• Satellite A30 broken PCMCIA slot

  Hello

  I hope someone can help. Girlfriend was a little careless and broken the PCMCIA eject off when put away his Satellite A30.

  Can't get a card to go into the slot so that it resembles a replacement is required.

  So the question is how to replace the PCMCIA mechanism? I tried to remove all the screws of the cover, but there must be some well hidden fasteners that I couldn't go down the case to expose it.

  It a shame to hear this.
  The PCMCIA location is hidden inside the laptop and it's not easy to replace for someone without any experience.
  So I think you should really ask someone more experienced to laptop for fixing.

  It of a bit risky to change what whether on the motherboard and you know a common user like me or you might damage something.

  So contact an ASP in your country or a laptop service point and ask for fees. Don t think much more expensive s.

• AT105 with European firmware

  I got an AT100 for repairs (broken SD slot) and now it seems to have become an AT105.

  This then seems to confuse the Server Service Station, if she sees any firmware updates beyond the Android 3.1 which end up with after the repairs (I suspect that the whole circuit has been replaced).

  AFAIK the AT105 came out for US market and the AT100 was the similar Tablet for the EU market.

  I recently bought a T530, and wanted to update my 16 GB RAM. However, if I insert the RAM module in slot 2, the computer does not boot (BIOS has been updated, the modules are the same MoBo has also been replaced by a technician from Lenovo). Other solutions? Note that the 2 slot does not work even if there is nothing in the first slot (two modules operate in the first place).

  Laptop works with the new RAM stick only in slot 1?
  If 'yes' and sticks are the same that you specified that the cause could be a broken 2nd slot (pins of the connector) or its tracks on the circuit board.

• Satellite 1800-100 - is RAM slot B broken?

  Due to the poor system performance 256 MB of RAM to put in with the the laptop 128 MB, I bought came with. When I opened the hood to the RAM slots I realized that the two slots were already in use. I got my brother's cell phone and he told me that he had bought 256 MB, a few years back and he says they worked and the laptop ran with 384 MB.

  The laptop has an A slot and a slot B. When I put all 3 Rams (128,256,256) into A slot they are recognized by the BIOS and notebooks works very well. However, if I put one of them in the slot B I turn on the laptop and noting happens, I can´t even not to enter the BIOS.

  When I put 2x256MB (A and B) the laptop only works with 256 MB. So I guess the slot B is somehow broken? This hypothesis is correct? How do I go about solving this problem?

  Yes it looks like there is a faulty RAM slot. This doesn't happen often, but sometimes I read about sound.
  There is no way to fix it. The only way I know is to exchange the complete motherboard. Maybe you can get a second hand motherboard from eBay.

• Second slot memory broken from the factory?

  I have a HP Pavilion m6-1000eo.

  My problem is when I try to add more memory that it just snaps into the second slot. I tried with a memory of my old mac and to be sure that it is not the memory that does not fit I also tried to put in the memory supplied with the computer at the secondary location. The original mem. organic pollutants persistent and at the main location with a team, but it does not work in high school.

  I suspect it's something wrong with the comp. from the factory since it's as if something is in the path of memory, so it cannot slide at bottom. I hope that you can see if this is the case in the pic.

  I don't see anything bad about the picture. You have to push the module with more pace sometimes, but be careful. Perhaps a picture angle toward the slot can bring up more.

• Treo 500 broken expansion card slot

  Trying to take out my battery (very difficult), I broke the expansion card slot.  The wacky things that create the hinge broke.  The cardholder still "locks", but...

  The phone is reading the expansion card (4 GB), but only let me put a song on it! before you say full. So, I was wondering if maybe he is not locked properly (because of the missing hinge).

  My computer knew some problems turning on and I took it to the genius bar. They went through my MacBook as there are of course many causes possible so I went to pick up another day, when they were performed. I have just return and everything works well except the RAM. I had 8 GB installed and registered only 4 GB. After rotation autour and only use a stick at a time I have diagnosed the issue as the least RAM slot is the problem. I want to know what I have to do? Is it a simple fix I can do (or try) or I need to resume and explain?

  Hi, I recently decided to update RAM of my Paviliion g6-2333el by adding a second 4 GB of RAM.

  I inserted the new RAM in the RAM secondary housing, but the PC seemed unable to find. Fearing that I might you bought a RAM that was not compatible with my laptop, I tried to delete the original RAM and put another in his place: the new RAM has been correctly identified.

  Seeing that the new RAM was indeed compatible, I tried to insert the old one in secondary housing, and the result was the same: the RAM was not considered by the PC.

  I noticed the following about this secondary property of RAM:

  (1) the RAM seems to be inserted less deeply than in the other slot

  (2) the RAM is very easily put out of position when he is in this niche (as in, just a little touch will make it fall out of the connector)

  (3) in contrast with the other location, when the metal arms that hold the RAM in place are released RAM no "eject" on its own

  Try blowing the slot with compressed air. Insert the module at a 45 degree angle and don't hesitate to push a little once you are sure that the notch is aligned with the tab into the slot...

  I bought 2x2gb memory cards to insert in the slots of RAM on my Satellite A200.

  However, I can't delete the old maps because one of the plastic ties that frees from the card rack is broken.

  Doesn't anyone know how to activate the spring to get out the cards despite a missing latch?

• Matched XW8400 CPU... .only a CPU slot 1 work

  I have Inhereted a XW8400 with only works on 1 2 matched Intel quad core Cpu. I have exchanged around the matched CPU and both work well, but only in slot 1. The information system gives me only 1 CPU to 4 cores and 4 logic.

  I have inspected the slot 2 with a microscope and found that no pins are damaged, broken or out of place. I'm removing the CPU in a good sense.

  It has been suggested that I update my Bios and found a level of 2.3xxx on the HP site and downloaded, however, when you try to load it in F10 during boot to start what he reads in the column flashrom two andUSB Optics (which I tried) shows a red window saying "file is not present missing or corrupted. " I checked and found that it is NOT corrupt and most certainly there IS on both disks and USB flash memory.

  My motherboard is at fault? because everything else works very well with win 7 pro 64 bit and 16 GB of ram ECE in the correct locations.

  The questions I have are:-

  (A) it is the motherboard 1) have I missed some sort of activation process? (2) how do I test if it is the motherboard?

  Be able to run in what concerns only a processor... it may be a motherboard problem because you have proven that the two processors are the same and work in the upper part when taken there by themselves.  You will have to just live with a Quad Core...

  Regarding the question of the USB... the USB key must be formatted cost with fat32, it must have only the single .bin file on it and nothing else, and we must put it in my computer when it stops completely.  Then, boot in the BIOS and use the option here in the first tab updated the BIOS to go into the BIOS.

  The bin file is 7D5_0238.bin, and it's the only thing you want to see on this USB key.  I'll try to tie it, but it cannot be allowed.

  Yep... that worked.  Just unzip that put on your USB key and try with that.

  If this does not work then just run the HP SoftPaq for this update BIOS of Windows 7... just the fire and it should automatically launch a page that allows you to run the BIOS flashing directly from in W7.  This page will not be talking about Windows 7, that does not matter.  You may need to respond in W7, the program installed correctly.

  EDIT: in general, it is best to get something as important as this .bin file directly from the source, the HP SoftPaq.  How to do this has been posted here several times... it is in the BACK folder after you run the SoftPaq, which is SP51225.exe for the last (and probably last) xw8400 BIOS updater.  It will be at the root of drive C, inside the SWSetup folder.

  I have a top of the range (at time of purchase) by Satellite 502 901 (2.4 Ghz, 80 GB, 512 MB ram, son of the late, display 1600 x 1200, pentium 4 mobile, docking Bay slot...). Unfortunately, after a year I had problems. The unit is now 3 years old and the hinges are broken on the screen. The DVD/CD drive also fails to operate occasionally. I also had a "Thunder fly" switch to the screen, crawling in the middle and died there, very nice.

  I still tenderly care for the laptop, while it cost me an arm and a leg. I always love the laptop despite the problems, but would like help as to where you can get help.   If you don't find anything on eBay so the hinges and the executives of the screen you can buy or order too at the Toshiba service partner in your country. On the Toshiba support page, you will find a data base of the entire ASP worldwide.

  I didn't test it on my P200, but I think it should work. Problem is that on the list of RAM Toshiba does not offer compatible 4 GB of RAM for this model of laptop, just 2 GB modules.
  RAM is DDR2 667 MHZ, but you can use DDR2 800 MHz modules.
  You can try with 4 GB of RAM DDR2 800 MHz with PA3670U-1M4G part number.

  Please post comments. It may be useful information for other people with the same problem.

  Can someone tell me where I can buy a replacement for my RAM box? I finally decided to go on my poles 2x2gb for 2 x 4 GB sticks, but it was late, I was tired and I broke accidentally one of the arms of the RAM box because I was stupid. So now, the RAM can't lock it up and I fear that any bump serious he will hit coward. However, the attempt to find alternative accommodation has been a beast.   I read your message and understand that the DIMM slots are broken on your HP Pavilion dv7 - 1247cl. The DIMM slots are directly connected to the product system map, change the slots would require the entire system board replacement. You can find spare parts by using the guide to maintenance and after-sales service of the products in conjunction with the HP part surfer.

• Intel Centrino 1000 bgn wifi adapter 'broken '? (on Z570)

  On my new laptop (Lenovo IdeaPad Z-570), I have installed and working
  fine (for about 2 months now), as the dual boot between Linux and Win - 7.

  The wifi hardware is the Intel Centrino 1000-N, that plugs into the PCI-E card
  location of bus. (I had the large bottom plate and examined the)
  card, who has two sons, 1 white, 1 black and stands in his
  slot with a single phillips screw. [Seems that they can put "lock-tight"
  cement on the threads of the screw, the screw did not move.]
