brush retouching

I am trying to improve the quality of a photo for my site http://curbpainting.com representing our product of stencil street address numbers painted in black on white rectangular background.  First of all, I took the picture at a distance of about 7 or 8 feet to show the relative position of the numbers in the entire border and the aisle so that the definition will never as clear as a big pic of a foot or so away.  Also, the sun shone to give the first two digits clear tasks naturally so the photo does not give a true representation of dark how the numbers really are.  If I could have foreseen the clear spots I probably would have taken the photo at an angle to one side that did not show the reflection of the Sun.  I tried to use the PS brush to darken the figures but the brush was too broadly and looked lighter on the outer edges than the inner part and I need a tool that gives dark for the tool as a dark full coat should look.  I never got the edges quite dark and every time I tried the brush would go over the edges.  I also tried to use the pen tool in black, but it was too thin and should always be, esp after having detached errors goes beyond the edges.  It is particularly difficult because figures have for the most part, all curved edges.  Suggestions, if there is an effective tool in PS that I can use?  Thank you!

Any chance that we could see an example of image?

You probably want to use the selections when you change the image. In this way, there is no 'spill', trying to fix specific parts of an image.

Also, in the future, consider a kind of diffuser so that the light shines directly on the subject. Perhaps you hold a sheet on you while you take a picture. (Who will know... other people watch while you take the photo?)  Could wait for hours when the Sun is not shining directly on the subject too.

  • Open the file in Camera Raw - manual batch

    Hello

    I found http://www.ps-bridge-scripts.talktalk.net/ - PSC Script - manual batch.

She is a very good solution for me because I can load the folder with images, play the other action photoshop and brush, retouch photos etc.

But I have a problem because this script does not open the RAW files in Camera Raw.

Do you know what I need to add code to open files in Camera Raw?

    Best regards

  • Retouch with the Healing Brush tool

This question has been posted in response to the following article: http://help.Adobe.com/en_US/Photoshop/CS/using/WSfd1234e1c4b69f30ea53e41001031ab64-7607a.h tml

You can either make a selection that doesn't include the dark border or use the Clone Stamp tool. The aligned check box is for when you don't want to try always to the same place every time, if you have only a small area of cure then you would clear the check box aligned for example.

The help files tell you what are the characteristics to be used in which situations because there are so many possibilities in Photoshop is usually not a way it's better than the other. What matters most isn't the end result, if you used a filter of sharpness to blur the image, or what have you.

  • Healing Brush and Patch tool

Can someone please teach me how to use the healing brush and the patch tool? I didn't get the video!

    Hello
If you are struggling with the video - it might be useful in providing a link and by showing how you are getting lost.

Reading in the meantime, this might help: retouching and repair photos

Also some examples of a recent wedding:

In the first, I used the Healing Brush tool spot, value "Content Aware" to paint on a sheet at the foot clamps in a wedding photography. It was literally just paint on leave and then releasing the mouse button (or a pen) and Photoshop filled in the region.

The second was an area with the pattern and the spot Healing Brush tool could not match the pattern exactly

I chose the region of the offending piece of the grass, the patch the Source value tool, and then drag the selection to another box patch until the model matched. When you release the mouse, Photoshop has mixed model

The third was the abolishment of a from offending lamp from a background.

In this case, I used the Healing Brush tool.

I selected the source (i.e., what part of the image to paint with) whenever by holding down the ALT key while clicking on and then painted on the station. By choosing a variety of sources in different parts of the background, I have avoided the repetition of pattern tree.

    I hope this helps you

  • How to retouch this photo

Hi , I am intermediate photo editor. Please suggest me how to retouch this photo below of quick and easy way?60e824b2a123831fa79274404bf82e61.jpg

I hated showing this because I can't imagine why you might want to modify your original image. It is striking and beautiful. In the old days we'd talk about this photograph as having a quality of "stop-press". But as an abstract exercise (and since Benjamin and offered suggestions for change Trevor), I have prepared something you may find useful. As you can see on the properties and layers panels, this is the method:

    1. go to CMYK and choose channel C because it reduces or eliminates the contrast of the freckles-on-no-spot freckles task area.

2 drag it down to the new pipe symbol to create a copy of C Alpha channel which will be later used as a layer of brightness.

3 come back to RGB. Choose channels and select > all and then edit > copy the string of Alpa.

    4. change its blending in luminosity Mode and its opacity to 50%.

    5. Add a mask and paint as shown in the layers panel, to bring some colors. Soft brush 10% increments to build density in the mask.

    6. Add a curves adjustment as indicated layer to build weights. See the properties of curved shape.

Note: Depending on your aesthetic taste, there are widely the possibility to modify the image by changing the the contrast of brightness and opacity layer and its mask as well as adjustments in the adjustment layer curves.

    (I prefer the original.)

[Edit] Between steps 3 and 4. I forgot to include: return to the Panel layers and editing > paste the Alpha channel. Sorry about that.

  • Spot healing brush tool deselection when I uncheck

I use Photoshop cc. I put my image in black and white and I use the spot Healing Brush tool to bring the colors in some of the photo. It was working fine yesterday, but today when I use the spot Healing Brush tool when I uncheck the mouse to change the size of the brush that it deselects everything I did. I'm sure this is a simple settings, but I can't understand it. Help, please

    Hi Shadrack,

    Greetings!

I think that something is wrong here.

Spot healing brush should not be used to bring the colors.

Learn more about the tool marker spot here: https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/using/retouching-repairing-images.html#retouch_with_the _ spot_healing_brush_tool

Please let us know your exact workflow.

  • Size of the relative brush?

Hi, as I do a lot of retouching and dodge and burn on soft light layers I always zoom in to see the full image and texture, and for each zoom level, I resize my brush so that it is appropriate for the level of zoom that I use. Have a brush size option for the brush would be impressive for retouchers device (as the brush stays the same size for all the zoom levels). Then someone has the same problem and is there a solution for it or it's going to be a whole earlier? :))

It's actually a very good idea.  The local adjustment brush works this way in ACR, so it's obviously doable.

We had a long thread about how a possible new predefined and dynamic panels would work, earlier, which was redirected to Photoshop.com Feature requests, so go add your idea about it and post a link here for others may add support.

  • Healing CC 2014 / Spot brush jig

Hi guys, I am a full-time Retoucher. Just installed and started using CC 2014 from CC.

Photoshop has migrated my prefs/settings on what is optimal. However I notice weird things with the heal or brushes spots (that I used 80% of my time).

Then, when I use a tool, instead of a line of smooth brush from point a to b, I rather get a shower or Jig such as the stroke.

This is not the case in CC. I use a Wacom 3 so I tried the same tool with my mouse, same jitter.

Buffer of duplication and the standard brush is very well.

Anyone else does? Or know a fix or setting I need to change.

    Thank you.

I use a Wacom 3, the Lion, the MacPro 4,1 with 16 GB of ram.

Just I just stumbled upon a post where someone mentions the Reset tool menu item. And guess what, he fixed it! Here it is:

Click the icon for the tool in the upper left corner, then click on the gear icon and choose Reset tool.

This does not mean that something is not bad but, as the problem will probably return, and I'm sure this isn't a setting I change by accident. But at least we have a workaround solution.

  • Brushes bristle pixelated in situs against the importation of "smooth" areas under the objectives of Photoshop

Sorry about the title of long breath on this point. When I need a contour softened in some parts of an illustration, the gradient mesh option is much too long for me.  No doubt some of you can work the stitch quickly but I think it's a bit of a drag!  When the bristles brushes came, I thought this would be the answer to my problem.  The brushes look great and work just fine.  But when I want to save the file, Adobe advises to rasterize the brushes. Now these areas 'smooth' could have been made in Photoshop and saved out as 'bits' in tif format. Indeed, these special small ares could even be retouched. My client still wants my vector illustrations in the form of PDF files. The funny thing is, if I simply vectorize small parts of my illustration Illustrator, he was still classified as a vector file. If, however, he became an Illustrator file with embedded targets, oddly, looks like 'cheating '.  I'd love to hear your lives on this point, the people.  Thank you in advance.

I could have created mixtures, but why bother when the blur effect does the job?

Because often, you really don't want the work to entirely made up of vector traces. In addition, because you have more control over the shape of highlighting / shading and possibility of edit, refine, reshape when you want without restarting and without loss of quality.

This is where it becomes a question of jurisdiction. For example: while programs like Illustrator has started playing with on-the-fly generated pixelation effects - and even more before long of gradient mesh - Corel Draw (version 8, I think that it is) a photo-realistic vector near Judy Garland of drawing on the cover of his book featured. (It was actually a winner in a contest of Corel). You will find countless examples of this kind of thing that goes back decades and containing nothing else than traces (using graduates and mixes for shading).

For example, these are completely degraded to focused on the mixture of vector employing no pixelation (effects in live or not) at all:

Because these things are applied programmatically, they are build-once /-unlimited use.

These two images are an example of the variety of raster/vector 'hybrid' (rasterize live effects applied to tracks). They are actually two instances of the drawing "even". The first was done as an experimental demonstration in answer to a question in this forum to draw clouds. The second was a modification of the same file in response to a thread later on drawing of lightning.

I didn't not redraw the clouds in the second example. I just modified the. In other words, even if the final result depends on the pixelation effects (blur), these effects are applied, removed and re - apply automatically on-the-fly that I change the underlying traces. I can scale, reorganize, re - stack, recolor, duplicate, reshape these clouds * objects *- and even change the settings of pixelation - without degradation of re-rasterization of the final output.

This example is the same kind of effects at the level of the raster object to a little bit of the extreme:

The truck was designed entirely as traces in Xara Xtreme (now called Xara Designer Pro). But the vast majority of the thousands of individual paths also have dynamic to the level of objects and rasterized transparency blur (what Xara interface labels feather) applied. It's primary application-to-watchmaking of Xara. Many cases of effects of rasterization in a single Illustrator file would stifle the performance. But I can edit this drawing in real-time in Xara, almost imperceptible performance promptly.

So in this example, I have the advantages of both worlds: the versatility, scalability, control form and editability traces - and easy quick access to apply graduated frame of transparency (as opposed to mixtures, even if the design has a lot of mixes, too, and even some mixtures in flag).

  • Problem with clone stamp and Healing Brush

Once the value of the sampling point by option clicking on the Healing Brush tool or the Clone Stamp tool, I suddenly see a double layer that moves with the cursor that I try to position oveer place I want to fix.

I tried to reset the two tools.  I'm running CS6 and know no other problems.

    Any ideas what's happening?

    Hi RedMo53,

Clone your seeing the overlay from the source and you can adjust the preferences for the clone overlay by going to window > Source of duplication.

You could try clipped and see how it works.

  • Repair of brush spinning-loading for a long time

I have a MacPro 2009 with Snow Leopard and opening 3.2.4.  I use the repair brush a lot to clean dust and stains on old negatives scanned and slides.

When I click on a large number of repairs on a photo, I'm starting finally to get the spinning - loading indicator.  Usually I do it through to fix the image with a bit of patience.

I'm to halfway done on a photo that has had a lot of clicks to repair.  The spinning loading light remains lit as long it will be almost impossible to complete the image.

I tried to work on another photo and then again the problem.  I tried to use the curves on the problem and hope the cache or anything that would clearly and I could start again with the brush of repair.

I guess a solution would be to export the full size version and then re - import as a new master.

    Any other suggestions?

Your Mac with 32 GB of memory should be able to handle any amount of editing. Or you run out of your system disk storage?

It is difficult to guess, what could be the problem.

Check, if it depends on your current Aperture library by testing the adjustment brush in a new library created for the test Aperture.

  • Cool trick of brushing

I came across a nice little trick while brushing in settings a few days ago that I thought I'd share with our troublemakers to open (and I do not foresee leaving anytime soon).

I use a LOT of brushing in my images, Aperture allows to create masks to isolate parts of a photo for editing and collage of works in other applications. In general, this means that I want to completely brush unwanted areas of a photo, but it is not always easy to see where you are and that you're not sweep - in particular where a soft brush or a feather has been used. While you can turn on overprint strokes to show where brushing took place, it is REALLY easy to miss the places where the edge of a soft brush left just a bit of an adjustment which is visible that staring at the screen - and maybe move the autour, a little window to see if a shadow moves.

However, if you see Brush Strokes AND turn on highlight hot and cold areas... voila! You may not have noticed that the brushed (or not) the areas appear as if by magic as red or blue, while hot/cold threshold preferences are set to 100 and 0% respectively. Just show 100% (or more) and you immediately see that you otherwise might have missed as black or gray areas.

Even after all these years, opening continues to amaze.

It is indeed a good thing, John.

Thanks for sharing this.  I rarely use the overlay of areas "Hot & Cold", but it is very useful!
