixed too, it is nothing to do with my problem. Basically, they checked the entire machine even though it was just a hinge.

I was very angry when it happened, but am quite happy with the results. Of what I was said, since HP went completely through it I can actually restored coverage, for a price of course.

The laptop looks great and works great.

Thanks for the support of the HP team.

This issue, therefore, and must thus be recognised as SOLVED!

EDIT: When CS calls you, let know them to look in the forums for this issue. Some there is not aware that it is a recurring problem.

  • left hinge is broken

    Hello community HP,.

my hp ultrabook model: HP ENVY Sleekbook 6-1080ex

The left hinge broke a few days ago and I checked my warranty status and he arrived at expiration. Then a regualr computer store repair my ultrabook or should I fix it in one of the shops of HP?

Another question, I have noticed since I got this model,

    (1) it freezes a lot and the same thing kept happenning when I upgraded to windows 8.

    (2) Moreover the device gots very hot when you do activities such as internet browsing and emails chekcing regualr.  And I'm using a cooling pad all the time for this reason.

It's my second expericne with number of HP and especially my own HP family member number so they are facing the same problems of excessive cold or heat... I plan to switch to another company if HP keeps ignoring the problems of heat and glitching in his designs.

    Thank you

I finally received an answer from HP and they asked for more information about my laptop. I think only two or three days elapsed between the forum messages and HP response. I hope this goes somewhere.

  • HP Pavilion DV6-3052TX left hinge broke

    Hello

I have purchaced HP DV6-3052TX, Jun 2010. During the warranty period, I heard "thuck" sound crackling while opening & closing the lid near the left hinge. I went to HP Service Center to get it repaired, but they do not have to set properly. But now the top panel is detached from the base Panel when I just opened the cover and the left hinge seems to be dislocated. This problem occurs again and again, for most users that clearly indicates the manufacturing defect. I have found so many cases on the Internet (some of them are on the Web site of the consumer forum and some are here on the website of HP support forum) who explained the same hinge broken with pattern are also the same problem. I have invested 60K /-for my laptop, but now there is a defect in the design and there is no point in fixing the problem reappears again. Its really frustrating after having invested so what you get is a machine of defection. It is very annoying and not according to the standard of HP. As a customer of HP, we expect better quality.

I ask you please review and do what is necessary.

    Hello Saiprashanth92,

I saw your post and sent him to the right people for their review. You should hear from someone bit via private message on this Forum.

  • Widescreen - torn R61i cable under the broken right hinge

    Hey everybody,

I recently bought a used R61i which has been described as having only a right hinge broken. - However, the EC, I noticed a black ripped/broken cable protruding under/the broken right hinge all about.

I searched through many many sons of "broken hinge" on various forums, but no one ever mentions this black cable near the right hinge as far as I can tell. He is always on the left hinge antenna cables. I have also looked at the manual but cannot know what is function of this cable (a). I think it has something to do with the screen, but:

The laptop seems to work very well; I installed Windows XP and there is no problem with the screen (outside of not being able to set a higher resolution, but I think this comes from a graphic/Monitor driver problem).

Can someone tell me what is this black cable and what problems it might cause (in the future)? Should I replace it - is replaceable? I'll be replacing the hinge and clean fan anyway, so have to disassemble the laptop anyway.

Here are some photos to show you the black cable and its location:

    Thanks in advance!

The black wire is the wire aerial (secondary) to the wireless LAN. The gray wire on the left side is the main. You can get a poorer Black wireless reception. To replace it, you must remove and disassemble the lid/LCD
